I love this place!! The best thing, to start with, is the manager CARLOS. He is friendly, charming, helpful, a jump-in-and-help manager - and gives the place a warm hospitable environment!! He welcomes clientele with a big smile and makes you feel at home at Standard Service. The food is great! Fresh, healthy and unhealthy options. My favorite is the chopped salad with salmon. Service and ambiance were good. Fajita chicken tacos were subpar unless you like chickenless tacos. I found a few tiny pieces of burnt crispy fajita chicken under the slaw. Not sure why they pair French fries as the side for tacos? We also ordered the kale dip because it was on the happy hour menu. We expected something better. Instead, we spent $170 for drinks, 1 appetizer and 2 chicken breast meals split between 4 people. My $15 "martini" amounted to a half shot of Bombay Sapphire gin. I was charged more for a shot of olive juice. Chicken was overdone, 1 small scoop of mashed potatoes, and a tablespoon of gravy. Booths on both sides of us were jungle gyms for children. I just want to compliment the manager and the waitstaff for a great dinner yesterday. It was a packed house on a Sunday afternoon. My wife and I had our two small children and another couple had their baby. We were told that the wait would be about 30-40 minutes (our fault for not making a reservation). So we decide to find a table outside and try to make due. Rather than letting us sit outside, the GM (or manager) found us a table inside and out of the sun. We had a lovely dinner with great food (fajita tacos, wedge salad and buffalo chicken sandwich were outstanding) and great drinks. Don't let the name Standard Service fool you. This is the excellence that all others should reach to achieve! Decided to try lunch here after so many great reviews and referrals. We were not disappointed! Great quality of food. Loved the arugula on my chicken sandwich. It makes such a difference. My husband loved his deluxe burger too. And the soup..... Wonderful. Now for the service, Amanda is a rock star! She was right there with a great response when my husband started teasing her. She made the whole experience better because of her great sense of humor and knowledge of the menu. We enjoyed talking to her and will be happy to call this one of our new spots! Came in for a work dinner. The inside is very small, there were about 20 of us and I feel like we took the half the restaurant. The service was great, quick, and accurate. I was seated next to the kitchen entrance and saw a (large) roach scatter across the floor. Being from Texas I understand that those large tree roaches aren't necessarily a cause for concern but seeing one wasn't the most appealing in a restaurant. The staff just stepped on it and kicked it under the counter. Had a burger and fries, nothing fancy - but the food tasted good. They have a large outdoor patio which I'm sure when the weather is nice make this place a step up from what I saw. read more

The place had a weird vibe , service and staff was slow . Very pricey for a sandwich in Rockwall . And we had to fight off flies the entire visit . Was in Rockwall for a work function and stopped into Standard Service with 2 coworkers on a Tuesday night. The place was busy but we didn't have a wait for a table. I love the decor and our service was excellent. We were given plenty of time to enjoy our drinks before ordering food, and our server was attentive throughout the meal. We started with a round of their speciality cocktails and they were all really well made. The old fashioned was my favorite of what we ordered, and a dollar of the speciality drink purchases go to designated charities- count is kept using large scrabble letters on the wall. We each ordered a sandwich and we're pleased with them. I had the BLT which was buttery and heavy on the B. Also upgraded my side to the sweet potato waffle fries, and was glad I did! The ambiance is casual yet classy. I really love this venue. The customer service was top notch. The drinks were tasty. I ordered the frozé and YUM! We ordered queso and the spin they have the toppings like red onions and avocado on the queso make it the perfect combination. Our waiter even brought us salt and lime to add to the chips, which elevated the appetizer! We also ordered a burger with sweet potato fries and a grilled chicken club with cheese grits. The club was heavenly. Half is more than enough for one serving - the club is huge! I can't endorse the cheese grits, as they don't meet my standard for traditional, southern grits, but they did have a nice flavor as well. happy hour prices are good. if you order anything/change other than the bar liquor the upcharge is $13. Happy hour drink is $6. if you change the liquor to something else the revised cost is $19. This is a great new restaurant that Rockwall needs! It has the ambiance and food that many of the Dallas area restaurants offer. Great cocktails! Great food! I had the The Remedy burger. It was messy, but delicious. I chose the potato salad as a side. It was creamy, and a little spicy, but it worked. The Mr. had the Tejas bowl with chicken, and he was impressed. We split the Lucy sundae for dessert, and it was just as tasty as our server said it would be. The restaurant is smaller than you'd think, but we didn't have to wait long for a table. We came here today because we were in Rockwall. I'd read the mixed reviews but our experience was great. Service was fantastic! $2 mimosas were wonderful and definitely weren't skimpy on the alcohol. Tried both flavours and I slept the whole car ride home to Fort Worth! Had read someone said the French fries weren't great but ours were fantastic. So much so we ordered two large sides! My favourite dish was the cup of tomato soup I got with my BLT as a side. They also accommodated our kids, one of whom fell asleep on the booth, the other who is disabled. 10/10 recommend! read more

The fries were a little cold when they came out but they fixed it immediately and they came out again a few minutes later piping hot. Whatever sauce they serve it with is so, so good. What can I say about the farmhouse bowl? It was just really, really good. The burger patty was cooked and seasoned to perfection, the potatoes, carrots and peas as well. The goat cheese had so much flavor and was very smooth. The Spitfire cocktail is also delicious. I sat at the bar because the place was completely full on a Saturday night at 6pm. Even the bar filled up. Service was TOP NOTCH. Seriously, very good. The ladies were both super attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. They definitely know what they're doing. Standard Service is definitely unique for the area. I love that the brought the idea from their Greenville Ave. sister restaurant. I had great service and no complaints about their staff during my first visit. My favorite parts are the decor and the drink choices. I don't care about the parking, since you have choices near the tire shop and even Lowes (a little walking doesn't hurt anyone). In fact, I like how it is somewhat hidden next to a gym. I do not like small menus though and the fact that the wait staff do not know the drinks/food good enough to discuss them or know how their made.
