My initial review of Stanley Steemer services was glowing. We were moving into a rental in Sun City and as an elderly couple we are sensitive to certain airborne particles. We hired Stanley Steemer to come in a clean the air ducts as the previous tenants had a dog. Freddie sent us pictures before and after. Everything looked good. We moved in a few days later and we immediately noticed a strange smell. We knew everything was cleaned already so we purchased an air freshener that was installed at the air filter of the return. When we opened the return and saw the air filter, we were astonished. When Stanley Steemer cleaned the air ducts and vents, they put back the old air filter into the return, and it was full of dirt and dog hair. We were breathing that for two days. Very disappointed and would not use them again. read more

I called their 1800 number and was directed to a service in the Sun City area. When I got to the rug that sits on top of the carpet under the coffee table, we parted ways. The fact that they want to charge me for running the steamer over a rug that they would be cleaning carpet otherwise and want to upcharge me to add cleaning a rug is ridiculous and defies common sense. I could see it if the floors were wood or tile and all their cleaning is a rug in the middle of the room, but this is a rug on top of what they would otherwise clear carpet; they are not cleaning because it's covered with a rug. I like to do this to reduce the wear and tear on my carpet, as that area in front of the couches gets the most abuse; I can easily replace a rug. I brought this to the office assistant, and she said they would have to charge the added fee for cleaning the rug! I am not going to agree to be gouged, period. I was going to inlist them to clean a 2-bedroom condo and add scothguard, but upcharge for a rug that would otherwise be included in the carpet underneath is unacceptable. Their loss! read more

Tech and phone service advised agent who booked the service did not put home lot number on Order so tech went to wrong house, not techs fault. I booked this appointment weeks before. Then I get a tech message to call 800 # that was not fun at all. The tech who came out was nice and polite. Only thing is he missed a few spots. For the additional 60.00 I paid to have Stanley Steemer to come out instead of another company was not worth it. Not happy but life is full of unhappiness at times. Will not use them again. It is your decision to use them just be ware. read more

Update: Stanley Steemer refunded the $75 promptly after I reported to BBB and disputed the amount with my credit card company. For the same reasons mentioned in the original review, I still would not feel comfortable using this company again. I hope those that do have a better experience. read more

I had Stanley Steamer provide carpet cleaning for me. The tech did an amazing job. We code not to remove furniture and it was an easy process and very thorough. I used the "special" they offered and was extremely satisfied and highly recommend them. I appreciated the quote for cleaning and the notifications. We had Stanley Steamer come to our home to clean and seal our sandstone tile, and clean our bedroom carpet and 3 large rugs. The technicians, Chicago and Dillion, did a phenomenal job! And the cost was very reasonable--less than we thought it would be. Our tile and grout looks brand new (it's 20 years old), as does the carpets. The technicians worked hard for 7 hours without any breaks and we loved the fun personalities! We will definitely call them again when we need them for deep cleaning of our tile and carpet. This guy was a complete AH . Needed to have carpet shampooed for vacation rental with people checking in the next day at 4:00 p.m. I told the company I needed a 30 minute heads up and they said driver would give her that. Driver showed up at the house without calling or texting. I informed him that I was not there at the time and I would be there in 10 minutes. He was not happy about that. He said so I have to wait. ​ I did reserve a $133 for three rooms. When I got him into the house he said that the main room is over 300 ft and will be charged for two rooms. Even though the room is 15x14.. and the room was half full of furniture that I could not move .I asked him if he could do the small hallway which is 3 ft by a 7 ft and he said it would be an extra $50. So now we're looking at close to $225+. I let him know exactly what I needed and when I needed to be completely dry by. As I instructed the company prior and they said it would take 6 to 12 hours to dry. This guy told me it would be 24 hours. I said I need it ready by no later than 7:00 a.m. so that I can be put to furniture back and clean the house. That was 15 hours from time starting to 7:00 a.m. . He said that's not possible It will be very wet. I asked if he could soak up the water more, he seem not to want to do that. He said it would still be 24 hours. He said one of the stains he would not be able to get out. I told him that that needs to be cleaned. Nope can't guarantee it. With attitude. he started getting agitated and having a little bit attitude. Not professional at all. I told him to get the hell out of my house. I had to use a dry carpet cleaning kit and it brought up the stain that he said he could not get out. Just a lazy employee that should be fired. If Stanley steemer would like to reach out to me to get this person's identification please let me know. You should know this person is unprofessional and lazy. Needs to be fired. I will never use Stanley steemer ever again even though I have in the past. Hire better people and fire people like this! read more

Stanley Steemer continues to go downhill. The first time we used them, it was great. The next time, so-so. This time, terrible. When I asked the tech where the other guy was, he said they no longer do teams, just one tech per job. Instead of moving furniture, he just tilted it up on one side and had me hold it while he vacuumed underneath. He took about 30 minutes to do 3 rooms. When I protested that it was not clean, he said it was too dirty to get it clean. Then he said the rug was worn out. I said, "I could do this myself. I hired you to do what I cannot." I also questioned whether he had pretreated it, as I requested. He said yes, and proceeded to show me that how he did it: sprayed solution on, then ground it into the fibers with his shoe. I asked, "How does it help that you are using outdoor shoes on my carpet?" He just shrugged. He said, "I can go over it all again if you want." He did, but he did not spend any time on extraction, so the carpet was a sopping mess for 24 hours! I had asked for protection, too, but I was afraid to ask about that. Where are the shoe covers they used to use? Where are the foam carpet protectors they used to use under the furniture until the carpet dried? Lazy and unprofessional. So I am completely unsatisfied, and will not be using this company in the future. I only gave it 2 stars because he did go over everything again (and, BTW, got more dirt out!) Seriously, after the carpet FINALLY dries, I am probably going to have to go over it all again with my Bissell home carpet cleaner. read more

I'm currently pregnant, and during a recent service by Stanley Steemer with tech Chicago, our carbon monoxide alarm was set off and our home began filling with carbon monoxide due to their equipment. We had to call the fire department, who confirmed the propane in his equipment caused a positive carbon monoxide reading throughout the entire home - placing my pregnant self, unborn child, pets, and mother in danger. After the alarm was triggered and Chicago was aware we called the fire department, he continued steaming and releasing more gas into the home as we were waiting in the backyard for the fire department to come. The National hotline was called and they instructed us that the manager will reach out to Chicago and instruct him to leave, we do not owe anything for this service, and they will reimburse for fire department fees if applicable. However that was not communicated to Chicago and he angrily demanded payment. I explained the call with the national hotline and he acted like he had not received the communication. He said we would be on their no service list and Chicago slammed our front door on the way out. I am 9 months pregnant waiting for an hour in 100+ degree heat with carbon monoxide exposure. This was incredibly frightening and could have been fatal. Completely unacceptable. Safety protocols were clearly ignored. Do NOT risk your family's health -- I would never recommend this company. read more

Beware of LIES with this company. They promised to notify me when their technician was on their way to my house, as well as my rental property, but never did for either appointment. Two different people that I spoke with in their office told me that I could pay over the phone via credit card after my rental property carpet was cleaned, but after the technician arrived, he told me he would not clean my carpet until I paid in full beforehand. Even though they have cleaned the same rental property carpet for the past four years and I always paid over the phone after the carpet was cleaned. I guess being a loyal customer does not mean anything to Stanley Steemer. I will NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND I urge you to be ware that they will lie like a rug to you to get your business!! read more

1. They hard pressure upsell then the prepaid service " expires". 2. Last two appointments one was no show and the other went to the house next door and left a note. When I called in they said they had no record. Never ever buy a prepaid service special . The techs breeze through and just get out as fast as they can. 3. Even after poor service where they had to return on an additional service ( upholstery) after they left it with the underside not cleaned and the top side with streaks they returned soaked it and made it worse 4. I would not have called them back except to use up my prepaid carpet cleaning which they then without any text or email said was expired. So .... Buyer beware. My experience started off very poorly when my first technician did a very bad job on our tile/grout. I did not know when he left as the grout was still pretty wet. I contacted Stanley Steemer the next morning to complain and request they send someone to reclean my grout. I was given a 6 hour window and my tech showed up close to 5 pm and advised me he would not have time to reclean the grout that day and wanted to reschedule for the next day. I agreed. My tech (unnamed) was a hard seller for the color seal at $2600.00 and I told him no. He proceeded to tell me it could be done in sections...anyway, he left. I did not purchase the color seal. He did not seem too concerned about the grout. He tried to tell me it could just be stained. The next day Vanguel showed up at my door and he was amazing. He was older than the two previous techs...he reassured me that he would do an excellent job and he did!!! The tile and grout looks like new. He showed me sections as they dried to be sure I was happy. He did not try to sell me a thing. He made it all ok for me and this company needs more people like Vanguel. He has pride in his job and great work ethics. What started off very poorly was rectified by a technician that truly cared. I would give them another chance...request Vanguel!!! read more

I recently had SS clean my large house of carpets and was very disappointed in the cleaning quality. The technician said the carpets were old. Fortunately, I didn't accept his shoddy job as indicative of SS so I called them. Even after 4 weeks, they immediately sent out Juan Rivero. We had our outdoor cushions cleaned. First we were quoted $170 to clean and treat and then technician showed up and said the price would be $330. My cushions were dirty but now they are ruined. The treatment stained the cushion so they look horrible.. Be careful. They seem to be a bait and switch type organization. You get one quote on the phone and the price goes up on site. They sprayed my carpets with solution then went over the area once. After the carpets dried I noticed that high traffic areas were still dirty. My husband used our small steamer to go over these areas afterwards and the water that was extracted was black dirty. So I called them and asked for a redo and the same thing happened again. The water was still extremely dirty. They do a horrible job. I would never hire them again. We bought a Bissel Pro Heat steam cleaner and we finally have clean carpets. We recently bought a house and we hired them to shampoo, deodorize, and place a protection coat in the bedroom carpets, it was 4 rooms. I specifically informed the guy that there was a smell of dog pee coming from one of the rooms and he assured me that he could remove it. We were quoted 200$ once he was done he charged us 400$ and when 48 hrs later when the carpet was supposed to be dry and ready, the dog pee smell was stronger then ever coming from the carpets, it seemed like this guy just spread it around. The carpet wasn't cleaned all the way, it felt like he half assed his work. Stay away from these people they are terrible and will over charge you!!!!!! read more

I do not recommend this company. Hired them to do a deep clean on our tile flooring. After completion, the Stanley Steamer workman suggested a brightening grout treatment that would last at least 10yrs if only water with microfiber cloths are used which we did. Needless to say, this was a scam as the grout treatment did not last beyond a year and a half. This was a $600 plus treatment that make grout bright white but is did not last as we were led to believe. Contacted Stanley Steamer and they denied any such service length and offered to repeat but at full price. When I responded to their prompt response, the email I initially used would not go through as came up as an "unknown address." This company use to have dependable and quality service but as you can see from other reviews in addition to this one, they are deplorable and scam artist. I had Stanley Steamer clean 13 of my expensive area rugs at my townhouse in Scottsdale and they did a great job. They removed the rugs from my home, cleaned them at their offsite location, returned them to my home and laid them out perfectly in the proper locations on my floor. They were very competent and courteous, and I am very happy with the service they provided. I have used them for the past 20 years on my wall-to-wall carpet in other homes in other states and they always did an outstanding job. read more

5 stars for the quality of the work I had done but they are EXPENSIVE! We were in a hurry as we wanted to get the house on the market. The quote was for $600 for travertine tile clean, 3 bedrooms of carpet and stairs, some hardwood floors. The two techs properly determined the tile needed to be stripped and sealed, they were right. Now I was up to $1900 without the hardwood. I think it all took about 4 hours. They had an extractor and a floor polisher. The tile is greatly improved but pushing $500 per hour seems excessive. The hardwood floor I skipped because they wanted $1600 for that. I think they were only going to use their extractor on it, probably an hour or so, it wasn't that much floor. If you have time get some competitive pricing on it. I can't imagine everyone is that high. read more

Carpet was soaking wet. The guy seemed to have a lot of trouble with the equipment. Carpet smelled after cleaning and it seemed as though no dirt or water was extracted. Only passes of steam in a very quick manner on carpet. Couch was worse after cleaning. Management was no help. The guy was rude and seemed confused about what was told to him. He thought the house had stairs. He Wouldnt honor special untill I called the office. This took over 25 minutes to settle over phone, and then he had an attitude with price originally quoted and did a poor job. Not sure if these guys try to get extra for their pocket, but management has to change to stop this shady behavior. read more

Actually, this is a comment that I'm hoping will get to corporate more than a review of the work. One of their trucks is cleaning the office next to me right now and my neighbors speak very highly of the cleaning work, so that's really not the issue. These trucks are really really noisy! I mean noisy like a jackhammer. Like staff decided to take a break and go for coffee somewhere else in another building. Like being beaten in the head with a hammer and wondering when will this stop? I called their office today and asked the woman who answered if she could hear the racket. She said she could and understood why I was calling. Remember, I was calling her from inside my office. I like my neighbors in the office next to me and I understand they have to get their carpets cleaned, however, when I have to have my carpets cleaned I use Zero Rez because when their trucks come out they don't disturb everybody within half a mile (okay, I might've exaggerated a little on the half a mile). So in the end I'm sure they're doing a great job, but they need to be insulating those trucks so that you don't feel like screaming off into the traffic as a crazy person when they're parked outside your window. read more

I am very happy with Stanley Steemer!! From the beginning! I spoke with Amy ( Customer Service, & working from home :) very professional and so friendly! Helped me schedule exactly what I needed cleaned on the day I wanted, too. Then Eddie and David came to my house, exactly on time ( I even asked for them to come an hour later at last minute prep around the house)!! They came out in a clearly marked professional vehicle , they were wearing masks, gloves, foot coverings and a very friendly, professional manner. I showed them my home and the rooms of carpeting that I needed cleaned, they explained to me how they would be conducting their work. They did as explained, moved furniture that needed to be moved. My carpeting throughout this house is over thirteen years old but, came out beautifully !! This service was better than expected! I'm writing this to hopefully prevent other people from falling prey to this. On the phone Stanley Steamer told me they could do 3 rooms and minimal carpet stretching in another room for a total of about $150. A wonderful price! Too good to be true? YEP! When the SS techs got here they said, "Oh, we have you down for 4 rooms and no carpet stretching. They said other people in our department will have to come out and do the carpet stretching on another day because as carpet cleaners we don't do that. Plus carpet stretching will be an additional $150 per room aside from the price of carpet cleaning. Then he called his boss and said "Oh, we actually do not do carpet stretching at all." I said ok, so let's regroup. Will you at least honor the price I was quoted of carpet cleaning three rooms with NO carpet stretching which was 119 for 3 rooms? The tech went outside and talked to his boss, came back inside and said, "The best we can do is $188." I said, "No hard feeling guys but this is classic bait and switch so my answer is no." I used a company called EcroClean that had a coupon on Groupon, read all the reviews which were, bar far, positive. This company cleaned MY ENTIRE HOUSE and deep cleaned the large front room for 95 bucks and did not try to upsell me one single time. The Groupon was for $55. I called and asked about the "catch." She was honest and said that price was for a light cleaning. To deep clean my front room with pet urine would be an additional $40. It was exactly as she stated. 55$ for whole single story house and an additional 40 for the one room that needed deep cleaning. I will be using this company going forward! Ecoclean. Technician was very punctual and cleaned up drips on my floor, but did a mediocre job on my carpets. Traffic areas were done as quickly as the cleaner areas of my carpet. (I expected a second swipe on them, like other companies have done.) I had the tech redo a missed spot on my carpet. A quick spray & rub with his shoe, and the spot was gone. (Interesting technique, although I would have preferred a clean brush.) Needless to say, I tipped generously seeing that employees are hard to keep post Covid. My carpets are still pulling up dirt, etc. even though they have been thoroughly dried and no foot traffic or furnature has been on them. Next time I will opt for a company that uses a rotating brush to be sure I get a cleaner result. read more

I have used Stanley steemer for carpet cleaning services for a very long time. They do a great job. you need to be careful what they charge you. You can call in to schedule service and ask about specials and they will ask for your address first to see what you were charged previously and then we'll give you that cost. So I paid $119 when I was originally calling about the $99 special. and then they're always trying to sell you additional add-ons when they get to your home. read more

Horrible Air Duct Cleaning - Do not recommend. they came the first time for four 4 hours. the AC units have to be off during cleaning and when they turned them back on debris started flying out of the vents for hours. dry wall, insulation, dust, stuff that looked like mold. i have a baby so i panicked and cleaned and cleaned but it was coming out faster than i could clean. i called back and they rescheduled another cleaning a few days later. they admitted the ducts were still dirty and started to clean again but only for 60 minutes and left. clearly they didn't do a full cleaning or full inspection of the previous improper job. they offered me a $450 gift card to clean the carpets and sofas that got covered in debris for days due to their mistake. when they left he air didn't seem any better. Then we left for vacation a few days later and when we got back a week later the house was filthy and smelled like dust in the air. the whole family including the baby was sick the next day, coughing, wheezing, runny nose, congested. i called back and they sent out another inspector. he said the vents were still dirty and that our soft vents were falling apart and thats blowing debris around. he said if he had been the first inspector he would have explained that Stanley Steemer should never have touched these vents because cleaning them would have made them fall apart and cause issues like we're currently dealing with. i called back and they offered me a refund of the service but took back the gift card. i asked to keep the gift card for damages and he said no. so now we have to pay $450-500 to get the carpets and sofas cleaned that were covered in debris from their mistake, $800-1000 to have a deep clean of the house because who knows what was flying out of the vents for weeks now. Any medical attention we might need since we are all still sick. and i have quotes coming in to repair the soft ducting that was destroyed by them. and i still have to pay to have ducts cleaned since they are still dirty! read more

They tell me a window afternoon 2-5 .they text me at 4.25 tell me the crew is on the way.at 5:25 nobody shows call in and the company says we cancelled at the door comeback another day. Now we needed the carpets cleaned I know my yelper community has been in the same situation need carpets cleaned having a party, family coming over, it's a holiday Etc so to find out they were never going to clean the carpets and tie me up to an appointment with them so I do business with them unbelievable this is so rude . Ok it gets better I call up the next day talk to corporate they are going to get back with me we are so concerned they did not clean my carpets they said 2 weeks later No follow up call no follow up at all!!!!! I had COIT and Stanley steamer both come out to show me their process for cleaning my tile. Nick and Elvis came out and they did the most amazing clean ever. I had rented my house out and the floors were disgusting. I also received the color grout treatment. It seriously looks like I have a brand new floor. They cleaned my kitchen tile last year and did a good job. This year, they're doing both the kitchen tile and grout as well as the granite counter tops (clean and sealing). I've actually never had the counter tops done since installing them several years ago (I know... I know...). Ian was the tech and appeared to be pretty honest and straightforward. Talked about the pros and cons of color vs. clear grout seal ("if we're cleaning it every year, you probably don't need color until it gets really bad and color is 2x the price") and telling me that granite only needs to be cleaned and sealed, not polished too like other stones ("it's really too hard to see much difference but I'll show you both and you decide."). He did one section vs. another with the polish; slight, but not worth the additional money. So yeah, I'd say they did a good job and it was worth it. I get the tile done once a year, and now I'll add my granite counter tops too. So if you book these guys, ask for Ian if you can; I'm sure they're all good, but he was legit and efficient so kudos to him. read more
