I paid $14 for a tiny sandwich which left me still very hungry. On top of this, the staff was incredibly rude and refused to talk to me when I came to pick up my order. Decided to go to the poke shop, and discovered a nice lunch poke bowl! She had a half chicken salad sandwich and country potato soup while I had the turkey club and the tortilla soup. All the food came out as ordered and was very tasty. I could only finish half my sandwich, it was so big. My soup was properly spicy, moms was rich and chunky. The only problem was in trying to pay with anything other than cash. The cashier kept saying "It's on our end," but after trying ApplePay with my watch as well as the physical card, I was worried I would have to wash dishes, so I just resorted to coin of the realm. That seemed to work OK, but it was so long that I just told them to keep the change. We got mom's phone updated and synced her Apple Watch to it without any hiccoughs. Waldo's Chicken & Beer is the kind of place where you walk in planning to have some fried chicken…read moreand somehow leave having made a series of excellent life choices. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and exactly what fried chicken is supposed to be. Then the sides started showing off. The Navy beans were ridiculously good, the wedged fries disappeared faster than they should have, and the cheese biscuits made me seriously question why regular biscuits even bother showing up anymore. Then came the banana pudding. At that point, any thoughts of moderation had officially left the building. But the bartender deserves special recognition. We somehow ended up with a concoction of spiked slushies that were cold, delicious, creative, and dangerously good. I'm not entirely sure what was in all of them, but after a couple, I was prepared to trust the bartender with most major life decisions. Great chicken. Great sides. Great drinks. Great atmosphere. Waldo's, you had me at fried chicken, but the cheese biscuits and boozy slushies sealed the deal.

It took over half an hour for the 3 of us to get our food. We ordered at the counter, aka "fast casual service", which offers slightly cheaper menu with other options. I ordered the southwest taco bowl and added chicken. It came out to be about $20, which I don't think is a fair price for what you get. My bowl was served lukewarm, leading me to think it had just been sitting there for quite some time. It didn't have a whole lot of flavor but the communal hot sauce bottle saved the day. Nothing special on the inside, very much of a sport bar atmosphere.

The wings were wayyy too big and felt undercooked, and the bacon flight was unremarkable. The entrees were also okay. The best was the shrimp and grits which I would return on this dish only. Evrything was just too too salty. My palate was ruined after a while. The rest were just okay, but I did like the greens. Standout was that bread pudding.
