Handed my ticket to loader. Two minutes later while sitting in my truck enjoying a tasty apple, a Stahlman employee named Derrick immediately starts hammering on the fork lift horn and screams he doesn't have all day. I file a complaint to the yard manager Scott and he does nothing. Derrick insults me again and gets in my face in a threatening manner, takes his glasses off and ask me "if I want some". Scott still does nothing. Unbelievable! Mike ended up helping me load my truck, very nice guy. I then take this Eddie the store manager and again nothing. I've been shopping here for 19 years and that was my last visit.
A little grumpy is ok. We all have our moments. Getting in my face (a customer) and wanting to fight, is inexcusable.
For the record, Scott said and I quote: "Derrick shouldn't be like that, he just got out of the hospital." What???
Now let's talk about pricing. The day before I went to Olshan Lumber for 12" Hardie smooth, price was $10.75. Stahlman wanted $12.59 each. That's $1.84 difference! Let's take Hardie 1x6. Olshan $14.55, Stahlman $17.89. Difference of $3.34 a board! WOW.
So let me get this straight, go to Stahlam Lumber and have my ass kicked by one of their employees while the business price gouges me about $130 more that I paid elsewhere the day before for the exact same items. Had I not had a doctors appointment and a framer waiting on me I would have returned the items for refund.
Po-dunk hillbillies as management at best. Inexcusable behavior from management and employees. read more
