I have been a patient here for many years and never have any issues. I made an appointment to come see Dr. Suder this week and was called to see if I could see their newest doc, Lin, instead which I was happy to oblige. Arrived for my 11:00 appointment at 10:45 as instructed and checked in with no issue. Was asked to take a seat and I waited for 30 minutes. I became impatient and when asked, they said their system showed my appointment was at 11:30 which clearly was not what was on my text appointment reminder from their office. I showed them my appointment reminder text showing 11:00 and was told to wait and they'll bring me back shortly. Not an apology or anything which is unacceptable. Patients' times are valuable too and if there are issues, a simple apology would have suffice. May be looking for a new eye doctor after this. Ridiculous. read more

Dr. Suder is wonderfully kind, gentle, and patient! My favorite thing about her was how she was very thorough when examining and explaining the procedures used to check my vision. As someone who tends to feel a bit of social anxiety, I was able to feel very calm and informed thanks to Dr. Suder. Over priced and not very good service. I brought in my own frames and they charged me $800.00 for line free lens. They called me twice to say that they are done and I went to the shop and when I asked for my glasses at first they could not find them and when when they did they weren't ready. When I got home I looked at the lens very closely and saw a lens stamp on both the right and left lens. I think the lens are done off site. I also wanted the pads on my frames replaced and that was not done, As far as wanting doctor Bollish that gave me an eye exam before I got an exam from a "back up" doctor. Oh and after a few months went by I got and invoice in the mail saying that my insurance did not cover a test that they did. That was an extra $150.00 more! This vision center is a big pile of NOPE for me. You would be better off going to Wal Mart. read more

Worst Eye Doctor Experience Ever - North Garland Vision. Recommend to avoid North Garland Vision on Shiloh Road. My father broke his glasses in May and tried to make an appointment and citing Covid-19 need for spacing of appointments they couldn't fit him in until June. Luckily his glasses were still under warranty so we replaced without an appointment, but later in early June made an appointment and again was told earliest would be nearly 30 days out on July 7th. A few days before the 7th I received the auto-text confirmation only to have the office call late the day before citing a 'schedule conflict'. Refused to divulge the nature of the conflict. Rescheduled for three weeks later 7/23 for 9:15. Again auto-text confirms a few days before but for 9:30. Didn't notice the time change so arrived at 9:00 this morning. Called the office and no answer even though there are people in the office. Try two more times 5 minutes apart, no answer. By this time, my father notices the door sign says hours on Thursdays are 10-7. I ask a worker (doctor?) walking by the car into the office to confirm and she says she'll ask the front staff but yes, opens at 10. Someone inside calls and says, actually we don't see an appointment for your father. No explanation for why the system would confirm for a non-existent appointment during closed hours. Acknowledges they noticed us sitting in the car parked right in front of the office - but apparently couldn't be bothered to pick up the phone or come out to say anything. So nearly 60 days, two days of work taken off, and they're telling me I'm mistaken about an appointment I texted my parents about minutes after I made it. Wouldn't let me talk to any of the doctors to voice my displeasure and get an explanation.I told her where she could go with her later-in-the-afternoon opening. read more

I will have to try seeing them again next year since my fiance-to-be goes here and likes them very much. But my experience left a lot to be desired. When I tried to make an appointment with them, the earliest they could see me was three weeks out, which was almost two weeks past when I ran out of contacts. I made the appointment anyway based on the recommendation I had. The day of the appointment they called to cancel it because the Dr. was called out of the office. I didn't get the voice mail and took off work early to drive out to their office and they told me in person. The earliest appointment they could fit me in for was 10 days out on a Saturday morning. They didn't offer any discount or benefit to me for them cancelling at last minute. I was able to find an eye exam appointment with a different optometrist for earlier than the 10 days, so I called to cancel the new appointment. On the bright side, the office staff is very polite and friendly, and it does seem like they care about their patients. read more

We have used NGV for several years now, but never again! Regardless of your personal feelings on the mask issue, there are some people who cannot wear them because of genuine health reasons (like COPD, Heart conditions, etc.). That is why the government mandates provide a health exception. The Americans with Disabilities Act requires every public business to accommodate a person with a disability. Dr. Bollish and his staff are flat out refusing to see any one who will not put on a mask. And they are being very hateful and rude about it. If the masks work, then the fact that they all have theirs on would protect them even if one patient is unable to wear it. If a patient submits to a temperature check, and shows no symptoms, what-so-ever, it is actually illegal under the ADA for NGV to just refuse to provide any care to all patients who can't wear a mask. This is pretty despicable of a medical provider to refuse care to the disabled. read more

She was sweet and helpful..I asked to be called if there were cancellations and she called 4 hours later to tell me they had an open slot. Debbie performed the initial tests- she has many many years of experience- quickly and efficiently. Dr Bollish was very thorough with his exam and clear with his explanations. The staff is wonderful & go above & beyond to make sure your are well taken care of. She immediately got us to a specialist who was able to do surgery & now my husband is able to see without having to wear glasses at all. I went to m North Garland Vision for at least 20 years. I was a patient of Dr. Sudders' when she started out at Walmart Vision Center. I missed ONE APPOINTMENT due to a family emergency. I didn't have the number to call and cancel. Plus when a family is dying unexpectedly, calling your Dr to cancel your appt is the last thing you think of. I wanted a thorough I exam and I did get that! However I was there for four hours which was exhausting. I felt they spent too much time with their state-of-the-art machinery and too little time testing my vision which resulted in me having to have my vision retested because of an incorrect prescription. All of that I could forgive but then I purchased a clip on sunglasses and I was unhappy with them. The office manager was very argumentative with me when I tried to return the clip-on sunglasses and then finally offered to give me partial payment back. For that reason I will never go back! They were able to keep their $50 bucks and have lost this new patient along with my family and friends! read more

Dr. Bollish is so kind, calm, capable, and sincerely concerned about his patient's eye health. Ten years ago I had lasik surgery (by a doctor in Plano that use to advertise a lot) that left me with fuzzy vision, zero ability to see at night, and halos around the moon, stars, and every light. I was told that I would never be able to wear contacts after lasik, so for seven years I believed that this was the best I would ever see. Not so! The only reason why I come here is because they are the only ones who can provide the contact lenses that I need, otherwise, I would go anywhere else. I have worn contacts for 17 years and my insurance pays for exam and $100 in eyeglasses. No eye doctor has ever charged me for an exam. This clinic charges me $70, and still bills my insurance! They say this is because of the type of exam that I need is more comprehensive than others. I do the same exam with all previous doctors, and don't notice any difference. If other clinics had the same lenses, I would choose them over NGV. read more
