Staples is another one of the businesses that 10 years ago owned the back to school shopping space. Sadly, this is another victim of Amazon and the stores are suffering. The prices are much higher in many of the places we spot checked, the carts are filthy (see image) and store had zero floor help. I've been a Staples customer since it's been around and I have spent thousands at the stores in Plaistow where I live and had an office and Salem where I had an office. Currently my company uses Staples online services monthly. I used to enjoy going in and looking around when I needed a quick item. The last few times I've gone to Plaistow I noticed a lack of helpful people and attitudes like you are a bother to ask questions. Tonight in Plaistow I asked a young man for help and I was met with a careless answer that the item I asked about was somewhere in an isle in the middle. He couldn't be bothered to help more than that. It was a specific item not to do with computers but he sent me to the computer isle to search anyways. When I came back to tell him I couldn't find the item he shrugged and turned around. I was not happy and left without saying anythin about his lack of caring. When I saw the young lady that also worked there laugh at something he said as I exited I went back in the entrance door to let him know he was not helpful and I didn't appreciate that they thought it funny to make a customer feel like he was not welcome in the establishment especially if I were going to bother them with questions. His answer to my complaint was that he "answered my question". I am not sure who the manager is there but I believe they should spend some time looking at these reviews. Their shipping service sucks! Is costs twice as much as another place like the post office and the employees are no help at all. I was told to put my package in the fed ex box and it was never scanned by the driver and now my important documents are lost! Someone stole them out of the box because I doubt the fed ex driver and and warehouse all forgot to scan my package in. This place is the worst and gone way down hill over the years! I will continue to order online and ship at the post office hoping you go out of business. Who wants to pay more money and go to this crappy store? If so keep shopping here! read more

I went here yestrday to copy and bind some items, around 4pm. When I got to the copy center it was maned by only one worker who advised me that she could not do the work, as she was alone. I asked if it could been done later and she said she basically did not know as the other person was on break. She was completely disinterested in helping me and I find it appalling that they were so understaffed. I then called the North Andover Staples and was greeted by a woman in the copying center that was exceptionally helpfu/professional and more than happy to do the work. When I arrived, there were 4 people working in the copying center, unlike one teenager at Plaistow's location. The manager of the Plaistow Staples should spend a day at North Andover's store and learn about how to run a business. I will NEVER spend another penny at this Plaistow Staples. read more

I go to Staple's when they have really good specials. Like back to school time or when they give stuff away free. Other than that, the prices can be a bit higher than the competition. The store is big, bright and clean but I can still never manage to find what I need without having to ask. Then when they show me, it's never quite where I would have thought it should be. They also put a little too much pressure on their rewards card. They tout their 10% cash back. I don't have a card but usually give my BF's number so they can add it to his. She was working on a printing project and when I asked for help, she did not hesitate and helped me with a smile on her face. The girl who helped me was much more interested playing with her phone than dealing with my lack of experience she was absolutely dead space! My niece wanted a Bluetooth keyboard to use with her new iPad. She already had a case she liked, so didn't want a keyboard case. Very slim pickings in cases and keyboards. We did find a display model of a nice thin, red (!), Logitech keyboard. It was completely sealed so couldn't be damaged by spills, but had a fabulous key throw that I, as a trained typist on a manual (yes, I'm ancient), really liked. Most keyboards these days aren't tactile enough for me, and Jade loved it too. Not bulky at all and would fit nicely into her backpack. But there was no price or specs. We flagged down an associate, who wasn't familiar with the products. He sent us over to the tech desk. Gentleman there wasn't sure what keyboard we were talking about, so we showed him. He said they didn't have any more and probably wouldn't get any for a couple weeks with the back to school stock. No worries, we found it on Amazon for half the price of the Staples website, in turquoise! ;) read more

Staples - Printing Services Near Me - Plaistow, New Hampshire

I have been a loyal and long-standing customer of Staples but the miserable experience today has been enough. This is a big store with hardly any patrons in the store every time I have been there, which is generally during normal business hours. What good is a store if you cannot find anything and you must ask the miserable people who work here where the item is? That is correct, the staff are miserable and I will let you know why now. About two weeks ago, I purchased the HP 920XL/920 Combo kit using gift cards I had saved from this store. Upon inserting each cartridge into the HP printer, the printer would not print. After several attempts of back and forth support calls with HP Technical, they said the print head would need to be replaced due to it likely malfunction. Well, it is cheaper to buy a new printer than to spend money on replacing the print head. I immediately called this Staples store and spoke with a technician in the PC support/printer section. He said the cartridges could be returned if the box was opened and the seal broken. At this time, I could not find the receipt and told him that; it had been over 15 days since purchasing. He said there would be no problem returning if I still had the box and original packaging. I wish I caught his name because I would have referred to speaking with him about the returned item. On a Tuesday (today) I entered this Staples store, immediately spoke with a person behind the counter who said he could help and would give store credit without a receipt. He then spoke with another staff member about the reason why the cartridges were being returned. She looked at the box as if she had never looked at a boxed item before, tilted her head to the left, and shrugged her shoulders. I do not know what the purpose of him involving her. Then another person came over wanting to discuss something with the person who was supposed to be helping me. The three had a conversation giggling amongst each other within my presence. After chatting with each other about nonsense, the three individuals continued to giggle with the person holding the HP combo box in his right hand and the staff person looking at the box. Shortly after, the two walked away, a manager came by wanting to know what the interest was. This guy tells him I am returning the item without a receipt. The manager says, 'what's the problem' to him and then said to give store credit and walked away. Now, I have been standing at the counter over 10 minutes waiting for a simple item to be returned, watching two additional staff members get involved, and am getting a bit annoyed that this process is taking so long and that it needs the involvement of all the staff in the store. About 15 minutes pass, the person behind the counter went over to get a store card, then came back and said to me that without a receipt, he could do nothing. Huh? I did not get into it with him because this staff had just wasted 15+ minutes of my time and he had no justification for the response, even after the manager said to give store credit. I have spent thousands of dollars over years of Staples and today the line was drawn with a jerk behind the counter who wasted 15 minutes of my time. BUYERS BEWARE that this Staples store WILL waste your time if you need to return anything. I will not buy from this Staples store again. The staff that were involved in this simple return complicated things for no reason. They are ignorant, incompetent little people who do not belong handling customer support issues. read more

Staples is good for teachers when they have the back to school sales, but that's about where it ends. The prices are pretty high. The store is well organized and the employees are helpful, but it isn't my first choice for office supplies as their prices are too high to meet my needs. (Zero stars not available) Like many other reviewers, I am a decades long customer of Staples who had my first bad experience with this location. I will not go here again, and will reconsider my future loyalty to Staples in the future - depending on how Staples responds to this experience. I have always found the Staples print-ordering website to be confusing, but in the past, any local store I was using was very helpful. In this case, the website closed me out of my order in the middle of it three times. I managed my way through and ordered $100 worth of print copies, but could not find a place to enter a pick up time or date in between the website closing in and out - so Staples did this on its own. The confirmation # gave me a pick up time 30-hours in the future, 4-hours after the meeting that I needed the documents for. So I called the store 5-minutes after they opened to ask to pick up my order today (Sunday). I was told that I could not, that my pick up time was going Monday at noon (my meeting was in Boston at 9:00AM). The print employee, and the assistant manager, refused to accommodate me unless I paid a $25 fee to fill my order today. Keep in mind (it is Sunday - and they had all day to work in time to help me print two - 2-page documents for a total of 150 pages). I reluctantly paid the fee, as the meeting is more important to me than $25, but the experience was horrendous. I was on hold longer while the staff re-worked my order, then it would have taken simply to print my documents. The staff said that they had to charge me because they would be moving me ahead of other orders. I let him no this was a cop-out on his part, because it was 10am on a Sunday, and none of this had anything to do with customer service for others, as $25 bought me same day printing ahead of the others, so it was all about revenue - not customer service. Two other Notes: 1) Never had this happened to me before with Staples in over 10 years of loyalty. Always, Staples found a way to print my documents the same day, if not within hours. 2) The Assistant Manager not only did not care about even trying to accommodate me on a slow Sunday, when he had the whole day to work with, but he constantly interrupted me, told me neither my past loyalty nor faulty website experience impacted my current order, and told me I was welcome to complain to Staples, but that I was only getting my documents today if I paid a $25 fee. read more

I love staples - just not this location. After multiple bad experiences spread out over a few months, I had to leave a review. The staff seems completely disinterested - like they're either bored or miserable. There might be some good employees there, but all the ones I've interacted with have been unhelpful and unfriendly. Went there to print out labels and purchase stamps for a time sensitive baby shower invitation. The girl behind the counter while nice was not trained, totally out of her element and unable to assist anyone with the simplest of tasks. She reprinted the same label 8 times. Labels I had to pay for? It took 1.5 hours between the waiting and the asking how to and the reprints. Finally, labels in hand, we purchased stamps and left. Now its a week later, none of our invitations have been delivered and today there were returned for POSTAGE DUE. She sold us postcard stamps??????????????????? Horrible management. read more

I have had enough with the people and prices at staples. I spent over $2000.00 on building a new office. I had them come set up my new computer and everything. They set it up and the computer they sold me was supposed to have built in WiFi, it did not. The tech, Jon, gave me a wireless stick at no charge that only worked intermittently. when I went back to buy a wire to replace it, he said to buy it, then return the WiFi stick, as they were the same price. When I tried to return the stick, the manager refused to honor it. He gave me some in store coupons to use, that state save $20 when you spend $20, he gave me a few of these. They need to be used for face value, as there is no change or store credit. Needless to say, I will NEVER spend another hard earned dollar at this, or any other Staples again. I'm sure it will be inconvenient at times, but I mean it. I'm so sick of these big corporate bullies. I wish there were some smaller, local, office supply places. I think they could care less about anyone, but I refuse to do any more business with them. Glad they didn't refund my silly $45.00 item. It will cost them many thousands in the future. read more

The STAPLE store at Plaistow, NH, seemingly is doing business as any other store, but there, I tested twice - how difficult is to buy special sale events merchandise - and received the worse customer services ever. You get five star for this "worse ever". The last occasion was after the Fourth of July special sale. I enter with $ 2,000.00 to buy and I left empty-handed by the resistance of their "tech service employee". After a disrespectful greeting and imposing approach, (he insisted not to sell their computers if not acquired a backup drive ($ 100 x 2 = $ 200.00 more) I wonder why this company has employees who have no interest to sell your merchandise? Then, I went to the Salem, NH location-store to compare. They did not try to fool me with the ripping off warranty services, it was'not a condition to sale! read more

I cannot even begin to c communicate how bad this store is. Not enough staff, the ones they have are not interested in helping answer any questions and the managers aren't much better. Before going, a phone call was placed to insure the item I wanted was in stock and then when I got there, no one would check to see if they had it. A clerk said if it wasn't on the shelf, it was out of stock. I couldn't even find where he said the item was supposed to be. It was a label maker I was looking for and the clerk couldn't find it either. I then found a section with label makers in it and it appeared to be out of stock. The clerk told me to go to WalMart. Didn't offer to order if for me, just told me to go to another store. I have more stories of how bad the place has gotten, but I never took the time to post anything. Today was too much, 45 min. of wasted time. They will never get another penny of my money. read more
