I find it hard to believe that it has taken me this long, but I finally obtained a St. Tammany…read moreLibrary Card. I was beginning to think that it wasn't necessary since almost all of the books I read are of the E variety. Despite my aversion towards actual books, I want to make sure my children understand the importance of libraries. So on a recent weekday, I took one of my kids, and we both got cards. The process was very easy, and the librarian was extremely helpful. In fact, she may have been the friendliest and most helpful librarian that I have ever dealt with professionally. She thoroughly explained their E-Book lending procedure which seems like the perfect way to read new books without buying them. All you need is a library card and you can download the e-books to your reader of choice. This branch was relatively small. It did have traditional books, DVD movies, music CDs, audiobooks, and internet connected computers. There were also several quiet spots where one could sit and read or study. If you don't have a library card, go get one. Even though it is 2012, the library is a great resource and it is important that the younger generation understands that. Note: There is no after hours book drop-off at this branch. You need to go to the Giror Street branch for that.

A wonderful option if looking for a comfortable place to work for a day. Today, I used the "study…read morepod" at this library branch. There's only one pod so it is available on a first come first serve basis. The pod contains furniture that folds out--one table and two benches--plus several outlets. I was able to do some work calls from the pod without feeling disruptive to other patrons. after my calls were over, I vacated the pod in case someone else needed that space and works from a regular table in the library. The tables have plenty of outlets in the library is spacious. The best part, is that I did not need a local library card in order to use the study pod. Since I was on a road trip and just needing a place to work in transit, this was very helpful. Other features: --In the children's section, there is both a puzzle table and an art table, in case the children want activities other than reading. --In addition to the study pod, there is a conference room that can be checked out.

They have a separate kids area fully packed with kitchen, puzzles, books, movies, computers, tables…read moreand chairs. Books for all ages. I bring my toddler here in the mornings and it's quiet and she loves playing with the kitchen and reading books. They have a bunch of computers and printers if that's what you're looking for. Getting a library card is easy and fast. They also have plenty of people in the library to help you find whatever book or category you're looking for. They do morning events for families, toddlers and big kids. Schedules are posted up front with times and dates. They have something for all ages which is good when you have three kids (one being a toddler and two being older) very friendly staff and plenty of parking. It's very peaceful here.

They got a seed library where we can check out three packs of seeds every day it's smaller than the main library of course and there's another uptown library that's a little larger, but it's bigger than the Avar library that's near my house. I recommend visiting each branch and checking out what they have you can also get ebooks thru Libby app.

Beautiful library that used to be a residential home. Nice interior with mahogany staircase, a children's section, a small computer area, and some tables and chairs throughout. I went to the bath bomb and sugar scrub class and it was awesome. While there weren't a lot of us there, the few people there made it feel very welcoming and comfortable. Every second Monday of the month, at the Westbank branch, you can get free notary services but it is on a first come first serve basis and she's only there for an hour 9am-10am. The notary public is very nice and she says this is her way of giving back to the community. Kudos to her!! I prefer the Napoleon branch because it's much bigger and more spacious with many more study rooms and places to sit. However, both branches have friendly staff. Meeting rooms are available for free with ample notice. So, check them out for monthly activities because lately they've been hosting a plethora of them. They also have card games but Spades isn't one lol.

There are chairs here and there, to sit and read.. they do have daily newspapers, too. The staff is super helpful, and friendly. The one issue I have isn't specific to this branch. It's two stories, very tidy, nice staff, multiple meeting rooms, and cool displays of both historical figures and modern entertainment. Outside tables, vending machines, a coffee machine, and a microwave are available right outside of the library for the public to use. Also, there's a book donation bin there that collects used books, DVDs, CDs, and Vinyls every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm which I used for my 2026 New Year cleaning. Overall, a great and diverse public library in the Metairie area!
