Super friendly staff here and a huge selection of books and stuff for family of all ages, plus a great little coffee shop next to the magazine rack and an honest-to-goodness stack of bibles a few rows down. Always thankful for great customer service, popping in to chat with the other bookworms has become a favorite activity! read more

Barnes Noble Booksellers - A book! Oh, and some coffee. - Bookstores Near Me - Mandeville, Louisiana

I realized I didn't have the book I need to read for book club on Thursday so I stopped into B&N to see if they had it. They did not but the people were super nice, anyway. read more

I love this place! The service was amazing and everyone was super friendly. I was looking for some beginner tarot and boy did they have a selection of tarot. I'm not familiar with it so I was asking one of the employees a couple of questions and she was pretty understanding even though she didn't know much on the topic. Our cashier was very nice! I don't know her name but she had short black hair. I definitely would recommend this place. read more

Barnes Noble Booksellers - Tarot - Bookstores Near Me - Mandeville, Louisiana

The lady taking orders would take like 5 at a time, then start making those drinks. She made the drinks in reverse order... I was customer #1, but customer #5 got their drinks first - then 4, 3, 2, and 1. read more

It has been a while since I have stepped foot inside am actual Barnes and Noble store. I am normally buying e-books online for my Nook app which is awesome. I needed a guidebook for Disney and actually needed a physical book. Fortunately for me, this location had about 50 different guide books on Disney alone. I had forgotten how much I liked this bookstore. It is massive and contains nearly everything you would want. There is a large magazine section to the front and an excellent children section on the left. In the middle are thousands of new books arranged by topic. In addition to foreign travel books, there were a large amount of Louisiana travel books. This would he a great section to peruse to learn about your home state. The staff at this location are very helpful and friendly. They are more than happy to lead you all over the store to find what you're looking for. They also can look up books to determine what is coming out and when. Although most of my books are now electronic only, I meed to remember to visit an actual location now and then. This place was great. read more

Oh, how I love books. I do on occasion read books on my iPad or Kindle but nothing really beats holding a book in my hands while reading it...the way it smells, the feel of the pages. It's a sensual thing for me and always has been. I especially love old books...weathered pages that have been turned countless times evokes a feeling in me that is unlike any other. I can get lost in used book stores for hours. That being said, this is one of the best new bookstores around. Barnes and Noble in Mandeville has the feel of a little bookshop but it is quite large and I have always been able to find anything I was looking for here. There are guide books for vacations, text books and everything in between. I love the local section, as I do in most places of business, but a warning...if you're a sentimental sap like me avoid picking up the anniversary of Katrina coffee table books as tempting as it may be, unless you want to be reduced to a crying mess in the middle of the store. (Not that I'd know anything about that nonsense). The kids section is also a life saver during the hot summer months. There are train tables and toys to play with and best of all books! They do story time a few times a day and the employees reading always keep the audience mesmerized. Not an easy feat for the kid crowd, but they do it and do it well. Be sure to join the rewards program if you are a frequent buyer of all things books. It's initially a small investment but really worth it if you're going to be buying here often. It can be used online as well. Happy reading! read more

Everyone here is super helpful. Well, almost everyone. Grey beard not so much. When you ask for help with sports cards he's sarcastic and acts as if it's beneath him. When he's up front I just turn around and leave. Everyone else is happy to help. read more

Very disappointed in my visit to this store today. On Friday, 8/25, I purchased a $25 gift card; on Saturday, 8/26, I came back to get Erica Spindler's new book and get her autograph and noticed their beach bags were discounted if you made a purchase. So, I purchased the book and a beach bag also because of the offer. Today, 8/27, I returned to ask if I could purchase another beach bag as I had my receipt from Friday of $25. One of the associates tried so hard to help me while the "manager" was so distracted by helping a customer with their phone issues that she was not focused on trying to work out a solution. In closing, over 2 days I spent $69 and yet was not afforded the opportunity to purchase another beach bag at the discounted price. They really acted like this had never happened before. I'm just really bummed that Barnes & Noble decided they didn't want to make a sale today. read more

Great place, it's kinda small but I really like it and I found what I was looking for.

Great homey feel, always loved this bookshop. Helpful staff and interesting books for all ages.

Great selection. I could stay in drinking coffee and browsing! shame they are not too good at pricing things.

I really like going here for coffee and a book. They have some really great sales and I always check their clearance rack whenever I am in there for something new! They have a cafe that serves Cheesecake Factory products and Starbucks Coffee! read more
