I had a crazy situation and if I could, I would give Stanley Steemer Cordova 10 stars! This absolute mess happened during the Super Bowl. A full bucket of water tipped over and drenched my carpet. While it was clean water, we're talking completely soaked. Then, because when it rains it pours, my sister's teacup dog had an accident in another room. I called Stanley Steemer figuring I'd just leave a message (it was the Super Bowl, after all), but they actually picked up! They were even ready to come right then, but I told them to wait until the next day since I didn't want to ruin their game day. The next day, Jonathan showed up and OMG, you could tell this wasn't his first day on the job, so I asked. He's been with Stanley Steemer for 11 years (as of February 2025), and it really shows. He took one look at the water damage and got straight to work. No fuss, just pure efficiency. He pulled out this heavy-duty equipment and went to town on both the flood zone and the pet accident. Used different techniques for each problem - serious water extraction for the spill and some special cleaning process for the pet mess. By the time he was done, you wouldn't believe anything had happened to the carpet. What really impressed me was how he walked me through everything he was doing. Not in a condescending way, but just keeping me in the loop. He showed me how the machines work, explained why he was using certain cleaning solutions, and made sure I knew how to handle similar issues in the future (though hopefully I won't need to). Here's something worth mentioning - Stanley Steemer always has some kind of special running. Because the price was so reasonable, I added a third room, and it was reasonable especially considering the quality of work you get. The fact that they handle emergencies, even during major sporting events, really sets them apart. If you're in the Memphis/Cordova area and need your carpets sorted out, definitely go with Stanley Steemer and ASK FOR JONATHAN. After seeing him tackle my disasters, I'm convinced there's no carpet emergency he can't handle. Seriously, the guy turned what could have been a total nightmare into a surprisingly smooth experience. Stanley Steamer used to be an honorable company, not anymore. I got a quote for $173.00. When the technicians arrived they did their funny measuring and the price shot up to $501.00. Evidently they were able to show up at my house an hour early because their last customers were not going to stand for getting ripped off either. Scam! Fraud Alert! I ordered specific services online and received a quote. I called and confirmed the services and also let them know I would not be home but people would be working at my home and they could get access. The people working in my home did NOT speak English. The associate ADDED additional rooms/spaces and charged me $400 MORE than my quote. They had someone sign who was working and didn't speak English. Wish I'd seen these reviews before I booked our cleaning. Yesterday the tech called about our 1-4pm appointment. Advised he would need balcony access or we'd have to reschedule for "the portable unit," which he said there was only one. So having no balcony, and on the 5th floor of a high-rise, we rescheduled with the call center for today. Multiple times it was confirmed this is a 5th floor condo unit. The tech called today and advised, there's a $50 per floor charge that he was sorry he didn't remember to tell us yesterday. You have to be kidding me! He said he'd be able to knock off the 1st floor $50, but it would be an additional $200 on top or our original quote. CS didn't mention this either. Needless to say, we canceled the service. I'm half tempted to contact the BBB on these people. Be aware, and beware! read more

I absolutely do NOT recommend this company. I have laminate floors and the website gave an estimate of $317. Technicians arrive 30 minutes before the arrival window ends and tells me that the floors need to be stripped and that's $175 per area. So my $317 went to well over $800/$900 and that did NOT include the bathrooms or laundry room. Classic Bait and Switch on services offered. Their website doesn't mention a word about possible additional fees for anything let alone stripping the floors!!! The only answer I got was from the tech supervisor over the phone of "What he wants an explanation of the additional cost because you have to do it 3 times?" Absolutely disgraceful and UNSAT! BBB will be getting a complaint from me for sure! read more

Stanley Steemer came out to clean a sofa and chair with ottoman. First thing out of the techs mouth was "There is a minimum of $150...I don't know why you were quoted $140." I told him if it was a problem we could cancel at which time he said "No...I'll honor what you were quoted" Long story short....all he did was spray the furniture to make it wet and even as he was packing up to leave I reminded him that he did NOT clean the ottoman. His response was "MY BAD". He came back in and wet that too. I have date stamped videos of how dirty they were when they dried and videos of me using my small upholstery Rug Doctor to actually clean the furniture. I called to report this and was told a manager would call me within 3 days.....no one has called. NEVER AGAIN! Most unprofessIonal experience ever! And to top it off, the body odor from this tech was still in the house after he left! Reporting to the BBB...along with the hundreds of other complaints that read the same. read more

I tried to purchase $63 in spot and order remover today. The products really work but they will no longer deliver these products. I have them come once a year to clean the rugs and they did an ok job. I was going to have them come again in February to clean but not now. If they won't deliver $63 in product when they are in my area then they obviously don't need my business. When they cleaned the rugs, They did not move my living room furniture. I had to move the 2 couches and coffee table while 2 young guys stood there looking at me. I am 57 and the 20 year olds just watched. Nor did they put the furniture back. I did. I have been using Stanley Steemer for 5 years now. I have them clean my carpets once or twice a year and also use them to clean our air ducts every few years. They have always been professional and friendly and given me a fair price. Today, however, Chris Williamson of Stanley Steemer, went above and beyond when he noticed my fan was making horrible noise and I was afraid it was broken. He was done cleaning carpet, and kneeled down in the damp floor to take a few minutes to fix the fan!!! Well done, Chris! I am renovating a home that we previously had renters in. Replaced all floors except the tile in the hearth & kitchen. It seems the renters had several dogs they kept in that area and the urine smell had seeped into the grout. The two young men that came out were very professional, courteous & knowledgable. I was very impressed that they tested two areas to see which one would work better. They cleaned the tile and grout and sealed it and I'm happy to say I don't have to replace the tile now!! And the bonus is, the floors are visibly so much cleaner. I was only concerned with getting the odor out. Great job Stanley Steemer.....thank you! read more

It's the old bait and switch from this group. We were given a quote to clean our upstairs carpet. They charged nearly twice the amount quoted as they added separate charges for the landing area upstairs (we were charged for an entire room for this small area) plus charged for a hallway for the part of the landing in between one room and a bathroom) and charged for a very small walk in closet in one of the bedrooms. Also, the cleaning did not include deodorizing the carpet - this was an extra charge too. In all, I regret using them as they were not cheaper than the better vendor we had gotten a quote from due to the hidden costs. On July 17, 2018 I was scheduled to have my hardwood floors and carpet cleaned by Stanley Steamer-Memphis, TN. Upon arrival, the senior technician, Mike, did a test on my hardwoods to determine if any wax had been applied. Based on the other reviews, I was very skeptical that I too was about to receive an upcharge pitch. However, that was NOT the case, he explained that my hardwoods were actually in really good shape and that I would not see much difference after his service! My carpets were cleaned and they did an excellent job! Both Mike and Gavin provided the best customer service I have had since living in the Memphis area! They were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and honest. I learned quite a bit from them on how to properly care for my floors. I HIGHLY recommend that if using Stanley Steamer in Memphis, that you request this dynamic duo for your service...you will not be disappointed. On Saturday April 29th, Stanley Steamer arrived at my home to clean my tile floors. After looking at my floor he insisted that in his professional opinion the floors had been waxed. After being told that there was no wax, they refused to start the cleaning without calling someone to strip them first. To me this appears to be a scam to get customers to purchase more services. He was very disrespectful and unprofessional. After this encounter, I called another company, he came quickly after SS left, booked my appointment for Tuesday. I had Stanley Steemer come out to clean a sofa and love seat that are only a few months old but had some color from jeans rubbed off on them. The two gentlemen came out ahead of schedule which was great and they asked me what my concerns were. I showed them the stains from the jeans and asked if they would come out, the Stanley Steemer guys said the stains would come out. When they were done cleaning I looked at the couches and they looked EXACTLY the same, when I told them they looked the same the guy said "it's because they are wet" . Then I showed him that the under side of the cushion looked completely different even though it was wet too. I also showed him the before pictures I had taken and that the furniture still looked exactly the same, no dirt or stains had been removed. At that point he said "well those are stains from jeans and from sitting on the couches, those don't go away". What did they think I wanted them to come for if it wasn't to clean the stains off the furniture. I'm upset because I spent $164 on a "cleaning" that just gets the couches wet but is not supposed to remove any stains and kept my furniture looking exactly the same as before they "cleaned" it. I feel bad leaving a one star review because the guys were friendly and well mannered despite lying before the cleaning and telling me the jean stains and other dirt on the couches would go away however, I don't want others to make the same mistake that I did. read more

I was very disappointed in the job done with my recent carpet cleaning, Tuesday, July 14. My carpet is old, and is NOT a good color; was already in my residence which I purchased residence. The downstairs master bed room, which was the main reason for calling, didn't look much better when they finished than when they got there. Granted it was soiled, but I had gotten bad stains out with my own machine, so shows can be removed, and after going over, looked virtually no different. Upstairs was ok. Stairs, didn't look much better either. Unless you have carpet that is in fairly good shape, don't expect much from this cleaning. Sure not worth $150, and only took them less than an hour. The crew were very polite so no problems there. Just the finished job. Next time, will try another company for sure. Also, now that I have looked for a place to review on their website, and found none, maybe that should have been a hint to look elsewhere. read more

I have used Stanley Steemer for many years, for everything from cleaning tile to sealing grout, cleaning carpet and area rugs, and even for water extraction. We are in a new home but when the time comes we will use them for duct cleaning. They are professional, courteous, and do excellent work. Usually I am very happy with this service; however, this time I was not. They did not move my couch and loveseat like they always have. When they were done cleaning, the carpet was still VERY wet. They cleaned on Friday morning and by Sunday it was STILL damp! That has never happened before. I have a tiny hallway and they didn't even ask if I wanted it cleaned so now there is a perfect line between the hall and living room...RUDE! The carpet barely even looks any cleaner too.
