Just prior to leaving on vacation, my wife lost a screw to her favorite pair of sunglasses and the lens popped out. Because our family had been going to this vision works for our eye exams and glasses for years, I popped in to see if there was anything they could do. A staff member named Bobby attended to my situation and quickly assessed that, not only had the screw come out, but, that the frame had been bent by where the screw screws into the post. Bobby not only replaced the screw but, utilizing a special tool, manipulated the frame to its original position ensuring that the screws would retain. Though we purchase all our prescription glasses from this location, we did not purchase these sunglasses from there but, Bobby never asked, he was just helping out a husband with a stressed out wife. It's gestures like these that are largely lost in customer service today but sorely needed. It may not have seemed a big deal to him, but, it was to this customer! I walked into my Visionworks store on Congress Avenue, Boynton Beach, FL, to have my glasses repaired where the hinge spring no longer functioned. I was told the repair could not be made because I had not bought insurance and the glasses were purchased over a year ago. In addition, I was informed Visionworks no longer stocked the spring required for repair. I find this policy quite upsetting considering the cost of glasswear and I have never asked for repair service in the 15 or twenty years I have loyally bought from Visionworks. Robert A. My partner just left this location and the service she received was abhorrent. JUSTIN LEE was working with her, and he put the name of Vision Works to shame. Not only was this employee arrogant and condescending but also rude and snarky. I'm not sure why his attitude was this way towards her but it was extremely disappointing. Absolutely THRILLED with Dr. Mallie & his technician. Excellent service, professional and personable. Found that my script has been too strong for a long time! Dr. Mallie adjusted and convinced me to try the mono contact lenses - WOW. I have been dependent on my cheater glasses on top of my contacts for years. Now I don't need them anymore!!! The worst customer service. Save your time and go somewhere else! I ordered glasses and requested they be expedited because I was going out of town and needed them. I was told they would be ready on May 27. I called on May 26 and was told they weren't ready so I went away without my glasses. Upon my return I called again and was told they were there and had been since May 18!! No one contacted me. Although I appreciate that they were expedited, it does no good if I wasn't contacted and worse, was told they weren't in. This review has nothing to do with Dr Mallie. I've been examined by him for several years and appreciate his thoroughness and competent care. I will continue to see Dr Mallie but will no longer order glasses from Visionworks. read more

The doctor reached out to me to inform me that there was a misunderstanding. While the pupillary distance is not measured as part of the eye exam it can be measured afterwards in the glasses section. I went back in and was out with my measurement in about a minute. The exam was covered by my insurance plan, they have extended hours (good for those of us who work full time or are just busy), and seemed thorough. read more

Visionworks on Congress in Boynton: This place sucks! I tried 3 different times on 6/24/20 using every Option to talk to an employee, finally reached an employee named ...... I asked if my glasses were in he told me he would have to call me back that he had a customer. I told him I had been on hold almost 2 hours and that I wanted to know now, instead I got put burned again now waiting for a call and they close in 1 hour looks like I've got to wait another day. I've been a manager in customer service over 30 years it's quite apparent that Visionworks does not require employees to have customer service skills perhaps it would be a good thing if you trained because customer service goes along way. I did receive a response from Customer Service that this was forwarded to the appropriate party but unfortunately it stopped there since no one got in touch with me with a response to resolve this problem. By far the worst costumer experience I have received. They lost my frames that that were sent out to have lenses put on. After losing my lenses we agreed and replacing them for 2 new pair of glasses, 7 days later they claim to have call me to let me know that the offer was no longer on the table, 7 business days I may add. this means the two pairs that they promised should've been almost done since they always quote 10 days. they told me that could just replace my old frames for the same exact pair 15 days later today (9/13). I ended up agreeing to those new terms needless to say I'll have to wait another 20 days. this is not a matter I'm which you should conduct business. there are many options to go to besides them. Robert is the best! So patient! Knows what looks good on you and doesn't push to sell you the most expensive glasses. He is the only one I trust to adjust my glasses. He is also hysterical! OK I have issues with this place. I loved the doctor who did my testing. but everyone else? I was there 3 different days and someone was always fighting with someone ( and it was always different people, all of which were employees). I had a great experience at Visionworks in Boynton. Dr Mallie is fantastic. I am a new to prescription glasses and wanted contacts. He gave me contacts to try for a week and told me to text him with any questions. Mark taught me how to put then in and out of my eyes very patiently. I text Dr Mallie with questions and he text me back quickly everytime. Today I went in to order my 12 month supply of contacts and glasses and once again hit lotto with yet another team member, Justin. He was patient and knowledgable and really took the time to make sure I understood everything and was happy with my choices. He helped me tremendously. I am sooooo happy I decided to go into this Visionworks, I HIGHLY recommend them. One week later, picked up my glasses and my contacts.... Manager, Robert, has the patience of a saint! I think I tried every pair of glasses on in the store looking for purple frames that lookeand he never rushed me, complained or lost his smile! In the end I didn't even buy anything (yet) and he was gracious and even suggested I visit their other locations to see if I found frames I loved. I will definitely be back and recommend Robert and visionworks to my friends. Thanks- So update! 11/14 I've just gotten my first eye exam from Dr Mallie and I couldn't be happier! He was thorough and very nice. As a diabetic I'm always concerned about the health of my eyes and he put my mind at ease when we reviewed the digital image her suggested. I came here to get my glasses prescription filled and Barry helped me. He was very nice and helpful. I came in on Friday and they called today, which is Monday and told.me that my glasses are ready. One word for this place AWFUL. Glasses were promised on a certain date and showed up 5 days later. I mentioned I was going away and needed them before i left and was promised I would have them NOT!!! Asked for a partial refund because this place isn't close to where I live and it was issued on 12/06/16. Was told a check would be coming from the corporate office. 7 weeks later and still no check. Called yesterday and was told the situation is being checked into and I would receive a call back by end of day yesterday NOT!!! I wish I could give this no stars. The hyper latin man with glasses is so non customer friendly. He is rude and doesn't want to be bothered by the customers. He told me if I return a frame I would not get a refund. I just wanted to buy the frame to see if my family members liked it and if not be able to return it. I'm giving this place one star because no stars wasn't an option! While I had frames, and only needed a change of Rx, they had several different reasons for insisting that it would be impossible to put the required Rx in my existing frames. I chose this place because of the in-house lab; they assured me they could have the glasses ready before my vacation.That also turned out not to be true. They ultimately admitted that their machinery had been broken for weeks! Finally, their pricing was a hoax. Do yourself a favor, and skip this place. read more

I had the best experience at Vision Works because of Robert White. A very nice young lady helped me and I asked her to select someone who had style so they could help me pick out great glasses. She referred me to Mr. White and WOW! He was able to help me select 3 different pairs of glasses and we were in a hurray and he moved so quickly with us that all of us had a great time. I had forgotten my wallet and we asked if he would write up the order and we would call him with the credit card info. His answer was NO PROBLEM. That is great customer service. The next day he phoned me to ensure me that the order was placed and it would take about 10 days. Well guess what 4 days later I am wearing my new glasses. I really can't thank Mr. White enough. P.S. He even had a pair of my broken glasses fixed at no charge. Can you believe this!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well believe it. As I read some of the other reviews I wonder did we go to the same location! Maybe they did but they didn't get Mr. White. Vision Works should be counting their blessings for having him. read more

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. It's is horrible in every sense. I walked in to pick out some glasses and nobody acknowledges you. The carpet is dirty. It smells. The place is full of allergens. I waited for about an hour to be helped and the person who helped us abandoned us for another client so we had to wait again. Unbelievable. They have a horrible selection of cheap looking and off brand frames. We finally were helped and it took forever to be done. We were there for about 2 hours more and still were told we would have to pick up glasses in about 4 hours. When we came back we were told they didn't have our particular model and it would be ready in 10 business days. After losing a day and already have been charged. We came back to pick up the glasses a week later and the same situation, no one acknowledges you and we had to wait an hour and a half just to pick up some glasses. I have never had such a crappy experience. Do yourself a favor and go to lenscrafters. I have been to them before and they are fantastic. If you're asking why I came to visionworks in the first place it's because my insurance was changed. read more
