I would never recommend Stanley Steemer. The worker Krishna was unprofessional and disrespectful. The company had to come back a second time because the first cleaning job was done poorly. When I shared my concerns, the manager raised his voice and was rude to me. I felt that I was treated unfairly and spoken down to as a Black woman. When I told him I planned to file a complaint about how I was treated, he replied, "Go ahead, I'm the manager anyway, and the complaint will come back to me." I still contacted customer service, but my calls were redirected back to him. At one point, I was put on hold, and when they returned to the call, they were laughing about what had happened since he was the manager. The entire experience left me feeling humiliated, disrespected, and uncomfortable. It was even worse because this happened in front of my realtor and a professional photographer. His tone was loud and aggressive, as if he were scolding a child, which I found completely unacceptable and unprofessional. After much confusion of whether or not they would be able to clean our furniture after 2 appointments ( of which one gentlemen did our carpets but did not feel comfortable doing the furniture , and another one who only worked there for 5 months had no idea what he was even coming to the house for) it finally happened. This is a long one but I feel compelled to warn folks about the horrendous work and customer service Stanley Steemer provided us when we hired them to clean our duct work. Had them out for duct cleaning for construction dust in our air system from a remodel. They did not perform half of the jobs on our service agreement, the jobs they did do were horrendous. They left behind a huge mess. Dozens of sharp bolts scattered across the floor, trash from the replacement air registers and the old moldy registers left scattered around, dust and debris all over our furniture and floors, metal shards and scraps left in the attic, holes left unsealed in our air handler. They left behind dirty rags, cleaning supplies, tools, and drill bits. Left dirty handprints on and scuffed the walls, deeply scratched brand new flooring, wrecked a door frame, left our dryer duct disconnected at the dryer and outdoor vent, broke our dryer vent cover, leaving the pieces on the ground. Left the crawlspace air handler totally untouched and the returns in the house were left filthy and still full of construction dust. Left without turning the breaker to the upstairs AC back on and had me thinking they broke the AC. Thankfully that turned out ok. When I was paying for the service, the tech told me he "didn't trust" Stanley Steemer to give him the tip and asked me to tip on cash app instead, making sure it went through before he left. Foolishly and feeling put on the spot and extremely uncomfortable, I agreed. I thought that going with a national brand like Stanley Steemer would mean reliable, quality service. Nope. They had to come back after the original crew messed things up for a total of 5 trips because they did not have their basic equipment needed for the re-do or forgot something. They kept coming by the house after that and texting us for MORE forgotten stuff. Getting a refund was an absolute nightmare and took forever. We were insulted when they offered us less than half back on a gift card. The manager was barely responsive, smug, and unapologetic until he was emailing us with his bosses copied. They did offer to have their contractor fix our floors and doorframe but we declined. We did not feel comfortable having them or anyone associated with them back in our home and accepted a check for the repair instead. Regardless of the partial refund and re-clean, we should have been treated better by management and received a faster resolution considering the huge inconvenience this was, the damage, the weird tipping situation, and how much time off of work we had to take. Management basically argued with us about a refund and was unwilling to provide us with what we felt was fair. The situation took over 4 weeks to resolve and that is totally unacceptable. I was disappointed first because I wasn't called or texted when he was coming as promised. Second, he cleaned a large area rug & love seat in less than 35 minutes (that counts the time it took unloading & bringing hoses, etc. in), third--He didn't have covers on his tennis shoes. That should have been a quick giveaway & I should have said forget it at that point. I can't tell a bit of difference in the rug or sofa. This was my first & last time. The lady I spoke with scheduling the appointment was great & was SO complimentary but it was nothing like she said it would be. I wish I had read Kenneth L's review before I scheduled the appointment but the scheduler kept saying you will be so happy & satisfied & if not, we will make it right. read more

I must say I was highly disappointed with the service only using them the first time. Can anyone tell me how you can accurately deep clean a living room carpet with an extra large sectional sofa in 30 minutes? The sectional wasn't reclined at all, so several areas was missed. The carpet has not dried yet and I can already see stains. I called the office to expressed my concern. I was told by the rep that it usually takes 15 minutes for a living room carpet and 20 to 25 minutes for sofa because they've been doing this a very long time. That response totally caught me off guard because everyone's home sizes are different. Wouldn't you agree? Then I the rep went on to tell me that I needed to wait until the furniture completely dries and call back tomorrow and if there was any stains, they would come out as a courtesy. Courtesy really, a courtesy for something that I already paid a rush job for. I was charge close to $400 and I would never use this service again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

First I apologize if this is not the correct branch of the company., and if the review is for another branch I will correct it. I made an appointment on line to have three rooms of carpet cleaned plus a hallway. Schedule was on a Saturday between 2 and 5. Office called at 4:53 pm to tell me the cleaner was on the way, who soon called and said he was running "a little late" and arrived about 5:20pm. This already had me a little irritated as there was an event I could have attended if I had known they were not going to arrive in the 2 - 5 window. The carpet was heavily soiled in particular areas, but employee quickly dismissed it as "normal wear". Once things had dried it was very evident that these soiled areas had not been given any additional attention. I called on Monday and asked for this to be recleaned on Thursday morning. Thursday morning I get the same employee and one more employee. The one that had come before had a serious attitude problem. He waltzed in and as I pointed out the areas of concern he snapped "that's the wear areas I told you about and there's nothing I can do about it. I will reclean but nothing will change." He was correct. He zipped through in twenty minutes, tossed the receipt in my direction, and again stated "there was nothing I can do about it." Stanley Steemer will never have the opportunity to provide services for me again. read more

Stanley Steamer employees from the Swansboro, N.C., office came to my home in Havelock to apply a color treatment to my ceramic tile. Both Nick and Stephen did a wonderful, professional job. They quickly and curtiously worked to make the tile floor colors pop! As I have 12 inch tiles and two different colors in the master bath, the re-newed grout color they used were a perfect choice for the two tone situation. Nick provided his expertise to me to choose the correct grout color based on the tile In my house. Furthermore, both Nick and Stephen diligently worked without stopping to complete the entire job which included my full kitchen, two hallways, two small closets and a bar sitting area in the living room. I was very happy with their work ethic throughout the 5 hours they were here in my home. In fact, the first 30 minutes were spent explaining to me the benefits of the color they had available to them to use. The color was not what was ordered but both Nick and Stephen showed me that although it was a lighter color, the end result would work well with the two color tiles I had in the master bath as well as provide a nice contrast with the lighter tiles in the kitchen, hallways and closets. Once they were done, I was thoroughly pleased with the result. They were correct. My tiles now look like brand new. And, that is saying alot. The tiles are over 20 years old. I will continue to use Stanley Steamer to clean my carpets, tiles, and apply grout color in the future. Please let Nick and Stephen know how happy I am with their work. They deserve a raise in pay, I think. They both earned my respect for their efforts and their superiors should be proud to have them as their employees. My rating is based on the safety practices and lack of responsiveness at this Stanley Steemer location. I hired Stanley Steemer to clean an area rug and a few rooms with carpet in our new home. The visit lasted approx. one hour. Shortly after they left, I began feeling very ill. Luckily the previous owner left a carbon monoxide detector in one of the bedrooms which alerted me to exit the home. There were dangerously high levels of carbon dioxide throughout the first level and garage. In hindsight the Stanley Steemer van was parked too close and the exhaust pointed towards the house rather than facing away and running the hoses a little farther. I called Stanley Steemer later that day to provide feedback and was directed to the managers voicemail. I never received a call back and tried again another day. Still no response. This situation could have been easily avoided if proper safety procedures were in place to protect their customers and employees. If you decide to use this Stanley Steemer (or any carpet cleaner), pay attention to how they parked and open your windows to prevent carbon monoxide from building up indoors. read more

Stanley Steemer made our stained old carpets look brand new and smell fresh. Our carpets are 10 years old and get a lot of wear. There were pet stains, candle wax and general foot traffic stains. Have tried spot cleaners and good vacuuming. They don't work. Quincy and Avery were wonderful. Their staff called when Quincy and Avery were on the way. They were professional, in uniform, on time, meticulous, wore booties, left no mess, answered questions, offered general care and spot cleaning tips. Also offered additional services but there was no pressure. It's a whole lot cheaper to clean carpets than to replace them. I'm so glad we did!! I've been seeing their commercials for $99, but when I called they said it was just for 2 rooms. Then it is $20 per additional room, and even more for a hallway. Then add another $20 a room for Carpet Protectant and another $20 a room for Deodorizing, and you are well over $200 for a small house! No thanks. read more

Stanley Steemer Carpet branches are independently owned franchises. This franchise does 'OK' work but they are not customer focused or friendly. You cannot work through a scheduling issue with them, if necessary, because you cannot reach anyone other than the reps on the telephone. The reps for this franchise appear to be scripted and do not have the latitude to be flexible in resolving issues. They will tell you they will pass your issue on to Cory or Robert and nothing happens. Supposedly, one of them will call you; that doesn't happen. My experience with this branch indicates that they do not care about customer retention and they will take your money if you cannot fulfill an agreement. (Life happens and I expect companies to be reasonable to try to retain customers and keep them happy) I have used Stanley Steemer in other states on the west coast as well as the midwest for years and found them very pleasant to work with. I have lived in North Carolina for one year to date and this is my first experience in North Carolina with Stanley Steemer. This franchise has lost a very good customer. read more

We scheduled a move out cleaning 2 weeks in advance. We had to reschedule due to issues with the movers( military move), from an original Friday clean to a Saturday clean. Our time slot Stanley Steemer gave us was between 12-3. They started calling at 11 trying to come early, we told them it would be closer to 12:30-1PM before we could get the furniture out and they could clean, because the movers had had a flat on their truck. The showed up at 12:15 walk thru say they will do it and have me sign the papers. They then go out and call their office and get told to leave because the furniture was still being moved. Our movers told the carpet guys give them 15 min to finish moving the stuff, to which SS guys said ok they would run to the store and be back in 15min. They disappeared not returning, having dispatch call to say I had to reschedule for Monday. To which I told them I would be out if state, because we were moving 4 states away, and had to have service today. They left twisting in the wind. So, don't count on they to honor a commitment or tell the truth. Find someone else especially if you are on a deadline if any kind. read more

The crew arrived on time, reviewed the services I wanted, and made a few suggestions to improve the final outcome. I could not have been more pleased with the results. I'd had my carpets cleaned earlier this year from a company I found via a Living Social coupon, and that particular experience was one big frustration and disappointment. I'm so happy I decided to switch. I might have paid a bit more, but the end result was worth it! You get what you pay for. Stanley Steemer lets you book online, gives you an initial quote, and the crew will move your furniture for you. The other company...did none of this. We just moved in a few months ago, and our little boy dog was not happy about the move and proceeded to mark his territory on our area rugs. We called SS and figured we'd also have the bedroom carpet cleaned since they'd be here. For positives, they were here earlier than the promised 2-5p, the cleaning was quick, and the guys were nice. For negatives, none of the pet stains came out, so I found an enzymatic cleaner online I'm going to try, and although the site says they would move furniture, they didn't even bother to get one corner of an area rug out from under our couch and tried to clean around it until I called them back in to do it correctly. Not a horrible experience, but for $260, I expected better. Won't use again. read more

Have been a twice a year customer of Stanley Steemer for 17 years and have always been pleased. They arrive on time, are polite, protect my furniture, doorways, and walls from damage, and do a thorough cleaning job. Not much more to ask. I worked for several years in the flooring business and know that steam extraction is the only way to go. It doesn't leave a sticky residue that causes quicker re-soiling. Had my hardwood floors worked on and they damaged my entire downstairs over 1,000 sq feet, will not give me a refund and I now have gone through my insurance company and damaged has been estimated in excess of $14,000. Called manager, didn't even come to my house, asked me to send pictures, then said wait two weeks floor will go back down. Really...I strongly recommend NOT using this company. read more

Truck #128 WORSE EVER! The truck itself has a problem. We have used Stanley Steamer for years and never had one this loud or shake the neighbors houses so badly they had to leave for an hour. And the staff on this truck has horrendous skills - they gave me grief and I am pretty certain the one said "fu** you" in response to my asking him if he was done if he could possibly shut down the truck. The noise was extraordinary but worse, their service is horrendous and their attitudes - well, let me just say I would NEVER hire these two. read more
