I loved St. Thomas Roasters. As soon as you walk through the door, you're hit with that rich, comforting coffee smell that instantly sets the tone. Right when you walk in, there's a case full of baked goods, including some gluten-free options, which I always appreciate. Everything I've tried from the bakery has been delicious. On this visit, I ordered a lavender Italian soda and a lavender vanilla latte, both were so good, with just the right balance of flavor. The staff is friendly and helpful, and everything came out quickly. There's some street parking available, plus a parking lot on the side, which makes it easy to stop in. The space itself leans more on the older side rather than modern, but it adds to the charm and gives off a cozy, historic feel that fits the area perfectly. They also have a bathroom available, which is always a plus. Seating is abundant. Inside (small amount) , on the deck and front of the shop, outside seating to the that is enclosed (temperature controlled) Overall, it's a great little coffee shop on Linglestown Rd and definitely worth checking out if you haven't been yet. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed visiting St Thomas Roasters. I had a coworker refer it to me! It's a cute place that has indoor and outdoor seating. With plenty of options to choose from! This place is cute and if you come at the right time, it can be peaceful. They do get busy and I room to sit. Coming early or later in the day is perfect. I had an odd experience this time, I got a coffee and the quiche (which has gotten a few times before). But it was not fluffy, it was actually quite hard. I returned it, which is something I NEVER do. I got a different dish. The staff was very nice and understanding. I was very uncomfortable confronting them but they were so polite and made me feel comfortable. I will return despite this small error. read more

I hold Saint Thomas very near and dear to my heart. It's incredibly cozy and small (which can sometimes be a navigational problem lol), the coffee is consistently great and all the pastries are awesome! All the baristas are incredibly sweet and it's a cool little nugget of Linglestown history with all the little pictures and stuff about the shop. I have many a great memory here and it's a great little after church spot on a Sunday or a morning coffee run or something. If you haven't been, you best lace up your boots and get there asap. read more

Popped in on a late Wednesday morning for the first time a couple weeks ago. It was decently busy. Staff were clearly frustrated and trying to keep up, but personally their attitudes could have been better. I felt rushed through and somewhat ignored. Ordered a feta croissant which was good and an iced latte. Ended up staying long enough to order a second coffee and staff were much friendlier then, even when I messed up my order. The outside patio was nice to sit in, until the fall chill came through. It was very cozy inside, but seating was scarce. read more

The feel is a bit of a cross between a living room from a 70s TV show and a corner diner, which is to say warm and comfortable in a way that feels both familiar and timeless. In addition to purchasing their in house roasted coffee, STR offers a variety of hot and cold coffee beverages, customized to your liking. The price for specialty coffees is also significantly less than the chain shops. To accompany your drink, multiple snack/breakfast items are available from quiche and muffins to sandwiches and stuffed croissants. Absolutely not I do not recommend ever going here when me and my best friend's mom walked in. We were not greeted. We were being talked over. We were standing there for 2 to 5 minutes without someone even taking our order or greeting us then we were being made faces that by the workers When other people walked in, they were greeted Right away we came back to the house, and the food was wrong. The staff woman working the counter was not very nice and had an extremely limited knowledge of coffee and couldn't tell me about the notes/flavors of the different coffees. Visited this Coffee shop twice in 2020 & they are taking safety precautions for covid. Nice outdoor seating area, orders are made through the window. The first visit, I ordered an Iced Mocha and the employee had a bit of an attitude. Not sure why but it wasn't an inviting first experience. The drink came in a cup (pictured) and they said they were out of the clear plastic cups most iced drinks tend to come in. Despite the customer service, the drink itself wasn't bad. Average for a decent coffee shop. The 2nd experience was excellent customer service wise, but the drink itself was amateur. Again, months later, they're still serving iced drinks in cardboard cups which is odd (maybe they don't want to invest in plastic cups?).. first sip was nothing but powdered mocha (yuck!). Definitely a step down in quality the 2nd time around. All in all, I'd truly like to enjoy this place due to location.... but it's just not worth it. Will drive an extra few minutes to visit other local coffee shops for a better result. read more

Best coffee in town. Pam and Geoff have been churning out delicious beans in a historic roaster for decades. I love to sit on the porch with my dog and guitar and get absolutely torqued and zooted on delicious, high quality juice. Refills are only fifty cents! The cocoa dust blend is absolutely delicious, especially with some cream, honey, and maybe a slug of highland Scotch. I didn't say that. Did you? Super popular spot in historic linglestown. I went on a Sunday morning and the place was absolutely packed. They had plenty of seating both indoor and outdoors which was great! I got a regular mocha and chocolate croissant. The mocha is why the place got 3 stars. I've had a lot of mochas especially recently and this was one of the worst ones I've had. Instead of tasting like mocha syrup with espresso and steamed milk, it tasted like watery coffee with mocha sauce and some creamer. I'm not sure if they decided to take a short cut since they were so busy but this drink did not taste like it has any espresso. The size I got for the price was reasonable but the taste was such a disappointment. The chocolate croissant on the other hand was pretty good. They warmed it up for me so the chocolate was nice and melted which is my favorite. The croissant itself was just a little too touch, not as soft and buttery as I would have liked. But overall, I was happy with the croissant. I want to return to try another espresso drink to see if this is the standard to expect. I love the eclectic small town vibe of the decor and it's a great place to meet for some coffee and brunch. read more

stopped in here for a little quick brunch and it's an old school coffee shop very eclectic and dark inside with various seating. The flow is not so great and can seem a bit tight to order however this is a laid back community and they seem to have regulars and they are also seem pretty efficient with getting the orders out. What a nifty place! The 4 star review is for service and variety. I came in on a Thursday morning from 8am-10am and it was about 80% full with about 2-4 empty seats at a time. Family owned and small town charm bundled up into an amazing scent of coffee that runs down the main street of Linglestown. - large selection of beans that they will grind up to your liking AND with sizes under 1lb. I bought a 1/4lb of beans that fit my taste for $4.25 - variety of prepared drinks, drip coffee, AND yummy breakfast. I saw mostly sweets and a few savory things. - I had their sticky bun heated up and it tasted so fresh! Soft and just the right amount of sweet! - I got their drip coffee intending to try a lot of different ones but my time ran out... I tried their toasted almond drip which was really tasty! It had more of a vanilla/creme flavor than almond but I didn't mind. I also tried one of their sumatras and it was low acidity and smooth :) - bathroom is all-gender! -very affordable! Cinnamon bun and medium drip coffee came to $6 Cons: -ambiance is as how others described it. I like a small amount of chatter with the possibility of getting work done, but folks in this place seem to meet up to have boisterous conversation! Great for groups of friends but if I wanted to have a more detailed conversation or just some chill times I wouldn't come here for a long time. Maybe during the day or later at night it's different, I'll have to try again! - only 1 bathroom, might get annoying with the diuretic powers of caffeine - Parking is tough! I have been a long time customer of St. Thomas Roasters. I try to stop in at least a couple of times a month. The coffee is excellent. Like to pair the dark roast coffee of the day with a treat from the pastry case. Nice to sit outside in good weather or inside if cold or wet. Also like to get coffee beans to take home. Bali Blue is favorite dark roast and Tanzania Peaberry for when I want a lighter roast. read more

Adorable little coffee spot along the main drag in Linglestown. Parking can be tricky. They do have parking along the side of the building otherwise you have to find street parking. Visited around 7:30 a.m. on a weekday and the place was already jamming with regulars hanging out, drinking their coffee and conversating. It's small inside, but quaint. Coffee and scones are amazing. The service was extremely friendly and when I told him it was my first time there he took his time to explain everything. Looking forward to visiting again! read more

Came to St Thomas on a gorgeous, warm November saturday. From the looks of it, the inside of the shop seems to be closed bc COVID. However there is an order window outside and plenty of table seating outside if the weather is nice. You walk right up to the window to order. They have all the menus laid out and posted. The coffee and drink list is extensive. Wow I was impressed. They also have all sorts of speciality and seasonal coffees and drinks too. The food menu looked pretty tasty too, although we didn't get any - looked like mainly lunch, breakfast, and some dessert items. The Grammy sandwich looked good I think it was called. Went to St Thomas today with my boyfriend for the first time and I was so impressed! The atmosphere is so relaxing, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. I got a flavored mocha that was definitely heavy on the flavoring, but tasted absolutely incredible (I'm a fan of flavored coffee anyways). My boyfriend got their Kenyan dark roast blend as a French press and loved it so much he drank it black. The paninis were delicious, and their chocolate chip pecan bar was to die for. I can't wait to have more dates here! They even had a heated outdoor seating area that was warm and toasty. Stopped here on our way out of Hershey towards VA. What a treat. Best coffee I can recall ever having. We selected the current dark roast (can't recall origin, sorry). It was amazing. Chocolaty and super smooth. Whatever you're doing, please keep up the excellent work. We also ordered a couple of desserts and a lentil soup. These were also delicious. For the first time since I started going here I had a bad experience. My coffee order wasn't quite right - in a rare act of unfettered girlishness I ordered a frou-frou coffee. After an afternoon of hiking on the side of a nearby mountain, I was craving the experience of smelling the freshly roasted coffee in a toasty warm ceramic mug. What I got was a half-full Styrofoam cup with a lid. It was supposed to be topped with whipped cream and honey drizzle and dusted with cinnamon. Instead, it was just coffee with some syrup. I couldn't even taste the syrup flavor and there was no sweetness. I asked about the whipped cream and the other goodies and the girl behind the counter said, "oh, you want that?" DUH! I just ordered the frou-frou drink you have a picture of on the counter. Yes, I would like for it to look like that. Two hot chocolates (one of which was only about 3/4 full), one plain coffee, my frou-frou drink that barely filled the cup and two VERY VERY STALE chocolate covered pretzels sprinkled with peanuts (the peanuts tasted so old they were almost rancid tasting and the pretzel was that "mealy" texture you get on old pretzels that should be tossed) came to about $15. That's insane. The smell of this place is intoxicating. The next time I will stick to the plain old coffee that has never done me wrong at this place and I'll skip the stale pretzels. read more

Overview: A wonderful little coffee shop in the center of Linglestown offering a variety of coffee beverages, lunch items, and pastries. Food: I came here with my boyfriend for lunch. We both ordered panini, him "The Barista" and I had "The Grammy." They were both very good. The bread was crisp and not oily. There were plenty of fillings. The panini came with Snyder's chips and I was glad to see them supporting a PA company. As to the coffee, I ordered a vanilla soy latte and the boy got a regular latte. I absolutely loved my latte. It was full bodied, not overly sweet, and utterly wonderful. I enjoyed every last sip. For dessert, I got one of their stuffed cookies, the raspberry shortbread. It. Was. Great. It was also the last one, which is probably good because I'm likely to have bought them all! I also got a chocolate chip scone, which was very good. Moist and flavorful! We also got a 1/2 pound of freshly ground coffee to go (sticky bun flavored). We gave it away to a couple who told us they loved it. Recommend: Any of the coffee drinks and the pastries, particularly the raspberry stuffed cookie. Atmosphere: Inside is pretty small, with half the space devoted to the counter and bean roasting areas. But they have ample seating outside on the porch, in the front of the house, and along the side. We sat outside and it was wonderful to relax at lunch and watch the cars go by. Service: Everyone was really friendly when we visited. They seemed to truly enjoy their job and were proud of their product. read more
