However, we quickly realized that our wood was majorly infested with banded ash borers. Our project took much longer to complete because we had to fumigate the wood, put it under high heat in an oven, and then use dremel tools and compressed air to pull out the rest after all the bugs have presumably died. All while being very careful to put any remains in a bag outside so that other wood in the workshop wouldn't also get infested. We called the shop to let them know and they said that they were surprised and that was uncommon for them. I probably won't be coming back, but I'd recommend that folks at least ask about infestations and take a good inspection of their slab before buying.

They even managed to make one counter turn a big corner all in a single beautiful, streaky piece. The only hiccup on installation day was when WE forgot (they had told us twice) that we needed to have a plumber on hand to install the new sinks and faucets. We couldn't be more pleased with the company's helpfulness, professionalism and creativity. We will be visiting them at their new location (only 15 minutes away from the Main Street address) to look for another lovely slab of stone for a bathroom counter.

The two men they sent were very kind and professional. They were very quick and did great work. They added extra support and got the counter top very secure in no time. They explained very clearly what we needed to do for the next 12 hours to make sure everything dries correctly and left information on caring for granite counter tops as well as suggestions for sealants to protect the granite. As of this moment, Home Depot Thornton is literally keeping my money and not delivering the product, and I cannot get any help from them. The Home Depot team, namely Roberta, is simply too unorganized to even be able to process my full refund or return my calls. This has been incredibly frustrating. I ordered and prepaid $450 for a security door at the Thornton Home Depot 5 days ago. First of all, after someone came and took the measurements I had ZERO response so I went to the store in person. I ordered a door from Larry, the door guy there, and prepaid over $450 for the door and install. Turns out the door would NOT have fit my door anyways, but no one called to tell me that. AFTER I PAID I HAD ZERO CONTACT for my door. I called to get a refund. I am still waiting for it to show up in my account, and yet Home Depot still did not refund over $250 for the installation charge. I called and FINALLY got a hold of COS Roberta. She refunded only the door, not the install. So, I called back and left a voicemail. ZERO response from Roberta. I now am going in today to see if I can get my money back. What an absolute CLUSTER. I will NEVER shop here again and I DO NOT RECOMMEND THORNTON HOME DEPOT. The staff is friendly but no one takes responsibility for any of this order purchase and I cannot even get my money back for a product they could not install (and never bothered to tell me they could not install) in the first place.
