We purchased a pair of shoes for our daughter in the same size as her last pair of school shoes…read more(bought from Joe's), but unfortunately the size was slightly larger because the brand changed. She wore the shoes to school ONE day and realized they were going to be too large, prompting us to contact the store for an exchange. We were only given a 50% credit wearing the shoes for one day and essentially ended up paying 150% of the price of the shoe because she realized during the first day of wearing them that they were too large. I seriously doubt that shoe is going to land on a 50% discount table. If it does, then I will stand corrected... This was just a completely disappointing experience. I want to buy local and support our local businesses, but policies and actions like this make it hard to support you. Recommendation to anyone reading this would be to make CERTAIN they fit before taking them out the door. I won't be back. Good customer service makes long-term customers. You lost us on this one...

This shop was recommended to me by a coworker. I was complaining about my old shoes and she said that this store will take time to get you into a pair of shoes that feels right for you... I was so delighted. What my coworker did not mention is that healthcare workers get a 10% discount! Which is great when I need to spend money on shoes anyway! She did not tell me about the scan. There is a foot scan that showed/told me about my feet. Uhhmmmm, my left foot is smaller than, my right---I have limited instep and I have pronation. Yea, AND, they can order shoes in different colored! Did I mention that you get a FREE t-shirt when you buy a pair of shoes! I will definitely be back (especially since they ordered me another pair of these---they said it would be in in about a week and that they would call me. Yay! This experience exceeded my expectations!

Strange thing considering my age, but at some point my feel got bigger by a couple sizes. Problem solved. Once we figured out the size issue, we discussed my running/walking and then the real fun began! I tried on 5 or 6 pairs of shoes and was able to find some that feel great. I have a number of miles on them and am very satisfied. They even gave me a free shirt to go with my new shoes. Knowing what I know now, I could buy my next pair of shoes online but I will buy from Varsity again to support the great service I have gotten.

Although our visit was over the holidays, the store was not particularly crowded and a number of store associates seemed available. However, when my wife sought info on styles comparable to one she had found she had difficulty getting help from a younger employee, who repeatedly blew her off with comments that everything available could be found on the shelves. Checking out was an issue also, with a long line forming for a single checkout. An older associate, who was perhaps a manager, finally opened a second line, but it seemed clear that she was having to pull more than her share of the weight. Hard to find good holiday help, perhaps?

They were never worn except when I tried them on again at home. Long story short.....My refund was about $30 less than I paid when I bought them. The only explanation was that the "computer told them to do that". Of course I disagreed. THAT MADE NO SENSE!. The cashier said that SHE WAS GETTING FRUSTRATED. She called the manager. He was no help either. It was simple math and common sense. Not rocket science. There was nothing I could do. What a rip-off! I work hard for my money. The crazy thing about this was that these people acted as if this was all ok and that I was being unreasonable.

I was impressed with the young man who helped me when I arrived for my appointment. He had me do a…read morequestionnaire, took an imprint of my feet while standing and had me try on some tennis shoes for the walking test. He went to the back and got insoles for me to try. The Good Feet system uses three different insoles, and he had me try all of them in the tennis shoe, by walking in the store. He was very communicative with me to assess the insoles. He gave me instructions as to how to use the insole system, when and how long to use each one. I was excited because my feet actually felt a whole lot better while using the insoles in the tennis shoes while walking in the store. My heel pain just about disappeared. Then, the disappointment. I was all ready to do this and buy their insole system. I had no idea what the price would be but I was thinking it would be about $500. I was way off! He did not actually say the price. He just handed me a piece of paper that showed the prices. It would have been $1800! Ouch. I was shocked. I did not buy the insoles. I give a 5 for the service and product and a 1 for the price.

The clerk told me it was written on the receipt but in fact it was not, and they hadn't marked the rack as final sale items either.
