Scheduled them to come out and clean my dryer vent. So glad I did. They came early and were very professional and covered their shoes so my house didn't get dirty. They found a birds nest in my vent and cleaned it out. Very grateful! They also gave me a free estimate for an air duct cleaning. I definitely recommend them. Had an appointment scheduled three weeks prior to the carpet being cleaned, the day of they canceled on us. Our time was between 11-2 and they called at 11:20 to say that they could no longer come out today because of an "emergency." Could not and would not accommodate and squeeze us in for the weekend either even though we had scheduled far in advance. Called a different carpet company and they could get us same after we told them about our experience, came out the same day and did a great job. They misled us on both. I found upon my research that the majority of the advertised duct cleaning companies out there I had contacted offer a ridiculously low fee to get in the door; they'll quote super low prices they say include all your vents, etc. Then you find they only include the supply vents, and don't include return vents or your furnace, etc. (Stanley Steemer does ALL of the vents and includes the trunk system and furnace!) Anyway, once you've let in the other companies, the charges continue to rise until you're looking at over double the quote... so don't be fooled by the upfront "special pricing," the other guys quote you! Plus, you risk the job being performed in a sub-standard fashion. (One of the other companies we tried just showed up with a shop vac and an extra long hose! Yes, we sent them away) Another company pushed and pushed us to pay $179 for deodorizer telling us all the reasons we needed it. Then, when we agreed to add that on to our job, he pulled out a spray bottle and started to just squirt some of it into an uncleaned floor vent opening. I stopped him right before he squirted it, and asked if all he was going to do is spray a little into each vent, which he informed me that yes, but it will travel throughout my entire system once the system is turned on again. Did he think we were idiots! Of course, that was the last straw, so we politely asked them to leave without performing our job. I was so upset thinking we'll never find a good company to come clean our system thoroughly. I have asthma and allergies, and I need the duct system to be totally clean and debris free! The tile cleaning was really an over five star rating. The crew from the Beavercreek, OH office was professional and so hard working. I was extremely pleased with the service and excellent job they did. We did send a rug out to be cleaned by them. It did come back clean but we differ on the rug condition coming back. It came back with a ripple in the middle and in certain areas on the border the color was noticeably faded. Customer service was great though and we talked about where the rug had traffic areas which on one side could very well have changed the color. Then once cleaned, it was obviously more noticeable. Nevertheless they were kind about it and offered a resolution, a small refund. Which I appreciated. However I received no email or confirmation from their manager in Beavercreek for that refund nor have I received it. I am awaiting a reply from customer service. read more

As others have said, the problems with my service are just too numerous to mention. I spent nearly $2,000 to have 3 area rugs cleaned, my living room and hall carpet cleaned, and the couch cleaned. While I have no problems with the cleaning part, there rest was a nightmare. All the service men, and even the branch manager, could say is "it can't be done." This was AFTER I had paid for it to BE done. How could you "forget" to return the rugs then not be able to return the same day with them; and how could you reinstall a rug - UPSIDE DOWN? read more

We kept seeing commercials for Stanley Steemer and set up an appointment for dryer vent cleaning and an estimate on furnace air duct cleaning. They offered a $55 off if we did the air duct cleaning. My husband decided to have them do the furnace the same day. We did not receive the $55 discount and when I called they said the manager would need to call us back. He said they could not credit our card but would send a refund. After a month we called again and he said they would be processing it. We end up getting a $50 credit for any service. Really?!?! What do I need that for? The rating is for the poor customer service. Update: I sent an email to the address provided by the business owner over a week ago and have not had a response. GO ELSEWHERE! SEE PICTURE BELOW! I recently purchased a home and before I moved in I had my carpets cleaned by Stanley Steemer. I had my carpets cleaned on Saturday, August 12th. I decided to clean my carpets 11 days later with my own personal upright Hoover carpet cleaner because I noticed some excessive cat hair left by the previous homeowner while I was vacuuming. I figured the brushes of my carpet cleaner would be able to remove the hair rather than the suction of Stanley Steemer. I'm attaching a few pictures of the results of my cleaning. The carpets should not be this filthy after paying over $430 for a professional carpet cleaning service just 11 days earlier. This filthy water was in every section in every room of my house that Stanley Steemer evidently cleaned less than 2 weeks earlier. I called Stanely Steemer customer service and was told they could come out to clean the carpets again, but they should be done right the first time! I asked why my personal Hoover carpet cleaner was able to get this much filth out but their professional equipment had missed. I was told their equipment couldn't get down to the pad. They reassured me that my personal Hoover was not better than their industrial equipment, but could not tell me why I was able to get so much dirt out following their cleaning. I have been using Stanley Steemer since we bought new carpet for our condo in 2016. We have Shaw Pet Stain Resistant carpeting and padding. The fibers are designed to not absorb pet excrement and our pad is resin coated to not allow absorption there. Over the years, we feel the carpet looks worse and worse after the yearly (required to maintain warranty) cleanings are done. Stanley Steemer is the only company in this area that is approved by Shaw. First off, over the years, I've noticed that the carpet cleaning guys have gotten more high-pressure sales oriented. They used to ask if you wanted protectant or deodorizer and that was it. Yesterday, the guy asked me about additional service, then proceeded to tell me my carpet would smell like urine after the cleaning was complete. I asked him "why it would smell like urine?" "Well, you have a dog", he replied. I replied that the dog had never pottied on the carpet, so I would not need the additional service. After he completed the bedroom and living room, he said "you are really going to want the deodorizer. I can already smell the urine coming from your carpet." Really??? Did you just say that to me? There was absolutely NO urine smell-I am a nurse, and I know urine odor. I told him maybe my husband has taken up peeing on the carpet cuz I know my big dog has not. Big dog-big bladder. An accident would be SO obvious on the carpet. He had a confused look on his face. After he had initially asked me about the deodorizer and protectant, he went on to give me his "shpeel" about a cleaning plan! I informed him that I only get the carpet cleaned yearly because of the warranty. I hate preparing the house for carpet cleaning. He droned on about ALL the benefits, how I get the extra services free, insisted that the chemicals are EPA approved so that my dog will not be harmed, and 2 extra cleanings for the bargain price of $450. Really?? I want to give you that much of my money and he had not even cleaned the carpet!!!! Needless to say-it did not look good when he was done. Not sure if it was his technique or the age of our carpet. I will be sure to use a company that has rave reviews next time. I paid to have my carpets cleaned up stairs. They did an okay job. There were a few spots that were not taken out completely. The main guy walked me through why though. I struggled with the communication piece. The second guy (who was younger and less experienced) came to ask me if I wanted the odor spray added. I asked the question will my carpets smell after if I don't get it. I was given no direct answer. Just most people get it. I requested that he ask his partner up stairs to get a better answer. He came back and told me his partner had a stuffy nose. So I decided to add it. Not wanting my house to possibly smell. When paying with the main guy I asked him personally. He told me a detailed explanation. Basically saying that it's important with urine stains. Which I didn't have. The techs were nice enough, but we paid extra for the odor elimnation and carpet protector in my daughter's bedroom. It did not remove the smells at all. They sent another tech the following day, but the smell is still there. I thought maybe the odor was trapped in the carpet pad, but I can rub my hand lightly on the carpet and my hand will have a very strong odor on it. read more

We have used Stanley Steamer off and on for a number of years. Sometimes the work is good, and sometimes it is just OK. We recently used the Dublin Ohio location to clean our carpet, and also our grout in our hallway and half bath. Unbeknownst to us, the person who cleaned our grout in the half bath gouged our inside door frame in several areas, all in close range. He did not telll us he did that and when we saw it (a day later), we immediately called the company about it. Someone eventually came out (which in and of itself was a slew of comical errors on their part) and took pictures. Several days later, a manager called and said the technician denied doing the damage. The manager also advised that it is up to the customer to notice the damage and report it at the time of the work done. My husband, who has mobility problems, looked in at the bathroom floor at the grout and said it looked good. He did not enter the bathroom and had no reason to do so. The next day he did enter and saw the damage and let me know. I then entered the bathroom, saw the damage, and immediately started the complaint process. The manager eventually said that it was a he/she said issue, advised that the technician said he did not do the damage, and advised they were not responsible for the damage. They are responsible for the damage, but they are, in effect, insinuating that we did the damage. We did not, the technician did the damage and consequently, we advise anyone thinking about using this company, think again! We will never used Stanley Steemer again. read more

We needed duct cleaning. We didn't get it. As we missed doing it during the pandemic we knew it would be a bigger job than usual. Their estimator came out and gave us a quote. When their team came out, they did not have the right equipment. They opened one vent and said they couldn't do the job. They blamed the estimator for their lack of preparation and left. Nice guys, but in our view if you are in the cleaning business you need to be ready to clean. read more

Duct Cleaning. Yesterday we paid 600 dollars for duct cleaning. The team that showed up seemed not to have been trained. We heard them in the basement arguing about appropriate procedures. Before they left they told us that could not remove the cold air return duct in the family room (next to the laundry room) but they said it was okay because they cleaned it from the basement. This was the duct that had been inspected by the person estimating the job. After they left, we decided to check. It took a cheap screw driver and one minute to remove the vent cover and discover that the vent was clogged with lint and dust. We called immediately and were told a manager would get back to us. This morning we called again and were informed that the managers are very busy and would probably get back us to in 3 days. This is disgusting. Our advice is to use another company. read more

I have a large, old dog and she had an accident (or five) in my living room. I did my best to clean the mess but I booked a 2-room cleaning online with Stanley Steemer and they performed close to a miracle. Between their deodorizing pre-treatment, expert cleaning and after-cleaning deodorizer ... the carpet looked and more importantly, smelled brand new. I realize it's tough to get all of the ... umm... "residue" from the padding beneath - but I think the best results possible were achieved. I book online and schedule an appointment within a 2 to 4 hour window. I am texted when the team is on their way (very nice touch) and the 2-person team arrives and only needs access to some fresh water (just allow them use of your bathtub faucet) and they handle everything else. I highly recommend their products, too - especially the carpet spot cleaner. I was advised to spray a cloth and use it to clean the stain for best results, which does worth very well. Back to the professional cleaning. They work very quickly. My specific need does not require any furniture to be moved - I'm seeking carpet cleaning from the stain and foot traffic so the appointment is fast. I clear the area of any small chairs or tables which seems to work well, but they have always asked what I wish to be moved. I've had this service performed twice in the past 4 months because I have a very bad dog (or I'm a very bad dog owner who allowed her to have another accident) - I cannot say enough good things about the service and the teams who have visited me thus far. The pricing is what I would expect - but I scored an online deal with my second visit and that dropped my total bill to under $150, even purchasing a bottle of their amazing cleanser. My goal is to book them once a year for maintenance / annual cleaning and make sure our pets don't force more frequency but at least there is a good solution available. read more

After a routine carpet cleaning my wife noticed water in our basement. Stanley Steamer admitted fault. Brought equipment to clean up the mess, which of course was run on my electric. I simply asked to have the $305 service comped, and they refuse. Mind you it is still unknown if there in damage in between the floor, under my hardwood, under my vanity. I don't think it is too much to ask. I had to come home from work for multiple hour, and the contractor that is working in my basement had to deal with finding the path of the leak. After going with another company and getting a cancellation call an hour into my appointment window, I reached out to Stanley Steemer as I was in a time crunch to get my floors cleaned and ducts cleaned before I moved into my house. Thankfully I was able to get someone over for an estimate right away for the duct cleaning and I was able to get the carpet cleaning estimate over the phone. The in-person estimate process was easy enough, we walked through and he counted the number of ducts to be cleaned and quoted me the price. I also was thankfully able to get the duct cleaning and carpet cleaning done on the same day (morning and afternoon) from a scheduling perspective. In the morning, the duct cleaning team (team of 2) came over on time and were very professional and nice. I showed them where the utility room was and they got right to work. Yes they tried to sell me an upgraded UV system, but it did not diminish the service I received. Once they were done they walked me through the house and explained to me a lot of what they found in the system. They cleaned up the mess that was created and the price I was quoted was the price I paid. In the afternoon, I met the team that was doing the floor cleaning (team of 2) who also came on time and were professional and nice as well. I walked them around the whole house, and they did sell additional services, one which I did opt for (yes it made sense) and one that I did not. He gave me a quote which was inline to what was estimated over the phone when I scheduled. The team was extremely efficient and when they were finished we walked through and the floors were wonderfully done. There were some varnish stains which they were unable to remove completely but I could see they had lightened up a fair bit (downside to having a house with super light carpeting). I scheduled a duct cleaning service after having a team come out to do an estimate. On the day of the scheduled service, I received a text that the technician was on the way. After waiting 2 hours, I called customer service who got in touch with dispatch. The team could not be located so they would send another team and was told they would arrive in 30 to 45 minutes. I waited 90 minutes with no team arriving and no call. I called to cancel the service and will look elsewhere for duct cleaning service. read more

Inexperienced technician over saturated my carpet and it now has ripples that it never had before. A competitor cleaned the carpet 2 years ago and did not leave ripples. Their website says to call if your carpet ripples. I called. They sent a technician out who thought he was there to recelas the carpet. He called the dispatcher and gave the phone to me. The dispatcher was rude and basically said, 'what do you allant me to do about it?' I asked to speak to a manager. They said a manager would come to the house--10 days later with a five hour window--even though the manager was only supposed to look at it and tell me my options. The manager came on the back end of the window--of course. He said there was nothing he or the company could do. He told me to call a carpet retailer/stretching company. He said they are 'short staffed' and in essence, some of the newer technicians don't know what they're doing and so may oversaturate the carpet. He agreed that the blurb on the website instructing customers to call right away if there were ripples was inaccurate--because there is nothing they can do about remediating the damage their people cause--so calling them wastes his, and the customer's time. He wasn't rude like the dispatcher, but now I have to pay an additional contractor to fix what they ruined. Would not use again. read more

The person I talked to on the phone assured me technicians would move furniture. Only one technician came, and my 80 year old husband had to help him move some items or he was going to clean around them. He also charged us $40 over the quoted price. When he left, the carpets were streaked and spotted. I wanted my carpet professionally cleaned. Instead, I had to get out my Hoover carpet cleaner and redo the job. My carpet was cleaned, deodorize, and protection. The spot came back up. They are only dirt spots from muddy paws. So they send someone out and he was supposed to clean it again. I moved everything for nothing! He just put spot remover on the places and said your good to go. They came back within the next day. I haven't heard anything from them. read more

I have a mattress that I needed cleaned and deodorized. Since they will not make a house call for less than $99, I had to add a few additional treatments which was fine because we really needed the smell out. When the guy came, he was only here for about 15 minutes total. He said, "most people will waste your time, but they're just killing time. This is all that needs to be done and you'll be set." So we let it sit for over 24 hours as instructed and the mattress still reeked. We called back to the hotline and thankfully they said they would do it again with the deodorizer free of charge. When the second guy came, he took his time. And immediately after the smell was gone, but after the 24 hours, the smell was still there. When we put blankets or sheets on this mattress, they reek of the smell. Now, it's not their fault that my mattress smells. But your service claims that it can rid of these smells. And they promoted their deodorizer (extra charge) because it would get deep into the fabric and remove the smell. But it didn't. For a company that prides its whole business on cleaning stains and deodorizing, they didn't do a very good job. Hopefully we can figure out a place that can. read more

I contacted Stanley Steemer to clean my furnace ducts. After looking in the furnace plenum where the ductwork sprouts out, the techs said they couldn't clean the ducts until they "encapsulated" the mold in my furnace plenum, after which they could install a UV light to mitigate mold buildup. Total cost $1275: $175 for the encapsulation, $700 for the UV light and $400 to clean the ducts. I cancelled the appointment and called a mold remediation company. It turns out I had no mold in the plenum, UV lights don't mitigate mold buildup and the ducts didn't need cleaning. Total savings: $1275. It's been a week since I cancelled the duct cleaning and I still haven't heard from Stanley Steemer. You'd think they would be curious. read more

Stanley Steamer cleans ducts. They do a pretty damn good job. You should've seen the crap of dust that they removed from our furnace! They take before and after pictures, for proof. I did question the fact that the furnace filter was just changed a couple of weeks ago, and they changed it today, it today, infact, it was totally full of a ridiculous amount of dust. They swore they changed the filter before they did the duct cleaning, which makes no sense to me. Changing the furnace filter after, I'd understand. They charge $300.00 for the service, and had to be reminded to turn the furnace back on. They also forgot to move a couple of large pieces of furniture that they moved, inorder to do the duct cleaning. They also had to make two tiny holes into the furnace, but they patched it up. I was kind of surprised that they left the large furniture for me to move back into place, after they moved it. Probably would've gotten 5 stars, and for the fact that I'm certain they changed the furnace filter after the duct cleaning...well, just tell me, and that's fine, ya know? Cause there's absolutely no way a furnace filter can get that dirty in 2 weeks time, full of dust so thick. The job, itself, was fine, if a bit annoying. But I don't buy the fact about the furnace filter. Stanley Steamer, for the Kansas City residents, runs out of Olathe, but I can't find an address, so had to use their head quarters. 2 days after: Our air smells like my room air purifier from Sharp Electronics. Changed my rating to 4 stars. I've not had furnace air this fresh, ever. read more

I had all of the carpets cleaned before I moved into a new home. The previous owner had pets, so there were several areas with stains. The technician did an excellent job and the carpets look good. I was not at the residence, so the technician called after completing a walk-through of the house to go over price, made some recommendations about additional services, and reviewed problem areas. He spoke at a good pace and explained everything so that I could easily understand. I would definitely hire him again. My only complaint is that there was a miscommunication about how to get into the house since no one was home. The female who called me was extremely rude.
