This morning, while traveling eastbound on 495, I experienced extremely concerning behavior from one of your company vehicles (pictured below). The driver aggressively followed me for nearly five exits at speeds exceeding 70 miles per hour. The vehicle was following so closely that another car could not have safely fit between us--clearly tailgating in a highly dangerous manner. After that, he passed me, drove alongside my vehicle for over a mile, and continued to stare me down in an intimidating way. I had the most disappointing experience with Stanley Steemer! I called them to clean my couches, expecting a professional job. Instead, my couches looked practically untouched, and they didn't get any water marks out! It was like they barely put any effort into it at all. After seeing their lack of results, I used my Ryobi handheld cleaner with some Resolve, and the difference was night and day. The Ryobi pulled out brown water from my couches, along with all the dirt and stains Stanley Steemer left behind. My couches now look brand new--something the "professionals" should have done in the first place. From the photos I included, you can't tell me they actually did anything!! We had Vinny and Ricky from SS come out to clean the carpets in our house. Had I not broken my steam cleaner over the winter months we would never had called SS to clean our carpets at all but I digress fast forward to now....these carpets were dirty and once you move your furniture you find out you are a horrible house cleaner. Vinny and Ricky To the Rescue !!!!! They came and cleaned the stairs, two bedrooms, hall and the living room and the carpet looked absolutely amazing and brand new. Vinny gave me some great tips about stain and spot removal and which of the commercial products to avoid which were pretty much all of them. Vinny could tell immediately what I had been using to clean the carpets and what products I had been using to treat stains based on the suds that's were being produced by the steamer. Wow. Considering the extremely reasonable price for the service I really thought they would come in and just run as fast as lightning through the cleaning process. I was very wrong. When done he charged me $800. He said the $460 was $460 "extra" but that was not made clear. It also seems crazy for the price to go up by over $400 because I had an area rug and not carpet. Just had my family room carpet cleaned and I am very pleased! Unfortunately due to doggie accidents, the carpet was yuck and the room smelled of pee! Plus it is a very light off white color carpet so just from general foot traffic it just looked dirty. Stanley Steemer used an enzyme to neutralize the urine smell and combined with the steam cleaning, the carpet looks like new and smells great! Honestly, this is a 20 year old Berber carpet and it looks brand new. The technicians were friendly and knowledgeable too. It cost $99 for the steam cleaning and shield, an extra $40 for the odor remover, and I purchased a bottle of spot remover for $20. I would recommend Stanley Steemer! read more

First, I was very clear when making the appointment that the building that we reside in, like almost every NYC building, requires a special insurance certificate, including building management contact, etc. They showed with no certificate, and claimed there was no mention in "the notes". I pleaded with our building super to allow them in to work anyway. Clearly they are too stupid, or lazy, or both, to care. The appointment window was 10-1pm. They showed at 1:15. There was no call, text or email letting us know they would be late. The actual service was not good. The shower stall we had them clean barely looks different, including large mold marks in the corners. Same for the sofa. Just an update on my review from a few months ago. The history is that the Stanley Steemer franchise in Deer Park, NY cleaned my upholstered furniture some time back. Their cleaning process turned part of the furniture blue and they were unable to remove the stains. Then they basically ignored my repeated requests for repairs. (I had asked them to take some extra fabric and hire an upholsterer to replace the damaged areas). Their national organization stepped in and asked them to do the right thing and make repairs. Since then, they have not only ignored me, but also their national franchise organization. Further, the national office is powerless to do anything, and can't or won't take any action themselves. I would recommend staying far away from this company. Once they have your payment, they provide zero service - with a healthy dose of bad attitude. read more

I am only giving this review one star because I have a complaint about the staff at this Stanley Steemer location. Both times I have used their services I have been nothing but pleased with the end results. The workers themselves are great and the service is excellent. However, the staffers at the Deer Park, Long Island office need some serious lessons in customer service. Specifically, a man I spoke with recently named Mike (no clue if he's a manager). I called about a coupon that I had for a service, and without trying to be nice or work something out with me -- or even explain that the issue with the coupon was that it was for a different zone -- he rudely, flat-out told me that they "will not honor the coupon." That is a terrible way to speak to a customer. At least explain why it wasn't possible! Shame on you, Mike. You should not be working in a person-to-person service if this is the way you talk to people. read more

I am disappointed with the management of this location. I am originally from California and recently moved to NY. it amazes me how rude and awful an owner can be to their own customers. All I wanted was some more info on how this location goes about things when it comes to cleaning tile and air ducts. When I finally was able to speak with Edward, he was very rude and condescending. As soon as I spoke with him, he sounded like it was a burden to talk to me for giving me basic info. Rubin and Victor were the two professionals who both cleaned the wall to wall carpeting in my great room, den and bedroom. They also cleaned the tile floors in both the bathrooms and kitchen. Stanley Steamer sucks. Like other reviewer, they told me that the workers would move the furniture. They said that they would move it as a courtesy but that they are not supposed to - and that the customer service reps usually tell customers that the workers will move furniture on the phone, just to book you as a client. What?!? Also - I have a light colored carpet in my bedroom and one of the workers pretended not to hear me when I asked him to cover the bottoms of his grimy worker boots as he pushed the steamer across the floors. The only reason that that I am giving 1 star is because one (not both) of the workers was courteous. My Aunt needed her tile ceramic floor/grout cleaned so I called Stanley Steemer and I spoke to a very pleasant and professional person on the phone to get a quote or have someone come to give a quote being most of her Condo is tile ceramic flooring and they might actually need to see it-He set up the free estimate date and time to get the ball rolling-They sent over Ralph and his partner Mike for the estimate- Ralph measured the flooring to get the precise footage that needed to be cleaned giving me options of the cost of what my Aunt actually wanted done-I have to say Ralph explained every detail about the whole job so if I had any questions he could answer them right on the spot to what the cost would be and what actually would be done-She decided to go with the Color seal which after cleaning the tiles would bring the grout up to its original color of white-Made the appt to have it done and Ralph and Ricky came to do the work-I have to say they both are the best-they worked together hand and hand making the job flow so smoothly-Ralph was putting the color seal in the grout after it was cleaned and I have to say it is the hardest job ever and so arduous to do all the tile my Aunt had in her Condo-I give major Kudos to him because he did every single line and square beautifully-my Aunts floor looks brand new considering they were more than 30 years old-I highly recommend this company and Ralph and Ricky to do your job if you can get them they are awesome!! read more

So I saw the ad for $99 and thought with a new baby we could benefit from a professional cleaning. I called and was quickly offered a next day appointment (should have been the first red flag) I told the customer service agent that I would like 1 bedroom, living room and a set of stairs. She quoted me the price of 150.00 and told me not to move furniture they will do it. The next day two gentlemen arrived one was obviously a supervisor the other a worker bee. The supervisor couldn't be bothered to do anything but stand and watch I felt horrible for the gentlemen actually doing the work. They didn't bother moving furniture and were in an out in under an hour. In which I was handed a new bill and was told I now owed $220. To my surprise I asked why so much the difference and the supervisor blamed customer service for the bad quote. I live in a very tiny apartment and cant believe that this is what they charged, what happen to the $99 deal. At this point I did not tip them, I felt bad for the gentlemen who did all the work he was very nice and friendly. As soon as they left I called customer service in which they told me that a quote is never a guarantee and they charged me $5 per stair.. our you kidding.
