I would like to offer a HUGE shout out to the Mount Pleasant Staples for AWESOME customer focus--without expectation of return. On Tuesday I had two events, one in Mount Pleasant and the other in Charleston. Driving back to my office between these made no sense. I planned to work at a Starbucks between the two. Unfortunately, Starbucks sent out an email saying stores would be closed that afternoon nationwide for training. I remembered the Whole Foods had tables ... so I purchased a snack and set out to work. What Whole Foods did NOT have was any power; I worked until my battery dropped to 14%. After driving around to try and identify an alternative, I pulled into the Staples, explained my predicament, and asked the store if there was any way they could allow me to plug in somewhere. They were SO gracious! They set me up with a chair near a power outlet. As I was working, at least three employees came by to ask if I needed any help. I was able to complete a couple important tasks for my clients and my laptop battery charged to 70%! After returning the chair to the display (it was super comfy and a lovely chocolate leather, if you're in the market), I picked up a couple of supplies and a retirement card for a former colleague. While they had made no expectation of me making a purchase, I was happy to do so. Here's the thing. I asked for something out of the box. The manager's response was immediately supportive. He could have easily said, "sorry, we have no way to help with that" and cite some kind of policy. Instead, he was empowered to provide a solution. The worst Staples to exist genuinely. They do not care about your time. They are so slow, it's unbelievable

Wow. Not only did I have to wait 10 minutes to speak with someone about a small little 5 paper print job but I had to speak with 2 different people and repeat myself as to why I wasn't contacted when my print job was done. The entire call took 15 minutes. The same amount of time it took me to drive there. Better yet! It's not short staffed as there were three differnt people at the printing area so clearly someone could answer my call. EVEN BETTER Not one person said hello or acknowledged my existence when I went up to take my prints off their desk. HORRIBLE. go to FedEx or the library for printing. read more

This location needs better management, the costumer service was awful. For a simple task to be done, I was told would take a week. Mind you a task that takes five minutes. Do better. read more

Needing a new pocket calendar, some Sharpies and a spiral bound graph paper notebook gave me an opportunity to give this brick and mortar location some retail love. The store was clean, well stocked and aisles had visible signage making it easy and efficient to find exactly what I needed. Check out was easy. I'll be back! read more

Print staff clearly hate being there. They hate doing your jobs and do not care how incorrect it is. They blame the machine and not the worker. And happily refund you so you don't return because that means they have to do more work. They suggest other local graphics businesses so they do not have to get your order done correctly. Because that means being accountable and having to do more work. Just look at the face of the person in the print section who greets you when you walk up. They are miserable for no reason. And they let you know it. They are there because they get paid. They are not there to make sure they do a job correctly. Good luck with Staples in Beaufort. Employees need some re-training. Please. In all areas. How to operate the equipment and also in customer service skills. read more

Staples on Houston Northcutt Boulevard in Mount Pleasant is one of my favorite office supply stores in the area as it is easy to access and find exactly what you need quickly when you need something on the move. The staff here is very helpful and takes time to make sure that you have everything that you need. I have had a really good experience every time I have shopped here. read more

Had a wonderful experience at the Staples in Mount Pleasant (Houston Northcutt). Jen (the Manager) helped me with a project and could not have been more knowledgeable, professional, and kind. There was also at the time a gentleman working in the printing area where Jen was and I observed his great customer service with 2 other customers. And as I was walking out the store I was greeted by a young man that was working near the cash registers. I could not say enough about how great my experience was. Thank you all so much. read more

Man, Staples has become a thoroughly depressing store. In my mind, Staples had always been the superior choice over other office supply stores...the Target to others Wal-Mart if you will...but over the last few years, they have gone incredibly down hill. The lightning is dim and the great lines of "girly" fun supplies seem all but gone. The worst part was the complete lack of service. I had a question about some expensive software (we're talking several hundred bucks, a quick question would not have been uncalled for.) I wandered back to the computer area where, apparently, the only employee was working. He was helping another customer for what seemed like an eternity without any acknowledgment to myself or the other customers waiting in front of me. One woman went to the registers to request extra help in this department, and while it was said over the intercom, no further assistance came. Eventually she abandoned her cart filled with items and left, and I was not far behind her. I ended up buying everything I needed online at a fraction of the cost. I understand how hard it is to compete with the online pricing, but I would have happily bought from Staples had anyone made an attempt at helping a girl out. I'm probably not the best judge for a Staples, because these days I only need to go about once a year. Before online research and shopping, their services were much more useful. If you have kids, it's a great place to stock up on specific school supplies. My kids are grown. This Staples is conveniently located and, thankfully, doesn't share a parking lot with nearby Whole Foods. I've found the fastest and best service to be early in the morning. Everyone seems to be on their game and services are not running behind. Monday thru Friday they're open at 8am. Best to be an early bird. read more

I fell like Staples is by default the company that gets "sloppy seconds" if Office Depot decides that it is not good business location. Hence, this Staples and many others were erected. Everything about Staples is random. The lady in the copy center told me that they do not have web browsers because they would get too much spam, hence you must email all jobs to a staples employee email address that is a mix of numbers and letters that are confusing and easy to mix up. Then you have to wait for their archaic system to receive it. Once my job was done, I repeatedly tried to input my CC information to the register. She mentioned that this always happens the first transaction of the day. Always I thought, she had already told me that she had been there over a year. I went to the front register with my purchases where another employee was ringing up a woman with a bunch of hangbags. Wow, they were a really good deal! I could not help but comment, "that is a great price". The employee replied that they were on clearance because they did not sell well. I could have told you that Staples would not sell handbag's very well. I bet Office Depot was shakin' in their boots when Staples took the plunge into that market. Wowza. All before 8:15 am. Thank you Felisha for saving my day! When choosing between the Mount Pleasant Office Depot or Staples please please head to Staples! I had an urgent need to get 40 copies of a document. My printer malfunctioned the night before and I needed them as quickly as possible. When deciding where to go I chose Office Depot because it was 1.5 miles closer than Staples, and I was trying to be there when they opened. Big mistake. I dash in to the completely empty store when they open and I'm the only customer. I am greeted in the print center by someone who was previously wandering around the store. I show her my project and explain to her that I really need them as soon as possible. There were multiple printers and none of them were on or running. She tells me that she will need three or four hours to run 40 copies. I look perplexed and frazzled and explain that I got there first and hopes get I could wait for the copies and she explains that there are two jobs in front of mine. Again there are multiple copiers and none of them are running. I explain that I can't wait 4 hours for 40 copies and run back to my car and drive to Staples. At Staples, the store is already full of customers but I am politely greeted by Felisha in the copy center who could tell I was frantic and frazzled. I show her my project and apologize that I am in a hurry and despite the fact that she is also helping someone process a fax and work on one of the computers, she puts me at ease saying this is not a big deal and she will get it done as quickly as possible. She explains the normal weight time for the size job could be up to an hour but there was no reason she couldn't help me immediately. By the time I located some double stick tape and a notepad I needed, she was calling me over to let me know she was done. The copies were perfect and she was gracious and I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. I normally don't take the time to write reviews of something as basic as an office supply store but now I regret that when deciding which store to go to I didn't look at the reviews myself. Hopefully this review will help someone else not make the same mistake. I am dumbfounded that this location of Office Depot can stay in business. Absolutely the worst Staples I have ever been to. I went to get some items printed off of a USB drive. There were 8 single page items. The lady told me it would take an hr before they were ready. I asked her why so long and she said that she would have to stop and help other customers of they came up. I asked if she could go ahead and print them since there was no one there and she then told me that she had other things to do. Do not go to this place. Will never go to this Staples or probably any other staples again. read more

I don't know what all the complaining is about. I go this store frequently with medium volume printing jobs (ordered through website) I have always been treated well. In particular right before Hurricane Matthew I needed to pick up an order. Store was closing at noon due to emergency evacuation order, I got there about 10 AM, employee in print department was excellent. I am a small business owner & this is my go to office supply store. read more

Staff is ill-trained. Took 10 minutes to do a simple return. If staff badge is to be believed, she has been there 2 years. Manager had to keep being called for override...not sure why he couldn't just stand there for the return to be processed...maybe he didn't want his time wasted like mine was.
