This review is solely for their Print and Copy section of the store. My printer tends to jam when printing so I decided to outsource my printing to the industrial printers at Staples. What a nightmare..... My first experience- Staples gave me an email confirmation that my print order would be ready at 7 p.m. the following day. I arrive and there is a multitude of people waiting for their orders which have been delayed by printing problems. Strike one Staples - I finally get my order at 8 p.m. I was happy I received my print order even though I was inconvenience. I decided to try again the following week as my first experience was probably a fluke. Second Experience - This time when I arrived I was told my order had been lost. They cancelled my order and refunded me. Strike two Staples. Third Experience - Today I went in and tried to do the self printing. It is 12 cents per sheet black and white. Of course it is automatically set to color which is way more expensive. I set to the correct settings and I'm about to print when an associate tells me that the printer is not working. He tells me it will take me all night to fix. Strike three Staples. So I walk out. Flustered. What kinda scam copy and print shop is Staples running anyways? The print department is atrocious. All those printers but 1 man to process the line - 20 minute wait, 3 person line and grew longer as I waited longer. Finally after getting my request in the girl working the computer inside was tasked to print 2 pages, 10 copies amounting 20 prints on nice paper. After the 20 minutes I was told to wait 15 minutes as she processed the print job, followed up 20 minutes later only to be told that I have to wait at least another 15 minutes just to see if they would do it. As a person in the customer service field this was not acceptable. No person in a first world country should have to waste an hour of their life because the shitty staff is bad at time and task management. Staples, please staff more or retrain if you want people to use our print services. read more

I was at this Staples on Tuesday morning around 11:00. Because of the coronavirus, there was a limit of 3 items on disinfecting wipes. So I saw they had 3 containers of wipes packaged together so I thought that was considered as 1. I got 2 packages, walked around the store, employees including the manager saw me holding 2, no one said anything to me. I go to put my stuff on the cashier counter and the manager (short female with really short blond hair) runs up to the counter, grabs 1 package and said "I don't want to be mean but there's a limit of 3" and then runs off with the wipes. So I said to the cashier, I thought since they were packaged together, it was considered 1. The manager runs back and says "no, it's 3" and runs off again. She was extremely rude and never gave me the opportunity to speak. What kind of example is she setting for her employees? It's acceptable to be rude and dismissive to your customers? I try to be a genuinely good person. I love leaving positive reviews for my fellow human beings who deserve it. This Staples, however, has really made me re-evaluate the vicious aspect of what sociologists, Marxists, teenage rebels and hippie professors refer to as "unrestrained capitalism." I had to fax an extremely important document which was not going through in another Staples based in Forest Hills. In print, the cover sheet states "complimentary." I had to drive my sorry butt all over to Bayside, duck from my ex girlfriend's zip code and white picket fence and park in the parking lot. I went in to get a project binded for my engineering class. I had made it perfectly clear how i wanted it. And one simple minded employee could not follow the basic directions and messed up my project. He tried fixing it and printed out a new copy and wrinkled my project. I have spent 3 months on this project and I would think their employees know how to take care of peoples belongings but i guess not. The best part is he crumpled a piece of paper that i needed and all he had to say was "sorry". Im NEVER going back to staples again. read more

I rushed home put something together, and ran to staples to make copies and have to bounded. Raj and Juan saved me. They were unbelievably accommodating and I was able to receive my portfolios within minutes!! IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS IT WOULD BE EVEN BETTER. I came to print a poster for a research presentation I'm doing and I asked for 24x36 poster, with the edges trimmed and laminated. They said it would be done by 4pm. So I came back to a poster that was untrimmed, unlaminated and HAD SCRATCHES ALL OVER! Are you kidding me!? The people apologized saying they weren't sure who did the order but they would reprint it and it would be ready in the morning. I came back the next morning and guess what? This time it was printed, trimmed and laminated but there were actual bubbles and scratches all over my poster. Then the guy is telling me to relax? Ridiculous. I am shocked by the negative reviews (particularly from people who want to hoard ppe supplies). That said, I have been to this store on numerous occasions and recommend this location. They have a convenient parking lot and are well stocked with supplies. I am not a fan of this stores layout but I do manage to find what I need. The customer service at this location really needs to be overhauled. I went to the Printing Center in order to print some urgent work. I waited nearly an hour to use a workstation computer because two of the pcs were not working. The wait itself would not have been a problem if the workers within the store had made any effort to try to accomodate me in any way. No one asked if I was waiting to use workstation. No one bothered to suggest any alternatives. The only response I got was "Ma'am other people have paid to use the computer !! " My concern is not with the people using the computer, my concern was with the lack of help from the staff in order to find a solution or at least acknowledge that I had a long wait. I tried to buy printer ink, but the way they have the ink display set up behind the counter makes the selection hard to look at. It also didn't help that the person who worked at the printer ink section had no idea the type of ink I was asking for. I eventually found the ink but it required me to hop up and down to see over the shelf they had hiding it. I also attempted to use the computer work station area to print some documents, but clicking print just opened a blank page and didn't actually do anything, so pretty much the money I spent at the workstation was pointless. read more

Why won't they let me give these guys 0 stars!! I was trying to make programs for my cousin's wedding, which was that weekend, and this guy, Juan (?) made it seem like he would take care of us. He assured us that it would be done by that evening, 5pm. When we roll by at around 6, he had already left and didn't even START the printing. And, to top it off, he lost the paper we gave him to use. We called the next day to complain about him. Juan picked up and we asked for the manager. He lies to us and says he's the manager...WTF???? Typical Staples store located in Bayside. they have a parking lot, but it is small and will be full during peak office/school supply shopping periods. Store is well laid out, and not very cluttered. They do have plenty of check out counters available. Street parking on Northern is hit or miss, so if the lot is full drive down one of the side streets, just don't block anyone's driveway. read more

Unfortunately customer service is seriously lacking. I called in seeking a 'telescoping art or poster tube' for the transport of these types of items among luggage. I called first because, another location did not have them despite the fact that they were advertised on the staples website and I did not have much time. I called a couple staples stores and they clarified what I wanted and checked their stock and confirmed that they did not have them. At this location the phone rep. immediately and confidently reported that they had a whole aisle of telescoping poster tubes. With that encouragement, I traveled there and searched up and down the aisles without success. The customer service rep there let me know that they did not have any and the manager apologized but also took the tone that it was an honest mistake that the phone rep had made explaining that she probably thought I was talking about mail tubes. There was a complete absence of the recognition that the discordance between a what a customer is asking for and what the representative thinks that customer asking for should be recognized when the names of the items are so distinct from each other. That is: if one knows of a mail tube yet a person is asking about a telescoping art or poster tube, that difference in names should prompt the consideration the the customer might be asking for something different then what the rep is thinking. It should also prompt the rep to clarify and resolve the discrepancy. Reps from other locations did this. One even asked for the item number to be certain (which I was more than happy to provide). Not this location. Talking to the manager makes me believe it is the culture of this store to just take their best guess....give you an answer and get you off the phone and who cares whether it is wrong or right. I also was impressed that the person felt like there was a whole aisle of them...if it was the mail tubes...the person got that wrong too...they were confined to a five foot wide display. Go here if you you want exaggeration, misinformation, your time wasted and dismissive customer service. If you want office supplies and related products you would be better off at another office supply store. In fact you'd probably be better off at Walmart. read more

Ordered an item online in store with an associate on Wednesday, he assured it would be a two day delivery, so I'd get it by Friday. Friday came and went- no package. I call main 800# on Monday they say I should get it by this Wednesday, almost a week later. She then goes on and says how the in store associate should not have told me two days cause that's inaccurate. I needed this item urgently and now everything is delayed. Ordered 5x7 Christmas cards. Horrible experience. 1. Went to pick up order 24 hours after it should have been ready and they had no record of it. Got attitude about it. 2. Picked up cards an hour later, cards were cut to 4x6, making photos off center, and had heads cut off at the eyebrows. Color was perfect I them, though. +1 for that. 3. Got attitude from print shop manager,said that I must have approved for them like that to be trimmed like a drunken mule took the pics. 4. Print manager has no cue how to rectify this situation. 5. Store manager assures me it will be fixed somehow. 6. Got call cards are ready, pick them up. Hot mess! Right size, contrast completely off. Parking is not that horrible for me. I mean it can be a tough crowd but there will be a spot. A woman with short light brown hair is super nice. One complain... copy center. 1. 59 cents for color copies are ridiculous. I use to come here and give them my USB for them do print out pictures. 4x6. Not all of my pics are that size and I need their professional help. And now they make you do it yourself. You put your credit card in the machine, they charge you by the minute and per page. Absolutely horrible experience here. I called on two separate occasions to find out if I could recycle my television here as they were listed by the Department of Sanitation as a recycling center. Both times I was told that they accepted tv's and that I could come in anytime before closing. When I got there, I was told by a helpful employee that tv's were not accepted after all; she was also kind enough to confirm that yes, I had called the right Staples. Unfortunately, a manager came by (woman with short, gray hair) and gave me an attitude, telling me that they clearly don't accept tv's and that it was listed on the website and on the board in the physical store (both of which I was not aware of). She barked out that all her employees knew the rules and that she didn't know who I had spoken to twice. She spoke in an extremely condescending tone and certainly ruined my experience there. It's sad to see how far downhill this Staples has gone. I remember going there since I was little shopping for school supplies and had nothing but pleasant experiences. But clearly, the current management there is incompetent so I will no longer be shopping here. read more

More than a few years ago, when I was in the market to buy a new camera, even though I found better prices online, I decided to purchase one at this location. Paying more for the service I received was valuable. Furthermore, after my service contract expired, I had trouble with the same camera. I went back get it fixed, and even though my camera's service contracts was expired, Staples technician helped me out without a charge. There you have it I paid more but it was valuable. Recently, needed help with my printer which I purchased from here, The problem was the ink cartridges. For the convenience and cheaper price I purchased the replacement cartridges on line but it proved to be a hassle because it lasted about a dozen prints and they all dried up. A sales associate/manager, upon hearing my problem, took the time to explain th dos and don't s and she was very professional. Thank you Kendall! If she isn't a manager, she should be one. I hope your supervisors read this review and promote her. I know retail is on its decline for people are turning to the Internet, but when you have a kind and knowledgeable professionals that help you with your purchase, this may add up to savings as well as doing the good of supporting the local businesses. read more

I have to give this location 5 stars!! After sending a fax, I inadvertently left my debit card in the machine! I immediately called the store and a very nice Sales Associate, Mary, began the search for my card. In the meantime, I headed back to the store. As I entered and made my way to the fax machine, I asked if anyone has seen my card. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the Assistant Sales Manager, Yogi had recovered my card and locked it up in a safe place!
