I was referred to Stanley Steemer by another firm who is not equipped to clean flex ducts. I had called several firms looking for one who could clean flex ducts, but most said they can't. One widely-advertised HVAC company quoted me $2,000! Stanley Steemer isn't known for duct cleaning, and I was skeptical. We were very fortunate to have someone cancel so they were able to get us in same day. They were able to blast out 15 years of filth and dust all within about an hour. Used the service for water damage and was extremely pleased. Two fans were to be left, the team only had one. The job was completed on a Friday, and called first thing Monday @7:30am, and conveyed that I will need the fan until the end of the week since my basement was still damp. 2 hours later I received a call from S.S office girl telling me they need to pick up their fan. I explained that I just got conformation that I was able to keep the fan until the end of the week, and the fan will be picked up Friday. This woman was not only rude, but continued that this person had no right to do this, and went on 7 on. At this point, I just said this is not my business, but yours and disengaged the phone call. No one arrived Friday the 29th of June 18. I was out all day on Saturday and received 3 phone calls from S.S that they will be picking up the fan. They also came to my residence on a Saturday morning...a day late my neighbors told me. At this point I'm upset with the service and phoned the office. Jeff who answered the phone & is also a manager, told me that it was my duty to call when they never showed on Friday stating "We are In Business." WTH! This man was just aching to pick a fight with a customer who just paid $600.00 for their service, and I did have some choice words for him also. He continued to ring my phone @ 4:37pm, 4:40pm, and 4:47pm, still shouting at me looking for a fight. I said if you harass me and call my phone once more, I'm contacting the PA State Police........the calls stopped. First thing come Monday, I'm going to the Magistrate to file a cause of action against this company, and this manager Jeff for harassment! by communications. We had a terrible experience with the technician who made us feel uncomfortable in our own home. He was unprofessional and rude. He did not know how to hook his hoses up to our water line, he stepped in dog poop and brought it into our house and on our carpets and did not admit it until he was done with the job. He lost his tablet in his truck and asked me where it was, he took 2 hours to clean 3 small bedrooms and a staircase. He tried upselling me and was rude when I declined. He didn't use wedges, furniture protectors, shoe protectors, etc. He even asked me if I had a door stopper and suggested we use my ceramic decorative garbage can to keep the door shut. These are basic materials and services he should be used to providing and using. To top it all off, he asked for my credit card without knowing how much the total was. Since his tablet died, he needed to take my card into his truck for payment so I could not see what he was doing with my credit card. All around very unprofessional and incompetent. I am very dissatisfied that I had to have him in my home for 2 hours and paid almost $300 for it. I do not trust that he completed the job correctly. I even pointed out stains and they are still there and he didn't even summarize his findings or anything. How can a nationally recognized company like this hire people who can't do the job and have no customer service skills and charge extremely high prices compared to their competitors? So I had a carpet cleaning last year and it was not good. I even paid extra to get the protection on it. This crew that showed up had to be newer and then I called back in for spots that came back up. I was told I would have a reclean and moved everything once again in my dining room, hallway, and living room. The guy showed up and put spot cleaner down rubbed the spots with it but didn't clean everything again. The spots came right back up again. I was contacted after leaving a review to be rescheduled for a reclean. Well I ended in the hospital and had to cancel. I got a 40 minute call a head which was nice the window they gave me was between 10-2 didn't know they gave a call ahead but my wife made the appointment so maybe they said it to her and she didn't tell me. He two guys that came were nice Brandon and Damon hey had booties but I had to ask them to put them on the stairs were scotch guarded and cleaned along with my loft coffee was dropped down the stairs(I know right) the appointment was two days go and they showed up when they were suppose too. I had four runners that I wanted to clean. The associate arrived two hours late and the bill was for five runners and without the $25.00 deducted. He said please sign here and I'll fix the charge later. I said no, please call your office to correct the price plus the discount. He called the office and the rude manager said the price was correct. Sir, the price you quoted me before was for four not five and minus the $25.00. He wouldn't correct the cost. I had high hopes for my Stanley Steemer visit considering I was paying them over $90 to clean my mattress but I was sadly disappointed in the whole process. when they showed up they started to walk through my house without taking their shoes off I had to tell them to cover their shoes with booties. then they leave my door wide open and my cat gets out (still haven't found her) then they tell me it will take 3 hours for my mattress to dry and I have to leave my windows open and the fan on the entire time to freeze my butt off. then they didn't even remove the stains from the mattress and then they spilled fluids all over my carpet, sheepskin rug and tile! Set up and knocked out my 7 rooms, stair cases and hallway in about 2 hours. AWESOME AND CLEAN. Stuff I could never remove with my home cleaner was completely gone. Smells good and looks great. Big improvement and great since I am going to sell my home. Totally undid the years or pet (2 dogs) and kid damage. *** the crew explained they don't know what their daily assignment is each day. They get assigned after each job. Holiday times are crazy busy. So they could get assigned cross town in traffic or have to fill in for other crews who are tied up. My carpet was not really dirty but I wanted it to look great, then I decided to get it cleaned, unfortunately its aspect did not change at all after the "cleaning", it looked like they just came to wet my carpet, the work was done very fast and I do not know if the problem was their machine, the solution they used or the person who did it, but my carpet did not look cleaner, the very few dirty places it had were still there. I called to their office while the technician was still at my house and I was unable to talk with a supervisor, I was told they would call in 48 hrs, I received their call the next day she said they do not do refunds, I was able to have half of my money back, but that is not good enough since they did nothing for my carpet. read more

I had a mixed experience with them for rug cleaning. The first service may as well never have been done. We sti6had horrible traffic patterns. But then they sent a team to target the areas we weren't happy with. These 2 guys did a much better job. Then the lead guy offered us a special deal, protection and deodorizer for $90, indicating he wouldn't charge for the protection. He stated the protection would prevent our carpet from getting any worse. They left and the first spot we had to clean left a large brown ring. We tried cleaning 3 times with no improvement so I called. Turns out they don't offer anything called protection and they are unwilling to address the new stain without charging for the cost of a room. The spot is about an 8" circle. I would never ever have purchased $90 worth of deoderizer, but that's all that shows on my invoice. Nothing about protection and those I've talked to deny they offer it. I feel as though they added the talk about protection because no one was buying expensive deoderizer. And most of the time I'm guessing customers don't try to contact them about a protection issue. I also learned they have a 30 day satisfaction guarantee but if you have them back like I did, that ends the guarantee time frame. My first service was May 13, 2022, the follow up service was May 19th. That's only 6 days and I'm still not satisfied. read more

I recently had our kitchen tile floor and grout steam cleaned and the grout lines re-stained a different color. Was quoted one amount online for up to 300sqft. When the technicians arrived the price jumped by $170.00 because they claim the area was two areas and not one because they were separated by a protruding kitchen counter. Keep in mind the entire area was STILL under 300sqft. I basically told them if they wanted to up charge me then they could just leave. He said he could drop the additional charge by $100 and I just gave in because I wanted it done and I took off work to be there. Bait and Switch and Bad Attitude The two technicians showed up within their window time frame. I showed them the four areas to be cleaned and the lead technician proceeded to tell me that the grout would not come clean and immediately tried to sell me additional services. Before they started the job, I was asked to sign a Slip and Fall release, or they could not start the job. While they were cleaning the kitchen floor, the lead technician began to tell me that I have cracked tile. I asked him to turn off the steam machine as I couldn't hear what he was saying. He pulled the hose out of the vacuum mechanism and held the hose to his shirt and continued to tell me that I had cracked tile and that I needed to sign another release. As I was discussing the cracked tile release the lead technician started up his cleaning again and was saying something to me which again I asked him to turn the machine off because I couldn't hear him. He became irritated with my request and continued to speak, of which I could not understand. They finished the four areas in approximately 45 minutes and literally yelled up at me (I was cleaning walls and door jams upstairs) shouting they were finished. Once I paid, I asked both technicians that I wanted to give them some marketing feedback. I began to share with them that the online marketing pitch from Stanley Steemer states "we'll bring out the luster in your tile!" My first interaction with the technicians started off by their espousing that the grout won't come clean and that there will be darker areas coming through. I asked them that they need to let their marketing department know that my expectations were completely dismissed following this initial consultation. The lead technician interrupted me by saying that, "I'm not going to lie to you and tell you your floors will be like brand new! After I told you about the grout not coming clean, you could have told us to leave!" He was correct in that I could have told him to leave. I continued to dialogue with him and he interrupted again stating that he, "sells on average $200 worth of services per job" and he just walked away. My two points with this rant is that I simply wanted them to tell their marketing department to refine their online sales pitch to match what their technicians are relating to the customer. I also expect the technicians to be polite and respectful with the customer, especially when they are trying to provide professional advice. If anyone from the Marketing Department at Stanley Steemer reads this, please add in your promotional "bait" what your technicians are telling the customers when they show up at the front door. Because otherwise, you are following in the old sales approach of "bait and switch." PS- The floors don't have a luster. read more

I feel completely ripped off. I had to have the cleaners come back in my house and re do an area they said they worked really hard on. After 5 min it was clean. I walked the rest of my house and the floors looked like they hadn't been touched. The cleaners said it will look like that until it drys because it was a high traffic area. WARNING.......I was amazed by unprofessionalism one of the two employees that entered my home. They (two male employees, one with braids and the other heavy set) arrived knowing the service I expected to pay for, and they started trying to sell me a better cleaning service to my rug. That was fine. HOWEVER, when I chose not to go with the better cleaning service, the man with the braids appeared to catch an attitude. I attempted to lighten the mood by saying "I know you guys will do a great job cleaning my rug" and smiled. The male with the braids grugendly rolled my carpet up and said something along the lines of we'll try I guess. So because I didn't take the more expensive cleaning package that means Stanley Steemer will do a half ass service? That man came back with my carpet in less than 15 mins and slapped me with a bill of $106 dollars. The rug was still dirty underneath. He dropped the rug. I asked him "on a scale of 1-10 how dirty was the rug? The man with the braids responded in a tone that was not respectful or professional whatsoever "you should have had us take it in (for two weeks)". I was shocked, and almost speechless. He then exits my home, didn't say goodbye didn't say thanks for your business. Didn't say good day. It was just flat out rude and unprofessional. The heavy set guy stayed behind. He was kind, professional, and did his job well in terms of customer service. Over all the rug looked exactly the same as it did before they "cleaned it". The only diff is it is now damp. Stanley Steemer NEVER again. I wouldn't call this company to clean my welcome mat. Management teach your employees what customer service is. By the way my rug is 5X7. We have had decent experiences with them although I believe they're priced on the high end. But in the midst of the 2021 holiday Covid surge, the tech they sent out wasn't wearing a mask. He said he didn't have one. When I asked he said the company didn't require it. I sent him away without letting him in our house. I called the company and asked if they had a mask policy and the person who answered said he had to check. Why? He came back and said they did have a mask policy and he would report it and I would get a phone call. After I heard nothing for several hours I called corporate headquarters. They said it takes 24-48 hours to get a callback. I asked them if they were concerned about letting their tech roam in and out of people's houses in the midst of a pandemic in the meantime. No response. The issue finally got escalated and they said they would send me a $75 coupon for the next time. There won't be a next time. read more

Ugh. What a terrible company. I am very unhappy with the state that my home was left in after the carpet and upholstery cleaning this morning. The cleaning itself was marginal at best, but the crew tracked plants, dirt, rocks, and mulch all through my house - even on the carpet they had just cleaned. The chairs I had cleaned were all in rooms with hardwood floors. One of the machines they were using was leaking very badly and instead of cleaning up, they left huge puddles of water all over my hardwood floors. After spending almost $400, I had to call in late to work because I had to clean up after the carpet cleaners. When I called the local number to complain, my call was immediately re-routed to a customer service department who said a manager might get back to me in the next week. Stay away from these people. Review Update: The new crew arrived at my house and were actually within my window this time! However, the carpets are still not cleaned with dog hair still all along the base boards and it still stinks. This crew seemed a little more dedicated to the job and took almost an hour, and the man did tell us that we could call back if it still smelled after their treatment, but at this point, we really don't have time or patience to make yet another appointment, then not be able to walk on the carpets for another 24 hours. If 0 stars was an option I would give that. Stanley Steamers came to my house to clean a chair. They looked at the stains and said their cleaning would probably make it worse and they didn't think they could get it out, but they tried anyways. Naturally, their cleaning made the stain worse. They came out as part a warranty for the chair and when they called the warranty company they said there was an accumulation of stains on the chair, to which I disagree, and now the warranty company will not replace the part that Stanley Steamer made worse. I assumed if they made the stains worse that the warranty would cover it so that's why I did not stop them from trying. Now I am stuck disputing a claim with a warranty company all because Stanley Steamers couldn't do their job and the technician added to the mess by reporting additional stains that were barely noticeable to me (and I'm a pretty detail oriented clean person!). Also, while they were there one of the hoses was leaking water onto my living room rug. They pretended to clean it up, but I was left with a big water mess after they left. They also tried to sell me on taking that same rug to their factory store so they could do a deep clean for me. As if I would want to use their company again. read more

Mason & Alex (Truck 2817) did a thorough job on my two carpets. Although it was quick, I didn't feel they took any shortcuts; they just seem to know how to get things done efficiently. They willingly moved whatever furniture I asked. I went online this morning to get phone information and was thrilled to get pricing and schedule the service right away. Online I got a $35 discount (for services over $150.) This was a totally pleasant experience. I am thrilled to read they also clean ducts. I will be contacting them again soon for that. read more

Wow! Bait and switch from Stanley Steamer! Last week I scheduled Stanley Steamer for first thing Monday morning. They said they would call first, NOT! When I scheduled they asked for specific measurements because I have all area rugs. Great! I measured all of them and gave them exact sizes! The Customer service quote was $302 for 6 area rugs and the stairs. First thing Monday morning darling Dewey and his assistant showed up and after a tour of the rugs told us that 2 of the rugs were estimates, not quotes. He then told us the price would be $526! $224 more! 2 rugs are 80% more than 4 rugs and the stairs. Poor darling Dewey and his assistant. We said let's talk to your supervisor! Supervisor Justin tried to negate the impact of the incorrect quote and offered 10% discount on the up charge. REALLY? Plus he had a bad attitude! Not the old Stanley Steamer. We sent them away. After several phone calls, emails, and even a voice message to a manager, I still have yet to talk to anyone who can actually help me. They stopped responding to emails. Up sold us a duct cleaning service. Replaced most of the air vent covers upside down and several of them were screwed in too tight. Disabled the humidifier hooked up to the furnace without telling us. By the time we discovered it the humidifier it had burnt itself out. Customer service was not helpful in resolving this issue. I received a text that the technicians were hung up in traffic but on their way. Technicians had not arrived by 9:15am so I called customer service; after checking the C.S. Rep told me they'd arrive in 15-20 minutes; I asked to speak with a manager, who was about as obtuse as they come--no offer of a discount, I told him (Justin) I'd leave my reviews on social media. 9:45 still no technicians; finally they arrived at 9:50am. The technicians were good guys but repeatedly attempted to up-sell me on services. Last time I will use Stanley Steemer. 'Wow' experience this morning! The technicians arrived on time (8:30 in an 8:00 - 9:00 window) and were incredibly thorough! They helped clean around my baseboards, pre-treated a number of my dog's favorite sleeping areas and informed me of every action they were taking along the way.
