I scheduled an appointment that was fitting for my schedule. Arrived, no one to greet or acknowledge my arrival. Tough process getting started. I do have insurance but it doesn't cover eye exams. I pay out of pocket. Was told I needed to give them my insurance information anyway, and was handed a long price list ( one of which takes time to discern. I stated clearly I was there for the $79 deal. I was told that is only to get people in the door. I could do the exam and take my prescription to Walmart or LensCrafters. I stated I came for a one stop visit, I am not going place to place. Was then told $79 is for single lenses. I said that's all I want. She then abruptly asked if what I had on is single lenses. "Yes" I never knew till I was placed in an exam room that it is 'hybrid exam' woman with heavy accent came on screen. Difficult to understand her. Ended exam with office assistant and hybrid lady talking at same time. In a hurry there because they have very limited staff. I was then informed my script was on hold. I need to see a doctor, WOW. I later received an email my appointment was cancelled. Thankfully they had the decency to tell me there was no charge. If you have any diseases, eye problems, or past problems this is not the place for you. The lady who walked in after me, but waited on before me, had never been given a receipt, didn't know when her glasses would be there and is on her second trip. He explained all the options and gave great suggestions. I went with his recommendations. Picked up my two pairs of glasses and met Tye the supervisor. She was fabulous and helped me by making sure my glasses fit and she even cleaned them before I left. Bought glasses. Due date for them to come in came and left with no update. I went in to see about picking them up and was finally told they were never ordered. So they ordered them a d was told it will take 2 more weeks. Glasses finally came in and I went in yesterday to pick up and one pair had a noticeable scratch on it. So now I have to wait to have them replace the lens on the one pair. Was never given my prescription. Had to ask for it yesterday. Never asked to fit my glasses to my face. One in for contacts and glasses. Went through the eye exam which was fine, but afterwards was offered a pair of to try, which did not work. Waited for the doctor to send an updated prescription which never came that day. Was told I could come in the next day and that they would phone me when they had the prescription which after waiting several days I still have not heard back from them. Also was left sitting several times while I was waiting to get my glasses they would stop in the middle of what they're doing and go wait on someone else. I had such a disappointing experience today at Stanton Optical. The only reason I am giving them two stars is because the ladies working there were sweethearts and they were just terribly understaffed. I was there a total of two hours for an appointment that should've lasted 45 minutes max. There were so many other customers there waiting as well who I assume had appointments like I did. It is terrible management to have this many booked appointments and not enough people to tend to the customers. I wish they would've called and told me that they were understaffed so I could reschedule for another day or just somewhere else completely. The first red flag was the ancient equipment that was clearly faulty. When I finally was called back for my eye exam, 30 minutes after my appointment time, the lens was blurry even after cleaning it so it certainly affected the results of the exam. I was also very disappointed when I was told that the optometrist worked remotely and the assistant would be conducting my eye exam. I have never heard of this before, nor do I think this is good practice. I don't think that a person can give an accurate prescription on my eyes when they're not even there. My previous doctors always took the time to look ay my eyes personally. They did not warn me that there would be no doctor on site anywhere on the website when I booked my appointment. I don't think this should be allowed as a practice. To add to this, the doctor is not even synchronously participating in the appointment. The doctor can take however long he wants to log onto his computer and look at the results to give me my eye prescription. Since the assistant cannot prescribe me anything I had to wait for the doctor to look at my results remotely and create my prescription. In my case, it took at least 20 minutes. When I tried on my new contact prescription it still wasn't correct. I ended up asking for my old contact prescription that I had been using. I think this is due to a combination of equipment, not working correctly a.k.a. the foggy lenses in the eye exam and the doctor being absent. You could not pay me to return to this business. Again, the two ladies working were amazing and kind but the management and how the business is set up is incredibly flawed. I would not recommend this experience to anybody! My daughter worked with someone named Jennifer, and she was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She made sure my daughter felt comfortable the entire time. We laughed, we smiled, and the whole experience was just incredible. I have never felt so much genuine care from someone we had just met. Jennifer took her time and patiently helped my daughter learn how to put in and take out her contacts. Even though it took quite a while to get them in, she never rushed us and stayed by our side the entire time. She explained everything clearly and showed her helpful techniques to make the process easier. Because of this wonderful experience, I won't be going anywhere else for my other kids. On 6-6 my partner and I went to Stanton optical on Howell Mill Rd, the customer service was excellent, the upselling not so great, we went in expecting to spend around $250 each it ended up being right around $700, but the kicker is we still do not have any glasses. We were told 1 week in the store, but ended up speaking to a rude customer service agent that told me "It will be two weeks, what part of that did you not understand" I explained that in the store they said one week, the response was, is there anything else I can help you with. needless to say after I receive all 4 pair of my glasses Stanton Optical will not be my go to place for replacement glasses. I ordered some new glasses online paid $200 with the Prescription I received from Stanton optical and I love them and it only took 5 days to receive them. I used to love getting my glasses at Stanton Optical.... the selection, prices and staff were ALWAYS spot on. I cannot say the same anymore after my recent visit . Sales associate, frame selection and the prices all bad.... in fact the associate gave me the wrong information. I called customer service and they really didn't have an answer why any of this happened. So this was on Tuesday and now it's already two days later and the only thing I have been told from customer service (after my request) is that a different location will be contacting me so that I can get my order completed the way it should have been done in the first place!! just now New I really did not have a good experience coming here. I spent $500 on a six month supply of contacts and one pair of glasses. After waiting a week and a half for my contacts to arrive I was handed two different boxes for my left eye and my right eye. When I got home and realized the employee's mistake, I called the store and was treated very rudely. I was told if I opened the boxes already there is nothing they can do. I came here because my old prescription was terrible and I couldn't keep driving, wearing no glasses at all. Therefore, I came here because you same-day glasses however after the exam and everything is and done, you tell me because I wear progressive lenses that it will be two weeks so that's just a bold face lie in advertisement if you want to be specific in the types of glasses you're talking about. Furthermore, there were hardly any frame selection at all. I could not find a pair of frames that I really liked and third when sitting down and seeing the price of one pair of glasses comes to $600 I was just amazed that is twice the amount that I paid for my last pair of glasses. I am truly very unhappy with the entire situation when my glasses were ready they had been sitting there for three days and no one called. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever encountered! 1- Waited over 2 months for 2 pair of glasses. 2 - Glasses were to shipped, after 2 phone conversations where the address to ship was given it was never done. They had no notes regarding shipping. When I questioned the representative helping me had no answers. I was hesitant to come here due to reviews but needed glasses as they claim "same day". I know now I could have gone literally anywhere else and received the glasses in less than 2 months and I'm sure they would have been shipped! NEVER AGAIN!
