This company is unprofessional with poor customer service. They did not specify a time or even provide me with a window to be prepared for the tech to arrive. Thursday rolls around, and I get a call while at work. They are telling me a tech is available now and I can either take it or leave it. I told them that I couldn't just drop everything at work an be at my house is 10 mins. However, after calling them back, I was able to negotiate a time. After I take time off of work to be at my house, I called them to make sure that a tech was on their way. The guy on the phone basically told me that I'll have to wait until their "big commercial customer accounts" are taken care of first. And that I was out of luck. I booked the company through ABC home warranty and let him know that I was promised priority placement if I went through a company contracted with ABC. He basically told me to go find another company. And that's what I did. I made sure to call ABC and tell them about how unprofessional Environmental Air is. This company doesn't care about small individual clients. All they care about is securing big fat corporate accounts. I will never use them again.

We don't plan on staying in this house long so I just wanted to get it recharged and out the door. My good contractor friend explained to me that many systems leak slowly and that I shouldn't really be concerned with any type of expensive leak test especially if it's still cooling some and if it was holding pressure. I called Starners on a Monday and they got to us on Wednesday. They were upfront with their pricing, friendly, and fast. I really liked the old guy they sent. He checked my system at having 31psi and it needed to be around 60 which required about 2lbs of the old style refrigerant R-22 which is more expensive. Total cost for the out call and refrigerant was about $165. I was very pleased with their service and would use them again with any of my HVAC needs.

I really wanted to like this company. However when they replaced my hot water tank several months…read moreago, unbeknownst to me, to make the new, larger unit fit, the tech shortened my washer drain. In doing so, the washer drain isn't tall enough anymore to properly drain, and there is a deeply curved 'trap', (that wasn't there before), that causes the water to rush back up and out of the drain. I had asked the tech at the time about all the 'left over' PVC pipe pieces, but he'd assured me it was from the old tank- when in fact it was actually my working washer drain that he'd removed and replaced with a shorter pipe, with a very curved 'trap'. He did this in order to make the new tank easier to install, he failed to reassemble the drain properly after removing it to install the tank. The back of the washer/drain/hoses/etc. are all in a separate room than the front of the washer. It's accessed clear on the other side of the house through a tiny door next to the fridge in the kitchen. I've went in there once to change my furnace filter months ago. I noticed the concrete floor was a bit 'damp', so I put a damp-rid in the room and thought nothing more about it- bottom line, my washer has been draining into this small utility room and flooding for months! There is actually mold on one of the wall studs now! I'd noticed my new flooring warping near the furnace intake vent, but couldn't understand why. It's the only place in the house that my new flooring is warped, chipping. I know now it's from the water leaking under the furnace in the utility room and seeping under the laminate flooring! Am I stupid for not realizing this sooner- yes, I admit I am. Is Discount Drains responsible for their tech tampering with, and ruining my washer drain- yes, yes they are! They are also responsible for the mold that occurred and the small area of warped flooring as a result of their mistake. I have contacted them, and I was told they are sending someone out to, "dispute the mold." Not a very courteous response at all! If they repair/replace the washer drain so it functions properly as it did before they ruined it, and address the mold they caused as well as replacing the affected floor boards, I will remove this post, however if they refuse to repair the washer drain that their tech ruined, and clean/repair the mold, replace flooring, I will have no choice but to litigate for damages and will continue to strongly suggest not doing business with this company! I trusted them to do the job right, and instead they caused damage to my home with their incompetence! I'm super disappointed both in their workmanship and response to my issue!

We also hired them to run a new water line to put an outdoor hose in another location of our house. While it may seem odd to have a FaceTime quote, the process isn't that much different than someone who comes to your house and does a surface level check only to find out when they begin the work that things are more complicated than they seem. The good news about the process is that it helps expedite the process so our jobs were completed much more quickly than quotes from other companies (I.e. by the time the person schedules to come look, prepare a quote, and then schedule the project installation much more time has passed). Everyone we worked with was friendly, efficient, and professional. The bonus for us is that our second project was actually cheaper than they quoted because they found a much easier solution when they got behind the wall to see what had been covered up by previous owners. I would absolutely hire them in the future.
