I called yesterday to get info on promotions! i was told there was a promotion going on on contact lenses which the exam would be free. I scheduled and appointment. I arrived to my appointment and i was told the only way the promotion applies was without an insurance, which i was not told and did verify with them if they take the insurance i have. I am not a customer of Stanton, so I am not sure about their low overall rating. Let me tell you my story. I broke my glasses the other day. They are the rimless like they have a thin plastic string holding the lenses in place. I snapped one. I looked online for "eyewear repair," and Stanton came up. I went there, showed the fellow the issue. Without hesitation he said that it could be fixed in 10 minutes. I had to sign a paper saying they were not Stanton glasses. He fixed them as stated. The surprising thing is he said "no charge" when I asked to pay. Now, maybe it was my lucky day, or it's their policy. Regardless, that service gets you a 5-star rating in my book. read more

I expressed my frustration of not being able to go 4-6 weeks without my glasses; she managed to provide a turnaround time of two weeks. one of the staffs gave me my glasses even though the process wasn't done yet (I didn't know). Went into the Stanton for an eye glass exam. Only good thing about this place was that they were able to get me in the same day. Martha tried to scam me. Somehow, she wanted me to pay almost $400 for a pair of glasses and lied saying she can only bill my insurance for the exam AND frames (I already had my frames) I went to Costco and got 2 pairs for $77 after insurance, where Stanton was going to scam me into $400 for 1 pair even with my own frames. read more

If I could give a negative 10 stars for this horrendous place, I would. They have false advertising on their windows, false advertising on quick return for glasses and when your glasses do come in, they don't bother to call you to tell you they came in. You just have to keep calling to find out if your glasses came in. their prices are horrendous way too high. They get you in there, set you down and start jacking up the price per set of glasses with all kinds of add-ons that is not told to you in the beginning. Do not go to this place for your eyecare and eyewear unless you are looking for inadequate overpriced services. read more

I came here to get new glasses, they used my old prescription (one that was given for contacts). when i came to try on my glasses the prescription was way off. The lady helping me, was the "store manager" was peer pressuring me to buy the glasses. She gave me a price of $320 first, then i said no ill hold off, lowered it to $205, i said its really okay ill come next time, then she said $180, so i said okay fine. all for them to be the wrong prescription and she couldn't give me my cash back the same day, so a 30 day check was to be mailed. i will continue to wait on my check. No wonder theres so many lawsuits filed against them after doing some research. read more

If I could rate this place a negative five stars I would. Elvis the manager is a complete liar and a bully. This has been the worse eye wear experience that left me with PTSD. They lost my sisters glasses I order and lied about it. Then tried to play the Karen victim tongue game "I need you to please calm down." lol y'all loose my stuff then want me to calm down? I called customer service over a week ago and was assured someone would call me. The customer service line is just as rude with a langue barrier making difficult to understand what message they're trying to deliver over the phone. Run!!! They charge my card for the money and they ripped me off. Total bait and switch and they lie on these reviews to try to protect themselves. Don't use these people. This place is a SCAM!! Not only did we wait almost an hour for service (while other walk-ins were being helped) once we were helped the saleslady quickly tried to rush us into nearly paying 900+ dollars, only promising to lower the price if we agreed to all these shady upsales and add ons we didn't need or ask for. DON'T BE FOOLED by the giant lettering claiming nonexistent low prices (they apply to the frames only and it won't be that low with all the stuff they'll try to force on you).-- We paid the prescription and went across the street to Lens Crafters and had a nicer pair ready for a quarter of the price in hours. Never felt more unconfortable in my life!! i can feel the pressure these folks are under from management to make sales. But what is unacceptable is to be made to feel like 'ish because i decided to wait on my contacts. She started immediately being rude, condescending and outright just yelling at the guy for no reason whatsoever. I will never spend my money here, with her being manager? Went into Stanton Optical in Visalia as I wanted to order two pair of glasses. I already had a new prescription. The frames and lenses are priced higher than most other eye glass businesses. The sales lady sat me down at a desk to upsell me. 2 Pair for the price of one. Sounds good right ? A total scam. Their eye glasses are way overpriced. With her upsell BS the two pair where about $900 dollars. Buyer beware ! Stanton is a total scam ! You can go to a Dr. of Ophthalmology, Costco's or Lens Crafters for much less. read more

This place is a scam. I made sure to ask if they accepted my insurance before making my appointment to which they said that they did. They wanted to charge me $60 for my eye exam that my insurance DOES cover. The manager said she could not justify putting my exam as free ? Which does not make sense as it would be my insurance covering it. She never once asked for my insurance card. I took in my own frames and was charged $100 for the exam and to replace the lens. They were very aggressive and would not let me leave with just my prescription. Please save yourself the time and harassment and go to Costco or lens crafters. Well the 2 star rating is accurate..... I only used them because they were supposedly fast and the price was cheap (& I was desperate) .. the initial call and set up, being a first time patient, was very easy and convenient they were able to see me the same day (& called at noon!) .... What the initial call failed to tell me was that I have to pay for lenses and the advertised 2/$69 (with free eye exam) did not reflect that price. Again the initial exam experience was pleasant polite staff even tho there AC broke in the 100+ heat. The guy who counseled me on my prescription was nice. Though they try to push "doctor recommended these upgrades" as opposed to "we have these upgrades available". I was able to buy two pairs for $198 out the door. One pair was promised to me within 24 hours. Which I picked up the next day. The next pair was promised before two weeks. It's been two weeks no email, no phone call. So I called turns out my glasses have been there for some days already, "& they should've notified me". Marc was very helpful and apologetic, it is the middle of summer and the second pair were sunglasses which are desperately needed. If you need glasses I wouldn't recommend this place. Try Lens crafters it's two miles north in the mall. I should've just stayed there. read more

Look at our pictures closely and you will see various glasses with have purchased there. When you go, ask for Martha Campos who has provided tremendous and wonderful service to us. We are completely loyal to her for all of her help and service. I would also like to give a shout out to the other women who have sold us glasses over the years and have provided excellent service too; they still work there too, because they also provide amazing service. Place seemed very dirty and old.The optometrist was NOT on site and it was hard to distinguish between the employees and customers as none of the employees were dressed professional at all! I'm talking about jeans and t-shirts. The sale that they advertise as a free exam with 2 frames for $59.95 is a complete joke. They wanted to charge me nearly $1000 for two pairs of glasses. I kindly paid for the exams and prescriptions ($200) and promptly ordered both my kids glasses from Zenni for only $90. That includes very cute frames, high end lenses with blue light block and shipping and handling. Not real doctors. A "doctor" sees you via Skype? You see he's in a cubby and you can hear all the other "doctors" talking to their patients. The connection even froze a few times. The set up felt so "ghetto" for a lack of a better word. After I was done. No one explained anything about my vision. I had to ask several times if my vision had gotten worse. The response. It was about the same. The woman selling frames is pushy! She wants you to buy no matter what. They couldn't even get my insurance information correct. Frames are much cheaper here. The only reason I'd return. Get your exam elsewhere. read more

When I first walked in, it was very busy and seemed like all the workers were helping someone, so no one came up to me whatsoever, which was fine with me because I was picking out my frames. When I finally chose which ones I wanted to purchase, Delia was the one that helped me finish my purchase. She was sweet and very helpful.
