They false advertise a lot, so make sure you get the full information before you buy from them. There employees didn't seem very friendly. They always sighed heavy when asked for help. The only glasses they have are what are on the shelf so you can't change the color or anything. They advertise 2 for $69 but that means 2 from the value section which isn't the greatest glasses. They use Groupon, but don't tell you that you can only use the Groupon on 1 pair of glasses. So it still makes it expensive. Their frames range from $49-$200+, and there are more in the $100 range than the $49. Lens' cost $137 alone so the total comes to about $240 just for regular glasses and if you want anything special like transition it will cost more. I've found that it's better to just order through your eye doctor, they will give you better deals. I wouldn't really recommend this place. read more

Ok so let me tell you, Stanton Optical is not a bad place to get your contacts/glasses etc from, but the one that just opened out here in Lubbock TX is so frustrating and inefficient its not even funny. I got my contact lenses examination done in NY where I am originally from, and moved out here to Lubbock for a PHD program that was accepted into. Well I called and asked for trial lenses and they flat out told me i could not get em and to ask the optometrist who originally saw me back in NY like seriously are you dumb or joking with me? Talk about poor customer service. Next when I purchased my contacts over the phone they said it will take 14 business days which means half a month to receive them... Anywhere else 3-7 business days. Once they were to come they would have called me, and guess what on the exact 14th day I called and asked and the girl is like oh hmm let me see, oh i will have to call my corporate office and find out....?!? whaaat.. so i waited 14 days to get that kind of answer and that they will call me later into the day...And guess what no one called me I had to call them only for them to say oh your contacts came 11 days ago!Apparently no one knows nothing about nothing.. All this time I been waiting and their lame is excuse was oh we called but rang once and went to voice mail.. ok so that means you don't leave a voicemail or nothing? and then never call to tell the customer to pick up their contacts? Yea its ridiculous, yes they make you wait even when you have an appointment more than 30 mins at times. I asked the girl when my husband came in to buy glasses if my contacts came in and she just flat out told me it takes 14 days.. and did not even bother to look my name up in their whack system to see if they might actually be there, talk about laziness. read more

I usually do not write reviews but after my experience at Stanton I felt the public needed to know about my awful experience. Let me start with the sales man. He was extremely nice and promised the world, and yes I fell for it. I bought two pair of glasses on Saturday and was promised they would be ready on Monday by 2. On Monday I call they tell me they will have to call me back, never did so I ran by on my lunch hour and they inform me that they will not be ready until Tuesday and then it will be only 1 pair ready. So I make another trip on Tuesday, they bring one pair of glasses out, I was in total shock! The pair they brought out were not even the frames I had picked, purple is my least favorite color and yes! they were purple. Then I am told since I have had so much trouble they will waive my $91 balance. WHAT?!!! I paid 350 on Saturday and had a receipt that showed 0 balance. So not only were they the wrong glasses, two day late, but I owe a balance. So I have to make a trip back on the third day and get my second pair, the young man has the nerve to tell me if I come back Monday he will give me some cases. Are you kidding me? I could have gone down the street, ordered the glasses paid less and had them same day with cases, Instead I ended up making 4 trips to the store and PURPLE glasses. This place is a joke!!! They give you the run around, promise you the world and then to not deliver! read more

Between my husband and I we bought 5 pairs of glasses. The quality of the frames is not the best. Be prepared to wait a ridiculous amount of time when you come to pick up your glasses or get them adjusted. The staff is not very well trained in getting your glasses to fit and feel comfortable. If you have to call in to see if your glasses have come in you will spend at least 5 minutes on hold. I had to have new lenses made for one pair because they scratched easily, even though I got the scratch resistant lenses. I am on week 4 of waiting for my new lenses. They still have not come in. In a nut shell substandard quality and very poor customer service. We won't make the mistake of using Stanton Optical ever again! read more

I don't appreciate any business that falsely advertises! First, the outside of the store is covered with signs "two pair of glasses with free eye exam." However, when you enter the store no one greets you and you begin to just look around the store for the frames of your choice. When actually they should post a sign which states "the $59 dollar glasses are in this small corner!" Also, after you find the frames of your choice you are then taken to a room for your "advertised free exam!" Then, that is when they start to ROB you right before your very EYES. They say you have to pay for the exam and then they will reimburse you after you have chosen your glasses. And, of course the $59 dollars glasses like I stated above are in a small corner of the store! The employee and supervisor tried to get me to believe that the 10 pairs of $59 dollar glasses in the corner were extremely popular! Liars and false advertisement. Well, after expressing my dissatisfaction the manager tried to accommodate me by lowering the price on the original glasses which I had chosen. The bottom line is I did not leave out of the store with 2 pairs of glasses for $59 and a free exam! I spent more than $100 and that was ONLY because I was forced to pay for the exam and the glasses. Also, I received the glasses in two deliveries. The second delivery the eye of the glasses were marked up and I experienced a lot of difficulty getting the crud off! Made appointments for my wife and I a couple of days in advance. They called less than an hour before the appointment to tell me the Dr. left and I would have to reschedule. We had already arranged for a baby sitter. They also called me three times after i made the appointments to confirm. This was our first and last experience with Stanton Optical. read more

First off we had made an appt for my daughter...five walk in and they took them first..we waited an hour and 10 mins to see the doctor. Poorly staffed..to say the least..the girls stood around and was chatting with each other ...tries to sell you crap I didn't want. Very disappointing..to waste over two hours of my time ...when we went to pick up glasses. The next day..bathroom was filthy. Signed in and they again missed us on the list. Waited yet another hour before i went up and mentioned it to the young lady she laughed it off as if I was joking. Sooo irritated. Then they all disappeared. Another gentleman was before me and he realized they took six people before us. They signed in after we were there. I find they either need to train everyone in every dept or get more staff. I have worked for an eye doctor very similar to this facility they apparently think it's ok to have a dirty franchise, staff that is more worried about who they know, checking their cell phones and prancing around. It pretty pathetic when you sit in the waiting room and hear people call the store to see if their glasses are available for pick up. Then to hear one girl promise someone she knew she would have their glasses done in less than an hour and the next person had to wait 2.5 hrs. This is why I will never set foot in there again. If I could have rated it a half star I would. If I was the owner I would worry less about how they look and hire people who actually care to do customer service. read more

Also a MONTH after we ordered our contacts we still do not have them and they let us know they don't even know where they are!!! Hailey was very helpful while searching for glasses. She had me try on multiple pairs within my price range and gave an honest opinion, and she really knew what she was talking about. I went to Stanton Optical because of an ad I'd seen. First, let me say the employees are all very friendly. They had me sign in and told me the doctor was on lunch and wouldn't be back for almost 30 minutes. I said I'd stay as I live 13 miles away and didn't want to have to come back. My name was first on the list but it was two hours after the doctor got back that I saw her. When I was given the price of the glasses they were almost three times more than the ad price as they do not tell you that the lenses are extra. This I find to be very deceptive. I was there a total of three hours. I was told my glasses would be ready in two weeks. I called yesterday and talked to Olivia who took my phone number and stated she would get back shortly. She did not call me back. Stanton Optical has lost my business. read more

Don't go to this place! Worst experience ever! It's been a month and a half and still waiting for my glasses after I've been told twice they they promise to have them ready on specific dates. They never call so I have to call and find out what is going on and that's if you can get a person to answer. When I was there two other people were upset yelling as well. Never again! All staff were very nice and helpful. The thing is I do not like the marketing gimmick of advertizing 2 pairs for $69 . They wanted to make the glasses first without revealing the price but I must know first. Me and my wife got two pair each for $501 and that was after trimming about $100 off the starting price and taking off some features I originally wanted. I do not believe anyone walks out paying $69 for two pair .My glasses are good, the exam was streamlined but I have had exams take an hour or more and wait weeks to get glasses i could not see with. The staff must be trained to be very friendly and courteous, while also calming the shock of skyrocketing prices. I felt conned by pricing strategy . After finding out i do not qualify for two at $69 I find out there are no frames under $69 each .I failed to mention this was buy one get one free promotion so double the price which is why we got two pair each .The staff was nice but their company left me feeling conned. I have been wearing glasses for 50 years I kinda expected the pricing to be a lie. But really we ended up with 4 pair for $125.25 each= $501 not bad but I like straight talk. read more

I went to Stanton for the first time a few years ago and that experience was great. Then I went a month ago and it's been a headache ever since. First, the eye exam was done through Skype, which my son and I really didn't like and wasn't the case the first time I went. Then I went to buy my son's glasses and even with insurance it cost almost $300, which meant that I couldn't afford to buy him a second pair. This was because the lady had automatically added on all of these upgrades that I never asked for and didn't necessarily need. I was never given any other options. She kept trying to sell me on the second pair (which I definitely couldn't afford at almost $300 for one pair) and came back with a lower quote on the second pair than she had originally said when I told her I couldn't afford a second pair. If you can give me a lower quote when I say no then I'm inclined to believe you could've given me that lower quote in the first place. Again I said no to the second pair. Then there was the issue with my contacts. I was supposed to have them last week, wasn't ever called, and apparently now I won't have them until next week. Almost a month will have passed without my new contacts, which I really need or I wouldn't have gone in in the first place. All in all I have ample reason to find somewhere else to go and I'm sorry I wasted my time here. read more

I had a day off and decided to go in for an eye exam, because my normal eye doctor was booked. I called and scheduled the "free eye exam" which infact, is NOT free, and even with buying contacts AND glasses, did not receive a credit for what I paid for the exam. They did NOT pull my benefits with my eye insurance, and they ASSUMED they knew what my benefits were. After I explained that what they were ASSUMING was wrong, they asked ME to provide proof. So I had to logon to my davis vision portal and email them my plan benefits. After that I had to tell them multiple times what my copays were, and what my allowances were. They charged my card multiple times, and ended up having to refund me twice due to their error. They said my glasses would be ready by Monday, (this was saturday) and they would call when glasses were ready. Advised me my contacts would be ready next week, they would call when they were in. (This is after they ordered the wrong brand, and I told them specifically which brand I have used for the last 10 years) I finally called today (Its been two week) and everything is ready, but no one notified me. This store needs some serious training and management help. Poor Poor Service. read more

Placed my order and paid for my glasses on February 15th. Today is March 13th. I have yet to see my glasses! Told me they would be ready in 7 business days.went back to get them and no glasses. They gave some excuses. Told me they would be ready March 1st. Still no glasses. Asked for a refund and they were willing to give me only $50.00 back.Told them that was a bunch is B.S.! THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! The eye exam last less than 2 minutes that Dr. doesnt know what she's doing made my vision 10x worse. went back to tell them that i could NOT see after a few days trying my new glasses and told them i was experiencing extreme migraines and all they did was just give me back my old prescription. The customer service for the actual eye exams were horrible i was left to find my own contacts and just rude and totally inappropriate. The glasses I got were supposed to come with the glare protection on them they did not my glasses were bent and with no nose pieces. and when you try to go back and have them fix the problem all i got was eye rolling and a crap ton of excuses on why they werent going to fix THEIR mistakes!!! they need to just shut this place down no one not even the DRs know what the hell they're doing read more

Called first - asked my question they stated they would be able to help no problem, come on in took my name gave time I would be there stated it would take 10 mins to help no issue. Get there and the girl behind the computer acted like she had no clue what I was talking about, then when I explained my need again and who I spoke to she curled her lips and gave a look of disapproval, the optometrist came out and started interrogating me as though I had done something wrong - I did not stop in to get interrogated I had a legitimate concern and was told I would be able to get my concern resolved in a timely manner without any hassles. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. They do not have a concern for customer service, they also do not know whom they are talking to, other than the words and numbers on a sheet of paper they do not care who you are or what your background is, or what your concern is. The optometrist on duty yesterday couldn't even look me in the eye while he was judging me and interrogating me he also flat lied about when my last appt was...stated it had been over a year, yet when I asked them to print my prescription out it clearly showed I was still within my year and not yet due for my next appt - do you think he apologized - NO - will not spend my time or money at their place again. Once and done, I will find a better place where they actually care about their patients. read more

Very poor impression. The staff is very friendly but the service is very poor. I first went in on 2/24/17, I thought I was getting such a good deal. I was mistaken. The first time I went in to get my glasses, I was told only one set was ready. It had already been two weeks. I could not see out of the glasses . The girl messed with them and bent them around until they were all jacked up and sat cockeyed on my head. She told me to wear them 3-4 days until my eyes adjusted to them!!! I could see very close up but distance was extremely blurry. I kept calling to check on my second pair-after going down two more times and being disappointed. Finally I picked up second pair-I could see great out of them. I complained that the glasses were both supposed to be same prescription, but I couldn't see distance out of first pair. Finally one girl noticed the bifocals were placed too high. They decided to reorder my lenses and they would be redone and ready in 2 more weeks. Well, I has learned my lesson and would call first. I was told they would be ready 3/29/17. I went in to get them 3/31/17-still not ready. I went back two more times-finally they were ready 4/3/17. Remember I first went in 2/24/17. I still could not see distance unless the glasses are perched on the very tip of my nose. I give up. They are unable to get the second pair correct. I will never go back and I will tell everyone who will listen to stay away from this place!!! read more

It would take volumes to write the things which were wrong. Eventually, I wound up paying $79.00 for the eye exam. My contacts do not fit and I will have to pay again to get them checked. Glasses which should have been done three weeks I got today and cost a total of $720.00; I wear no line bifocals and the technician never checked to be sure they were correct (which they are not); additionally, the lenses are so rough the right lens actually cut my face. (Which is apparently not covered in my warranty.) I asked to speak with a manger, who was extremely rude and not overly knowledgeable about much of anything. He finally game me the area manager's name and telephone number; however, the area manager is not at the number I have been given. I am still waiting for a return call which I am sure will never happen. Normally I would have gone to my regular optometrist; but my glasses broke a few days before I was to leave on vacation and I could not get in to see her, I wound up going on vacation without any glasses and one of my old contacts and one of the new ones which did not fit correctly.
