My daughter and I went this lovely Saturday morning to check them out and we were thrilled with the quality and service of the coffee shop. It's a cozy little spot where you can have a bite to eat along with your cup of coffee. There are a few tables along the wall that's graced with some amazing artwork. Towards the front there's a small sofa accompanied by two chairs and a small coffee table. Lovely setup! We ordered a Cappuccino, Americano, Lemon loaf cake, and a Cinnamon Coffee cake. The cakes were fresh and delicious and our coffee choices were equally delicious. You owe it to yourself to visit Brooklyn Perk. Oh, I forgot to mention, there are also two cute benches right outside the shop to sit and relax on a nice day...sipping away!

The Farm Fresh Battenkill Whipped Cream? Delectable, fluffy, and has ruined all other whipped cream for me. I can't explain how much better it was with the whipped cream. It was sweet, buttery, and rich; unlike most other whipped creams I've had. My only con (and this is somewhat beyond their control) was it did get quite chaotic with people's pets and kids' strollers that were taking up the sidewalk making it hard for others to pass or to peacefully continue our conversation. The only coffee they had on the menu was cold brew and I'm not usually a fan of it as I've found most cold brew that I've tried to be way too overpowering and strong. However, Parlor Coffee's cold brew is the perfect balance between tastefulness, strength, and smoothness I've ever had. The cold brew also has a very subtle hint of dark chocolate which compliments the body of the coffee so well. I have yet to try this Prospect coffee but I couldn't wait to make this post about it first! The staff member in attendance was also unbelievably friendly and is a massive reason why I'm writing this post. Would highly highly recommend this delicious coffee to anyone.

Konditori, Villager, Bakeri, Hidden Grounds, and now Velvette Brew. First, the space: light, airy and I can imagine with their big windows, a sun soaked place on a sunny day. There are plenty of seats: tables and high top tables. Their menu offers a bit of everything from soup, sandwiches, quiche and pastries. There is a nice option of beverages hot/cold. Today, was a bit damp so I ordered a hot chai with bite size checkerboard cookies to dip. The barista was very pleasant and I found a seat while waiting for my chai. I see a lot of patrons working in laptops, some meeting up to talk and sip and even the barista chatted with a local patron. Love it! My chai was piping hot and absolutely delicious. The chai was frothy, rich, the black tea leaves infused with cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, sweetener, and milk. I savored every sip and complimented the barista. It is always great to find a new coffee place. I expect to be a loyal local at Velvette Brew. They also host music events and have a collaboration with Cry Baby Ice Cream. It is located in the heart of Park Slope. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Velvette Brew 279 5th Avenue B63 to 3rd and 5th or R to Union Street, 10 minute walk.
