He will try not to answer and if he does he will give you a push back over and over for months. He pushed our order so many times and told me to go to small claim court which I think he says to everyone to scare away. I don't even want to give him 1 star for the inconvenience he caused in regards to our order. He used our deposit money and never actually placed orders until we reached out to him. He then was hesitant and kept saying to go to small claim court because he can't refund the money. This is not how to run a business at all. This person is a scammer his name is Jared. He installs shutters -- he comes to your house, tells you an amazing story, you trust his work and his word, he asks you for the deposit and then you never see him again. You contact him by message and he gives you exaggerated excuses, and after so many promises he simply tells you to take him to court because he's not going to give you your money back. I gave him seven thousand dollars, and he tells me that if I want it, I have to take him to court, or he'll pay me back in payments. I'm letting you know so you don't fall for his scam. Taking him to small claims. DO NOT BOTHER with this company or anything associated with Jared Staley. After signing and sending a deposit back in 8/13/2025 he has since avoided all calls, texts, & work. Since we sent the deposit, Jared had stated on numerous occasions that the manufacturer was completing our shutters and he would be able to install the same week. Every time he said he would be installing he would lie about traffic, rain conditions, having a new born, taking care of his son, or that the manufacturer fell through. This went on for months. He has since had an expired license with the state of CA from 12/1/2025 & my husband and I have filed a claim with both his bond company and small claims. His bond company is help up with numerous cases. Jared Staley is a fraud & scam artist who takes advantage of people and their money. read more

We have used Jared Staley for quite a few of our projects, and highly recommend him. He does beautiful, quality work. There was a bit of a delay because of the manufacturing process, but the wait was worth it. While speaking with him at one of our first projects, we found out that he is a small businessman, doing every step of each project himself, from estimates to ordering to installation. We would much rather deal with him, and get quality work, than to deal with big businesses where we're just a number. On a side note, I saw a review from someone in Australia complaining about delays in their service. I highly doubt that he travels that far for such a good price! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I paid a $2,800 deposit and was guaranteed my shutters would be installed within 6-7 weeks. It's now been 11 weeks, and I still don't have my shutters. After constant runarounds and excuses -- "they're on back order," "my team is busy," "the manufacturer messed up," "I've been sick" -- I finally demanded my money back. Instead of doing the right thing, they refused to issue a refund and gave me temporary shutters as a cover-up. This company has shown zero professionalism, no accountability, and terrible communication. Every promise made was broken, and I've been left with nothing but frustration and wasted time. Proceed with Jared Staley, Staley's Blinds with extreme caution! Jared Staley took my deposit of $2990 last July 3,2025 for an order for shutters. His quote/receipt stated 5-6 weeks for delivery and installation. By October 21, over THREE MONTHS from date of order, I finally had had enough of his many excuses and delays and cancelled my order and asked for my money back. He pretty much said I would have to take him to small claims. He then asked me for a couple of days to get the money back to me, which I did. Today is November 20th and I have no shutters, nor my deposit of $2990. I will be filing a complaint with the State of California and a claim on his bond. I am a 76 year old widow who gave this man my money in good faith. Shame on him! And btw, the review by Brandon C is probably not a fake as Jared claims. His problem with Staley sounds just like mine. read more

We ordered vertical blinds for our sliding glass door and horizontal blinds for two bedrooms through Staley's. The owner Jared provided a quick consultation and the price was literally half of what 3 Day Blinds quoted me. I'm not one for reviews since I don't have the time, but I took the time since I am another victim of this fraudulent business. PLEASE BE ALERT IF YOU HIRE THIS INDIVIDUAL OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY! I found this contractor (Jared Staley-owner) on Thumbtack to install shutters and he responded right away. The reviews looked good so we did business with him. When he came to our home on 9/6/25 he seemed like an honest person, is a people person, and knowledgeable on what he sells so you are sold immediately. We paid a 50% deposit ($2,150.00) and he left us a paper that looks like a flyer with his business information, some notes on the scope of work and both party signatures are on it. The estimated date for installation was 5-6 weeks. We wanted them sooner and he said sometimes they arrive in 3 weeks and if we wanted them sooner, we had to pay extra. My husband called him in November and Jared told him they would be ready in 2 weeks and by end of Nov. My husband left him a message on 12/5/25 and he got a text that he was in a meeting. He called him again on 12/6/25 to check the status of our shutters. This time Jared answered, but dead silence (probably trying to figure out what lies he would feed us this time), so my husband told him who he was. Jared says, "I know you you are!" My husband tells him we have waited 3 months and what is the status? Jared responds, "the machine is broken!" We are fortunate that we paid with our credit card so we will be filing a merchant charge back claim for fraud. We will also be reporting this to the Department of Consumer Affairs, Better Business Bureau, County District Attorney's office, Ca Attorney General's Office, and the Federal Trade Commission. I also looked up his license #1084585 on the Contractor State License Board and nothing came up, but I will get clarification on Monday when I call the Contractors State License Board. The address on his agreement for the business address is a house with trailers. This is crystal clear that it's a scam. SHAME ON YOU FOR TAKING ADVANTAGE OF HONEST PEOPLE!! read more

Horrible Customer Service. The communication I received was unprofessional and debilitating. Several different dates were promised to me for install (4 to be exact) I didn't hear anything so I followed up the day I was supposed to get an install which I missed work to ensure I was there. The OWNER would not respond for hours some times days then randomly would respond and say "sorry there was a delay."(one response I received was "sorry its delayed again if you are unhappy with the date you can take me to small claims sorry") I was very unhappy with this " 15 year bussiness" which I highly doubt because how poor this customer service was. It was a joke and you are the only employee and can't afford more shows this bussiness isn't growing and needs customer service training.(I'm more than happy to assist in that I would love to see your business grow) Also not to mention don't expect normal professional business hours, after agreement the only time he made for me 3 different occasions was after 8pm, very unprofessional.
