This place has helpful staff and good deals but the way that it is run is terrible. My glasses broke and I've been waiting for a pair of glasses for three weeks. They told me they would be here 5 days ago. I have checked every day since they said they would be ready and they still aren't even here. I called to check if the store was open with the bad weather conditions and the customer service told me it was. I drove 25 minutes to the store just to find that it had been closed all day. Didn't even matter though because they still didn't have my glasses anyways. There's no way to call the actual store as well so it's pretty much impossible to get in contact with them. If I could give zero or negative stars I would! I should have know by the reviews to stay away from this place! I went in as a walk in and they stated they could see me, it would be a 30/45 min wait. I started looking at frames while I waited. It took them an hour to get me back but then another hour and 1/2 or so to get my prescription so I could order my glasses. I had already invested so much time I just waited it out. I picked out my frames and because of covid I was told I would receive my glasses in 7-10 business days......well it is now well over 2 weeks and I'm still without my glasses. I called on Friday asking where my order was. I was told call back on Monday I called back on Monday I was told call back on Thursday. I called today and basically I got the run around and no idea where my damn glasses are. I asked to cancel the order and I wanted a refund. They said they would refund me minus my exam!!! Oh and they already filed a claim with my insurance. So now I have no glasses and until they reverse the claim I will not be able to use my insurance at another place. There is NO Optometrist in the entire building!!!!! I was there for three hours and Skyped with a "doctor" that spoke broken english. Majority of staff was polite. I did have to ask them to clean the lenses off on the machine because it had mascara on it from the last patient that FaceTimed a "doctor". I went in the day before with an appointment, but "the doctor was out of the office due to a family emergency". So rescheduled for today and was told my exam was comped/free. So I tried to leave with my perception but they wouldn't let me!!! They told me I had to buy contacts from them in order for my exam to be free. NOT A SINGLE CUSTOMER LEFT HAPPY.. trust me, I was there for 3 hours sitting close to the register. Go spend $20 extra and see an actual doctor!! And don't believe the 2 for $64 or any of their other promises....lots of fine print!!! read more

Very disappointed! Needed a new prescription for our daughter, she has been wearing glasses for almost 2yrs. First, when we walked in, we were totally ignored. Several reps. were there and all busy with customers, not even a greeting. So we came again after scheduling an appointment, and they would not see our daughter. Turns out this place cares more about their rules than about sound business practices. They sent us away because our daughter is one month short of being 8, and they only see patients 8 and over. I guess they don't need the business bad enough, if they send away a paying customer, in need of an eye exam, cause she is a few weeks short of their age requirement. Honestly, if I could give this place zero stars I would. This was honestly the WORST experience I've ever had from start to finish. My exam was literally worthless. My Dr. wanted to get it done as fast as possible and didn't even take his time to find the CORRECT prescription for me. Gives me some bs prescription for contacts gives me a trial pair and sends me home. I get home, give my eyes some time to get over being dilated, and still after they were back to normal my contacts were not correct. I go to see a different man, before they close, and he flat tells me that the contacts I was given at Stanton were not the right prescription, in fact they weren't even contacts for the astigmatism I have. He gives me a new trial pair, and I can see perfectly. Not wanting to waste any more money than I already have, I take my NEW prescription to Stanton and simply ask if my contacts that were ordered and my glasses be changed to what I was given. And naturally I was given dirty looks, the front desk lady rolled her eyes at me, and the Dr. that had examined me was absolutely rude, and basically said the new prescription I was given wasn't gonna change anything for me and I should have just sucked it up with my original prescription. Whatever. They change my contact prescription, and I double check, I literally ask "you changed the prescription for my glasses as well, correct??" She looks at me rolls her eyes and says "yes." So I assume that I'm going to get what I literally asked for. What was literally on a piece of paper in front of them, and GUESS WHAT. I go to pick up my glasses today, come home (because I had contacts in when I picked them up, can't drive without them.) and they're THE WRONG PRESCRIPTION. This has been the worst few weeks dealing with this place and I will NEVER get my contacts, or glasses here again. I'm literally so upset that I had to in the first place, simply because I could not get my money back. About a year ago I ordered glasses and contact lenses from this office in Lubbock. It took 2 months to get my glasses after they messed up my prescription. I checked in with Stanton Optical to get my glasses within a week and they were not done, then after several weeks the order was lost, so we ordered again... Then I was called by the call system to come in and get my glasses and they were not there. So, I asked if we could expedite the shipping, and they refused. This didn't even include my contact order, which was messed up as well. I have been in bifocals since age 3 and I am now 38. The script for my frames did not have bifocals because they were not recommended. This was a bad idea. Recently, for some odd reason, I decided to go back. Leah was absolutely amazing. However, I went in to follow up to get a new script and it was back to the same old bad service. An employee yelled at me and told me off after I was fed up. I asked Dr. Yhang a question in the back and he refused to answer my question even though he was looking at my script right in front of him. He talked down to me and was short and rude. It goes on and on and on. I just asked him why he thought that my previous script did not have bifocals when I have had them all of my life and he said he wasn't my dr. and would need an exam. I was completely willing to have an exam, but he was very pompus and arrogant and talked to me like I knew nothing. I have canceled my order there and will never be back. We went because there was a Groupon that made it seem as though we could get a pretty good deal. NO DEAL WOULD BE WORTH GOING. First of all, the Groupon was a rip off. We ended up doing the minimum and walked out with two pairs of glasses for $370. The customer service was atrocious. I went in in Jan.2019 to get glasses and a year supply of contacts, everything went well the employees were nice and very helpful. After a month I never received my contact so I went in to the store and was told the order was NEVER placed the lady told me she'll order them and they'll be in an about 5 day, fine. Well two weeks later still no contacts, so I called the store (btw I live an hour away from the store) I got hung up on 2 times transfer to a machine 2 times and then finally got told my order still wasn't placed‍‍ so I'm going back to get a refund and taking my business elsewhere and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone else, and we paid quite a bit of money just for my order to never have been put in. read more

I would give them a zero if I could. The dr for one rushes to try and get you out of there. I have gone there 4 times now to get my contacts corrected and this last time was the last straw. For one you can't even talk to someone at the store you have to talk to third party who leaves you on hold for 30 mins. I was told my trial was in so I drive 20 mins to the store and put them in and still can't see. I was then told that these weren't my contacts and that my trial hasn't come in. This place is absolutely horrible. The wait time is ridiculous. My Daughter's appointment was at 5:00 pm, and we did not leave until 6:50. It took almost 30 minutes just to have someone become available for us to pay. I have had to reorder the same pair of glasses twice, because they keep breaking. No one talked to my Daughter about how to take care of her contacts. This was her first time wearing contacts. My Daughter also had her SECOND pair of glasses adjusted, because the side piece keeps getting loose. The first pair of glasses are being ordered secondary to them breaking. I had an appointment over a month ago. I ordered contacts the same day. After almost three weeks of waiting for them to arrive, I called customer service where I was told it was because of the virus. This was a lie that was verified by staff when I picked up a pair of trial lenses. Well over a month later I was advised they were given to another customer but Wild be there for pick up that week. Also a lie. I had to go in to the location again for yet another pair of trial where I was told something completely different yet again. And that my contacts had just been reordered two days ago. I was told repeatedly that they would be happy to cancel my order and refund my money, this was their way of trying to get me out of the location. I asked if they were going to refund my gas money and time dealing with this and how they thought cancelling my order would make things better. No one could provide me an answer. I have filed complaints with customer service without receiving the promised call back. I have been told that I would be called with updates on my order and never received a single phone call. I asked when I ordered if the virus would prevent my order from arriving on time to which I was told it shouldn't because no one else has had a delay receiving their orders. They tried to give me this same excuse today and I corrected them. Advising that I had already been told, by one of the other managers, that the virus had nothing to do with the delay. The only good thing about this place is the cheap and easy eye exams. The Drs were friendly and did a great job. Other than that the whole operation is complete chaos. I was the third person on the list and had to wait over 30 minutes just to pick up my glasses. After all that I had to come back the next day and wait another 30 mins because they forgot to tint 2 of the 3 pairs I bought. At 9 am i received a call stating my glasses were ready. At noon when I arrived they told me the lenses were still being tinted.... so disorganized! Most of the staff are lacking in any knowledge of the services and products offered by the company. Ordered contacts a month ago, they said it would be quick! We went after 2 weeks, because we were going on a family trip and needed for the driver. They did not come in, so we had to buy Glasses, those came in the same day thankfully. After our trip, an additional 10 days later we came to pick up our contacts, apparently we were given a large discount so they were never mailed to us nor did we get a call for an update. The guy (Dravin?) who helped was nice but I will never come here again. Yes we were offered the test contact but it's not a pair for both eyes. We were excited to get an appointment ASAP for our 7-year old when we found out she was having issues with seeing the board at school. We gave the pertinent info over the phone-- including date of birth-- and showed up a few hours later for our appointment after taking off work and school early. When we arrived, we were informed we could not be seen because Stanton will not see children younger than 10! I don't think it takes a graduate degree in math to realize 2017 minus a birth year of 2009 does not add up to 10. The clinic placed the blame on their corporate office, which they said makes appointments for them, "and is always doing this to us." This may be true, but if so this seems to be as simple a fix as not allowing a computer entry for a patient younger than 10. It's noble to admit a mistake-- but it's embarrassing to admit this isn't the first time this has happened yet you haven't done anything to correct it. read more

They'll give you the wrong prescriptions and you'll end up paying $300+ instead of the deal you went in for because the 2 for 59.95 wall is so scarce. They'll overcharge you for frames made in China. You'll get migraines because they measured you wrong. When you go to get the promised refund if not satisfied, you'll get the run around about a new eye exam, not the refund you respectfully ask for, not once but twice. They don't care about people. I visited the Stanton Optical on 50th and Slide in Lubbock on Jan 5 where I had an eye exam and planned to get my glasses elsewhere. One of the sales associates asked if I wanted to have them replace the old lenses in my current glasses with the new prescription since I was not buying one of their frames. I was hesitant because the frames I have are extremely lightweight with a unique design (tiny rubber bands that hold the top and bottom together) so I asked them several times if they could manage this type of lens replacement. They assured me several times that "yes" they could handle replacing the lenses. However, a week later I called them to see if my glasses were ready, and they said I could pick them up. When I visited the store again, my glasses were in pieces, lenses out and the frame taken apart. They couldn't fix them because the special kind of rubber band that held the frame around the lenses had broken (due to age) when they removed the old lenses. I have had these frames for more than 5 years and I had the lenses replaced with updated prescriptions a few times before without incident. The rubber bands (the same type you would use in braces for your teeth) were replaced each time with new ones as part of the lens installation... never had a problem until now. They offered to give me a refund and take my glasses as they were; in pieces. But I refused because, although I had used them several years, the frames cost me more than $500 and I emphasized the issues of the delicate frame and bands several times before they had them. The manager, A.J., came to me and promises that he would try to find the rubber bands at Office Depot or another store and take care of it. I waited over a week longer, but they never called me or attempted to contact me in any way. So I drove to the store (yet again) and the manager finally said it is impossible to find the part although he tried "very hard". In the meantime, I had contacted the frame shop where I purchased my glasses from years ago in a different state. They said they have the bands but that they could also train the technicians here over the phone on how to fix the frame. So I gave A.J. their business card in hopes that they could communicate and perhaps request the part from them (they even offered to ship it to them for free!), or get assistance locating the correct type of band, and/or find out how to complete the repair. However, he states that he wants to try to buy similar rubber bands somewhere in Lubbock or from one of their suppliers. He tells me that he will speak to "corporate" about their options and they would resolve the issue - at last. I was told over the phone several days later that the frames had been sent off somewhere - corporate/another store, not real clear in their explanation - to be repaired. This was three weeks ago. I have yet to hear a word from them. No calls, no texts, nothing! Now, February 16th, they still have not called me back even though I have contacted them multiple times by phone and driven back to the store 4 times since the initial exam. In my opinion they have horrible customer service, terrible communication skills and an irresponsible manager and store. A month and a half waiting for my lenses on existing frames to be swapped out is absolutely absurd! I shouldn't have to pay a penny for this type of "service". A negative rating would be more appropriate than even a single star. read more
