Right away I knew they had the best interest in doing a fantastic job, not trying to sell me things I didn't need. They were honest to a fault. Great news for me they were also the best priced in town. I contacted several contractors for the same projects and was always quoted higher than HPM. The real tipping point was the quality of the products they used. After much research these guys are using top notch quality products that other contractor's didn't even offer or would have cost a fortune to provide. If you are getting attic insulation and have knee walls, get the insulation HPV provides for the knee walls. It has had a profound effect on the house. My house used to always feel worse than whatever the weather was outside. Now it is like it should be! Cool when hot, warm when cold. These guys did an excellent job. Another thing I want to say is that they took measures into making sure they worked clean. I really couldn't tell they were even here doing a major project after they were done. They were amazing. This all started with getting a quote from HPM on repairs to our HVAC/Vent system (not enough air in one room) and that's when the schooling began. I spoke to Lisa and from the get-go, she was great at listening to my concerns and explained that of course, they can do what I was requesting. Lisa began to explain to me that there were several other options I may want to consider. She pointed to the Energy Upgrade California (EUC) rebate program - https://www.energyupgradeca.org/home-energy-efficiency/ After reviewing the program, we decided to move forward. Extremely helpful, patient & knowledgeable fellow by the name of Nate, paid us a visit. He did a complete audit assessment of our HVAC & energy consumption. After completing the assessment, their energy advisor, Jim paid us a visit. I was running late to my appointment to meet with Jim & I called him hoping we could still meet that evening. Jim was super flexible and did not have an attitude about waiting just a bit. I really appreciated that. He laid out the program and thoroughly discussed our needs, expectations and went over all the things that would be replaced, fixed, updated, etc. We discussed solar as well, but he wisely pointed out that it was a good idea to do this first in order to get a true understanding of the energy consumption AFTER this initial work was completed. This way we didn't go out an purchase a system that would always be overcompensating for gaps/inefficiencies in our home system. No one has really suggested that and it just made a lot of sense to me. I've worked around many sales people, and I have to say, Nate's approach was clear, patient and he was extremely knowledgeable of what he did. Not pushy whatsoever - which is what I was expecting. The work began and a crew that was headed by Ricardo showed up. Ricardo went over the recap as to what was going to happen and how long it would take to get be completed, etc. On day two of the work, we had a city-wide electric outage and it was pretty warm. I thought Ricardo was going to gather his team and postpone the work. Not so. Ricardo said they had a generator and that they were committed to get the work done. His team was on time both days, made sure rooms were walled off to maintain cleanliness and above all, seemed very knowledgeable & honest. We had asbestos removal, insulation installation & duct-work replacement. Excellent job HPM and a special thank you to Lisa, Nate, Jim and Ridardo for helping make this experience seamless & extremely positive. I was thoroughly impressed with HPM. From start to finish they have provided beyond exceptional service. When I began my search for an entire duct replacement on my home, I read tons of reviews on several reputable companies. I had estimates provided by six different companies. For the most part, I met with reasonable and informative representatives but was most impressed by HPM. Although they were not the least expensive, I felt the most confident with them. And even though I dragged my feet on making my decision (it took me well over 6 months to decide and move forward) they continued to follow up with my and my project and did not push me to rush my decision. I'm so glad I wasn't just another estimate that crossed their path and was forgotten about. I appreciated the follow through with the estimate, the scope of work, the removal of my old ducts, the installation of the new and improved ducts, and the service even after it was all completed. From the initial contact on the phone to schedule the first appointment all the way to the completion of work, each member of HPM was professional, personable, and respectful. I especially appreciated the way they treated me and my home and saw the efforts that were made to be efficient and careful of my property. Jim Hafar was my main point of contact and he always responded timely and with the utmost respect. The abatement crew was polite and so efficient that they finished early enough for me to pick up my kids from school! The crew (Jorge & John) that came in to do the install was fabulous! The guys were super nice and did everything in less than a day, finishing earlier than expected! And they even cleaned up nicely!! Matt was great with the follow up after the work was done and Johanna from accounting was also very pleasant! It's hard to find a company with such great employees all around! The work completed has been terrific! Now we have even air flow throughout the house and can't believe how great the air conditioning works, especially with the summer heat that we've been having! I have already recommended HPM to a couple of friends and family members and am currently requesting their services for a rental unit! I have never been so happy with a company in every avenue and am so glad that HPM was recommended to me! I know it sounds too good to be true but I don't think anyone can go wrong with HPM! I am a single, female homeowner who has had several unpleasant home improvement company experiences. This was not the case in working with Home Performance Matters. I did quite a bit of research before hiring HPM in April/May 2016 to install Attic Insulation, Wall Insulation, HVAC (Heater & Air Conditioning), a Tankless Water Heater, an Electrical Panel, & a Variable Speed Pool Pump.... Basically everything HPM has to offer. From start to finish, working with HPM was a pleasure. I began the process with an Energy Audit with Nate, and recommend doing this to anyone with an old house. The next step was meeting with Jim, who explained the results of the audit and showed examples of insulation, ducting, and water heaters at the company's showroom. At this time, one of the owners, Andrew, was also available to answer questions that I had. After that, I had as much time as I needed to ask as many questions as I had before making my final decision. When my decision had been made, Jim met with me at my house and explained thoroughly how the work would proceed. When the work began, Matt was the Production Manager. Matt contacted me prior to all jobs to let me know what was going to happen, and like his workers, he was always EARLY!!! Matt is also excellent at responding quickly to questions. Good communication is an all around strength with Home Performance Matters. All employees of HPM were professional, and always working. There was nothing that made me uncomfortable about having HPM workmen in my home when I was not there. They cleaned up EVERYTHING and were not bothered by helping me understand how to operate my new appliances. There was a lot going on at my house with all the different projects, and at the end of it all there isn't even a hiccup in the process to mention. It's been a few days since completion, and I have been able to use both the heater and AC. I am pleased to say both work great, and there is a HUGE difference in my house's ability to maintain temperature with the addition of insulation. I am looking forward to summer in my nice cool house, and can't wait to see the difference in my energy usage with the new pool pump! I had an energy audit performed on my home, to determine where I could make effective changes to enable our home to be more efficient and comfortable. I have made quiet a few changes to our home over the years, but without any outside testing and felt it was time to get a professional in to assist me in the next round of decisions in a whole house or system approach. I diffidently chose the right company to assist me. I had interviewed four companies regarding energy audits with a focus of a whole house as a system approach. Home Performance matters was the only company that also had that vision and focus to their approach on energy efficiency, effectiveness and the need for an audit. I was very impressed at the start when I first contacted and spoke with Lisa who was extremely personable as well as knowledgeable about the companies approach and abilities, as well as her noted loyalty and confidence as a team member. Lisa listened to my concerns and asked appropriate questions to determine how to advise me on the process and procedures. This was invaluable to me as a novice in this area. An audit was scheduled in the next few days as well as helpful information being sent to me that same day. With in that information was a letter of instruction that provided both the name and picture of the auditor Daniel Sams, who arrived promptly and took the time to discuss with my concerns and what I was looking to accomplish. Daniel then went to work and thoroughly tested our home to enable a detailed analysis and recommendations so that those concerns as well as others I had not noted were addressed. The following week Andrew also promptly arrived at the house and provided me with a detailed review with recommendations that made sense as well as reasonably priced. A particular point that I would like to make and one that I fell encapsulates this companies integrity is although one of the two cooling systems I have is not running at maximum efficiency I was offered alternative measures, not a recommendation to purchase a new system, to increase the efficiency of the system, as the current system still has some life to it. I have previously provided a review of HPM describing the overall excellent service, communication, quality and professionalism with the Solar PV project they completed for us. It was no surprise that the service provided for their energy efficiency work was equally exemplary. The energy efficiency work provided included removing old insulation and reinsulating the attic and kneewalls. Secondly, all the old ducts from the HVAC unit were removed and replaced. They also did some electrical work and added energy efficient fixtures. The work for this combined project was completed within the agreed upon 4 days. Two issues did arise during this project which should be mentioned. During the insulation, one of the workers stepped through the ceiling. However, true to their promptness and professionalism, HPM had repaired the ceiling with matching texture by the time I returned home from work that evening. The next day, they were able to paint to match the ceiling such that the repair was seamless. The second issue was that an older vent was to be changed with a newer and more energy efficient model. Unfortunately, one of the workers changed the vent from the wrong bathroom. Upon realizing the mistake, HPM replaced both vents with the more efficient model at no additional cost. I recognize that mistakes occur. I have dealt with several contractors and it is rare that "everything goes smoothly." Despite these two issues, things were still completed on time and to the highest standard. What separates HPM from other contractors, in my opinion, is again their professionalism, communication and desire/ability to rectify things quickly. For these issues, HPM corrected the situation to at least the same quality, if not better, then before the accident. This approach to prioritizing and rectifying their error is another way with which they separate themselves from other contractors. As with the Solar project, their ability to communicate with us and coordinate the work, city inspection etc... was outstanding. For this reason, the project was able to be completed with minimal interference in our schedule and life. read more

This is going to be a long one but I hope it helps someone else... We replaced a total of 8 windows and 1 sliding door with Hometime Windows and Doors. Upon Dylan arriving for our consultation, we had already had one other company estimate our project. We were convinced we were going with the first company due to their pricing and presence. Dylan really sold us with his genuine conversation and honesty. The two estimates he provided onsite were both less than what the other company quoted but included additional perks like extra sound proofing and privacy glass that the first company did not include. Not to mention that they build locally so any future issues or re-screening will be less of a hassle. They also offered additional discounts that the other company did not. Cheaper pricing and a shorter production time was a plus. Today they installed our windows. Eduardo and Carlos were punctual and very friendly. They walked through to triple check the sizing, explained the process, and even helped out with removing all of our alarm sensors (including old ones). They also made sure that we were ok with them leaving the windows and doors open with our cat. They covered our floors prior to starting the removal process which went very quick. When I say they are quick, I mean it. They started around 7:30AM and were done by 1:30PM. Their shop vac was the loudest noise and was short lived to about 15 minutes or less. They tore out the frame for the sliding door and repaired the bottom section before placing the new door. Both Carlos and Eduardo's work was clean, they worked seamlessly together, and talked highly about the company and their role in it (which was very refreshing to hear). I am extremely impressed with the quality of the windows, the installation and the employees as a whole. We have had some shoddy contractors recently who have great reviews but under deliver and are dishonest. We were very skeptical going into this but Hometime Windows and Doors will be highly recommended to all our family and friends. read more

Excellent experience with both Hometime Windows & Doors (HWD) and Home Performance Matters (HPM). If I went into detail to thank you properly it would be too long for the internet. So here is my brief evaluation of your fine company: Our experience with HWD and HPM was absolutely positive. From the thorough analysis of our homes energy usage and efficiency short comings to the professional and qualified crews who came to our home. Each and everyone went the extra yard to make the project a success. I would like to thank Mike and his team at HWD for a great job installing a great product. Our new double pane vinyl sliding windows and patio door are absolutely wonderful. What a difference from our old 1956 crank windows! I would also like to thank Jonathon and his team - Ricardo and his attic/wall insulation and duct crew. Special thanks to George and his amazing knowledge of all aspects of home energy efficiency and uncanny ability to fix just about anything. As fate would have it we had a chance to see the difference the new wall/attic insulation made to the comfort of our home just a day after installation when the weather jumped into the mid-90's and our ac was not working. Even w/out the ac, the temp. inside the house never went above 79 degrees. Before the insulation was installed, this temperature spike w/out a working ac would have driven the inside temp. to 90 degrees or more. Great job from start to finish. I learned of Home Performance Matters through their thoughtful presentation to a local service club. As someone with aging and expensive home heating and cooling systems, I was immediately interested in what Home Performance Matters might do for me. When further research revealed enthusiastic customer reviews I chose Home Performance Matters to conduct an energy audit of my home - I'm glad I did The energy audit revealed a number of steps that could be taken to provide substantial energy savings. Specific recommendations, along with options and alternatives were prepared based on the audit. Although their package of ideas was specific and objective, there was never a hint of high-pressure salesmanship. After consultation with Home Performance Matters I decided that the project would include a complete retrofit of heating and cooling systems, additional insulation, asbestos removal, crawl space resealing, duct repair and replacement, dry-wall patch and paint, and rebate processing.
