First of all they don't even acknowledge you as a customer while you are shopping for frames, then when you have chosen your frames they push and push and push for you to upgrade your lenses...I was saying no til I was blue in the face. I finally had to tell them to just let me have my prescription and I am going back to eyeglass world before they gave up. Not a very big selection of reasonably priced frames and now I have came to pick them up because they are ready and have almost been waiting a damn hour and still haven't even talked to anyone..... If I cld give zero stars I wld!! I had a $360 credit on frames and $75 on lenses because of the botch job they did back in September. The other day my sunglasses were stolen out of my car. So I call the store to make sure I undersood the credit I was owed the went down there. When I first began speaking with the gentleman that helped me I lead with my name and the credit I have there. I pick out my frames tell the guy what lenses I want. He tells me its gonna be $350. I say damn that's a lot of $ especially considering the frames I picked are free and the lenses shld be $75 off. He gives me a spiel about how high end they are then shows me in the computer that he actually gave me 50% off the lenses. Then calls a manager over to ok a discount taking care of taxes so I pay $350 flat. All the while I'm blown away by the cost I'm paying and he can tell. He asks if I'm ok and if I'm sure I want the glasses. I tell him yea I want the glasses so he charges my card prints a receipt then highlights my 50% lense discount. I take my receipt outside and start to analyze it because it just doesn't seem right. Low and behold this jerk completely ignored my credit for frames and charges me after we had discussed my credit over and over. I take my receipt in there and ask him to explain because one of us is confused and I'm pretty sure it isn't me. He starts telling me I have to get $360 in frames before I get the credit. Then asks who issued credit. I immediately start telling him I called before I came spoke to corporate and they said nothing about having to get $360 in frames and if that's the case give me another set of frames and free it all out. Then I told him to pull up my name on his computer he does and at the bottom of the screen in 1 line it says AJ issued me credit and it says I have $360 for frames and $75 on lenses. It says nothing about having to get $360 to redeem my credit that's just dumb anyway. This guy was trying to avoid honoring my credit to boost his commission check I will find out ur name sir and post it everywhere u are a crook shame on u. If I could give them a zero rating I would. First, the quality of the glasses/lens were terrible! Secondly, part of our decision to buy from them was that they offered to replace the lens if prescription changed within a year at no charge. Our prescription did change within 6 months. (Side note, and by this time the len's coating was already half off. Hence the quality). Before bringing the glasses in I called to confirm that they do replace lens at no charge if prescription changes within a year. They confirmed this was correct. Once I get there they tell me that isn't the case and they aren't sure where I heard this information. I let them know I called the very store I was in (the same store we bought them from that also offered this). Long story short they did not honor what they say they do and made no effort to correct the issues. We won't buy from them again! Honor your word, staton. read more

Very rude optometrist. My prescription is completely wrong and I am seeing blurry still. Dr. Nguyen was discussing patient information loudly in the waiting room where many other patients could hear (I know I was not sitting near the front desk and heard every bit of another patient's information, including her other non-vision medical conditions). She spent less than 5 minutes in the exam room with me and snapped at me when I tried telling her my eyes were dry and needed to blink during the eye exam. She told me just to choose 1 or 2 and wouldn't let me take a minute for my eyes to adjust. I submitted a survey and have called customer service but no one has responded to me. My prescription is off and I cannot read at all which is affecting my work. read more

Called to ask about my warranty at 6:45(they had JUST broken or I wouldn't have called so late) to see if I can get a different pair with my warranty instead of the same Swiss glasses, even if I have to pay a bit more. They overbook hence the crazy wait time I had for an hr even with appointment. The seating in the waiting area is terribly small and I felt like the overall eye exam was rushed. Also I just needed contacts. They put you in a room with two chairs with nobody really assisting you. Good thing I know how contacts work otherwise this is BAD experience for first timers! Also you are waiting for a while until an assistant comes in and just hands you contacts. The dr didn't even mention what brand or they really didn't offer much to try. I also am supposed to pay 40-50 per box. And the difference in both my eyes is just a quarter power. Pretty sure my other Dr wouldn't force me to wear two didn't prescribed contacts. I'm just blown away on prices and all. Will be contacting later to go back to my old brand that I was fine with in the first place. You get what you pay for. I don't even want to give this place 1 star. This location is severely understaffed. The staff that works the floor is polite, but that is really the only good thing about this store. I waited for 2 hours to see the "doctor," and when I finally got to see her, she lost her temper over my husband wanting to come in the room with me. I mean seriously lost it. I wasn't arguing with her over him not coming in, and I'm still not really sure why she was so angry with me. The whole thing ended with me storming out without getting an eye exam. This was our second year going to Stanton Optical and I don't regret going back. I was very pleased with our experience. Dr. Drake is the reason we switched over to Stanton, because she's great with children and very thorough. Next, we picked out frames and were helped by a very patient, kind, and knowledgeable young lady named Hailey. My kids were getting restless at this point, but Hailey didn't seem to mind. She answered all of our questions, including the silly ones that my children had. I appreciate the service we received and would recommend them to anyone, especially if you don't have vision coverage. Ultimately, you can't beat a free eye exam coupled with reasonably priced, good-quality frames and lenses with warranty. read more

We walked in on Saturday 5/16 to make an app for Saturday 5/23. The young lady put it all in the computer. When we get there 5/23 we are not in the system and put down as a walk in. No one even asked us if we had an app or are walk in's. The desk and clerks are very unorganized and a little rude when you tell them " no we are not a walk in we had an app". I can not express the disappointment in this store. The people who work there are nice and helpful. The people are not the problem! They are absolutely a rip off and the glasses are not good quality. They also make you stay in the store to get a pair of glasses that could take 15-20 minutes. I don't under why I can't leave and return in that time to get the glasses. They click you out if you leave the store and then you have to wait until the next day. Ridiculous! I have spent way too much money in this store and that's with insurance! This place is horrible!!! I was so disappointed with my service. First of all when I first went in, I told the person that greeted me that I was looking to replace my gas permeable contacts because one broke. I waited in line for almost two hours just to be told that they don't carry them. I went to get my prescription done. I told her that I will go ahead and try the soft contacts because I need something now. Next the eye doctor basically rushed me out she did not make an effort to get my prescription right. Mind you I bought two pairs of glasses abd my contacts. I can definitely tell my prescription isn't right. I'm afraid to drive at night because of it! I'm basically waiting until I can go to another eye doctor in a few months and I can file another claim again. I will most likely be out another $500. They are LESS THAN ZERO. First visit took over 5 1/2 hours and the $69 deal is a joke...wanted over $1,000 for 4 pairs (2 for me, 2 for my wife) but miraculously lowered the price to just over $500 when we said no and started to leave...REALLY? Should have been a red flag that they were crooks right there but we went ahead and paid and left...11/2 hours later they called and said they had lost my frames...OMG how do you loose frames that were in a box with my name and receipt on it, had to go back in and search for another set like the others. Manager apologized and said we would get $75 in store credit which we never saw. Our glasses were supposed to be ready in 4 weeks....4 weeks & nothing, 6 weeks & nothing, 8 weeks and we were told they were ready but when we get to the store no glasses to be found...after an hour the new manager (first one was fired) came out with the original box from the first visit with our frames still in them...nothing had been done! Guess what...we were promised another $75 in store credit we never saw and it took another 6 weeks to get glasses which were supposed to be rushed back in 2....WHAT A JOKE! And that's not the end of the nightmare....3 months down the road our glasses which were supposed to be scratch resistant were 'fogged over' from all the tiny scratches to the point of causing headaches and the only thing we use are Bausch and Lomb cleaning cloths for glasses!!! My wife won't even wear hers at all anymore and is chalking hers up as a loss, but not me, I am furious about being ripped off. I take glasses in the first of August and get apologies...blah blah...they will be ready Sept 6.....the 6th comes, I go in to get glasses and low and behold they don't have them...it will be the 12th....ok. I called the 12th, lady says yes they are ready, I go in to store, same BS different day...my glasses are NOT there, they are NOT ready, someone made a mistake. Your damn right they did, I started cussing and threatening to give a good old fashioned butt kicking to the clerk and screamed for everyone to hear just how livid I was. Stanton Optical is the absolute worst business of any kind I have ever seen and their products are junk. It will make my day to see them go out of business here in Lubbock never to return! I arrived as a walk in and was assisted to the eye exam desk where I had about a thirty min wait which was not bad. I walked around and had a some help picking out a pair of glasses and a free pair after my exam, I sat down at a liens expert who not only helped me find a better pair of glasses but when I stated I might be short on cash but I really needed them he got me a great discount and made sure I still got what I needed and really wanted ..... As I picked up my glasses the next day it was fast and they are great .... I recommend this place for anyone!!! Good family and friendly atmosphere!! read more

Staff was really nice, but do not schedule apts if the docs cannot be on time. We had a 0930 apt and the docs were not even there yet. One showed up at 0940 and the other was after 1000. Frames are all buy one get one free, but lenses run atleast $100 so be prepared. We paid $270 for 2 pairs, which i did not think was bad. Glasses were ready when they said they'd be. Over all. I told them, Ill schedule an appointment for next week. Maybe I can get seen a little sooner. Nope! They took just as long, and some how while I was there I got talked into getting a pair of sunglasses (not prescribed). Did not like how they fit. Tried to return next day, and for some reason they did not want to return my money. The sunglasses have not be worn at all but to try them on. The lady said they have a no return on sunglasses. The exam for my child was done over Skype which was not told to us they would be doing but with no hesitation accepted my insurance and co-pay, we were told glasses would be back in 3 days which actually ended up being 3 weeks, then after all of that I requested that an actual in office provider confirm that the prescription given to my son was correct and accurate- he refused even though I explained that my son has certain disabilities and with a Skype provider it would make it difficult to get that. I feel we were treated extremely poorly and they have no regard for customer satisfaction. Without a doubt do not recommend this place for eye exams. read more

I went in thinking I would get my contacts only to find out I have to pay for the exam using my insurance and copay, a total of $95 even though I asked them several times about the "Free Option". Employees were not professional, my prescription was wrong along with my new diagnosis they created smh...This place needs to shut down!!!! Dr. Tran seems to be always out of the office (randomly and with no set schedule) and to make matters worse the staff failed to notify me so I ended up visiting 3 times in 3 days. While my coworker got two pairs of glasses from Lubbock's Stanton in only 3 or 4 days and was very happy with her glasses and the whole process, my experience has been abysmal (if you're Joey Tribbiani, this might not mean what you think it means). Since my nearsightedness is pretty bad, I needed high-index lenses, so I knew it could take some time for the lenses to be ordered and processed. About 3 weeks later, I finally got my 2 pairs of glasses, but I noticed all the lenses had perfectly circular scratches right in the middle of every lens! I believe these scratches were due to their lens polishing machine, which probably clamps on to the lenses in the middle and spins them around for polishing the sides. Also, the lenses were way, way thicker than my previous lenses. I have never ever had high-index lenses this thick before. When I complained about my scratched, overly thick lenses, they agreed that the lenses were too thick and then promised to get them done properly at their headquarters, where their equipment can process thinner lenses. After not hearing from them for another 4 weeks, I asked about my glasses, and they said they should be ready any day. Sweet. After not hearing anything for another 2 weeks (it's been over 2 months since I ordered my glasses at this point), I went into Stanton and asked what's up. The guy handling my order said he had ordered replacement lenses several times but that each time, they were messed up. But then he said he simply "forgot" to tell me. Actually, I think he just plain forgot and never bothered to order replacement glasses. Then he examined my current glasses and accused me of having glasses that were illegally thin. He argued that their glasses follow regulations, which is why the glasses were as thick as Coke bottles. He said he would kick his efforts up a notch and take care of me and that I should call back in 2 days. I went home and measured my current eyeglass lenses with a caliper--a bit over 1 mm. Lenses have to be at least 1 mm at their thinnest section, which my current glasses satisfy. Not illegal as Stanton dude alleged. Their equipment is simply not capable of gainly high-index lenses. I called 3 days later and found out that the dude who had been helping them is no longer working there, and no one there knew what was going on with my order or my situation. Stanton told me I had to come in person to explain what's going on. I went in and explained how my 2 pairs of glasses were jacked up and that they still owe me 2 pairs of glasses. They say they'll take care of it, but I've heard so much talk without results, I don't know what to believe anymore. If you need high-index lenses, think twice before going to the Stanton Lubbock location. read more

Let me start by saying if I could give zero stars I would. I made an appointment for my son so we could cross that off the list. We were there early and looked around. Once we found frames we still waited to begin his exam. The pre-exam was fine. But seeing the doctor a different story. She started out nice but got a little snippy when I didn't fully agree with something she said in reference to light sensitivity. Thankfully his exam was almost over. Then of course you have to wait to get your frames ordered. I watched an employee walk around the store twice and stop. I approached her and asked for someone's help so we could finish and as I did she's standing in front of the mirror messing with her hair. She came to help us and we were on our way. This afternoon we went back to pick them up and waited for at least 30 minutes. No they were not busy but yet there were at least 5 employees on the floor. It amazes me how they help 1 person and then run away to not help who's next. Between the service, attitude and selection of frames.... next time we will go somewhere else. read more

The service for just an eye exam was very poor in my opinion. Having been seen regularly for the last 43 years due to diabetes I find this business is only about eye glasses and contacts. Upon checking out they had a tv show on called "botched" which was showing a woman with a bad breast implants. It was not professional at all. When I brought them the glasses they made wrong they "remade" them ...took them to my doctors office because it still felt wrong and was as if they never even made a correction. It is not worth it to come here just to save a buck as you will spend more time going back and forth to your eye doctor and these people trying to get your script right. They lose glasses as well. I have never had a place lose my glasses and then have to go through so much trouble just to get a new pair. If you want a cheaper but good place to get your glasses GO TO VISION MART. I've been going to Visionmart Express for about 10 years, but I decided to try Stanton Optical instead. The first visit went per usual nothing of out of ordinary. The ophthalmologist suggested BioFinity - they just didn't feel right as soon as I put them in. I came back the next day and the girl I spoke with basically blamed me, saying I wasn't cleaning them correctly. I've had contacts for 10+ years.. um, I think I know what I'm talking about! She gave me a new trial pair of the same brand and told me to come back again to speak to the ophthalmologist. My 3rd visit went smoothly changes were made to my prescription (so I thought), as I'm walking out the door I say "Thanks for your help! Have a good day!" Both employees standing by the front door were on their phones and didn't say a word to me! Seriously!?! Social media isn't paying your bills, I am. Look up and pay attention - so tacky and unprofessional! I went back to pick up my prescription thinking that it was going to be the last time to go there.... Nope! No changes had been made to my file.. !?!? The 4th time - picked up the prescription got home and it was the BIOFINITY.... you have got to be kidding me!!!!!! I can see why the ratings are so low! After the crappy service I decided it was best to talk to the GM. If it wasn't for AJ's professionalism, customer service and attentive domineer I would have demanded my money back! Those girls didn't deserve the commission. He took my critical criticism as a way to improve the situation. I truly felt that he was concerned and would make sure that this situation didn't happen again. He told me he didn't want to lose me as a customer to pick out a pair of glasses, preferable around the $129 price range for the inconvenience! I did just that! The doctor was nice, but the rest of the employees looked like they would rather be working the 7th level of hell than be here. They are PUSHY about buying their glasses. We only needed an eye exam, so at the end, the guy helping us was almost rude, and intentionally failed to get the Doctor's signature in the RX, I believe on purpose. I decided to go to Stanton Optical as a new patient, despite the low number of 2.1 stars that other people combined have rated the establishment on Google. Kind of like a "don't judge a book by its cover" type of deal. As I walked in I was immediately greeted, which is good customer service, but after that, the experience took a spiral downwards. I wrote my name on the waiting list clipboard, and waited to be called. After being called, I went into a tiny room to get my "pretest" done, standard procedure I am sure. After about 5 minutes of small talk with the person helping me, she told me that my file had been locked, and the whole computer system would have to be restarted. Then she stated that we could go ahead and do the tests, and she was just going to write it down.... On a tissue. I guess some businesses have never heard of notepads or post it notes. After the tests were completed and all of my information was written on a handy and dandy tissue, I then went into the actual, eye exam room. Standard eye exam, just the normal reading letters and telling the doctor that slide one was better than slide 2 and so on and so forth. I left the room and paid for my contact exam, which is apparently not the same thing as an eye exam. An "eye" exam is advertised as free at Stanton Optical. Was not too freaked about it, I paid no big deal. Then I went into the huge room where I spent about 15-20 finding 2 pairs of glasses that I liked. Stanton Optical has advertised, "2 pair for $69 + free eye exam." *During this 15-20 minutes of trying to find a pair, I was not once asked if I needed any assistance* I picked my 2 pairs of glasses, and went to the counter and told them I was ready. After previously stating that I was under the impression that these pairs of eye glasses were going to be totaled up to $69, you can imagine the shock I was in when the total came out to about $392. I was then informed that the deal was only good on the glasses that are located on their "value wall." I told the sales manager that I was not able to afford such a high price. All she did was try to drop the price to $200 for one pair of glasses and a 3 month supply of contacts. Which was nice, I'll admit, but why couldn't she have shown me this so called "value wall." The value wall has no sign of being a "value wall." My experience here was not a good one, and I would honestly not recommend anyone to going here. This establishment leads to you to believe that they have good deals that no other business can offer, while trying to get you to pay a high dollar amount for plastic frames. Just saying, it would have been nice to have been shown the value wall. But I wasn't. Why would I spend any extra money on a place that did not even offer to help me find my perfect pair of glasses?
