I had a run in with the owners today. I had not been back since my previous review. During our…read morevisit I was approached by one of the owners and confronted about my review and I restated, without apology, my previous review. They were rude to my young son. I did not appreciate it. The owners proceeded to insult me in a passive aggressive way. "People see your review and comment to me how rude you are because everyone loves us" " What a bad person you must be" " Look in the mirror (I'm overweight) and consider the source" I had told them that I didn't want to argue but they didn't back off. We left with out our two purchases because "We don't need your pennies" I have an extensive history of successful retail management, 25 years, and was shocked by them. Here are some simple lessons: - The customers perception is reality. A simple discussion and apology would have prompted me to change my review. - Never argue with a customer. Let it go. Live and let live. I feel sorry for them and will include them in my prayers.... They do have a wonderful shop full of good stuff at nice prices. Merchandise 5 stars Emotional maturity 0 stars.

A pretty standard antique and collectibles shop. As a kid I was a total weirdo and loved poring over the items that were older than my grandparents, lusting over the wrought-iron school desk that somehow never sold, wondering who wore the leather spats and pearl-buttoned dresses, marveling at the craftsmanship of hand-painted signs and hand-carved wood. As an adult, many of the items I've found at places like Cameo seem too modern, too junky, too common. Aside from the merchandise, the building was freezing. The book room has a large fan that feels like it's blowing air conditioning even though it's the middle of November, and the basement suffered from a similar breeze coming from a (de?)-humidifier. With a coat I was still cold - if I hadn't been waiting on my gent I'd have bolted much quicker. If you have something in mind to buy, this could be the place for you, but as someone just out to browse, it didn't take me to the same magical place the antique stores of my childhood did.

I highly recommend checking out their website to see current items in the store, they have a lot of nice pictures showcasing what's currently in stock and it's great they seem to update it regularly. Prices (but not dimensions) are also listed on the website so it's nice to be able to check out the items before you drive in to visit. Per a blog post on their website, it seems the consignment portion of their shop will be ending in 2018 to be replaced by monthly vendors - they describe it as an effort to showcase local artisans and think of it as "Etsy in real life". So that hasn't started yet but could also be neat to check out mid-spring. All in all, it's worth stopping by because they certainly have taste for nice items. You could get anything here from a wall-hanging gift for a friend to a custom painted unique dresser.
