Really fabulous food. Ambiance is a bit cold, like actually and literally, with AC blasting and a silver interior, but the waitstaff is friendly and food came out quickly. Their gluten-free toast is excellent. I will definitely go back. I had trouble once again, however, with basic communication and it certainly wasn't on my end. I wanted the breakfast taco special but asked for a side of gluten-free toast instead of the corn tortillas as it was described (I don't like corn tortillas). I was told they "aren't allowed to make modifications," which actually makes no sense. First of all, you're basically telling the customer they can't have the simple and sensible modification they're asking for and that's not OK. So, knowing how people in this part of the country are with understanding things, I said fine and asked to just make it without the tortillas... because apparently asking for a side of toast was too much information to put together. Well, that was confusing too. Not surprised. So, finally I just ordered the darn dish exactly as it was described and said, "OK, I will just scrape the eggs off the tortillas." Meaning HELLO, you're making the customer work to do something easy you seem to not be able to do. Eventually, another person came over (the manager?) and suggested they turn the breakfast taco special into a sandwich with gluten-free toast. I was dumbfounded. I've been in Illinois for 11 years (married) and people out here are just very slow to put information together. I don't get it and it's actually pretty alarming. So, anyway, the manager (?) finally suggested that they "could just make it without tortillas and bring me a side of toast." I was like YEP. That is exactly how I ordered it the first time. I tend to run hot and this has been a pretty hot summer so I'm very appreciative of a place with ac. This place was more like a meat locker even I was freezing. With that out of the way the food wasn't bad, I had the Oreo pancakes and the down home skillet. The pancakes were ok I've had better Oreo pancakes from different places, but the skillet was very good. It was sausage, onions, scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese smothered in biscuit gravy. I've remembered when this place was being built and years of driving past, I've finally got around to checking it out. So my boyfriend and I grabbed breakfast, but did take out. The food was delicious and amazing. The meat lovers omelette is the best! My boyfriend had the French toast with bananas that he enjoyed. I had the cheese crepes. Stacks Pancake House - Crestwood Terrible first (and last) experience. The greeter at the door was rude from the moment we arrived. She tried to convince us not to stay once we said our party was 20, refused to put tables together, said gratuity would be added, and spoke to us with a loud, condescending tone the entire time. Even when we told her we didn't mind waiting, she wanted to split us between the front and back of the restaurant. Asking for a manager didn't help. When we finally got seated, the problems continued. My daughter's apple juice was watered down, and the server admitted the machine sometimes "just gives water." My eggs came out cold, the corned beef hash was burnt, and the pancakes weren't cooked through. I honestly believe my food was served this way because I asked for the manager. The waitress was nice, but overall service and food were terrible. The sign that says "We think our staff is awesome" is misleading -- they don't know how to treat customers. I won't be back. Even with one person, I'd rather go to Cracker Barrel for better food and friendlier service. read more

First of all - this is a breakfast/lunch place - they are not open past around 2pm or so - check the hours to be sure. Service was fantastic - our wait person was great and attentive. He checked on us periodically, brought us refills on drinks & was attentive to our needs the entire time. The food is a bit overpriced in my opinion for the amount you receive, but it is solid, decent quality. I had the Eggs Benedict and the ham was THICK and AWESOME, the English Muffin was a little soggy, could have been toasted longer, and I could have used additional hollandaise sauce. The hash browns were also decent. You could swap it out for red potatoes if you wanted. The tables are close, but there is enough room for a large party to be seated comfortably. The restaurant is on a corner and is mostly shaped like a large "L" inside. Otherwise, I would go back and try something new next time. Well as always the staff was great. The atmosphere is great, restaurant is clean restroom too. The prices are a little higher but that's everywhere. Stacked was once 3rd in our top 5. Now I say 7 out of 10. My cheese wasn't melted and the peppers and onions were just thrown on top of my potatoes. The portions where still nice but overall the food was lukewarm. Food is good quality - but online/delivery ordering is an issue. Ordered a skillet and got Zero potatoes. When I called to tell them, they said well you didn't pick potatoes, its a side. I said no it isn't - I've ordered several times in the past. There's a problem with the app. No you have to pick your side. I just paid $45 to have the meal delivered and you want me to come in to get the potatoes? I said can you credit my account for next time we are in? We won't give you a free meal. The potatoes are the base of the skillet. When you leave out the potatoes of a skillet make it right. Don't argue with the customer. When you call back Apologize. Start there. Common sense: if you keep getting the same complaint stop telling the customer they are doing something wrong. Then Apologize and make it right. When tables cleared, we STILL waited- told that there was no clean silverware...except the cleared tables had already been reset with clean silverware... Let's just say service was not stellar today- maybe the staff had been slammed earlier on this Saturday during a holiday weekend and they were tired. Unsure. The food was great and plentiful. Generous portions, reasonable prices. Fluffy buttermilk pancakes. I had a veggie omelet that was filled with fresh vegetables. Service was fine, the wait was no more than 15-20 minutes (which isn't too bad for the time of day). Brunch Burger: bacon, fried egg, hash browns (I got on the side cuz on the burger would be weird,) choice of cheese (I got pepper Jack because next ingredient...) pepper jelly on ciabatta. Sounds great and is why I went. The burger was medium rare as requested, but egg was fully cooked; I've never had this Chicago thing before but I believe the point is to have runny yolk to add richness to the burger. Needed more pepper jelly but server didn't stop by until way too late. Lovely huge slice of the reddest tomato I've seen this year. Came with another choice of potatoes so got fries; obviously fresh cut but totally undercooked, even raw in the middle, greasy, inedible. At least the hash browns to take home were almost as burnt as I asked but I should have asked for fruit or something. Cold slaw was just average, nothing special. Decent price for the service size.
