Got me in quickly for an eye exam. Since there was a little bit of time before my exam I walked around and picked out a few frames that I liked so after the exam I was ready to go. After the exam I walked around aimlessly for approx 20 minutes or so waiting for someone to help me, being ignored by the employees that were cleaning up and putting unwanted frames away (including the two that I had picked out for myself.) Paid for my order of glasses and contacts in full and received a 'promise delivery date' of 2/23, all things considered not a horrible experience.
Took about a week and a half to get the first pair of my glasses, expecting to go in and pickup the pair of frames that I had chosen as my 'primary' set (transitions etc), I was disappointed to find out that they had instead sent my backup pair in the packaging that stated it was my primary pair. At this point I wasn't overly upset as mistakes happen and the associate assured me that they had checked on my other pair of frames and they were in what they referred to as the 'mail room' implying that they'd be shipping soon and I'd have them in a couple days.
That Saturday I called back in to the store to see if they had received my glasses and was told that they had not received them yet and they didn't know where exactly they were but they would 'open a ticket' (Unsure of what that is meant to accomplish), because my promise by date was supposedly 2 days earlier than it should have been.
So today is 2/23, the date that I was promised both my sets of glasses would be here and 3 phone calls later, you guessed it, still no glasses. After speaking with someone this morning I was told that they were 'shipping' and I would definitely be getting a phone call at 4pm this afternoon. So at 4pm this afternoon, anticipating my order would be ready I took my daughter to the bookstore and grabbed a few things from the grocery store (my house isn't close to the Stantion Optical), and gave Stanton Optical yet another call after running my errands to pick up my glasses. This time I was told that they were definitely not in, that it would be 'a couple more days' (anyone's guess at this point as to what a couple means), the employee that I spoke with said that he had checked and they were still in the lab, and offered me a $50 in store credit for my inconvenience.
So in summary, I don't know what happened at this store in the last 3 months, or maybe the people who have bad experiences just don't write reviews, but I've had a pretty unsatisfying experience thus far with Stanton Optical. They've now effectively lied to me by not honoring my promised delivery date, they have given me the run around and told me what I've wanted to hear to get me stop asking questions about my order, and now I'll have to go back at an undisclosed date to finally pick up these glasses that I should have in my possession today. The $50 in store credit isn't really satisfactory in my mind, since I most certainly will not be continuing to do service with a company that breaks their promises. Good luck to anyone going in here, I'll be shopping for another optometrist after this experience (yet again), and I'll certainly be warning my family and friends from spending money with this company. read more
