Three weeks later when I received my glasses, they didn't fit my vision and Serrins had to re-do. Another three weeks passed and when I tried my eyeglasses, they still didn't fit my vision, in fact, the lenses got worse! Another 3 weeks went by and I finally called Serrins about my eyeglasses, to which the staff said that it was delivered to the wrong lab and that they're going to send it back to the correct lab. Frustrated, I decided to retrieve my frame back and go somewhere else where they know what they're doing! Overall, there were 2.5 months without my glasses! Unacceptable! (Granted, Serrins have some friendly staff in the office, I would NOT recommend them based on my personal experience.)

It took more than an hour for the appointment the eye exam being about 15 minutes. I spent 15 minutes in the waiting room and then spent another 25 minutes sitting at one of the exam stations because 3 people were waiting in the hall to be seen before going into the exam room. The place was clean, had modern equipment and the 6 staff I interacted with were all nice. I opted out of glasses which was difficult. I had to say no several times. I didn't feel like the doctor could hear what my concerns were. In comparison my husband went to Costco and paid cash for his exam (about half of my bill without insurance) and his appointment took 20 minutes and there was no pressure to buy glasses as the eye exam is a different department than glasses. We were also told we could take our prescription and order from an online retailer like eyebuydirect. I always try to support smaller local businesses but in this case I felt like the big store was a better experience.

I went in hoping to shop for glasses and arrived at 4:04 pm. The office closes at 4:45 pm. When I walked in, I wasn't greeted as usual and instead felt dismissed. When I was finally helped, the receptionist, immediately told me that I could no longer place an order and that I should have arrived by 4:00 pm to do so. I work until 4:00 pm and came as quickly as I could. I had never been informed of this policy before, and the way it was communicated felt very rude. I would have been much more understanding if the situation had been explained politely and if I had at least been invited to browse frames for a future purchase. Instead, I had to ask if I could at least look around, and I was told that no one could help me but that I could look if I wanted. The interaction made me feel like I was inconveniencing her, so I ultimately chose to leave. This experience was very upsetting because I have always had positive experiences at this office. About 2 years ago I tried making an appointment for me and my 2 children to all be seen "same day" as I live out of town, im a single mom and work full time. They refused and i asked management if they could make an exception and they said no that was their policy. At that time I let them know I was going to try and look for another place to accommodate my current needs. Fast forward to this year I called just to make an appointment for myself and was told I was put on a do not service customer list Reason Being: we can not accommodate you and your 2 children during an appointment. I let them know I didn't need to schedule 2 other appointments, they continued to deny service for reasons completely unknown to me. I've always purchased glasses/ contacts from this business for my family, and also drive family out here for their appointments. I love dr. Ratty his service has always been great. It's unfortunate that a business I've been apart of for many many years doesn't seem to care for the customer if it's inconvenient for them and you don't know it until it happens to you.
