It's called My Eye Doctor now, but it is first rate whatever it's called! I discovered them last year through my health insurance when they were gracious enough to take me and fulfill the last half of my service after another eye doctor tried to upsell me services that I didn't need. I went back recently for my annual eye exam and met Dr. Kaufman, who really knows his stuff and has a sense of humor too. I kinda felt like I was talking with a college professor as he explained everything to me so clearly. When I took the various tests he actually seemed to be happy that my eyes were in such good shape! A great experience, and the staff is very lovely too. They had no problem taking my old glass frames and replacing the lenses either. An all around class act for sure. Highly recommend. read more

Went to My Eye Dr as it is now called. The actual Drs are very good. Horrible experience with my glasses. Had the lenses wrong the first time. Was told by the staff to go home and get used to them. Was told they would get dark in the car (they do not) and I paid extra for that. Came back because of the distortions I was seeing. Had to take my glasses and redo the lenses. Now they are not anti glare either. It has been 3 months now. I finally threw them in a drawer and am wearing my old glasses. Total waste of time and money. Go somewhere else. The women who fit the glasses have no clue what they are doing. Actually my old glasses are much better, how is that possible? read more

Ordered glasses in June, didn't get them until November. My orders were repeatedly lost in the computer system and there was no follow through. I had to always call them. When glasses finally did come in they were wrong. read more

I was impressed by Dr. Kaufman. He answered his own office phone when secretary was not in yet. He didn't wait or tell me to call back. I was a new patient & he took down all of my new patient info. I no longer have three glasses and contacts to worry about and see 20/20 for five years after laser vision correction. I had a horrible experience and would not recommend anyone looking for a new eye dr to go here. I waited well over 45min from my scheduled appointment to be seen. The assistant who brought me in to start doing my eye exam was completely disorganized and took forever! Dr Kaufman was very unprofessional and tried to overcharge me and scam me. When I told the receptionist I was not ordering contacts from him because I found them expensive he ran out of the exam room where he had another patient yelling that I didn't understand my insurance. He was very angry and frustrated telling me that he had the best rates, Etc. When I called my insurance after they even said it sounded like the dr was overcharging me. So, with this being the case, how can my review be taken seriously? Read on... Mine is an unusual and different perspective offering a peek into the office's professionalism and integrity--a perspective that one rarely has privy to unless they are "behind the scenes." This review is written not as a patient, but as a seasoned optical wholesaler who has called on hundreds of optometrists, opticians, and ophthalmologists since 1986. And, I can tell you which ones are worthy of your hard earned dollars and which are not. Naturally, it goes without saying that a doctor's office treats its patients with utmost kindness and respect, because, let's face it, as their patient you are their "bread and butter." But if one wants to discover the underlying core beliefs of an office, just ask their sales rep. How the staff treats a sales representative when he or she is out of the earshot of a paying customer can be very telling. This office--from day one--when I walked in the door was kind, friendly, welcoming--even though they had no need for my product at the time. They treated me, a total stranger, as warmly as they would their patient. And, I can assure you that this is not always the case! The point I am trying to make is that one can tell a lot about the character and decency of Dr. Kaufman (who, by the way, I've never spoken to, nor have I met) because it is he who basically sets the tone for his staff. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to meet Dr. Kaufman because the secretary refused to accept my insurance even though I told her that I was 100% sure that my insurance was under their network. I asked her to call BlueCross BlueShield to verify, but she said she was too busy. Then I called myself and had that BlueCross lady called the office to explain all the benefits and to clarify that my PPO plan was under network but the secretary didn't let the person explain. Then the bluecross lady called me suggesting that I should go with another provider because the secretary was very very rude and refused to listen to her. I did not get the secretary's name, but that was a very frustrating experience. read more
