Julio took care of me, and he was an exceptional brand ambassador for High West. He was extremely knowledgeable about the different offerings and took the time to answer all of my questions with genuine patience and enthusiasm. Since this was my first visit, I really appreciated the level of service and attention he provided. The drinks were exceptional, and Julio's recommendations were just as impressive. His knowledge of the whiskey and the different offerings really added to the experience. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Great drinks, great atmosphere, and exceptional service. I'll absolutely be back!

There were three shuttles running the Sunday we went, and our group of six had made reservations beforehand (highly recommend doing that!). The ride up is worth the trip alone -- super scenic, and our shuttle driver was fantastic. He shared a ton of info about how everything works and how long they've been in business, which kicked the whole experience off on the right foot. Once you're up top, there's a distillery and a restaurant. We headed to the restaurant side for brunch, and while it's a smaller buffet, the food was absolutely incredible -- every single thing was top-notch. The shrimp might've been the biggest I've ever seen at a buffet! They also had brisket, eggs Benedict, fresh fruit, and a whole spread of desserts -- and that's just the stuff I couldn't stop raving about. Best part? We never felt rushed for a second. The staff were super patient and genuinely let us relax and catch up, which was exactly what our group of friends came for. It's a bit pricier than your average spot, but for the experience and the food, I'd do it again in a heartbeat -- this is a special-occasion kind of place. Next time, I'm determined to do a distillery tour! Our group was big and they were fully booked for the rest of the day, so we missed out this round -- but that just gives me a reason to come back.

What was really cool is I left with a whole new appreciation for gin! The tour was great. I wish I could remember our guide's name because he was awesome. He explained everything in a way that kept it interesting and never felt like a boring history lesson. Learning about Utah's alcohol history all the way through the 2002 Olympics was something I wasn't expecting. They also shared how Brigham Young enjoyed whiskey, shut down other distilleries while allowing his own to continue operating, and that it was later described as being for "medicinal purposes." Learn something new everyday! Oh,'I was also there for "medicinal purposes" It was also really cool to learn how they distill and blend their whiskey and hear the story behind the brand. ( no spoilers here) I even found out I've been drinking whiskey all wrong!! The price was not bad, especially since the tasting is included. Some of the other distilleries in the area charge extra for that, so I thought it was well worth it. They also have a restaurant that serves brunch, we went on a Sunday. We didn't eat there this time, but we'll definitely be stopping in the next time we're in Park City. Overall, this was just a really fun experience. The places was beautiful! It doesn't take up your whole day, but it's enough to feel like you got out and did something. If you're in Park City with friends, or you're able to sneak away from the kids for a couple of hours, I'd definitely recommend adding this to your trip.

Trivia: Pappy is special because of its wheat and extended aging process and limited selection…read more What is Pappy? At Whiskey Street, I had two issues: I ordered a salad and it never arrived. My wagyu steak came out and I was irritated that the salad hadn't come first. But then the salad didn't come at all. Bummer. And the steak was questions all around. First they didn't know what cut of steak it was. "It's Wagyu" they said, as if all that mattered was where it came from. And just to make sure I wasn't an idiot, I looked up to make sure that Wagyu, like other beef, had various cuts. And the meal was rather salty. And the steak was far closer to rare than medium. And it was served au poivre style, which I would have like to have known. Service was excellent. The Scottish Old-Fashioned excellent. The libation selection is unparalleled. The bar seats have a weird spring to backing so it's more like sitting on a stool with a slight back brace.

White Horse in Downtown SLC was the classiest dinner of our trip and kind of a splurge. Worth…read moretrying! While I wouldn't describe White Horse as expensive, it does give upscale bar vibes with upscale pub food. The interior vibes are very hipster, packed with tables, including a few communal ones. The bar is. sight to see, with bottles towering to the ceiling. This is a 21+ restaurant, so be aware if dining with kids. I absolutely loved that they had NA beer on tap. Stoked to order my first on-draft NA IPA. Yum! We ordered the French dip and the steak sandwich. Both sandwiches came with fries, and both were fantastic. Neither was unbelievable or groundbreaking, but very solid renditions of each dish. I loved the pickles served with each dish. The fries were good but a tad salty. The service was good. Food came fast; the server checked in on us often. White Horse is located on a street with several other great restaurants, all highly rated on Yelp. While some are a bit more expensive, there is a lot of overlap between White Horse and some of these other great restaurants. It's a challenging block to make a choice! White Horse is a fun, intimate restaurant that is great for drinks, and I'd imagine they don't really have a bad dish on the menu. I would recommend it for a nicer spot to dine in downtown SLC.

It's a great date night spot if you're looking for something a little different in downtown Salt Lake City. The drinks were solid. I completely forget the name of mine, but they served it on a plate with a little incense stick burning next to it, which was a pretty cool presentation. We also tried the olive and date appetizer, which came with three skewers of olives stuffed with almonds and a date at the end, all wrapped in bacon. It was pretty tasty, although at around $15 I'd probably think twice about ordering it again lol. Prices are definitely a little on the higher side, but you're also paying for the atmosphere and live music. We had a really good time just hanging out here and enjoying the evening.

We payed several hundred dollars to enjoy our dining experience here, but I think the most shocking part of our night was the coed restroom. Often women go retreat to their designated restroom space to escape men, here they can be followed in by them. Both from a safety standpoint and a bathroom etiquette and cleanliness standpoint, I did not appreciate this feature at all. The separate restrooms that used to exist here were altered to be one space. For this price, and much less, I expect a ladies room.
