Used them many times....but NEVER again I used them several times. The last cleaning was done in a whirlwind of activity and the end result was when they left, my pristine wood floors were damaged. They sent two different representatives out to confirm that there was damage (a very obvious scratch front and center of the front door). After 10 months of going back and forth with an insurance adjuster that was holding a claim for my damage, they concluded that "the workers didn't cause the damage because they said they didn't" I know it wasn't intentional but in the haste of pushing furniture and equipment across a wood floor to do their work my house was damaged. If you are even thinking of using them I would suggest recording their every move while they are in your house. Without it you will have no recourse for damages. They were nice workers but they absolutely did damage my floors. The customer is not always right...unless you have proof. i used them about 3 times a year for a couple of hundred dollars. Had they made an effort to pay for the repair I could consider them. But not now. I prefer a company with ethics. read more

I must say I have never had anyone come clean my carpet ever. My husband usually does it with our shampooer but I am so glad I called Stanley Steemer. Shawn and Stephen were very thorough. They did a fantastic job on our carpet, and stairs. They left the carpets smelling so clean it looks like new. They also cleaned our love seat and did an impeccable job, my sofa is microfiber material and I thought it would be damaged with the cleaners but it looks awesome and smells wonderful. They are very knowledgeable in what they do. I will call them back to do my tile. They were very nice, and not pushy on the sales. Scheduled a job to have some upholstery done. We were told the crew would be out between 8am-1pm. My wife finally called at about 3 because no crew had shown up. She was told that a crew had come to the house but no one answered. I never left the house...in fact I rescheduled multiple appointments I had that day to be there. I used to work in this industry, in fact I worked for 3 years for a franchise of this company(Austin is owned by the corporate organization). I understand the necessary flexibility of arrival windows. I was here...then, later in the same phone call, my wife was told that Austin wasn't even doing residential work for the next 3 days due to the recent ice storm. Which I would have been completely understanding of had we been told. This after being lied to. I'm a huge believer in the equipment, process and concept of Stanley Steemer, but the customer service is sorely lacking. I've scheduled with a locally owned company, and I hope I can post a great review of them tomorrow when they're finished. read more

I'm dropping these guys just a bit this time as I wasn't quite as impressed, though I will still use them again. I felt like the sales guys kept trying to sell us more and more. I understand that's part of their job and how they make money...it's just not not my fav thing to deal with. Decided to use these guys, and I'll admit, there was a coupon in the AAS which helped, but I'm glad I did. They showed up within the required time, were extremely friendly (I can't remember the guy who was the lead crew member, but he was from Costa Rica). They effectively and efficiently cleaned my upstairs (2 br's, 1 office and a game room), didn't take long and it looked great. Noticed an area i forgot to point out, which was at the edge of a sofa and he re-fired up the machine and got at that stain as well. Thumbs up - very professional, affordable and friendly. read more

I have to say the guys that came were very nice and friendly. I had them come and clean my tile and grout in my kitchen and small bath. They cleaned it and then sealed it before they came and asked me to look it over. I was able to kneel down and scrub the grout with my fingers and still see dirt/stains come up. They did stay over and reclean it. When they left and after it dried it looked splotchy. Felt like I could have went to Home Depot and bought their Tile Lab products and done as good as or better of a job and saved myself $380. Will not do it again. read more

When Shawn and Stephan first arrived I walked them through the rooms I wanted cleaned and explained it was not necessary to do under ALL of my furniture but would like under light tables and chairs etc.,to be cleaned. I then took my leave and let them go at it. About 30-35mins. later I went to check on their progress and the living room looked absolutely great. They had also cleaned the workout room, in that time and it was considerably better, but I felt, not as clean as it could be, My little dog made that her room to go potty if she's in the house alone too long. So I was hoping for a really good cleaning in that room. Pleased with the living room, I once again try to take my leave, only to be stopped by Stephan, (Shawn continued cleaning the others rooms and baths at this time) who just happened to have in his hand a cleaner that should make my grout look like new. Feeling uneasy about how much I was spending already to have the carpet cleaned I say No to my kitchen grout but agree to have him do my entryway for a low $20. No sooner had I said Yes to that they tell me my love seat really needed cleaning. Again I explain, " I have spent too much already". so they give me a deal price of $ 40 to clean the love seat. So again, I agree. I rush out of the room, so as, not to give them a chance to find something else to add on. About 20-25 minutes later they are finished. WHAT? They were cleaning 5 rooms 2 bathes,1 hallway. Two rooms took 30 minutes(one acceptable one looked great) but 3 rooms and 2 bathes and 1 hallway took 20-25 and they looked like they did before they arrived, and actually my bathrooms looked worse. I didn't know that was possible. On top of that, they said the love seat and grout were also completed within that short period of time. UPON INSPECTION THEY LOOKED NOT ONE BIT BETTER just like my 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and hallway. Well I see in the bedrooms, small furniture had not been moved at all, I say nothing. But then, when I see the love seat, I complain that the armrest still looked filthy. They make a half-hearted attempt to clean it again, but don't bother cleaning the other armrest. I don't know what they used on it, or the grout, but it did not clean them at all. In the end, I felt like once I said, " No more Add-On's", they finished the whole job quickly and without pride in their work. They were both very nice young men but unfortunately this review isn't based on that. I had explained to them that the carpets hadn't been cleaned in a long while, hoping they would clean them a little better than normal, but not so, instead it seemed like I gave them an excuse as to why the carpets didn't coming clean very well. After spending almost $360.00 (70,00 more than quote) I felt robbed. like I only had one room cleaned for that amount. This company used to do such a great job on my carpets but unfortunately have always been a bit pricey for me so i used some of their competitors over the years and thought of this as splurging for the good cleaners but I will absolutely NOT CALL THEM THAT AGAIN OR CALL THEM PERIOD. Zero stars! Do not ever use Stanley Steemer. Worst service and then customer service I've ever had. Super disappointed we have companies in Austin that still try and rip you off of your money. I called them to clean my large sectional couch for the holidays and having family over. Told me I had to pay extra for the deodorizer. Couch was DRY before they even left. How would it be clean if it was already dry??! The other part of the couch now smells worse than it did before. So, I called to have them come back and re-clean my couch because it smelled so bad. The second crew said the first crew must not have cleaned it properly and they sprayed deodorizer on it and left. Didn't reclean it. Now, it smells the same and I wish I never called Stanley Steemer. I called to speak to the branch manager, Tony, and he told me he "can prolly give half back for the cleaning not the deodorizer, prolly." Upset, I asked if there was anyone else I could talk to and he misleadingly gave the phone to a manager (someone below him) and he said the same thing. I don't see how I have to pay for a service that I never got and was made even worse. And to have a manager hang up on you. For god sakes, I gave their workers drinks and candy before they left as a thank you thinking it would be clean!!!!!! Horrible service and horrible customer service!!!!!!!!!!!! And I am the nicest person you will meet. Going to another service because these people ruined my $5000+ couch. read more

In am extremely disappointed with my service with Stanley Steamer. I was referred to Stanley Steamer by my mother who has previously gotten her couches cleaned by them and was extremely happy with their services. I previously had a dog and called Stanley Steamer out to get my sofa and chair clean and rid of any dog hair/ smell. The service techs came out and I stayed in my room while they cleaned my couches and I also added on a deodorizer at the time of service. They let me know they where finished and asked me to come look at the finished product. I was speechless when I looked at my couches to find dog hair still all over them. I asked the tech why their is dog hair still on my couches if I called them out and paid them $162.32 for them to clean my couches. The tech told me they use a sponge and what ever they cant get off with the sponge is not their responsibility. I informed them that I have had a dog for years and I am able to vacuum my couches and rid them of dog hair with no issue of dog hair still being visible. He did not respond to my comment. I proceeded to pay him for the shitty service so that he would leave my apartment and took photos and contacted customer service right away. I let customer service what was going on and they told me the only thing they could do was send the same crew back to finish the job. I told them I did not want the same crew as they had done a half ass job the first time. They offered to send out another crew at a later date, however I was not willing to leave my couches looking the way they looked so I ended up vacuuming them myself. I contacted a supervisor who seemed to not truly care about the situation I dealing with. I explained to him the situation and that sending another crew out was not acceptable sense I had to finish the job myself. I told him that I was not "looking to get my service for FREE, I would just like a refund for 1/2 of the service sense the crew only did half of the job." He told me he was only willing to give me a $40 refund which I told him was not acceptable. I proceeded to tell him that I would either get half of the service charge back, or I would be disputing this charge with my bank for the quality of service. I have now had to dispute this charge with my bank and will be sending them all photos that I had taken of the job that was left unfinished before I ended up having to CLEAN MY OWN COUCH! NOT HAPPY AT ALL WITH SERVICE OR HOW CUSTOMER SERVICE HANDLED THIS! read more

I will never use Stanley Steemer again! Worst in customer service!! I came home Thursday after work to find my water heater had broken and leaked into one of my bedrooms and hallway. I remembered I saw a SS truck around the corner so I went over to ask the technician, Jorge F., for an estimate. He came over, gave me the estimate and I agreed to get the work done. He said he would try to be by later that night to get started. He called me at 8pm, told me he wouldn't be able to make it until morning. Friday morning 10:30, I haven't seen him, so called the technician, he said he's running behind and wouldn't be here until around 2pm. He still doesn't show up around 2pm. So I call him again to find out where he is, I leave a message, and texted him. He does not return my messages. Saturday afternoon, 1pm, I texted him again for an ETA. Still no return call from Jorge. So I decided to call the main line to find out whats going on. Come to find out, I am not in their system. So rather than calling a different company to help me, I decide to stay with Stanley Steemer, make another arrangement for service, they said they would call when someone was on their way. Saturday at 8:30pm SS calls to tell me someone is one their way. So I turn my porch light on, I wait, I wait, I wait.....11:30pm NOBODY shows. Sunday morning I call the main number again, they give me a estimated range of time of sometime between 11am and 3pm. NOBODY shows within that time frame!!! I don't want to call another company because they would put me at the end of their list and it would be that much longer. There had been a flood a few days earlier, which I'm sure everyone was busy with, but was not mentioned until my sunday call that SS was busy with that. At this point, I've given up calling. Some kid shows up at 5:30pm sunday evening, cannot answer any of my questions, seems to be very nervous, and is calling someone to find out where to put the fans and humidifiers. I let him know before he leaves that they cannot come by tomorrow until after I get off of work, since I took all day Friday off to meet with them and no one showed. He makes a note of it on my invoice. Monday, around 10am, while I'm at work, SS calls to tell me they are picking up the equipment!! NO, NO, NO!!! I cannot get off of work, I am paying a day's rental for their equipment, I deserve the equipment to be working 24 hours (1 day), not 16 hours! When I get home after work, I find out that one of the humidifiers is not working AND my insurance adjustor mentioned that the other humidifier in the garage is useless because its only sucking in humid air from the outside! Jorge finally shows up to see how things are going. I let him know about the humidifiers, and he knows how angry I am for waiting 4 days with wet carpet and no communication from SS. He wanted to rearrange the fans and change out the humidifiers and run them another day. I said, "forget it! I am getting another company to finish the job!" Jorge was apologetic. I asked for a refund on the humidifier, and Jorge said that because the carpets are still wet and the problems you had I will refund you the humidifier and two fans, but I'll have to get my manager to call you tomorrow morning because he can't do it there at the house. Manager calls me the next morning, and the ONLY refund he gives me is the humidifier! WHATEVER! I can't believe the horrible service all around! And also, Jorge assured me that I would not have a mold problem after 4 days of no SS service. I've never heard that it can be as long as 4 days for mold not to grow! Its usually a 48-hour turn around time for mold to start growing! I got a new service out to my house, SERVPRO, who has treated me courteously and professionally! They have called me each time to let me know they were en route to my house! They actually pulled the base boards out and my carpet up to let the fans run underneath and actually found that my walls in the utility room needed care as well, which SS didn't even notice! read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED. I just spent $168.00 for 3 bedrooms and 1 dining room, all in less than 30 minutes. Rugs appeared to be clean as they were wet, however once rugs dried there was as much dirt in them as before they were cleaned. I woke up this morning to find me wondering why I spent $168.00 when I could had gotten my rugs cleaned at half this amount. The service men were courteous and nice, however I learned they're alloted only so many minutes per room for cleaning. I'd NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY with this company. Now I must put my furniture back on carpet which is still dirty. Next time I will go to HEB and rent the equipment, do it myself. My carpets were not soiled, just dirty. read more

I had a shag carpet done and it was cleaned very well. I really think a shag carpet should be gone over twice if you want to get carpet cleaned best. Attendant didn't act mad when I asked him to go over areas, including one whole room twice. I tested the carpet with a white towel, going over wet area, and no dirt came off to towel, so I know it was clean. The person doing my carpet did try to make some extra sales; thats why I didn't rate all five stars; he was polite, but I start to get a little nervous when they do this, because you don't know how its going to turn out. read more

Update- it is now the middle of September. Stanley responded after my first review and I have been going back and forth with Darryl (customer service) since then. The Branch Manager refuses to even consider a refund until they make a 'courtesy call' meaning come to the house and clean and seal the tiles. Since all of my furniture and area rugs have been laid the majority of my tile will not be exposed. It has been one week since I was told I would be contacted to set up that courtesy call. I gave my cell number to Darryl again because the Branch Manager states he left me a message towards the beginning of this ordeal that i never received. I am offering to get call records pulled to prove that fact. I am still out $600 and I am so incredibly disturbed by the lack of customer support and not doing the right thing. Make this go away Stanley Steemer. Do the right thing and refund my $600 in full. They have a C+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, I wish I checked that before I hired them. They also damaged our furniture and when I reported the damage to the branch manager, he immediately dismissed my claim (as if they are perfect and make no mistakes). Don't ever hire this company. They destroyed my house. I had them clean and seal my saltillo tile on Aug 10. They scraped most of the paint off the baseboards and splashed dirty water all over the walls. Lower 2 feet of the walls and the baseboards had to be repainted in the foyer, dining room, living room and kitchen. Maybe some technicians are better than others but I would never allow Abel Rosas-Gonzales in my house again. They also used my dining room table as a work surface to open the sealer and spilled some which I caught before it dried. They also splashed sealer on the walls leaving shiny marks on the flat walls. Called the office, spoke with the manager Cody who's was no help at all. He was just not interested in my situation. Never never use these people, you will be sorry. read more

They did a great job in finishing our entire house flooring in one day! we had wax residue built up on some of the engineered wooden floors and they did an amazing job in making our floor look nice and shiny again. I highly recommend them. I tried other businesses but I never been a fan of any of them. Stanley definitely stands out with their outstanding performance and their staff is very friendly and responsive to all your needs. My wooden floors look as good as new. The crew of De Juan and James did an OUTSTANDING job at my place yesterday. Had scheduled a carpet cleaning with their special of 3 rooms for $99 which in and of itself is a great deal, but then decided to go with upholstery cleaning after they demonstrated the muck in my couch. My furniture is now like new again! They both worked their butts off! They both were extremely service oriented and friendly. I've tried other carpet cleaners (see my other Yelp reviews) but Stanley Steemer is by far the BEST. No need to go anywhere else. Ask for this crew! read more

When I schedul on-line, I know exactly what I'm getting cleaned, when the cleaners will be ther (within a small window of time), and how much it will cost. It doesn't get any easier than that. Red wine and white carpet don't mix! I have been a Stanley Steemer customer since I moved to Austin, and I must say that their service has only gotten better. I made the appointment online Friday night and like clockwork they called on Monday morning to say they were on the way shortly after 8. Each time they have been here, the very professional cleaners explain what they are doing, ask if there is anything that I need to bring to their attention, put the heavy pieces of furniture on either plastic or styrofoam squares and clean impeccably. And they caution multiple times not to slip when stepping on the tile from the carpet. There isn't a spot in sight--not even a pinkish stain where the red wine was. Very poor customer service! Waited 4 hours during appointed time for arrival. Had no contact number so call when cleaners didn't show. I called the 800 number to inquire. and got: "Oh, I'm so sorry, they're on their way!" Expected a call from "technicians". Nothing. Waited another 45 minutes. Finally called 800 number again to cancel, and was asked if I'd like to reschedule, which I declined permanently!!! Have not heard from them since. read more

These guys scratched my floor two months ago and have not fixed it. They also failed to remove the stains from my carpet and returned it stretched out. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service. I purchased a 3 cleanings contract from Steemer and used two. I have decided to replace my carpet with hardwood, so I contacted Steemer to ask if I could apply the balance to clean my leather sofa and loveseat. I was flatly denied that privilege...effectively losing about $120. I have always thought the Steemer was the best, and have used them for more than 15 years. I will, of course, never use them again or recommend them to anyone else. read more

We purchased a home with a lot of tile, and we have been in it about nine months. We were seeking some peace of mind from a professional steam cleaner that our grout could be easily cleaned should it become looking dirty. We chose a room that seemed to us had the most discoloration in the grout. We also chose a big name company, Stanley Steamer, to perform the work and if we liked the results we would consider the additional work. My wife cleaned up after the men that cleaned the bathroom floor. They had dried mud on their shoes and tracked it into the house. That was a big black eye on our experience. The grout did become more clean looking to me. My wife didn't notice a difference. The other thing that stood out to me is that there was no attachment device to clean in hard to reach places such as around a toilet. I would have thought the experts in the field would have thought of AND problem solved this already. Nothing too bad to say but this company will not be first choice when considering further floor grout restoration. Making a mess when you were hired to clean the floors is poor form. read more

Service was terrible. They came and picked up a rug to clean. Was to get it back middle of the next week. Did not hear from them. Monday of last week they had to find rug only to tell us it had not been cleaned yet. Would get it by Friday. Nothing from them. Was told Friday evening it would be delivered today 05/31 between 8-5. It is 6:25 pm and no rug. Called and they say it is on it's way. Worse business I have ever dealt with. Two weeks. Sit at home for 9 hours today 8-5 and it's still not here. Last Friday Stanley Steamer "cleaned and treated" carpets in my master bedroom and the walk-in closets. A significant dirty water spill by a contractor was given several attempts and seemed gone. (The spaces were completely devoid of furniture.) The next morning the contractor's stain had resurfaced. I got out my 1999 Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner. (I use a professional detergent sparingly.) I did the spill and since I had a full tank I did the whole room. Upon emptying the residue reservoir, I had dark, brown water. So I did it again with more detergent. 2nd attempt same results as my first attempt. So I did a 3rd cleaning this time using only warm water in order to remove the detergent. The results, slightly lighter, brown dirty reservoir water. I know most people aren't going to do this sort of test. I didn't start out to prove Stanley Steamer's equipment didn't really get carpets clean. I spent slightly over $115.00 with S.S. Do yourself a favor. Go to Walmart and purchase a Hoover SteamVac for between $139.00 & $149.00. It comes with everything in the box. I've used mine since 1999. It's as simple as vacuuming the carpet only with water mixed w/ detergent. You'll save a fortune and your carpets and rugs and hard floors will be deep-down clean and sanitary. The Stanley Steamer guys could not have been more professional or polite. It's their equipment that failed to get my carpet clean. read more
