Great service even though they were short staffed and had a lot of customers in the store. We didn't have an appointment either and we were able to be seen within 5 minutes of sitting. Our whole transaction was less than an hour with all the tests and us taking our time looking for frames. Ask for Martha she was fantastic! One of the best experiences in customer service! read more

This place is horrible! We came in to check our eyes and we paid $200 dollars. We were waiting for the doctor to come in and the lady in front of us was arguing to the worker. It turns out their machine was broke yesterday and today and didn't even tell us that it was. What a bunch of lazy and crooked money wanters. Now we have to wait 3 weeks, for the machine to work again and I don't have the time. I strongly disapprove of this place. read more

Great customer service. The doc did an extremely thorough exam. Stephanie provided excellent customer service in helping me choose the right frames. She was very patient in working with my budget as well. Overall, an excellent place to get reasonable glasses! I highly recommend this place and plan to come back. read more

"I can see clearly now the rain is gone...Emily at Stanton Optical surpasses anything I have ever experienced. I can see and I feel beautiful again! Stanton Optical Passes Any Test With Flying Colors"! My name is Renee. I am 55 and a trifocal wearer. I am very shy and held off on getting much needed glasses at a late age. I just did not like how they looked on me. First my problem was getting used to progressives. I did not like how lined lenses looked at all which simply intensified my shyness. That was quite a feat. You see, when I go to try on glasses, I really can't see what they look like on me unless they are my prescription. I've been around and lots of sales people are eager to sell... but when I get them, I hate how I look. About 3 months ago at another optical place...I explained my dilemma. I also said my family is very far away and my youngest US Marine son is great at helping me choose frames, but he is away. I also explained I am disabled and on disability and really can't afford lenses but need to be able to see. I told her I need help choosing glasses...she did and truthfully, I got the very best prescription I have ever had... I could see great... but when I looked in the mirror, I felt aged, and fading, and really didn't want to hold my head up in public. Then I remembered STANTON and went in to the store on S Mooney in Visalia. That is where I think my life changed in the most wonderful of ways...I met "EMILY". I explained my situation and with GREAT EMPATHY she listened intently and we connected heart to heart. In a flash she went thru the store carefully choosing glasses... She sat with me...and her personality immediately lifted my spirits and gave me such hope!!! I have never ever experienced such compassion and professionalism combined in this 5 Star woman bombshell! I felt as if I was on top of the world in a high end store New York! She treated me as if I was extremely important to her. Emily is the most amazing optical sales person I have ever ever encountered. She has changed my life. I get compliments...I feel more youthful again, I want to change my wardrobe and get a makeover! I can hold my head up...people give me compliments on my glasses! That is a first for me with eyeglasses. I know that competition is healthy in this profession, but where can you find the best value for money??? Hands Down The Stanton Optical On South Mooney In Visalia. And be sure to ask for the beautiful EMILY. She will make you see clearly and feel beautiful again no matter your age. I mean I have never ever seen anyone like her. When I got my glasses and got home and carefully looked in the mirror... I wept with joy. It was soooo difficult on disability to save to get glasses and this woman went above and beyond. I felt embraced... I felt like family...Seriously...I was treated like a cherished family member. If you want to know where the best value on frames and lenses RUN TO...Emily at Stanton Optical in Visalia, she is high energy, on the ball and won't disappoint. I felt like Miss America...and she transformed my life. I can't thank her enough. Please if anyone reads this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE duplicate this very special woman. Please give her a raise and a promotion. She should be promoted and highly compensated and recognized to the highest degree. Send her on a well deserved 5 star vacation all expenses paid to the destination of her choice. She changed my life forever. She treated me like I was Melina Trump and assured I felt catered with the highest of honor. WOW...EMILY IS EXCEPTIONAL...A RARE JEWEL...Stanton Optical Has An Ace In The Hole With Emily...If they are smart they will place her in a position to duplicate. The world needs hundreds of thousands of Emlly's... Emily if you read this I mean every word. I am crying while typing this... and these are tears of joy. I feel like I won the lottery....God Bless You Sweetheart! read more

I'm a little bit surprised by the lower rating, but I do understand that some have been dissatisfied by this place. I'm definitely not one of them however! I walked into this location because I was in need of new glasses. I was greeted in a very friendly manner by several staff members. Within 10 minutes I was signed in and waiting for an eye exam. The exam was fairly straightforward and to the point. I was then seated with a specialist who went over everything in detail with me. I admit that this place is a little bit pricey, but considering the fact that I was able to pick up the new glasses the next day instead of the usual 2 week wait like more traditional optometrists, you do get what you pay for. Plus, a month later when the kids I work with scratched up my lenses, it cost me nothing to get new lenses. Anywhere else and I would have had to pay for a new pair. I would definitely return here and recommend it to people. read more

I needed new glasses and I heard about this store so I went there. I had a special problem with the glasses. I recommend this store, I would go back there the next time I need glasses. read more

I've been having issues lately with my new prescription glasses from Stanton optical. After 3-4 months of different doctors opinions and re-evaluations to correct the issue I was having with my new lenses, I went in just wanting a refund and was honestly over it. That was until the Manager Justin helped me out. This guy went absolutely above and beyond to make sure I did not leave a dissatisfied customer. Not only did he correct the problem I was having with my new lenses but he made absolutely sure the new prescription he was ordering me was going to work out to save me another trip back into their office. Justin knows exactly what he's talking about, he's extremely professional, and isn't just another salesman trying to get you to spend money. He genuinely helped me out and I couldn't be more satisfied with his service. I can honestly say Justin is a huge reason why I'd consider coming back to Stanton optical at the Mooney location. Thanks for all the help Justin. read more

Normally I do not write reviews on any business unless it is positive. I understand that everyone has a bad day but this place takes the cake. First, the Dr. gives me the wrong prescription, then when I go back for follow up they do not have me on the schedule so I have to wait. The new Dr. fixed my prescription but the girls never took the original prescription out of the system so I get the wrong prescription. I call them but the girl that answer was in a bad mood and was rude. I call the corporate office to fix the issue and they assure me that it will get taken care of immediately. Long story short, it took 7 phone calls and 6 weeks later to get my prescription. I will never go back to this place. By the way, the only break I got was 20% discount because I took my own frames and got contact lenses. read more

Scheduled an appointment for 12pm and arrived 10 minutes early. At almost 1pm still waiting. I had to reschedule so that I wouldn't be late for work. There was not one person that had been called in the entire period. I am here today after calling and scheduling a contact exam for 1:30pm and told that they don't do contact exams on Sunday. I was dropped off and now sitting outside in the heat waiting for a ride home due to their scheduling area. Bad enough the glasses I have are not working as they should and primarily because the prescription is wrong. I received these glasses from here a few months back which was a whole other complaint. This also is not the first time I had to leave because the wait aaa entirely too long. No respect for people or their time. read more

Thank you so much for the excellent customer service! I've been coming to this location for a few years, and I noticed the level of customer care has greatly improved. Special thanks to Anthony and Juliana for the best customer service- your thoughtfulness, concern and professionalism was exemplary. I definitely recommend this location. read more

Stanton Optical is the most incompetent and unprofessional eyeglass company I have ever been to. What was supposed to be a free eye exam and buy one/get one frames, turned in to $345.00 for 2 pair of eyeglasses that are WORTHLESS! My eye exam was done by video conference without asking a single question about my vision history. I was given a prescription (after my questionable exam was done) and I selected 2 pairs of frames for them to make my new eyeglasses. When I picked up my glasses, only one pair was ready because, according to one of the employees, the lab machine was broke and the lab manager quit and there was chaos. When I tried the pair on, I COULD NOT SEE the wall in front of me! I told the girl I couldn't see out of them and she said, "oh, let me clean them for you. Now they're perfect." I must look like an idiot. NOPE! They were still the same - I couldn't see out of them. WRONG PRESCRIPTION! The manager, Edgar Negrete, said they would do a re-check exam. At that point I was not trusting them to make my lenses so I asked for a refund. Mr. Negrete said, "No. I am not giving you a refund. It is company policy." Against my better judgment, but to give them the chance to make it right, I went ahead and went back 2 days later for a "re-check exam." They gave me a different prescription than the one they just gave me 2 days earlier and made 2 different prescription eyeglasses! When I complained to the manager, Mr. Negrete, and told him these are two different prescriptions, he told me "Go home, go to sleep and when you wake up in the morning, they will be perfect." This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I told him I wanted a refund and he said, "No, I am not giving you a refund. This is company policy." I asked him for a copy of the 'company policy' and he gave me a flyer that says if you are not completely satisfied, they will issue you a refund. When I read this company policy to Mr. Negrete, he said, "I am not giving you a refund." I asked him for his boss's name and he said I am not giving it to you. ?!?!?! He insisted that I wear these eyeglasses and that I would get used to them. I told him if I wear these eyeglasses out of here and get in my car and drive out of your parking lot, I will get in a wreck because I CANNOT SEE out of them. He just shrugged his shoulders. I am prepared to sue Stanton Optical for not only giving my the WRONG PRESCRIPTION two times, but for the manager Edgar Negrete insisting that I wear lenses that will cause my eyes more damage. My visit to Stanton Optical as a first customer was the best experience I've had. Delia Ramos-Cano helped me tremendously. My prescription did cost more then others, but Ms.Delia helped me save money on both pairs of my glasses. She even offered me a way to pay for my glasses in payments. She included a 2 year frame & lens warranty for both pair of my glasses, and UV Coating for both pairs as well at no extra cost. I would recommend anyone to Stanton Optical. read more

Omg ! What great service I was thinking I needed glasses so I signed up at work and when I was ready I made calls to office within my network. I got nothing but "no new patients" to waiting weeks or months for appointment. I walked into Stanton and meet Julianna. From the start she was very helpful and she wasn't sure about getting exam that day but she talked to doctor staff and was able to get me appointment later that day. Before I left she got my insurance info so it would be ready when I returned I ended having to call my insurance company because Stanton was out of network and they insisted I use a doctor within the network and after I explained that it would take weeks or months to get appointment it didn't seem to matter to my insurance provider so I kept appointment with staton. When I returned I explained the situation with my insurance and Juliana immediately started working on it . So after the exam it turned out i needed glasses and Juliana with care and understanding started explaining my options and I did get two pair of glasses at a GREAT PRICE ;) she went above and beyond my expectations by having my glasses ready that evening even though they were minutes away from closing after our conversation I was so impressed with her service thank you Juliana when I put my glasses on for the first time all I could say was WOW I couldn't believe what I was missing I could see the outside world so clear more than I could imaging. I would have lost interest if it hadn't been for Juliana's excellent care and I would have missed out of crystal clear vision ! read more

I had an appointment and when I entered I was not greeted, just pretty much ignored. I was waiting to see if any of the employees would acknowledge me. I finally discovered that there was a sign in sheet so I put down my name. I overhead the optician ask a man if he has been helped. The customer responded they have been waiting. He then asked the customer if he was given the paperwork to complete and he responded no. The optician then informed him it would be about a half hour wait. I went over to the sign in sheet, crossed my name off in front of the optician and walked out. He never said a word to me. The place gave me a bad feeling as soon as I walked in and so glad I walked out. read more

Placed my order for 2 pair of glasses. One pair was ready but I had to return twice to get them straightened. The second pair took over a month to get done. This is the used car sales lot of eyeglass places. The staff is nice enough, which is the only reason for two stars, but the wait is ridiculous and the cost is NOT what they advertise. Spent a lot more than anticipated and didn't like the way the final transaction was handled. Lots of sneaky add-on costs. I needed the glasses so I bought them, but I will not be back. I have my usual optometrist, but was in a pinch due to my normal optometrist being on vacation. I went in and the staff seemed friendly. I notified them that I was in for contact exam, immediately they began up selling me a brand I did not use or care to know about... I told them I wear AVO and only want my Rx for AVO. Turned out the optometrists still wrote me the RX for the other brand. After my exam Stanton optical attempted to state they could not release my Rx unless I purchased something from them. WHICH IS A LIE, and ILLEGAL. They must release your RX to you. Anyways. He no longer is at that office. I returned for them to fix the error and the "assistant manager" Delia Ramos told me I would need to pay for another exam due to the optometrist no longer being there, and there is nothing else they can do for me... currently waiting for corporate to get back to me... I made an appointment and showed up. No greeting no hello. Signed in and waited to be seen. About 10 minutes later a lady comes in and asked me if I had an appointment and what time did I come in. I answered her questions she then told me that she would have to reschedule and pointed at another couple and said they have appointments at 6:00 and 6:30 and are still waiting. I told her I drove an hour and she said I could get an appointment for next day. I told her out of courtesy she should have called me instead of having me drive an hour. If I could give a negative star I would! I have never taken the time to write a review about a business, but this place is by far the worst business I have ever come across! I ordered glasses and was told by the girl I would have them within the week(only if I got them that day) so I bought them. Almost 2 MONTHS and many problems later; still waiting to receive them. Took a month to receive the first time and the lens were messed up. Now working on finishing month two (been 3 weeks on top of the previous month) and apparently they are "on their way". Not to mention after the first screw up I was told they would be made priority and I would get them back quickly. A true disappointment all together. On 6/15/18 I went into you location in Visalia, Ca and placed an order for glasses. Was told at the time it would take two weeks to complete them. After two weeks I tried to call the location and was sent to a customer service line and after this person called the location for me was informed that the glasses were cut incorrectly and would not be completed. I waited until after 6 pm and finally went into the location to find out what had happened. During this entire day no one from the location called to let me know there was an issue and what was being done to correct it. Once I arrived at the location was finally told about the issue and when I asked why I was not called the answer I got was that I was correct and the lab manager should have called me. So I was informed that they would have to reorder a new pair of lenses which had not been done as of the time I came in which I would have assumed would have been done when the lenses were ruined and that it was going to take another two weeks for those lenses to come in. When I asked if there was any way to expedite the process since it was their mistake I was informed that there was not. I understand that the lenses needed to be made, what I find hard to believe that there is no way to speed up a particular order and have it shipped overnight to the location to be cut. In the meantime nothing was done to make the situation right or to provide any assistance to me. I then proceeded to wait another two weeks for my glasses and once again I went into the location to pick them up and was informed that they made the same mistake again and once again no one from the location bothered to inform me of the issue. When I asked the store manager why was I not informed about this a second time. Once again I got the same sorry excuse of yes of course you should have been notified and I don't know why my lab manager did not contact you. I would have assumed that this would have been resolved and a discussion with the lab manager after the first time but I guess it was not addressed. Once again I was informed that it would take two weeks to get the lenses and once again there was no way to overnight the lenses or speed up the process. So once again no effort was done to fix the situation or correct it. I then proceeded to ask for a refund and cancel my order. My out of pocket money was refunded but I was informed that it was going to take 3 weeks to have a reversal done to my insurance company VSP. Which I found pretty hard to believe since it looks like it took less than 24 hours for VSP to pay your company. After I left the store I contacted your customer service line to see if there was any way to speed up the process and was informed that no there was not and I was at the mercy of the insurance department. When I asked for a contact number for a district manager or someone to lodge my complaint to, I was told that there was none. Which again I find hard to believe that there was no one I could talk to or lodge a complaint with. Once again I was left with the impression that no one in your company cares about my situation that your company created or basically could care less. I then proceeded to wait three weeks for your company to process a simple insurance reversal and on 8/10/18 I checked with VSP and nothing had been taken care of by your company. Once again I went down to the store location to find out what is going on, and was told that they had no idea that it should have been taken care of on the date of the email that was sent and they would send another email. Was not given any time line on when it would be corrected but the impression I was given based on the my past history of dealing with your customer service was to expect another three weeks. When I asked the store to call the insurance department to expedite the process was told there was no phone number and all they could do was email them. I find that very difficult to believe that if there are any insurance issues at the store there is no way to contact someone. When I once again asked if there was a district manager or anyone above the local level that would have a number to call and expedite the process was once again informed that there is not. I also find this extremely difficult to believe that there is no one that the local store can call to deal with customer issues. If that is the case the chain of command in your company has a lot to desire. What if find extremely difficult is that your insurance department can process a claim for your company to be paid in what looks like less than 24 hours, but it looks like it is going to take over 3 weeks to process a reimbursement for an issue your company created. In conclusion I feel that the level of customer service provided by your company is truly pathetic. The length of time to get things done is truly pathetic. I understand the initial order takes time, but when your company makes a mistake and makes absol read more

Horrible service from stanton optical. Stanton made my wifes glasses approximately 4-5 times plus gave an extra pair to my wife but if the prescription isnt right you still cant see. While the customer service was acceptable, the ads that flashed accross the banners in office and the actual cost of the purchase where mis-leading. One pair would have cost $457.00 and I did get two for price of one. I had coupons for the ads that were flashing, however, when I heard the offer being quoted to another customer without a coupon, I saw no reason to use them as the offer was standard. Two complete pairs of no line Bifocals for $189.00 the coupon says, I pay $149.00. The promotion discount on the frames was accurate, and the cost of the Transition/Gry was acceptable. The Frame selection was adequate enough for me to find the least cost vs. the best appearance, and ima so happy with the Italian Desighner Frames. Must sat they made me look like a Nerd becomes a style buff. Lenscrafter still comes in at #1 for me. I will likely go there in two years when I am allowed to change frames. Stanton is a preferred provider for VSP yet does not file claims, whereas Most others do. The ones who do bill provider cost no more for the glasses than Stanton and I could have actually saved by getting one pair, which is all I actually needed, paying less in long run and not having to do my own billing.
