CS Organic White - sink cutout
    Ashley P.

I still have some finishing touches (paint, tile, DW panel) to do in my kitchen, but I didn't want to put off writing a review for ASF any longer. I strongly recommend ASF to anyone with high standards like mine. I was extremely pleased with the customer service and responsiveness I received from this company - especially from Angie Whitten and Steve Hackbarth, the two staff that I worked with - and I was also pleased with the actual fabrication. When I found ASF, I had already narrowed down the engineered quartz selection to two choices - one was Caesarstone and one was Silestone. Angie provided pricing for both and eventually I made my final selection (Caesarstone Organic White). She politely revised the estimate for me several times to take into account various decisions (for example, I decided I wanted to use 2cm quartz with a 1.5" thick mitered edge, and I decided I wanted a quartz backsplash and window sill on one side of the kitchen). One side of my kitchen needed a typical L-shaped countertop, while the other side of my kitchen has a dining "peninsula" which needed a large piece of quartz that rests partially on cabinets and partially on a 33" x 58" steel frame (built by others). As an architect, it was important to me that the details come together near-perfectly. Along the L-shaped counter, it was important that the quartz be scribed closely to the walls, as my walls are not plumb and I needed the counter to conceal various gaps here and there (this was a remodel, not new construction). At the dining counter, three sides of the counter would be exposed edges, and I wanted each edge to be spaced the same distance from the steel frame - so that it was as crafted as a piece of furniture. Since the underside of this peninsula would be visible, the substrate needed to be nice-looking, too (not your typical plywood). And, ASF and their installer were willing to install the special heating mat I bought which needed to be sandwiched between the quartz and the substrate at the time of installation. Last but not least, I bought a large rectangular sink with 1/2" radius corners that was a tight fit for my sink cabinet - not only that, but I wanted a flush cut-out (meaning, I wanted the cut-out to match the edges of the sink perfectly). Yes, I'm a picky customer! Steve did a great job templating the counters and they were scribed closely to my walls. The sink cut-out is spot on. The dining counter came out beautifully, too! Looking back, the only thing I would slightly improve would be the installation. The two installers were nice and polite and, while they did speak fairly good English, I had a hard time communicating my more nuanced concerns. That added some stress to installation day. ASF was great to work with and I recommend them!

I just had a quartz countertop installed a couple of weeks ago by ASF and it turned out great! Very good process. Jennifer was very helpful and friendly and the installation went without a hitch. I am very happy with the end product and the process! Backsplash tile setting was done by Rich Garlock, GC and they did a great job at a reasonable price!

It used to be a reliable place to get any type of building supplies at decent used quality for a "this has definitely been used" price. Now it's wildly overpriced. This review is almost more for me to remember to stop driving down to Boulder to try shopping here. Example: selling the 15gal barrels they receive their deicing salt in for winter - for $15. Barrels seem to be priced at $1/gal now, even when they're deformed or broken. So expect to pay $5 for a 5-gal bucket, $35 for a 35gal can and $50 for a 55gal. Saw $45 for a utility sink made of the same cheap plastic as Walmart Adirondack chairs - not the older, indestructible molded utility sink type. Bent and broken rakes and shovels for $5-20. It's just wild. Pieces of pallets are priced as though they're new stock lumber, and they don't even list the lumber prices anymore (were they to have any, which they didn't)... with the way everything else is priced, there's no way I'll even bother checking. At this point it's cheaper and more reliable to buy new from Home Depot which is beside the point of this place and it sucks!! The quality of used goods did not improve in the past 2 years, so why the price tripled is beyond me, but it's not worth it. Bye, Resource Central. I really loved you while you were affordable. Thankfully Habitat ReStore still has their head on straight.
