I noticed there are 26 reviews, but not a single photograph, so I thought I would correct this oversight. This place has an ample parking lot and it always seems almost full because so many people like to come here. They do take donations which can be dropped off behind the store. Like most thrift stores, there's a lot of clothing dominating the floor space, but there's plenty of hard goods to be found around the perimeter. In the back corner of the store, you'll find furniture and lots of clean mattresses along with seven fitting rooms. At the front of the store is a very good selection of books, CDs, and DVDs. It's got everything you would expect to find at a thrift store and the restrooms do not require a key. All the jewelry and high dollar items are in the glass cases at the checkout. I did notice that much of the clothing is priced higher than your average Goodwill. There's a 10% discount for seniors over 60 on Mondays and Tuesdays. 10 informative photos to get you through the door. read more

I like that they not only sell the donated items they also give away clothing to the very needy and to kids who are headed back to school who may not have the resources to have a few new outfits to start the year. They also have "dig and save"where folks on an extreme budget can ( with some willingness to "dig" )find very respectable items and sometimes treasures for a nominal amount per pound. They have helped furnish apartments when homeless families with children are placed into their new residences. They are a agency with a heart and truly personify their mission in many ways. They also have a mens shelter, a pharmacy program and a food pantry. Though they are affiliated with the Catholic Church they in no way Impose that in their charitable work read more

I purchased a couch from there and asked that it be delivered because I couldn't fit it in my car. When I asked the person helping me if they would deliver it to the door of my apartment in an apartment building with an elevator, the helper, who was new, was very diligent about checking on this and other information with a more experienced person, and they told her yes. I figured that was worth the extra $40 on top of a $46 couch. But when the truck delivered the couch, they told me that they could only take it to door of my building but offered to take it to the elevator. That was very little skin off their back--I could have pushed it across the floor of the lobby in less than 20 seconds. How in the heck could that effort be worth $40??? And it was a real struggle to get it into the elevator by myself and it took me about 15 minutes just to get it inside. I finally got it upstairs, and it took another ten minutes to get it out the elevator, across a carpeted floor, and through the door into my apartment. What was worse was that within a couple of days of starting to use it, my skin began to itch. I was puzzled by this, until I remember when I let one side of the couch gently fall to the ground, a cloud of dust came up. The couch didn't look dirty at all, but apparently it was. I am allergic to dust. I wrote a compliant email to SVDP about the miscommunication of the delivery and the dirtiness of the couch. I said that the new person helping me was diligent about checking with more experienced people to make sure she was doing her job right, but that obviously there was a communication breakdown between the drivers and store personnel since she had been given misinformation. I also asked if they cleaned the furniture donated to them before selling it. The manager of the store wrote back. She actually tried to blame the new person helping me for the miscommunication even though I'd said in the email that this person was diligent about make sure she was doing things correctly. The manager also acknowledged that THEY DO NOT WASH THE FURNITURE DONATED TO THEM in any way. Today I tried to take the covers off the cushions and wash them, but when it was also said and done, I continue to itch when I sit on the couch and my asthma begins to kick in. I am going to have to get rid of the couch and invest in a new one, since I clearly can't trust what I get at St. Vinny's. I wasted $86 on this effort, and I'm never buying furniture there again. One of the best thrift stores in the area! From one week to another (probably depending on who is manager), prices go all the way up for no reason. I have found amazing pieces, such as 2 atomic mid-century tables or a 1930s tiger oak dresser for $20, impeccable Ked's or Vans sneakers, vintage blouses for $5-6. They have amazing themed events when they break out out-of-this-world vintage curiosities, or designer clothing, but unfortunately, prices go up exponentially but with no apparent logic: $225 for scuffed designer sandals, but $20 for a very rare 90-year-old Pyrex dish. This is the store where you'll find amazing deals on super original finds, but sometimes you'll go home empty-handed wondering what's going on there. Another one of my favorite St. Vinney's. Spread out a bit more than some others, therefore the shop-ability is smoother and less strain on the eyes. Clean and organized. Always something new and fun. Staff is not very engaging, save one guy. I've been to about every thrift shop in the area multiple times and this is one I try to hit whenever I'm in the Odana Road area. read more

This is a large St. Vinny's location and it was clean and well organized. The women's clothing section is huge - women's items vastly outnumber the men's. Unfortunately, a lot of the women's clothing leaves a lot to be desired. There were a lot of items that were faded, stretched out, and out of season (so many heavy sweaters for a nearly 80 degree day). The pricing was also a little crazy - $7 for a faded Target t-shirt is a bit much. They had a pair of crazy heel-less high heels for $12.75, but large parts of the color was worn away. I get that they're different, but who's going to pay $13 for damaged shoes? There's a decently sized furniture area, but I barely looked after seeing that the couch on display was covered in pet hair - gross. I'd expect that before putting it out on the floor it'd get vacuumed or lint-rolled but apparently not. There was a good find of a $25 foosball table, but that was probably the best random item in the shop. I thought its westside location would yield some good finds with the area's bougie reputation, but it actually had some of the lowest quality brands/selection that I've encountered in my recent thrifting uptick. read more

I swear thrift stores have all lost their damned minds in terms of pricing. . Tonight I looked at a pair of Tory Burch Rain/riding boots at the Odana Road location. They were in fair condition at the very best . The wool felt had seen better days and the "fabricated leather"( description in shaft of boot) aka pleather trim was heavily creased and scuffed for$120.95!!! Some people shop thrift stores to reduce and reuse. Some shop thrift out of necessity. Asking half of the MSRP is ridiculous. Then you wonder why no one buys it and it ends up at your dig and save. St. Vincent's isn't a bougie boutique. read more

Thrift stores are great lessons about delayed/instant gratification. You have to search and wait for things you want. Then there are days that you walk past and a-ha! you realize you needed something after all, like the flashlight for 60 cents or the soap dish for 40 cents. St. Vinny's compared to Savers and Goodwill, is cheaper on housewares, 25 cents for mugs and 60 cents for bowls--albeit not them fancy, scalloped china plates. Furniture is iffy, but there are some gems at times. I found a beautiful antique secretary's desk for $40 last summer. Staff are friendly and there's one that does math in her head when she checks you out. Smart too! Love this place for its proximity. I go weekly and have a madness to how to go about the place. One of my favorite thrift stores in the Madison area! I've found some great pieces at this location like Vineyard Vines, Anthropologie, and great kids brands. Prices are a little higher but the quality is good. Definitely stop in to check this store out! read more

I am a thrift store shop-aholic. I love the thrill of finding some rad clothes at killer prices. Although this place had some really nice women's clothes, I didn't think the prices were that good. $10-$12+ for dresses ? $6-$9 for tops? Depending on the name brand, each shirt or dress was priced differently. I do not care for this type of pricing. Small selection of housewares, some furniture. There was a sign that stated the place was voted Madison's favorite place for vintage clothes? WTH? Maybe after the award, all the vintage got bought out...sorry. May stop again when I am nearby but won't make a special effort to go out of my way. On a positive note: staff was very friendly. The store was clean and very organized. read more

Great selection of bags/purses and jeans, and lots of interesting housewares. I found an out of print book I'd been talking about for weeks. Clean and large store with a lot of well-organized merchandise and nice fitting rooms in the center. If I weren't from out of state I would be sure to check out their furniture as well as several items looked promising. read more

All ways clean and organized well. Seems the prices have give up noticeable in the past few months. Other St.Vincent's in the state are much more reasonably priced. I would pick up well worn in clothing they wanted 20 even 30 dollars for. Kinda weird, go to the one in Baraboo. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. The prices are getting RIDICULOUS. They had a dresser priced at $160 that was falling apart and missing half of it's hardware. There was a 1970's table priced at $85 that had a corner missing! This is a thrift store, with that pricing you could buy new at IKEA. read more

I haven't been into this store since it went through it's renovation. The new look is great. Pretty organized store now. It seems cleaner and much larger now. The prices seems high for the quality of the clothing items though. They need to lower the prices a little bit overall. There were quite a few non-name brand items that were really overpriced. There were quite a few clothing items with stains, tears, missing buttons, etc. Carefully inspect your items before purchase. There was quite a line checking out, so I was a little apprehensive in asking for help when looking at jewelry in their display case. Most of the furniture electronics looked pretty beat up. They did have a nice selection of household items at OK prices. I wish I needed something in that area. There was a very large selection of women's clothing, but not much for men. read more

Oh, St. Vinnie's. You let me down. Having been to many a thrift store as well as a bunch of antique shops/malls in the past week on my china plate mission, I literally laughed out loud while at this SVdP location. The prices were absurd! Now, I'm willing to pay a little more for something really nice. But when SVdP is asking more for china plates than the same style/design (in better condition) at an antique store, something is wrong. And this wasn't just one set or design. All the pricing amongst the dinnerware was bizarrely high. No purchase from me! read more

Just visited today. They make it really easy to donate and also provide receipt slips for donation tax stuff. The donation port is in the back. You can just pull into the port and then put your donations into the bin. From what I remember, they really do have a lot of good stuff. I got a lot of my stuff from St Vincent's when I needed temporary kitchen ware for college. The selection and sales space can be very hectic and packed, but i don't mind it. read more

Love this place! Stylish clothes in great condition, for decent prices. Tons of finds in every size, lots to dig through. Prices were higher than I expected, but what they had was nicer than I expected and there was more of it. I found a Christian Dior shirt for $9!! Crazy. Less for kids here than adults, but I did find a few things for my kids. Mostly, I found a ton of new work shirts, and I didn't go broke. I definitely recommend it, and will be coming here again, with family and friends in tow. read more

I have stopped at this store several times when passing through or visiting relatives. I look mainly in the housewares section and the prices are insanely out-of-this-world high. My most recent trip was about 10 days ago. No change from previous visits. The staff apparently thinks everything donated to them is made of solid gold and is priced accordingly. Pitcher? $34. Salt and pepper set? $15. Small glass rabbit? $25. Vase? $34.50. Relish dish? $15. and on and on it went. I started turning over many of the pieces just to see if there was ANYTHING that would be considered a real thrift store price. I finally found a few saucers and small plates that were a dollar or less, but they were truly in the minority. Who do they think their market is? I also tried to get some help from the staff and the manager on duty (Ben) was woefully unhelpful. I can't speak to the clothes or furniture since I don't look at those, but if you're looking for housewares, you will save a lot of money shopping elsewhere. read more
