I bring my toddler here in the mornings and it's quiet and she loves playing with the kitchen and reading books. They have a bunch of computers and printers if that's what you're looking for. Getting a library card is easy and fast. They also have plenty of people in the library to help you find whatever book or category you're looking for. They do morning events for families, toddlers and big kids. Schedules are posted up front with times and dates. They have something for all ages which is good when you have three kids (one being a toddler and two being older) very friendly staff and plenty of parking. It's very peaceful here.

Luckily, the Slidell branch of the St. Tammany Parish Library is a really pleasant library that I feel so lucky to be able to use at my leisure. It is filled with natural sunlight thanks to the many floor to ceiling windows. It's large and there are countless tables to sit and study at a table and lots of comfy couches to sink into with the latest page turner. There are at least thirty computers here for you to use as well as copiers and fax machines. When you get a library card and use it to register for online access to the database you can then order, renew and place holds on a book or DVD that you'd like from the comfort of your own home. How cool is that? Of course, the summer reading program for children is always a fun and educational way to keep little ones entertained throughout the summer. It's always so nice and cool in the library in the scotching summer months. I realize that some people think libraries are dinosaurs these days with all of the advances in our modern times, but I would be very sad if I didn't have them around. Some days you just need to get lost in a book in the awesomeness that is the library. Try it sometime!

This gorgeous library is a converted mansion that sits atop a hill on Saint Charles Avenue - if…read morethat wasn't all you needed to be convinced. I've only been a member for a short while, but in my experience the Latter Library staff is exceptionally friendly, the space is quiet and well-maintained, the wifi is reliable, and the book selection is great - everything from new releases to cookbooks, audiobooks, and books about New Orleans history and culture. On the lower floor, the original mansion rooms are largely unconverted and left true-to-style - you can sit and read on antique upholstered chairs at large oak tables, or walk about and admire the chandeliers and ceiling frescos. On the upper floor, however, are all your modern amenities - more organized shelving, help desk, clean bathrooms, computer lab, etc. In this way, Latter Library strikes a balance between being contemporarily functional in the community and being a historical relic in the neighborhood. Would recommend popping by and checking it out!

There are chairs here and there, to sit and read.. they do have daily newspapers, too. The staff is super helpful, and friendly. The one issue I have isn't specific to this branch. The Jefferson Parish website is difficult to plow through. I can't go to a tab "best selling books 2016", or "Oscar nominated movies 2021". Needs work to be user friendly.

It's two stories, very tidy, nice staff, multiple meeting rooms, and cool displays of both historical figures and modern entertainment. Outside tables, vending machines, a coffee machine, and a microwave are available right outside of the library for the public to use. Also, there's a book donation bin there that collects used books, DVDs, CDs, and Vinyls every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm which I used for my 2026 New Year cleaning. Overall, a great and diverse public library in the Metairie area!
