I went to Stanton Optical in 2023 and didn't feel welcome. The staff seemed cold. Didn't want to help me at all. Took forever to get my glasses and then had problem with them. So this time I gave them another chance. It took 3 weeks to get my glasses back. I walk in stood there for a while to be noticed. I gave my name and I ask was my sunglasses in. No answer. I ask again no answer. I ask for a 3rd time and the woman snaps back at me for asking. When I ask a question I expect an answer. She spoke to me as if I'm a kindergarten. That broke me from ever going to Stanton Optical again. No courteous they are not polite. Made me feel like I inconvenienced them. Next time I will take my money elsewhere. I have been getting my glasses at Stanton for several years and have never had such horrible customer service. I called the store on a Monday and was guaranteed my sunglasses would be in a shipment received Friday and made plans to pick them up and leave town. My eyes are very light and I needed them for the drive. I even got a text on Thursday that they were here and to come pick them up. I come and they aren't here. No apology, no empathy no relation or explaining why they would text me saying they were here if they weren't. I asked for a manager due to the poor customer service and needing to know when to expect my product. Alyssa came to help me and she did alright once I told her empathy and engagement were what I was looking for. She offered to give me another pair of tinted glasses so I could make my trip. I came to get them and they weren't tinted. I was told she probably forgot because she left early and didn't tell anyone they should be tinted. Which was the entire point. I was told that the person helping me wasn't apologizing because she didn't help me and she didn't make a mistake. I asked for a manager and she told me she was one of the still no empathy or attempt to calm the situation or keep me as a customer. And when I asked for corporate information I was told sure I could have it they were just going to send me back here. The products themselves are fine but the customer service is terrible. I'm felt like I was the one being told my expectations to have the product I already paid for on the date they called and told me it was ready we're just too much. she told me she could tint them in 20 minutes so I wait just for her to come back and tell me the machine takes an hour to heat up. Then where did 20 minutes come from. They had no respect for me as their customer or my time and money. When I told her I wouldn't be back she just said ok and walked off. This was my first visit to Stanton Optical. I was from out of town, but I really needed to get my eyes checked. It was Labor Day weekend and not only were they open, but they got me in immediately! I went for my eye exam on January 15th I received a dscount because I had vision insurance the cost of my glasses was approximately 280 and to this date February 6th, I have yet to received my glasses! Someone has to drive me the 95 miles due to my health, and they have told me my glasses were ready, so I should come pick them up, and when I called to remind them they are supposed to ship them to me turns out they're not ready after all, From thinking they would be ready in two hours to 3 weeks! Now that's RIDICULOUS I am in hopes that Stanton Optical did not ruin my frames, I did not buy frames from them I used my current frames and have been without glasses all this time. The only reason I agreed to this was because the girl at the front told me it would be 7-10 business days, and they would ship to my home. Poor service. This was four years ago but it took them six months to get my contacts. I kept getting calls that they were in. I lived an hour away and I would show up And they couldn't find them. I took my wife, mother and father-in-law here. This is the worst place I've ever been to. Now the customer service was good, but no matter how good it gets the actual service is beyond horrible; maybe horrendous... no its worse. On the first trip it literally to 7 hours! 7 hours and we had to come back four times to actually get the glasses. On the fourth time we had to wait over an hour just to pick up because they couldn't find them and once they finally found them we had to wait another 30 minutes because they didn't have the frames it was just the lens. Very misleading when it comes to their eye exams. While they do give a "free" exam the cheap frames are very trashy . They say you get a free exam as long as you purchase glasses that are $79. What they don't say is that the lenses aren't included so cheapest you pay $79 for frames, $100 for lenses, and what ever ad ons you want. They are misleading with their wording which is a shocker when I found out my wife's glasses were $200 ish instead of the $79 that was advertised. I give it two stars for good staff but the advertising needs to change because it's wrong. read more

Where to start??? First the optometrist is the fastest exam ever... Like the Nascar of exams... Had to wait for nearly 45 minutes to see him and was out of the chair in 3.... Then I sat for 25 minutes to get a set of trial contacts... Where I meet another patient whom had already been waiting 20 minutes herself... When the person that was checking people in finally got to my a the other patient she put the contacts on the table walked away for 10 more minutes and when she came back told me the contacts would be $58 a box.. not telling me what brand they were or offering another brand.. really because I have insurance doesn't mean I want the most expensive pair. Now let's talk glasses... Because I have insurance I can't get the special offers on the window 2 pairs of glasses for $69 or even the buy one get one offer no... I get the pair covered by my insurance and 40 % off the second which helps but, still not what I went in for. I get one pair for me. One for my nephew and two for my wife. I was expecting the ready same day once again that is advertised. Welp wrong again. Because I got mine but, they were out of the lenses for my wife and nephews glasses. So I get mine and I guess that's a good thing but, not why I stopped at a same day optical center. We had to call to even find out my wife and nephews glasses finally were ready. Now I paid for all the add ons (polycarbonate lenses, scratch coating ,anti-glare, transitions tint, and insurance). Once again mine were right but, my wife and nephews were wrong neither of theirs have the tint and from what I can tell only my wife's had the anti-glare coating. Oh and the final straw I was told 7-10 days on my contacts. Which is a joke because, we just heard from the local office and now the are saying that it will take until the 20th of February for two boxes of accuview 2 contacts to arrive which is almost three weeks after my first visit. Never going to use this company again. I will tell everyone not to go here. $460 spent and so far three weeks trying to get for pairs of glasses and two boxes of contacts. I visited the Lubbock location of Stanton December 18, 2021 and purchased a $100 gift card as a Christmas present for my aunt. She used $25 in February 2022 for a discounted eye exam. When we went back in September 2022 to make a purchase for glasses we were told that the balance was 0.00. Proof was provided for the original purchase from my credit card statement,but the remaining balance was not returned. The on-site employees were nice but the company customer service sucks. Today my son went into the store and got it for me. He had been told by the the office that answers all calls to go personally in an attempt to get the refund. My husband and dad drove 45 minutes for the appointment only to be told the doctor had an "emergency" and wouldn't be in until the afternoon so my dad would have to come back to be seen at 4. I'm sure he wasn't the only doctor. I called and questioned what the issue was and after expressing my irritation and being put on hold the gentleman I was speaking with told me that the doctor would be in at 11:15 and my dad could come back to be seen. The doctor was a bit abrupt in her interactions, but she was thorough and efficient. Christopher was patient in helping me to select frames and determine specifically what lens treatments I wanted (and could presently afford). A few hours before I went there to get an eye exam, I called to check how much it was just for an eye exam and they told me that it was $45 dollars. (without the purchase of a pair of glasses). So I went there without a doubt but when I went to go pay for my exam, they all of a sudden told me that it was $95!! (w?t?f?) I became so surprised and shocked that I started complaining right away that an employee there(I'm assuming) told me that it was $45 when I called. The manager started huffing and puffing at me in a extremely annoying voice that she assumed that I called the corporation instead of the business. I reasoned with the manager saying that Eyeglass World is only $45 dollars for eye exam. She told me in a squealing voice "Sir! this is Stanton optical's price." Puahahaha, telling me that this is the price for the Stanton optical. Its Lubbock for crying out loud! And why would anyone purchase a glasses from there?! They sell stuff from China which is like 5 dollars a pair. The only good service I received from this store was that the optometrist was nice. I am in a wheelchair & I ordered my glasses & specifically told them that they were to be sent to my home, 80 miles away. They called me & told me they were ready to be picked up at the store. I told them I wasn't picking them up, they were to be mailed. They told me it's too late for them to go out today (Thursday) so they will be mailed on Friday. I called today (Monday) & they are still sitting in your store. I was told they would be mailed but I'm not holding my breath. Scheduled an appointment but still had to wait about 30 minutes to finally get seen. Didn't expect the doctor to be via Camera, but I didn't mind that much because of the pandemic. But then once The employees seem inconvenienced to have to do their job / help you everytime I went in there. Originally went in for JUST the eye exam, which I made clear a couple of times, but the employees insisted I do their 2 for $60 (which ended up not actually being $60 for cute astigmatism glasses) so whatever ended up spending $200 + for exam, 2 pairs of glasses, and "trial lenses". They said the glasses would be ready in a couple days and contacts can take up to a week+. My first pair were ready in about 3-4 like stated but the lady didn't know if I was picking up 2 pairs or 1, so she asked me? I said 1 but obviously I'm not the one with a computer with the tracking information on me so how would I know? Then a week later my second pair came in and the guy was nicer than previous employees. Then another week passed and they said my contacts were in, went in to pick them. Again, another case of the employees never having a clue, the lady spent a good while trying to find my contacts and gave me only one (my left eye). I'm just trying to be done with this place at this point so I'm like whatever. Then they call me back the next day or so later and say they have my right contact lenses so I had to go back again.. TL;DR whole experience was just messy, unprofessional, and the employees seems too busy not caring to help you out :-/ 2 stars bc the glasses are alright. I went in for an Eye exam today to purchase contacts. Zach was the eye doctor. He did a tremendously Great job. Very detailed , he got the power just right. He also observed I needed to change the axis on my contacts so they fit better. I'll definitely go back and use this guy in the future. I highly recommend him. The obtricians up front bragged on him too. They said he's very kind and doesn't have any reworks what so ever. That means he gets the rx 100% correct first time around. Zach is an ace !!! The exam and contacts were also a great value. Since I didn't have insurance $89 exam contacts $249 for years supply . The whole process took about 45 minutes including exam . read more

Is there a 0??? I drove 160 miles roundtrip to an appointment at this location. I couldn't make the appointment on time, so I called when I was halfway there to explain that I would be late (which would actually put us there right as they closed or a little after). The gentleman on the phone said that he would have the doctor wait to see us when we got there. Taking him for his word, I continued on instead of turning around and going back home. I honestly don't understand the sheer amount of shit people keep bitching about - I've had glasses since I was 3. I've seen specialists, neuro-opthamogists, and plenty of the good ol' walk-in docs. This last trip their eye doctor - Andrew - Corrected a fuck-up a SPECIALIST made in my prescription that has been continued in exams ever since. I honestly thought my eyes were going since, year after year, my sight was worse. Suddenly, I'm seeing 20/20 again. Was it a long wait? As a walk-in at the end of the day? Not really. I've been buying frames from them since they opened. The one time we had a major issue, they bent over backwards to fix it and gave us several years worth of free frames. It sounds more like people aren't willing to speak up when something is bothering them and, frankly, with the sheer amount of traffic Stanton deals with, that's a personal problem. read more

I am reluctant to give poor reviews as a rule, but this has been a less than pleasing experience. First, I would give the staff high marks for being friendly. But my glasses were supposed to be ready at 4, but they were not - told me there was a mixup, and they would definitely be ready at noon. But then when they brought the, out the next day, they had omitted the tint on the sunglasses. So I was told I would receive a call in about 2 hours. No call. So i called and spoke with Gabby who said she would call me back with the status. I explained that this was multiple delays, and I would prefer to just hold for the status. She was with a customer she explained. I asked if the manager could possibly assist, and she revealed she IS the manager. So now I am waiting again on the glasses, and the second promised call. They are indeed nice, but not very reliable. Also, the sticker shock is extreme. They advertise low prices, but then when you actually but them it is closer to $400. But they will negotiate this down closer to $250 if you are able to do without some of the unnecessary extras. read more

The staff at this location have been friendly each time I've gone in, however I am less than pleased with my overall experiences. In October I knew I needed a new Rx, so I went in despite seeing mixed reviews online because it appeared that people either had really good experiences or REALLY bad experiences. I thought that if I was made to feel uncomfortable, or felt like I was being hustled, I would just leave. Perhaps those are famous last words. I went in with my mother, who was in town visiting, and although the people were friendly the visit didn't start out on the best note. After the eye exam, we were charged $90 -- which WAS credited to my glasses purchase, but this was NOT the "Free Eye Exam" that the sign outside the store promised! It felt like false advertising. Bad form, Stanton. It doesn't take much to say "Free Eye Exam - with glasses purchase." Words matter. I picked out two frames while I was waiting because of the buy-one-get-one. The lady who helped us purchase the frames, frame program, etc was, again, very personable. However, as we went along I watched the bill growing higher and higher. I wasn't happy at this point, but we'd been there for almost two hours so it felt like a loss to walk away with the Rx and find somewhere else. I purchased the frame program where I would get two free frames over the next two years for each frame I purchase (2 frames = 4 free frames), and a 20% discount on lenses. Okay, fine. I think the total for both frames and lenses with anti-glare was around $360? Which, all said and done, was not that bad -- because remember, the total would have been closer to $600 or $700. (Keep in mind this is a rough estimate, based on a memory from 6 months ago.) So I walked away having purchased two attractive frames, and as someone else said, you get what you pay for. This isn't Walmart. When I picked up my glasses, I told the technician that I thought the Rx was wrong. He told me to give it time to adjust and sent me on my way. Well I never adjusted. It wasn't exactly what I needed -- and this is MY mistake: I didn't call them or go back in until 6 months later. So when I went back in, I paid $45 for a new eye exam. If you call them and say you're busy (because I was, which is why I never called), they'll probably work more with you. After I had had my glasses for a little while, Stanton (headquarters in Florida, not the Lubbock store) gave me a call and sold me a lens ... warranty? There's a specific term they use, but I don't remember. For $29, I can take the frames I had already gotten from Stanton in and pay 20% of the lens cost. I understood it to be a full coverage when I agreed over the phone, but I'm still okay with the 80% discount. So I go in today for the new Rx, and when I take my glasses (original frames from 6 months ago) to the front, I'm told that I have a 20% DISCOUNT, and that I'm responsible for 80% of the cost. I told them that I had purchased programs for both the frames and the lenses. The computer did NOT reflect the lens program/warranty/whatever that I had purchased over the phone, and the manager came over, looked at my file, and repeated that I still would owe 80% of the lens cost. (The manager, like the rest of the staff, was very friendly.) Living on my own and being in college, I didn't have nearly $300 to spend to get new lenses today, so I sighed, thanked them and left with my new Rx in hand. When I got home, I called the Florida number and spoke with Katrina. I told her that I was confused because, as I said earlier, I thought I had purchased a greater coverage than 20%! She was, AGAIN, extraordinarily lovely to speak with, and explained exactly what coverage I have: 1) Frame program. Free NEW frame + 80% lens cost. (For my particular lenses, with anti-glare coating, $145/pair of glasses was the quote today 4/10 in the store.) 2) Lens program. Using your own frames (from Stanton, Katrina said), the charge is only 20% of lens cost. It's my understanding now that I cannot use them together (free frame + 20% of lens cost), which I don't exactly blame them for. You have to make money somehow. Katrina placed me on hold and called the store manager (not the one who helped me today, but another one) and straightened everything out. A note was added to my file about the lens program (apparently it must have been missing), and if I go in now they'll take care of it. From what I can tell, Stanton is not a bad company. No, I don't like the way they advertise or tack on little fees so that their base price is a really good deal, but I do appreciate the helpfulness of the Florida office and the pleasantness of the employees at this branch. My recommendation is this: Choose wisely. Ask questions and get solid answers and know EXACTLY what is included in whatever program you're purchasing. Better yet, get it in writing. read more

I liked this place and the staff seemed friendly, but that soon changed when we were waiting for the eye exam. It's basically a group of grownups who behave like high school kids. They are the age to be in the field but don't behave in a way I would want my company portrayed. They leave the paperwork on their counter (there is a spot for social security #) I'm not sure how that goes hand in hand with patient confidentiality. It was such a cluster on the counter they used my insurance for someone else. Thank goodness that person caught their error. They just laughed about the matter. Two employees kept going to a room and were talking about who knows what with the lights off. It was awkward and uncomfortable. I had a good experience here. I am a first time glasses buyer. I was studying in the library when i noticed a sign that i should have been able to read was blurry so I made an appointment, they saw me 2 hours later! It seems like a very corporate run place, to increase customer turn over-which i appreciate I just wanted my glasses and to be on my way I was instantly greeted, had an eye test, picked out some glasses, and had them in my hands within 3 hours relatively inexpensive I spent 240 for 2 pairs of frames and lenses. You get what you pay for. I am not unhappy..I probably won't go there again for the next pair, I like a little more high end..but for the kids or someone that loses glasses its perfect. The employees are very rude and made us feel like we were being an inconvenience to them. Yes, they were busy, but that doesn't mean you can't still be friendly. They said my contacts would take about 14 days to come in which is fine. They gave me a trial pair so no big deal. I get a call saying they are in so I go to pick them up. Only 1 box had come in. I can now change my right one but not the left. Keep in mind I ordered colored lenses. So basically I can't even change the right one. I already have green eyes but wanted to be able to see the lens if I drop one so the green lenses only change the color slightly but it's enough to make them two different colors. So my question to Stanton is, why do you call someone to pick up their order when you only have half of it?! read more
