Replaced by row upon row of soulless Funko Pops. Boardgame section? Hardly any used and all new... and no real reason to buy there as opposed to Amazon or other online BG retailer. RPG section? No more 1e D&D modules or older materials, or anything else for that matter. Just the same old 5e crap, with Critical Role mixed in, with video game guides slowly spreading into the section like a cancer. The only good thing was not in the store, but in the parking lot, where they had a car show going on. The place turned from nerd-vana into just another BAM! bookstore (the owners of 2nd & Charles). Won't be back.

It used to be a Books-A-Million from the same chain. They have a great selection of used tabletop RPGs that also includes some new products at full retail price. It's a huge store that buys from customers. Getting into and out of the parking lot is difficult because U.S. 190 and service roads are confusing and traffic is chaotic. I use my phone to navigate even short drives in this part of Covington.

It is an 'experience' to enter the restaurant through the faux pawn shop... Just off St. Charles Ave, right behind the BEAUTIFUL Latter Library, and only open for a few select…read morehours each week, this little book store is full of the BEST DEALS in used books in the city, the area, and possibly the state (please correct me if you know of somewhere better!). It is well organized, full of Thousands of books for $1 dollar (Not all books are one dollar, but more than half!). They also have DVDs, and kids books.There is a big shelf as soon as you walk in filled with the books that most kids have to read for their English classes, and most for $1. And then you are finished reading your books, you can donate them back to this facility and it goes to further the efforts of the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library.....win-win!! An added benefit for those who like to compost, Compost NOW accepts frozen compostable food scraps here from 12:30pm-2pm every Wednesday. Recycle some books, and recycle food waste.

Frank greeted us when we walked in, and then shared the story of Faulkner's history in the building, a former boarding house. The bookstore is the room where Faulkner did his writing, and although small, has a well curated selection of books. Faulkner's books are highlighted on the center table, classics line the walls, a bookshelf of poetry is in the second room, and plenty of books on New Orleans culture are available.
