Frustrating way of doing business. Came to staples to print on a Saturday some documents. The lady at the print shop directed me to go to the copier and place my debit card and I'll be able to print. She asked if there are any questions just to look for her. So everything went well. I found out I needed to print some photo ID so I go to the print area and there's a guy there I ask for help. He tells me that he saw me do some work at the copyer and that I can do it there. So I follow instructions took me 15minutes to down load the photo send it to the email and got the code and print it out. I realize I need a photo paper so I get in line to the print shop again and when it comes my turn She tells me I can't do it there. I tell her I spent 15minutes there because the guy told me to do it there. She non chalant says "I have to do it here and walks away". No appologies and no remorse. Hope they can do better to the next customer on a non busy Saturday. So Frustrating. read more

Extremely rude! Came to do some Amazon returns. I had some in my text, email, and print. The very annoyed associate with tattoos on her hand (don't know her name) said, "Try to screenshot them if youre not ready, this is a very busy location." Literally no one on line? Then I tell her I'm ready and as I am going from code to code, she is drumming her fingers, tappjng her feet, and huffing and puffing. How rude are you? Thrre was one person behind me and I let them go in front. I only had 6 returns. Horrible customer service. read more

I had to get a set of 18 architectural drawings printed out and the associate behind the printing counter was very helpful. She was super quick at getting me price quotes on different size printing. Once I made the selection, bam! She had it done within in a couple of minutes. At first, I was a little concerned about getting the file from my phone/email to the printer but she literally had it done in under 5 seconds. Great service! read more

Came in with a walker after having knee replacement to return a lot of shorts that I ordered before surgery. The male associate who seemed like he was on the spectrum told me I had to go to the back of the line because I had more than ten returns and it was not fair to the other customers. I showed him my walker which he could clearly see and asked to make an exception to finish my return. He got very defensive when I expressed that I felt that was wrong policy and he started getting into a dialogue how his father had knee surgery and even he would have to wait at the back of the line. He was completely arrogant and disrespectful. I tried to be patient as he obviously exhibited some type of special needs but his arrogance was truly appalling. I complained to the manager who did absolutely nothing. Been coming to this store for 35 years but I will never shop here again. read more

I have been a Staples customer for so many years. They were always my go-to for office supples and even some technology. This review is pretty much the same from location to location: This Staples is conveniently located in a small strip mall on Jericho Tpke. Like all of their locations it's always an easy in and out to the main road. I am definitely a Staples fan.... These days I am just not as happy with their store upkeep. It is not with the team members, they are always helpful and I definitely felt their frustration when they are constantly out of items and the unfortunate part is that it's out of their control. It's a beautiful clean and bright store, but very few people. The store I was in (Commack) was a beautiful location and not very busy, why? My wife and I needed a few office supplies and were in the area. There are plenty of Staples in many areas. We were able to get the items we needed and get back on the road read more

Always some kind of nonsense at the checkout counter. Sometimes price is different then whats printed on the shelf. Or the cashier tries to sign you up for something . Latest visit after giving them another one of many chances, I was greeted with a from . Funny the two women in front of me got a huge smile . After my purchase I didn't even get a thankyou. I love how the store is open on Christmas Eve for me to be able to send some last-minute documents. I did forget one document at the copy and print service, which I was able to call in the store, and thankfully they found the document that I left. (very grateful for that). read more

This is a horribly run store. The manager can't answer a simple question like, "Why can't I send in plans ahead of time, not sit there and wait while they print, we had done it before." Instead he differed me back to the "print manager." The same person that didn't help the first time around. After wasting a half hour trying get answers from both these incompetent managers the "Print manager finally told me I could order online. That was really funny because we called the store the day before so the order would go smooth. We placed the order exactly how we were told to but apparently that person told us how to get a ticket so we can get a code to go to the store and wait "1/2 hour or more" while everything prints.‍ So if you like to crawl on broken glass, talk with incompetent people, or you have hours to waste in your empty days, this is the store for you. read more

I am very disappointed with the quality and selection Staples is now offering. Bulk office business prices are fair, but the retail prices for smaller needed quantities are out of control. Prices are 3x-4x what Kmart or Amazon are charging. Will rethink the smaller size prices to go elsewhere read more

I go to Staples to buy electronics because they are VERY good about their warranties and they always match competitors prices. The products such as binders, pens, paper etc can be found cheaper elsewhere so I tend not to buy those kind of items here. However, when it comes to Kindles, Camera, Laptops I always shop here. Customer service is great with returns, exchanges and again, replacing items damaged as long as you buy a warranty. Always spend the extra 50 bucks or so to get the warranty, it's worth it. One thing I don't like about this staples however is that anytime I use the fax machine and need assistance it is as if I'm invisible. I will stand at the fax copy center counter and nobody will get out of their chair to help. The staff in that area is quite different than the rest of the store because every employee behind the registers have always been helpful. One last perk about Staples, they are open later than any other store on Christmas Eve!!! Learned this last year when I was in tears trying to find a Kindle and Best Buy and Target had closed early, Staples saved me this Christmas!!!!! read more

Used the copy/print services to have work stuff laminated. They charged $100! And WASTED tons of space on the lamination paper which in turn made the cost skyrocket. I went there this morning 9am 1/5/2022 to make copies. I have never used the self services printers So I asked the girl Stacy at the printer counter for help She was passing me because she just finished helping a gentleman and she was with him for several minutes She was so nasty n told just read the instructions and went right past me . I followed the instructions but when I put my paper in to be copied I didn't see instructions how to start it so again I asked her how to start it and again she told me I told you read the instructions This was 9 am and she was this nasty I can imagine by mid day how she would treat people. If she hates her job she should quit or be fired . I guess if you are a man you might be treated better because she was very helpful too the man she was helping before me. I do have to say I believe it was the store manager who over heard this interaction and stepped in and helped me all he had to do was show me how to start it which he did in less than a minute. After going to the Huntington Station location and experiencing a difficult time with the copy man there -- see my review of it on the 49 Jericho Turnpike page -- I went into the Commack store, explained that what I needed I knew would be blurry (I needed a copy of a photo to do a graphite transfer to watercolor paper so didn't need a perfect rendering). Young woman with glasses, dark hair and fabulous nails told me that she would have to resize it and I told her to charge me whatever she needed to to do it. She printed out my copy, showed it to me (blurry as I expected and okayed) and charged me .36. Here's why the other guy at the HS location wouldn't do it: 36¢ is beneath his dignity. It's not like he works for a graphics artist company. He's a copy man. read more

Girl at the printing. Dept is quite nasty, stopped in to use print me service on 11/22 at about 3;30. Tried 3 machines none worked or displayed any notice of out of order, the girl at counter said nasty and curt I would have to wait till she rebooted the machines , all were down, she actually yelled at me as if I was not entitled to use them , then made me wait and would not print for me on her own printer behind counter. Not exactly customer pleasent. Staples in commack needs rebooting. read more

Used the print/copy service. Went in last night to have 2 irreplaceable paper items laminated. I was not made aware that since my items were delicate, the lamination process may ruin my IRREPLACEABLE items. After the first item was placed through the machine, and RUINED, it was obvious that the process would also ruin the second item. Well guess what folks, the employee ran it thru anyway and ruined the second item as well!!! When I inquired as to why he proceeded to continue to ruin my items, he said he didn't know. I then proceeded to speak to the manager, Dan, who basically told me "mistakes were made and there's nothing that can be done". Totally rude and patronizing. He admitted that he should have been watching his employee, but was caught up in something else. Is this how Staples trains their managers and employees? There are many other print and copy centers in the area...I throughly advise everyone to go anywhere BUT this staples. read more

Staff is pretty nice. Store is put together very good. Good parking; Don't walk in unless you have a coupon. I do most of my shopping on Amazon or Staples Online anyways. Not a bad place to go, especially if you need something right away. read more

I don't go to this Staples all that often. But when I do, I find the place very messy, with shelves in disarray, similar products in different places, and customer service people difficult to locate for assistance. It's very hard to find anything during the regular shopping season, but if you come here just before school and this place is 10x with long lines. I don't find the prices here are worth having to wade through the mess. read more

The management here is horrible at helping with customer service. They need to retrain their employees. Let me explain... Back to school shopping it was crazy and i already expected that (August 2008)... I needed a hard-drive for school and someone on the floor was able to help me and said he could hold the item for me. It was 5pm. He gave me his name & said i HAD UNTIL CLOSING TIME to go to customer service and pick it up. I returned about 20 mins before closing time to pick it up. I went to customer service and told the young girl there that the hard drive was being held for me by so & so who said i can pick it up later. Her response? that they "werent allowed to hold any items for anyone and that the hard drive that was on the counter was sold it to someone else who wanted it because it was sitting there for 2 hrs." Meanwhile my name was on it as per the sales associate from earlier who said i had until closing. if it wasnt allowed it should have NEVER been offered in the first place. But he was just being nice. *ahem* I was pissed off. I gave her the sales associates name that put it on hold for me and told her it technically was not even 9pm yet. The manager stepped in defending her employee and telling me that they are NOT allowed to hold any items for anyone and that the item was sitting there for a "couple" hours. Well excuse me. its not even 9 pm. The sales associate was doing me a favor and it was really nice of him to put it aside. As a manager she should then retrain her employees and learn to have better customer service skills. DO NOT GO HERE I have worked in retail before and have held items for people. At least i was courteous and succeeded in customer service. I dropped my items i was going to buy on the customer service desk and in a bin in front of the manager and walked out. You get what is expected when you have kids running the store. They don't know anything about customer service. The least they could do is fake a smile and not act like i'm bothering them when it comes to them doing their job. The best thing about the place is the print shop because they have adults working and managing. Don gets overwhelmed sometimes but that's what happens when you're understaffed and try to do 3 different projects at once. I had to go back 4 times because each time I went in my project wasn't done. (They said another 15 minutes each time... but I gave them a half hour each time. Still wasn't long enough.) He did realize he messed up and apologized for it in the end. It seems to me that upper management does not give their floor managers the propper resources or training to operate correctly. read more

So I go to stony brook staples and the scanner is broken not to mention there always running around with there head chopped off . One of the worst Staples I've been to. Poor training accounts for most of it. When you don't know something, the answer is "I don't know" or "Let me find out for you" not "There's no such thing". The lines move incredibly slowly, and no matter how long the line, they never send anyone else up to the registers to ring. Customer service is horrible. read more

I did some research online first and it brought me here. Great quality. i will definitely make a trip back to Suffolk County to go here when i need a refill. One of the worst experiences ever! I went in to have some printing and binding done that needed next day. After being told to go home and upload online, I gave them a flash drive but because it was encrypted, they didn't understand how to enter the password to unencrypt the file. I then connected with my laptop but because their internet was too slow, the small file wouldn't upload. One of the associates trying to help me was yelled at by the rude manager to stop, and I was told to call the 1800 number for help. I went home, uploaded the file and put the order in. Next day, went in. They couldn't find my order. Showed them the copy of the order, then all of the sudden my order was found. A "computer issue" happened, they needed 45 more mins, however, within 10 mins after leaving I got the email that my order was ready for pickup. So if want rude, stupid and lying service come here! read more

They advertise "Same Day Printing " service and are not able to deliver on that. States if in before 2pm, than should be ready by 8:30pm same day. Ordered two different items few weeks apart and one order took 2 days, and one I was told should be 2-3 days extra! Yes, it's the busy season, but they know that, and should either provide extra staff, or printers in order to handle the volume. They continue to advertise on their website that they can do same day printing, and do not even send you an email to let you know that it is delayed. When you call, their response is " we have a lot of orders". Of course you do! Either stop taking business from others that can deliver same day or keep good on your same day slogan. Deceptive business practice to know upfront that all stores are backlogged, yet not put a disclaimer on website BEFORE someone places an order. Also poor customer service to not even send a courtesy email notifying of the delay. read more
