Stacks don't need a Yelp Review they deserve it Thank you Tiger for a great approach always with a smile, which reflects a great Ambiance, and excellent customer service from the entire Staff. Food from breakfast to lunch just the best in the hall world I have traveled

Skillet
Nisha M.

The food here is fantastic! We were extremely impressed with everything even down to the syrup for the pancakes and waffles. I will definitely be back for more! My only concern was the service. The service was good, but it seemed a little bit chaotic like maybe they are still learning how they want to divvy up the tables to each server? We had at least four different servers check on us and we did not Know which one was supposed to be our server. They were all extremely kind and very helpful so it was not an issue, just a little confusing.

Country Fried Steak
Stanley K.

We ordered a bunch of different items and overall everything was delicious. I got the country fried steak with scrambled eggs and sourdough toast, and it was excellent. We also tried the Texas skillet with pancakes, which was really good and filling. The New Mexican omelet had great flavor, although it was a little too salty for my taste. My favorite was the side of plain waffles, it was the best! Perfect texture and easily one of the highlights of the meal. We also had two orange juices to go with everything. Great food, generous portions, and plenty of options on the menu. Place is crowded on a weekend so make sure to get on the waitlist and check in at the front when you arrive.

Stacks STACKS' SIGNATURE
Andrew T.

An all-time classic spot for American breakfast. The portions are HUGE, so I definitely recommend sharing or preparing to take home leftovers. I got the Chicago Skillet, which comes with eggs (you can request your preferred style) and pancakes. The pancakes are what keep me coming back, so buttery and fluffy that I honestly enjoy them on their own. Also tried the French toast and Stacks Signature, which comes with an abundance of fresh fruit. Overall, I've been here before and would definitely come back again! Note: There was some confusion when ordering the French Toast Combo. The regular French toast comes with 6 pieces and can be upgraded to include eggs and sausage/bacon/hash browns, while the French Toast Combo comes with the upgrade but only 4 pieces of French toast. The menu itself doesn't make this distinction very clear other than the price so heads up on that.

COUNTRY BREAKFAST

If you are ever around the Glendora area, there is a spot that you should stop by Stacks on Route 66. It has that old-school diner vibe where the portions are gigantic and the service is spot on. Overall I came here with a few friends to enjoy a nice brunch. We had to wait a little bit but it wasn't too bad. I ordered the Santa Monica sandwich that was on sourdough bread, turkey, avocado, tomato, lettuce, and mayonnaise. It comes with a small cup of soup so I decided to get French onion and this by itself was very hearty and delicious. The cheese was plenty and the onions were nice and soft. The sandwich also came with a side of pasta salad and French fries. Yum this was so good I would totally come back to try their other options. The menu was long and had tons of different items. They do serve pancakes and toast but I wanted a sandwich at the time so I got that and it was very delicious and simple! My friends had the country fried steak and that also was good. The gravy wasn't too heavy and the portion size was huge! Can't wait to come back here again!

CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKE and hashbrowns

We checked out Stacks on Route 66 on a Sunday morning and apparently everyone else in area had the same idea because this place was packed! Luckily, they move pretty quickly and we didn't have to wait nearly as long as I expected. The portions here are no joke and the food came out surprisingly fast for how busy they were. I got the chicken fried steak and it looked so good that I completely forgot to take a picture before digging in. By the time I remembered, it was definitely too late for a Yelp worthy photo We also got the chocolate chip pancakes which were really good and definitely hit the spot. Between those and the chicken fried steak, we did not leave hungry. Our server was very nice and accommodating the entire time. I also really liked the classic diner vibe. Give me a busy old school breakfast spot with big portions and good food and I'm happy. Definitely a great breakfast spot whether it's just a couple of you or you're rolling in with the whole family. We'll be back!

Son had a Mickey pancake..and I had the Belgian Waffle with Strawberries and whip. added on eggs and hash browns well done.

Served by Sophia B. Excellent service. Food was abundant. Yes, a little pricey but worth it. Its a lot everywhere then you get one tiny pile of strawberries and a plop of whip. I got three heaps on the most perfectly crunchy and beautiful Belgian Waffle. STACKS DONT PLAY. Sophia was as sweet as can be! Coffee was topped off 3 times and the coffee person came around often to keep my coffee full and warm. Come early. We got here at 755 and at 839, this place is hopping and people are consistantly rolling in. Rule of thumb fir best service come on the off hours and/or come early. Large outside seating and Im sure nice dogs are welcome. Stay classy Glendora!

Wrapped Dutch baby with fruit

Amazing. I don't normally leave reviews but I had to. Over the past few years, restaurant prices have soared while quality and portions declined so I wasn't expecting a lot. Since we are here for the weekend we obviously needed breakfast and I found this gem on Yelp. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. I had the Dutch baby with fruit and the hubs had the country skillet. Forgot to take a pic of the skillet before it was devoured. Probably the best restaurant breakfast we've had in years. Highly recommend.

Mickey Mouse Pancakes
Misha G.

We were seated pretty quickly, especially since we had already joined the waitlist online. I think we may have gotten overlooked in their system, but once we let the staff know, they had us head to the front and got everything sorted out. Even though the restaurant was really busy, the service was still friendly and attentive. The food was excellent! I especially loved the stuffed French toast it was delicious. The eggs were fluffy, the sausage was flavorful, and the hash browns were crispy and tasty. The kids' menu was adorable, and the Mickey Mouse pancakes were such a cute touch. The freshly squeezed orange juice was also a nice touch, especially since it had little to no pulp. The portion sizes were generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. The restaurant was clean. Overall, we'd definitely come back for another breakfast!

Stuffed French Toast
Gifty W.

A neighborhood staple. It's your classic diner with fun twist on some dishes. Pancakes are solid but I usually go for their skillets. We came last weekend and our server was phenomenal. She held it all down outside in the warmer temps and a full house. Sadly I didn't get her name.

Table for 2, food for 4
Sandy T.

We came to EAT! We had the protein omelet, stacks special, stuffed French toast, and the add a side of eggs and sausage and we were SO stuffed! Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff were very kind. It is definitely a diner-style restaurant, casual. The women's restroom honestly smelled like someone smoked in a port-a-potty, but it was clean. Stop by and enjoy!

DENVER OMELETTE
Kate L.

The place is packed when I drove up on Saturday morning. Place was busy. I was seated quickly out on the patio. Ordered and food came out quick and I was out quickly. Buttery fluff pancakes, good crunch on the hashbrowns on the outside, cheesy Denver omelette. Good for family & big groups. A bit taken back that my bill was $30 for just an average experience for one person.

Bacon waffle
Ann M.

I used to like this place when it was Flappy Jacks. Stacks menu is different and don't have what I want. The food was decent and the portions were good, but nothing really stood out. It was busy but not busy to be seated on a Wednesday. Service was okay Ambiance was casual old diner. A nostalgia feeling

Ask the Community - Stacks On Route 66

Take reservations for up 14 people?

Not sure about reservations but they can def accommodate 14. Saturdays and Sunday mornings are their busiest so I'd recommend going early before the crowd arrives.

Do they offer gluten free options?

yes :)

Any breakfast specials or happy hour?

Do you have waffles?

Yes, they have waffles on their menu.

Update: Thanks for the replies. I looked in their app and online before posting question. 1 pancake is listed under side orders. Are pancakes no longer served as a breakfast?…

Yes they serve many types of pancakes. You can order one as a side to any other meal.

Do they have sourdough pancakes?

No sourdough, but lots of other great pancakes!

How is the parking? easy access for seniors?

Lots of parking all around the building as well as some parking spots you need the DMV permit.

Do they still have gluten free pancakes?

We have gluten free pancakes and they taste amazing 💞

Why did they change their name?

New Owners and not very friendly or welcoming!

Is there outside seating?

Yes

Does the entire party need to be there before they will seat you?

They prefer to have the whole party there before they seat you. So if you can get your name in with the Host/Hostess, it will help.

Can they text you when your table is ready?

Yes

How long would be the wait time on a Friday around 10:30AM? Also, are high chairs for babies available?

Probably a 20-30 minute wait but times vary and yes they do have high chairs available.

Is there still outdoor dining?

Yes

Do they use real maple syrup or is it flavored corn syrup?

Real

How long is the wait time on Sunday mornings around 9:00 am?

Around 9am for party of 2 about 20-25 mins for bigger parties 4 or more takes longer the best time to go on a sunday is around 8am gets busy around 8:45 onwards

Do u have to be vaccinated to come inside?

No, they are not checking if you are vaccinated or not

Are there vegan options?

There are definitely items you can make vegan. Take for example the Cali Skillet. All veggies but it does have eggs and cheese. Ask for no cheese and ask them to replace the eggs for fruit. They serve sour dough in place of the pancakes, as well.…

Hours on July 5th?

I believe the normal hours!

Can I make a reservation for tomorrow morning?

They don't take reservations.

The restaurant is clean, modern, and has vibrant colors when you enter. The customer service was friendly, professional, and efficient. I ordered the Pumpkin Pie Crepe and the Turkish Coffee to go along with it. There was a little bit of a wait, but I didn't mind since there was only one person working. The Pumpkin Pie Crepe tasted exactly like a pumpkin pie, as expected. However, it wasn't too sweet and had more of a real pumpkin flavor that pair very nicely with the pecans and caramel drizzle. The crepe was cooked perfectly and held together nicely with all the other ingredients. The portion size was large and could be shared between two people. It didn't exactly blow me away, but I appreciated the fact that it tasted like I was eating a pumpkin pie without the over sweetness. The Turkish Coffee was okay in my opinion, but it could be because I'm not used to it. Creamer and sugar packets are provided. The coffee alone was very bold and almost had a burnt taste, but not in a bad way; bringing out the flavor of the coffee beans more. I think if flavors of the coffee were offered then it would definitely be a favorite. My partner tried the frozen yogurt and she enjoyed it very much. The serving size was large as well, enough for two-three people. Overall, I enjoyed my experience. To my knowledge, no military nor first responder discount offered.

We came for brunch and I had this delicious crepe with cheese, cucumbers and za'atar. Today, my friend and I ordered a Coke and an ice water and sat in the lounge area to work on assignments. The café was far from full, with only a couple of other people in the lounge and plenty of open seating available. After about an hour, the owner came over and rudely told us we were "holding two tables over a Coke" and pressured us to order more. I understand businesses need customers to make purchases, but there is a respectful way to communicate that. What made the situation worse was that after I ordered a coffee, she immediately turned to my friend and basically stared him down with a strict look, clearly expecting him to order something too. I explained that we were going to split the coffee, because we're both trying to lose weight, but she continued making the situation uncomfortable. Staring down a customer and making them feel pressured to spend more money is not how you treat paying customers. What makes this even more frustrating is that the menu is already severely overpriced for what is offered. On multiple occasions, I've heard the microwave running while food was being prepared. Paying premium prices for what appears to be microwaved food is disappointing enough without being pressured to spend even more. Even though we only ordered a Coke initially, and have only done that once before, we were still spending money. As regular customers who come here often, you would think that would be appreciated rather than criticized. Be thankful people are still choosing to spend money at your business. Honestly, after today's experience, it's no wonder this place is often empty. Customer service and hospitality matter, and making customers feel unwelcome, guilty, or pressured to spend more is a great way to drive them away. The interaction was uncomfortable enough that I asked for my food to be packed to go and left. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. It's a cafe, not a 5 star restaurant. People want to come here to work on assignments or have a coffee and talk. Even though I didn't want to spend 9 dollars on a coffee, I still purchased something. Edit from her Google response: Now you guys see what type of owner she is by her response. Truly, truly a fake person, and we always spend money coming here (now she wants to lie and manipulate since I have her attention). I always purchase a coffee and more, and I have receipts to prove it. I do not use her WiFi for free, as I am not a rude person unlike her. I don't just order a soda like this owner claims; see my receipts on my credit card. My friend and I ordered drinks and were talking and doing assignments for about half an hour (while she and her waiter came up to us like 10 times to ask us to order, even though this is a cafe), even though we said we would order later. If you're broke, just say so, lady. Trust me, at this rate, this place will close down soon. Like I said, this is a cafe where people come to have a drink, relax, talk, study, or work on assignments; not a restaurant where customers are expected to order a full meal every time they sit down. We purchased drinks, planned to order more later, and were still repeatedly approached and pressured to order. Please do yourself a favor and stop lying to the public. I did not come here four times and just use the WiFi. I paid for the WiFi with my extremely expensive and disgusting coffee and food, which is shown below in the receipts. I did not buy $2 sodas every time. The receipts I attached are from my card, but on many of the other visits my friend paid with his card and spent just as much. So trying to claim that we were sitting here for free or only ordering a soda is simply not true. Now that I have proved you wrong in front of the public, I hope everyone sees you for who you are. You are a money-hungry liar! Lastly, you are right; you're not Starbucks. Starbucks would not treat customers that way, and I'd much rather spend my money at Starbucks anyway.Glad we're on the same page!

They still have indoor and outdoor seating. Near open on a weekend, they were not very busy and it was quiet like on our last visit. The lady who took care of us sad that she is the sister of the owners. She was super nice and very attentive. We got the quiche Lorraine and a banana-Nutella crepe again. The crepe had consistently good quality compared to our last visit and is still just as good to comparable crepe places. Still not many places make quiche and of those that do, even fewer make the dense and thick slice pie style MCC makes--which is the good and high quality type. The quiche was actually better than our last visit and while we do not know, it still seeks like they make it on site. You still need lactaide to eat if u r intolerant, but it's definitely worth it. Recommend you get fruit instead of salad with it. Since their food is so rich/caloric/comfort food, we cannot come here too often, but when you are in the mood for a treat, this is a great place to go! Definitely recommend to give them a try!

The place is cozy and has the old bistro vibe with both indoor / outdoor seating. Price is on the higher end, but the quality and portion size substantiate the price. Then, for the not so great and why I cannot give 5 stars; We mainly went there because of a Restaurant.com certificate that we acquired last week. Great time to try a new place we had not been to, right ? Well, as we sat down I presented the certificate to the waitress and she looked baffled. I said "Is there a problem?" She replied, yes, we have not accepted these for many years, we don't advertise on Restaurant.com anymore. I told her, that I just got he certificate last week and clearly they were still on their website and selling certificates. She said she would need to call the owner to clarify. I said great, go ahead, but we would like to order first because we wanted to have dinner anyway. In the end, they said NO, they cannot accept it as they have not done business with Restaurant.com in many years. I said ok, no problem. Now, I would have given 5 stars and actually make plans for another trip there real soon.....if they would have accepted the certificate anyway, as I'm a new customer and you would want to retain me as an ongoing one. That is how business should be done, if you cared about keeping your customers. I would have understood if moving forward, they told me that they would not be accepting these anymore, but at the very least, make me aware and accept the one I had brought tonight. The certificate being legitimate, they could have easily checked with Restaurant.com by calling their toll free number to validate it. These are the little things that make or break the feeling the customer gets from your business. Do you care if I come back....or maybe not. Lastly, not sure if you can afford not having a customer come back, but judging by what we saw on a Friday evening at 7pm, we were able to call ahead and get a table right away. When we arrived, there were only 2 customers sitting indoors and 4 customers sitting outdoors. Does not seem to be a busy Friday night here. Management needs to take a bigger interest in the decision making when it comes to a few dollars. I could be coming back again and again and spending way more. After all, it's just my 2 cents.

With a variety of sweet and savory items on their menu, I was excited to drop by and give them a try. Walking up to the counter, they had kiosks to order which freed up the staff to focus on making the crepes. And looking at the menu, there were many different options ranging from strawberry to dubai chocolate and oreo. For this visit, I decided on the fuji caramel apple which was about ~$10 at the time of this review. There were many people inside the place at the time, so the crepe took 5-10 minutes to prepare. I was about to receive my crepe and the staff working the counter were about to pass it off. But unfortunately, it was dropped behind the counter and another 5-10 minutes was spent making a second one! As a snack item it was overall pretty decent in size. From the outside, it seemed like there was a decent amount of food in it. But upon closer look, it was more apparent that the crepe was mostly....thin crepe. While the interior had caramelized apples and some raisins, they were only present in one thin layer of the actual crepe. Because of this, the quantity of what you're getting could be argued as somewhat steep. The ratio of crepe to ingredients also greatly altered the taste of the crepe itself. The apples inside had a good balance of cinnamon and sweet apple to it. And adding in the raisins gave a good sugary mix that the crepe definitely needed. But otherwise, I would have liked a tad more sugar in the crepe itself. Because this particular order relied on the apple to give the sweetness, the crepe itself was mostly flavorless. This was somewhat of a let down because the crepe coating had a nice browning built up on the exterior. Adding just a bit of powdered sugar would have made a great difference! I'll give the benefit of the doubt that the staff were in a rush to make the second crepe due to dropping the first. And this could be the reason the ratio of ingredients was so polar. But otherwise, the place itself was small, cute, and well decorated. Because of the attention to detail with the decor, I'd push the rating from a 3 star to a 4 star. But otherwise, I'd probably give another crepe a try the next time I stop by.

Cons: Logistics - the wait was a solid 25 mins which is a bit frustrating when there's a window to show you their work. The moment the girl was taken away from her duties (either personal phone call or taking an order), the backlog was unbearable to watch. That meant one guy working to do the crepe, the filling, and distributing. The other guy was cleaning up the canopy, bench, and preparing for closing. And the moment the single guy doing the orders ran out of a certain cream, he had to walk over to the fridge and back to continue working. Food- there was nothing special about any of the filling. Their money maker is their quality of crepe. So keep that in mind. I personally think the cream was what gave me a stomach ache after. I got a bit of everything inside and my favorite was when I hit the icecream. Next time if I go back, I'll stick to only ice-cream inside!
