Their quality of cards beat Vistaprint or gotprint. Best time to stock up on school supplies is late July or August. There are always employees nearby ready to help. I needed to print something from my phone, no problem. I love using their business center. When my printer decides to act up and I need to print important documents, you can come here to print. You dont need to bring usbs or cables if your printing from your phone. You email code and that document is sent to their printer, the cost is .30 cents. They are more efficient and affordable than FedEx. They carry all your office needs and supplies, however mailing supplies its cheaper at the dollar tree. Once free she stated" we are not taking printing requests now because I have too many Amazon returns, besides being busy and rude staples is an office and printing facility- so you overlooked my needs while working for Amazon ! I came to staples for one simple task of dropping off a UPS package. I made my way to the front cashier to ask where I should drop off the package and he directed me to the copy center. Once there a lady greeted and helped me right away. Upon leaving, a different young gentleman was nice enough to tell me to have a nice evening and thanked me for my visit. I had been seeing all over the news that Staples was offering free laminating services for COVID-19 vaccine cards. I went to my local Staples in Germantown MD and was told they are no longer doing it. Despite the fact that several friends had it done the same day at other Staples. I was charged 2.75 and when I contacted customer service was told that if they said they weren't doing it at the store, then they weren't doing it. Thanks. read more

We've been going to this store for print and copy services for over ten years, and I'm sorry to say we won't be going back. While the employees are friendly and helpful, the new policy seems to be to charge a rush fee to any job you want back within 24 hours. I was able to print several documents off of a USB drive at the one self-serve machine that was in operating order. The machine itself is very slow and clunky, but it eventually got the job done, with the exception of a word document I needed to print. The employee told me that a virus infected the machine, and now it won't print word docs. I asked if I could get four sheets printed behind the counter, and was told there'd be a rush charge. No way. I told them I'd go to FedEx instead. The machines are FedEx are very fast and user-friendly. Staples may be doing well with its online print job ordering business, but it comes at the expense of its walk-in customers. I'll be going to FedEx from now on. read more

I've been in here twice. Once, because I didn't know any better. The second time? I guess I am a glutton for punishment. I don't find that this store is set up very well, and I have a terrible time finding anything and that includes shopping carts. Good luck getting any help either. I looked online to make sure they had the Nexus 7 tablet. Their site said yes and I went over. The person working the floor said at 1st they had them but they weren't unpacked and asked if I could come back later. After saying no, he asked me to wait while went to see if he could get one out. 10 min later he signals me to the checkout. While checking out I notice that it was the wrong one. So I asked the checkout guy to grab me the correct one. He went to the back and came back saying there didn't have any. I mentioned the website having them listed as in stock and he gave me some excuse that the website doesn't actually mean in-stock on location or some nonsense like that. I complained on twitter and was contacted by Staples. They said that store was contacted and they were in stock if I would go back over. By then I had enough. I asked if they would free ship me one overnight and I'd be happy to pay full price. That wasn't an option. So, I got up from my computer and 45 min later I had what I wanted from Office Max. The service is pretty good. Seems to get better with every visit. Sold me a bad printer cartridge for home printer. Kind of annoying as I was printing a large amount. The return was easy, and quickly replaced. The rewards program is great for small businesses. Thus place seems well stocked in my opinion. Reasonably priced. read more

Wanted to print a return label there. The clerk who initially helped me was very nice , apologized for the poor reception in the store, and asked the manager if we could use one of the computers to log into my email so we could print out the return label. The manager, a tall thin guy with black hair( wished I had gotten his name) was very rude, and proceeded to tell us he "couldn't do anything for free " and went on about how "there is a cost for everything " in an condescending tone. This is a review towards the UPS that is located within staples. I'm not the type of person to get mad and I understand that it's a drop off location but it was never stated. Went in asking if they had UPS boxes, they said no we had to purchase a regular box and bubble wrap. Ok that's fine. After paying for the box and bubble wrap we led back to set up our package and we didn't have tape so we asked if they had any. As you would notice, " nope you have to buy that" . I was done. I could not believe I had to spend money to buy tape!! I just needed the tape for one thing but they could not give it to me because they don't provide tape for packages. Also they were a bit rude and snickered a bit just cause I wanted to send glasses saying " we aren't liable for you stuff". Honestly if you're trying to take my money for things I don't need , like the tape, I'm out. I left with my stuff and went to another location who really cares and who actually didn't charge me for using their tape. Plus the other official UPS actually did all the packaging for me, including taping. The other Official UPS I went to actually cared about my package stating what was in it and keeping it safe. Never coming back to this location again! UPS customer service needs a lot of fixing. read more

I purchased a laptop around Christmas from this store. It was a supposed to be an excellent computer at a Huge mark down! It was $350 after a $50 mail in rebate; down from $750. However, the laptop I received was a lemon. Due to purchasing this one at Christmas time and things not being opened right away at the holidays it was beyond the short 14 days grace period you have to return the computer before I opened the box. The staff was friendly enough and expressed their condolences that they were unable to refund, exchange, or assist with any technical difficulties as I had not purchased the $200 insurance which would only have lasted one year on a $350 laptop. This was my first and last time ever purchasing a laptop at Staples. And to top it off, the $50 rebate never arrived. I used their tracking system and after 9 weeks of it being processed by them, it simply disappeared and now says "The rebate could not be found. Please try again." read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I would definitely give no stars at all if I could. This Staples location in general definitely needs more friendlier employees if possible. I took a visit on a Monday, came back on Wednesday, and the same sales associate had helped me as well. I asked questions, and I got rude responses back in return. He even denied helping me the Monday that I had come in too saying that he didn't work that day, and I'm positive that it was the same person because on his bitter attitude in general! After he so nicely "helped" my boyfriend and I, he goes behind the counter, and it seemed like he was talking to someone about us in broken Spanish. Do not buy anything from Staples, customer hostile policies are in place, especially Quince Orchard store. Worst merchandise return policy ever was communicated to me from the manager of this store. Here it goes, If you have lost your receipt (life happens) then they will give back lowest historical price of the merchandise when you try to return it. In my case they said they will give me back 20% of the price I paid. So if you buy a office chair or a printer worth $1000, as soon as you get out of the store and lose your receipt in parking lot, they will happily take it back at black friday price of two years prior i.e. $50. In this age of data science, they will not look at recent price of the merchandise but historical lowest ever. Never gonna buy anything ever from Staples, they do not carry anything specific anyway which cannot get from Amazon or walmart at same or lower price. They make money when they sell stuff to you and then they make money when you return them too. Staples are aptly going out of business !!! They do not belong to market anyway with policies like this one...... BTW you can read this on fine print of the back of your staples receipt...... read more

I came here to buy ink for my dads printer and I when I couldn't find it I asked the manager for help but he gave me an attitude and I said never mind I found it. Then when I went to purchase the item the manager was the one at the checkout and I asked if I get credit for the old ink I had with me and he said I have to sign up for this card, so I did and then instead of him checking out my stuff he gave it to the new girl to check out my stuff. Wish I could review management and cashiers differently. I was helped by two extremely sweet gentlemen behind the counters but unfortunately my experiment with the manager was a different story. If you treat your customers like criminals you will lose your customers. I went in to purchase 7 gift cards for end of the year teachers gifts. Typically I get them from Wegmans but Amazon gift cards are in short supply this time of year. The young man politely told me he needed a manager to process the gift cards. Unusual sure but I figured the manager might need to authorize something in the computer to release the gift cards. The gift cards were not the highest domination only 25 each but I thought ok this young man is only doing his job. When the manager arrived he said I need your credit card and drivers license, no hello or even a thank you. When I told him I purchased many gift cards in the previous years and never needed to show my ID he stated well every store is different. Well sir, you're right every store is different and I will take my hard earned dollars to places like Wegmans where they treat their customers and neighbors with dignity and respect. read more

Really deserves less than one star. Went there a few days ago during the morning and simply needed a drawing enlarged from 6" to 12". Was told by the representative at the Copy Center that there was a couple of people ahead and that they couldn't do my request until 8 pm that evening. Although I could pay extra and get "bumped up". Just called there now and spoke to Tommy, the manager. Explained by prior experience and asked would it be the same if I came today. He said yes, that is our policy now. Well, my policy is not to do ANY business with stores that promote and endorse such poor customer service. I work out of my home and had used Staples for my business supply needs for over a decade. Never again! There's too many other stores that actually care about providing their customers quality customer service. The most helpful sales people of the day. While having to wait 2-3 weeks to get my laptop back from Micro Center, I went to UMD for the remainder of the day (~70 minutes). I got to Staples a little before closing. Reno helped me. An ASUS Notebook PC sale was ending COB. I bought it w/2 year extended warranty/accident protection. Other than theft, it is covered. Some nice people, some not. Most of them don't know much about what's going on in their own store. I ordered some engineering prints and they didn't rotate the images and still tried to charge me the entire price. Most of the copy/print machines don't work and they staff don't bother to try and help. They mostly wander around and say they're too busy to help you. I use Staples for most of my printing across the country but I'll make sure not to come back to this one. Just save yourself time and grief and go somewhere else. read more

Staples on Frederick Road is a solid shop. They have all the inventory you have come to expect at a Staples, including a full service copy center. Their technology is good. Their staff are courteous and professional. Parking is easy and accessible. I have generally not had to wait excessively long in lines at the register. I give this Staples a thumbs up. read more

I like this Staples. I can usually find what I'm looking for and it's usually neat and clean. BUT, I deducted one star because the cashier didn't smile once during our transaction. She acted like she was doing me a favor by letting me check out. You would think that anyone who chooses to work in retail would like working with customers. In order to keep the female cashiers out of trouble, I'll add that this employee had an Assistant Manager tag.
