Do not come here for self serve copies! Their copiers do not print good color copies and they know it but don't care!! I came a few weeks ago and Martin (who was awesome) printed them for me because he knew the copies looked bad with self serve! Askar couldn't be bothered tonight, horrible customer service and absolutely nothing like the service i received 2 weeks ago. Went to do something for a return for Amazon and was given a hard time about a item not fitting into their boxes. So Staples only uses one size boxes for Amazon returns and if your product that you're returning, does not fit their boxes, the size that they have, they would not return your items to Amazon. I would think if you have a contract with Amazon to take items back you should have different size boxes in order to return items. read more

I was in an urgent need for hanging files and it wasn't gonna make it on time if I ordered it online. I remember this being here and since I also needed to make a stop at Ross next door, it was convenient. I found exactly what I was looking for (the last box at that) pretty easily. I had a few minutes to look around and did the whole price comparing thing. I really wish they could compete with online vendors because things here are pricey in comparison. I'm not sure if they do price matching, but if they don't, they should. A sale is always a sale, right? But I'm glad about their being here for that one thing I need. The staff here are so nice! Came towards the end of the night & was helped by a nice younger guy to buy some ink for my printer. He said we made his night for joking around with him a bit. Wish I got his name for this review! The store was nice & organized. I was able to find what I needed very easily. They even had "hot deals" near the cash registers where everything was really cheap. I'm sad that the Office Depot closed down off of 190th. This is my alternative. This review is in regard to the staff member at the copy and mailing section. I was in need of a copy machine since my printer broke down. I needed assistance in how to transfer info to the copy machine. He explained the options and it was an easy experience for printing and making copies. Second item to complete was to overnight a letter and package via UPS. The worker was managing both the copy area and mailing area in addition to fielding many questions from everyone who came up to the desk. He was so helpful and pleasant despite being so busy. I come to this Staples for my business printing as it's convenient. Each time if the order isn't correct there's an issue with the type of paper. I had an order where I brought my own paper & it was accepted by an employee. I came again on a different day & was told I couldn't use the paper cause it's for inkjet printers and they have laser printers. Now, that's totally fine but if it was accepted before then it should be accepted any other time. The rules shouldn't fluctuate depending on the employee at the printing department. read more

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this particular location. The Gardena / Harbor Gateway. The staff is excellent in general. The managers and long time employees go above and beyond to help me even when I'm being extra needy. The security also are welcoming and friendly. They are patient and never have any type of attitude with me. I'd have to say that the negative reviews were probably isolated incidents or when the store was particularly busy, I mean, it can get stressful. But mostly I've noticed it's due to the impatient and unkind customers. For the most part the staff does the best they can. I've witnessed some horrible customers get so mean to the employees. The Hispanic man with a beard and glasses then proceeded to ignore me and answered a call that was already on hold. While I was standing right then to him saying excuse me. I see some of the reviews for this store are not good. Although I have great reviews. I received such wonderful customer service from the employees at this store. From the security guard you greeted me as I walked in, to Jose who approached me to see if I needed help. I did need help and he helped me and didn't rush. Also since I was still in the store another employee named Raeshawn asked if I needed help and I did. He was very thorough in helping me and took his time to make sure I understood everything I was asking about. I spent a few mins in the filing supplies aisle. A short guy with a radio targeted me and approached me asking if I needed help. I said no, just deciding if I really needed this many'. He was amused by me and basically said for me to continue. He goes to my left side pauses and very obviously cranes his head around and is either staring at my ass or he's smelling my ass. A big guy with a radio has now crowded my right side. So essentially I am being corralled. Behind me and in front of me were the displays. I have no large bags or purse and I do have very fitting clothing on. Nowhere for me to hide the office supplies I was holding. The shorter guy was cocky and amused the entire time. We were profiled by the African American management female mid 50s and African American security female mid 40s, which resulted in my paid-for Staples bag of products being taken from my hand as well as my coworker opening her bag to check for "electronics". We never even purchased electronics... I was checking out mouse pads for my coworker but had to go the bathroom in the beginning. My coworker was wandering the store while I had to do my business and later she told me the Security Guard was following her. Then I come out of the bathroom and we get our stuff but Staples sent me a coupon for free cleaning supplies, my coworker decided not to get the mouse pad because there wasn't any pink ones. The security guard shows up again and starts following us all the way to the front when she asked me "if I purchased my febreeze" which she previously directed me to where the cleaning supplies were. (Here I am thinking she thinks we stole Frebreeze.) I had $15 coupons because my company purchases thousands of dollars in office supplies every year from Stapes. We went to this branch which I had been to previously without a problem. Today was DIFFERENT. So I pay for the things for the office: a Febreeze Air Freshener for the Car, Pendaflex File Folders, and a cheap Stapler. I was checking out other Staplers because staples sizes aren't always compatible. My coworker sees the security guard AGAIN. All of a sudden while I walking out with my purchased goods, I look back and my coworker is walking back into the store. Something was not right. I go back into the Store and the security guard is questioning whether or not our bags had something we did not purchase. Apparently the security sensors beeped, which I didn't hear at all. My coworker didn't even hear it. My co-worker just opened her purse to show the security guard there wasn't any stolen property. The Store Supervisor then took my bag (which I purchased in FULL) and my coworkers personal purse, my staples bag was bagged by the Manager personally and waves it near the scanner. This is evident of a failed security measure because you should never take anyone's bags. Another failed security measure, following us all the way to the cash register and talking on your walkie talkie while trailing us. This is WRONG on so many level. I hope the management here corrects this because my coworker and I felt victimized. I live in Arcadia and I have been a great Staples Customer. Not to mention that we were a preferred Staples customer... This calls into question security practices and borders of racial profiling my co worker. read more

I print at the west la locations all the time and this is the first one that does not do black/white pc printing even though they have the pricing for black and white posted on a sign right next to the computer kiosks. You are forced to print in color even if you're printing a black and white text document. The color printing is double the price as black/white. The store had it's VIP Party for local small business on July 9th. There must have been about 100 people walking around. There had been a mail out to the business with a $20 gift card to spend on just about anything in the store. You would think that a crowd that size would bring a store down but Renee, General Manager, and her managers, Kevin and Melissa, along with all the staff. Front of the store, Floor, and the guys at Easy Tech were on hand to answer technical questions. I've had my computer worked on by the guys at Easy Tech when it was infected a couple of years ago. I would recommend it. Just make sure you ask what services are free and the price on the others. Don't get caught off guard use common sense. This location has just about everything, except big desks. But I found cool stuff for my desk as well as coffee and treats to snack on. Make sure to stop by the $1 and $2 bins in the middle of the store where you can find cool stuff for back to school if you have kids. Made me want to go back to school! This is one of the newer stores, located just off the 110 and Redondo Beach Blvd. Next to a Ross and Anna's Linens. You have a full shopping experience! Please give raises or promote them for making this customer extremely happy. They printed and laminated 2- pictures for my sister who will be living with us from Hawaii.
