3.21.25 I came to the store today for a TSA enrollment appointment. As you enter the store, it is at the tech support center counter to your right. The appointment started on time and only took five minutes to get my fingerprints and my photo taken. Aside from TSA enrollment, they also do passport photos. Other services provided at this location are: UPS shipping & drop off, tech services, recycling services, and printing services (copies, posters, business cards). I've purchased office supplies from here on occasion mostly for ink cartridges. I love all the services they provide and the added bonus is that they are only five minutes away from my house. read more

Discriminatory, Embarrassing, and Unprofessional Treatment on 1/11/26 - Columbia, MD Location I am writing on behalf of my sister, who was treated in a discriminatory, dismissive, and humiliating manner by a supervisor named Tracy at the Staples location in Columbia, MD this afternoon. My sister is currently living out of a hospital as her young daughter is recovering from a stroke. She is working remotely under extreme emotional and physical stress, which is why she used Instacart to purchase a printer. When she went into the store to return the printer and purchase another one, Tracy told her, "I don't trust Instacart" before my sister even had the opportunity to pull up her receipt in the app. She also indicated she didn't know the policy. This statement was inappropriate, unprofessional, and made in a public setting, causing my sister to feel embarrassed, judged, and singled out. It tarnished her dignity as a customer and as an individual and caused her additional anxiety and emotional distress during an already devastating time. This is not the first negative interaction she has had with this same supervisor, and she strongly believes there is a pattern of discriminatory treatment. I later spoke directly with Tracy by phone, and she confirmed that she made the statement about not trusting Instacart. During that call, she was rude, defensive, and became aggressive in tone when I expressed my concern about how my sister was treated. Customers should never be made to feel distrusted, disrespected, or publicly embarrassed. Staples leadership should take this matter very seriously. read more

I was in there store and was in the process of printing out pictures for my business as my husband is also in the store finding the things he needs the manager approaches my husband asking if he needed help he said no she walks off and states were about to close and he lets her know that I'm still here and that we're almost done with everything . She then walks over to let he worker know that we're closing . We didn't feel comfortable being in there after my husband told me what happened so I didn't get to finish my purchase and we were followed out of the store . That's unacceptable following us like as if we were trying to take anything . She didn't value our money or us being there . read more

I went to the store to check the pricing for some items that I needed printing. I returned the next day and my quote was twice as much and they told me that they had to send it out, they weren't sure when they would have it ready, and it was going to be distorted. Also, the person behind the counter Mikala was the most rude, dismissive, and condescending, person that I have delt with in decades. I'm glad there are other options in the area. I will NEVER go there again. read more

This location was lacking on several levels. Lesson learned, anything that can go wrong, does go wrong. At a recent work function we drug our printer along with us to allow for quick turnaround on any prints we needed. Before we had left, we had ordered some toner cartridges, but not enough. With that we needed to find a nearby Staples to fulfill our need. We did a quick run to the nearest location. With us knowing the cartridge we needed we came prepared, or at least we thought we had came prepared. When we arrived, the shelves were packed for every printer but the one we had. It must have been a popular item, or they did not have enough to go around. The printer takes four separate toner cartridges, and out of the four, we found one. Top complicate it a bit, there was no employee on the floor for us to ask if there were any in stock that we could not see, or if they had any nearby. When we got to the register we did end up asking and the guy went to look. Nice of him, but that kind of held up the line for everyone else. He also checked to see if other stores had it nearby and we did end up having to go elsewhere. read more

Store has good selection and is well organized. Shelves are neat and tidy. That accounts for two stars. That said, I was a little off put by the customer service I received on a Saturday afternoon. First, the employee's body language signaled annoyance of needing to pause restocking in order to take their post at the register. Next, there wasn't any warm greeting or asking if everything went well today, or a "How may I help you." Finally, the encounter ended with the employee concluding with, "I'm done with you" and not, "Thank you for shopping at Staples." I understand that some people are more likely to leave a negative review rather than something more positive for an extraordinary experience. However, I will return to this location in the future for my office supply needs. read more

I rarely shop this store for several reasons the staff is rude and lazy including the "store manager Tracey" At was there at 4:05 on Sunday 5/18/25. I had my own bags, brand new and clean. Harrison was the one who waited on me - he never spoke until I spoke to him regarding using my Staples rewards. He left my binders sitting on the counter never even asked if I wanted to pay the money for a bag. He looked at me when I gave him my brand new clean and washed bags - he looked at me like I had 3 heads. Kept staring at me I just picked my binders up and started bagging myself. When my daughter in law, who was with me making a purchase and asked if the sales price came up - he said I don't know. She had to walk back to where the items were in store to check the price. Again he just stood there made no attempt to bag the purchased items - I again bagged the items. This only gets worse once I got in the car I called for the so called store manager. Tracey who probably never had any customer service training. I told her about the poor service I just received from Harrison. I never some many yeahs from a manager in my life. It appeared that she DID NOT CARE about a what I was saying. I even told her I have been using Staples as a business member since 2009 and never any other Staples store been treated this way. I will only go to the Annapolis store from now on or order online Never will I go back to this store location in Columbia. Tracey and Harrison need to be retrained or find a job that does not require interacting with others. If we bring our bags because we are not paying a store 10 cents per bag - bag our purchases. We,the customer, are paying your salary so treat us with respect and realize we are not your phone screen or your video games - we deserve to be spoken to and put a smile on your face and have eye contact with others. It's a wonder they're still in business. Where do I begin? Regarding their so-called printing services: 1. Not enough workers 2. One person trying to support far too many orders 3. Copy machines are antiquated, can't support cardstock? Why have them? 4. Many copiers out of order 5. The ones that work are far inferior to...well...the other guys. 6. Paper cutters they have for public use are for children...little children. They don't cut. They don't work. 7. I was in the Columbia Maryland Snowden location this morning and I placed an order but I was told I needed to provide my email for the order to be processed. Like most people my email address is private and I don't give out to anyone and since this was only a $5.00 purchase I was not going to give it out. The Manager was about ready to turn me away when I suggested we make something up. Which she did. Staples has it's policies and guess what so do I. Got my TSA pre-check done here recently. Made an appointment online. Brought in my passport and paid $85 via credit card! Did some finger prints, got my pic taken and was in and out. The lady managing the print services at this Staples in Columbia on Snowden River Parkway could NOT have been more COLD, clear, BY THE BOOK, and DEFENSIVE on what my responsibility is as a customer : which is simply EMAIL my image copy. TOUGH on me, if I 1). Am standing in front of her with it on my phone. 2). I can't email from my phone because I don't know how or don't remember my Apple password. 3). I live 40 minutes away. AND HER TRAINEE started HELPING me and she took the phone out of his hands and told him "We can't touch their phones". She gave it to me and said "I'm sorry but we can't help you with this part". 4). She was like a POLICEMAN telling me to move on or comply to continue standing at her counter. ZERO WILL TO TALK OR OFFER ANY way to recreate a basic text image or anything. Just a COLD interaction! No matter the Staples location I frequent, I find that the Print Center is always busy, yet so understaffed. It can get pretty frustrating when you're looking to be in and out quickly. I ordered holiday cards using their user-friendly online designer and paid upfront for a quick pick-up. When I arrived, my order was ready (great!), but there was a misprint that resulted in a dark colored box around one of the .png images used. I showed them the original file and it did not have this box, so they offered to reprint for me. This meant waiting around until the order was done, which was what I wanted to avoid by ordering ahead. Unfortunately, there was only one employee working that evening, so he was a bit overwhelmed with all of the customers/questions, so this resulted in a longer than usual wait time. I felt bad and was patient, but wish they would consider this when scheduling their staff. That said, for those who have holiday card/postcard/thank you card needs, they came out beautifully on a nice thick cardstock, with full bleed and the colors matched exactly. I've been coming here for years. I'd buy school supplies for my nieces & nephews. Now, I buy school supplies for my friends' kids in the Bahamas. This is a smaller sized Staples. Although adequate in supplies, if you want something specific, you may want to go online. There are decent back to school sales. Parking is sufficient and staff are always courteous & available. Suggestion: It would be nice if the company offered a "pennies as a thanks" promotion to teachers with current picture ID badges. They'd register for the promotion and be limited to $100. You could offer selected items for pennies (under a dollar) at the end of the back to school promotion or do it at the end of the year. This will help teachers stock up for the school year. read more

I came to this Staples location to drop off a laptop battery. The recycling box for batteries are no longer at the entrance of the Staples store. I had to ask two different Staples employees, where I could dispose of the laptop batteries. The second Staples employee told me, that he would dispose of the battery. I also had to clarify what type of battery that I possessed. There should be signage in the store directing customers where to dispose of their laptop batteries. read more

Terrible service on the morning of October 30, 2022. Rude customer service specifically from the girl in print and marketing services. Not the one that was there before they open but the one that arrived at 10 and opened the doors. After she told us she couldn't help in the print area due to orders already in progress, she laughed and was rude to us after we asked if we could put additional services to expedite this request. Nasty comments from here when she is suppose to be customer service. I do not recommend anyone come to this staples after having service like hers. Rude and impatient, and helpless. We took our services elsewhere and thank god we did because the customer service was 100% better. read more

I'm giving Staples 4 stars solely based on their print center. I believe her name is Bianca and she is cool, calm and gets the job done. These print centers are usually full of flustered people who are trying to calm crazy customer demands. I had to print a 460 page book and she gave me a coupon that brought it down to $47. She recommended printing holes and just putting in a binder rather than spending money on a spiral bound option. Sold. They accidentally printed it on only one side of the paper and Bianca offered to reprint but I didn't want to waste it. The rest of their store is okay. I have no idea how they stay in business. They don't have many options and everything is expensive! read more

The staff here is the most patient and knowledgeable about their products. I am impressed that their end goal wasn't just selling their products and clearing the inventory. Talking about customer services, instead of helping customer at the printers, they are texting and on the phone... really people. I went to get some printing done and when I ask to get the cutting board, it damaged my some of my copies which I already paid for it, so I asked the person at the counter, he said if I cut them for you, I have to charge you 3 dollars per page... really people... we are in a printing shop and you can get good tools for the customers. read more

Ordered a laptop online for store pickup. Trying to do the rebate now. I should be able to do online. It won't allow me. Customer service was unable to assist. So I have to fill out a form and mail in. This process is not easy. Takes you from site to site. Not worth it. I think the rebate deal is a scam. Should not be this hard. The cashiers are generally nice but the copy center is a nightmare. Three machines and in any given month only one is working causing long waits. People try to avoid the counter because Bianca is lesbian and discusses her personal business with customers. She is rude, disrespectful and gossips about customers right in front of them with the black male assistant manager. Stopped by to try and get some posters laminated for my classroom. They're too smallish posters (11x7-ish) and was told it would take over 4 hours for it to be finished and then the employee walked away. The other employee behind the counter stayed to talk, but the first one walked away saying how busy he was, but was just standing there staring at me while I talked to the other guy. Meanwhile, I went to a different staples and had both posters beautifully done in under 5 minutes. I ordered my holiday cards from this store this year. The online ordering was simple and I had a great deal from Groupon. I was so excited because I love to send out holiday cards each year. Well, I left the store in tears. When we first walked into the empty store with no one in front of us, we were told to hang on just a minute, no big deal. Until 10 minutes later we were still waiting, someone else came in to ship something and the workers helped them for 5 minutes then went back to what they were doing before, asking us again to wait. After 5 more minutes this happened again. Mind you we had already paid online and were just picking up an order. My husband finally went to another department to ask if someone could help. We were told a manager would be right over. The manager on duty began to slowly walk over stopping to chat with another worker and send a text on the way over to us. He then could not find our order. He asked the photo/copy/shipping guy to help, he seemed upset but came over, finally finding our order and handing it to us. When I got outside to look at the cards closely I found that the printing was off center and not even on all the cards. Needless to say, we will not be ordering from them next year. read more

I received half of what I paid for and then couldn't get help over the phone. I went in and it was like pulling teeth to have the problem fixed. The Copy center made the mistake but I was treated as if I were being an inconvenience to them! I wish I would have read a review before I even placed my order.
