Upon my arrival in Dallas, I slipped, fell, and immediately broke my glasses. Being incredibly blind, this was a serious problem for the weekend. Friends of mine in the area knew of this particular Stanton Optical and drove me by to find a temporary solution. Mohammed was working at the front desk and was able to find a pair of frames that fit my former lenses, providing me with the ability to see for the weekend. The frames are beautiful, the selection was amazing (despite this fairly odd request), and the service was both fast and incredible. I am only sad that this shop is nowhere near my home base, or I would come here often for my glasses/vision needs. Fell and had my lenses scrape on the concrete creating bad scratches in the viewing area. The appointment ended up being a little over 2 hours with only one person in the whole office. Ended up paying quite a bit for the glasses that were to be ready in a few days. Now I find out it will be 11 days after the visit. Stanton optical will not be used by me any more. The front desk lady was very rude and not helpful. She barely talked to us and when she did she was rude.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend this business to anyone. Someone told me that Stanton Optical made glasses in one day, so I went there. Because I chose a wireless frame, however, they said it would take about a week. After waiting almost a month with no glasses, I asked for a refund. No one ever called me with updates, and the delay was never adequately explained to me, either -- only that the glasses were "at the lab." I don't like writing negative reviews, but I feel like others -- maybe even the owners -- should know that my order for glasses ended only in frustration. read more

Caution. I called and they said they took my eye insurance. We get there for appointment and they tell us the exam is $95 if we don't buy glasses from them. If you go to a legit optometrist that is not scamming you to buy their expensive glasses the exam is free with my insurance and i can take the prescription anywhere to buy glasses. read more

Be very careful. It was my first time getting a prescription for contacts and glasses. I didn't know what to expect. A virtual optometrist did the exam. She sounded like a robot, maybe she was. I paid nearly $800.00 for glasses and what I expected to be a one year supply of contacts. The prescription for my left eye was different than my right and that didn't surprise me, but there were no written instructions for ANYTHING. When you get a prescription at the pharmacy, you get detailed information and instructions every single time. Not at Stanton Optical. It was my understanding that I bought monthly contacts. My prescription expires 12 months after the exam so that would be logical. However, when I looked at the two boxes they contained 24 contacts each. My vision in one eye wasn't clear so after a couple of days I went back. The technician did a vision test with me wearing the contacts (which should have been done the first time, before I left) and she advised me to exchange one box of my contacts for a prescription that matches the other eye. I agreed to that. Later when I got home I saw that she gave me a box of 12 contacts. Yet I gave her a box of 24 to exchange. I was the only customer in the store the entire time I was there, so there weren't any other customers to distract her. Another thing, she didn't remember give me my glasses while I was there (they were ready). I had to make another trip there that I should n't have had to. I paid for 48 contacts when I only needed 12 per eye to last one year. So that's the first mistake she made. Or was it intentional? Today I examined the invoice and it shows two boxes of 24 contacts for $163.99 each. Next to one of these, it says (Cancelled), yet I was definately charged $163.99 twice. I checked my credit card statement and verified that I paid it. Shoddy service or somebody overcharging and pocketing the money? Either way, I won't be going back there for any reason other than to try to get this straightened out. Then I'll never spend another minute of my life or dime of my money there. I feel taken advantage of, disrespected, and ripped-off. We all have bad days but this feels like something more going on there besides one person making an honest mistake. read more

** Read the Better Business Bureau reviews ** I was told on August 8th, 2022 my glasses would be ready in 7-10 business days. It's now been 17 business days, and no one can tell me where my glasses are. No shipping information available. Absolutely no tracking number at all. Website order look up is a joke. Now I am being told it's going to be 3 more days. The plain truth is that they have no idea where my order is. I needed these glasses before driving a long trip on Labor Day weekend. I paid this place over $900.00 for just ONE pair glasses. My money is gone, and I still have no glasses. The people at the store keep telling me it will be 3 more days. Save yourself a lot of frustration and find another place for your glasses or contacts. This place just don't seem to care about anything. Better Business Bureau gives them 1.2 stars out of 5. * Update 08/30/22 * According to website, my order has been delayed another week until September 5th. That is Labor Day, so that is not going to happen. I spoke to the store, and was told that they fired everyone at this location last week. It just keeps getting better. * Update again - 08/30/22 I got the response from the owner, and called the number provided. I got the same call center in India, telling me that my glasses have been delayed. Calling this number did me ABSOLUTELY NO GOOD. The staff at the Firewheel location is the very best. They are so friendly and helpful. I had questions regarding getting contacts and glasses when we discussed my issues using my current (old) prescription they discussed with me what would be best for me and cause less stress on my eyes. Negative 5 stars if I could!! Never again! Their products and warranty are absolute TRASH! 2 pair of glasses I purchased with them and both have issues- first pair the lenses kept popping out- within weeks the glasses BROKE!! Second pair the lens cracked off right where they meet the frames- both lens!! Within weeks of purchase!!! When you try to reach their corporate office you get the run around because each location is a franchise that's independently operated. They never call you back when you try to escalate your situation! When you go to the store they want 20% of the MSRP of the lens and 1 month to repair your glasses!!! I'm NEVER BUYING ANYTHING THERE AGAIN!! You get better customer service and products buying online and cheaper as well! They wanted $36 to repair my defective lenses! I took my glasses and business elsewhere!!! I'm going to buy a whole new pair frames AND lens from a online store with my $36 and get them in a week and never touch a My Eye Lab again!! Such a scam!! Save yourself and do not go to this place! I went to the Myeyelab in Firewheel , Garland Tx I purchased new glasses from them last March. If I had been smart I would have taken my prescription and gone someplace else to buy my glasses as their total selection of frames are very cheap and ugly-even their "designer" frames. After about 9 months of wearing my glasses, a crack appeared in the top center of one of the lenses which was followed soon after by another crack in the same location of the other lens. This, to me, seemed to be a flaw in the way the glasses were constructed as the cracks were in the same location and in 40 years I have never had a lens crack. They said that I was in luck because I had purchased the warranty, but still charged me $150 to replace the lenses. One week after picking up the replacement lenses the same crack appeared in one of the lenses. I returned them to the store and they begrudgingly replaced the lenses again. Yesterday I picked up the glasses and when I got them home noticed that their was chards of glass (sharp) sticking out of both sides where the glass meets the frame. I cannot bring myself to go back in there and deal with this place. I am hoping that these glasses hold together for another month when my insurance will allow me to buy new ones someplace else. This place was horrible. They make all kinds of promises and never delivered. I ordered my glasses on August 21. I just got my second pair today!!! After calling and talking to some very hateful and rude employees I was told that they would notify me when my second pair came in. I was told that they would either call email or text. I was told it depended on who checked in my glasses as to which one they would use. I called today and miraculously they were there. I was told they just came in today RIGHT!!? I asked for the manager or area managers phone number and was given a customer service number that no one answers! I guess because I didn't use their in-house financing, they had my money and they were done with me! WATCH OUT! read more

i've bought from this location a couple times before for new contact lenses and replacement glasses. There's a young woman who's name is Rachel that shows excellent customer service and was a huge help when selecting new frames! she was very patient with me, (i can be very indecisive) unlike some other places i've visited. She answered all the questions i had in a very polite manner and showed empathy and understanding. This is a horrible place. Completely unprofessional!! I was in there Friday, August 7 about 4:45, to shop for new glasses. The lady Latoya was bad mouthing the 2 other employees working there and making threats to them. She was telling another customer that "they are ridiculous and they better watch their back, because she was a force to be recon with". Wow!! This Was horrible and the whole place heard her. I was so uncomfortable and felt threatened myself. In this day and age we need to put racism behind us, especially in the work place. I will never be back. read more

This virtual eye exam is a hoax. Unqualified persons doing test. The eye exam is on a tv screen and was the shortest even after I told the "dr" the entire exam was a blur. My cataracts are worsening and they said I didn't have cataracts. It's been documented for 3 years. I complained to the salesperson the eye exam was faulty and I never had clear vision to choose from. I wanted to be retested the next day with someone different. They agreed and this prescription was nothing like the first. I said something is wrong. Oh your glasses will be just fine and you will get used to them. They finally came in 6 weeks later and it was a wrong prescription. They filled the wrong prescription so my glasses were reordered and took another month. They were wrong again and my bifocals never showed up. The general manager said it takes two weeks to be able to see. Simply not true. I came the next to return and get a refund. She refused and called the police on me someone made her give me back $54 but I told her that I was getting a real eye exam and to prove them to be frauds I would get my other $45 back. I went to my regular eye doctor today and the prescription is nothing like the virtual exam no wonder I couldn't see. My cataracts have worsened. The ones my Eyelab said I didn't have. I am filing a complaint against the optometrist that signed the original prescription as fraudulent and a formal complaint against the general manager who violated my PHI by calling the police on me for asking for a refund. read more
