And that's exactly what they did. The library sits on the north wing of the triad community campus. It is a clean, decently built structure with big multi~use bathrooms and a good collection for such a small city. And now for the downsides. They have an unimpressive and skimpy magazine collection..tailored for the eldest among us (from southern living to Smithsonian). The sitting area is behind the non fiction shelves walled off by the cd collection. It's not very big, and the chairs are very stiff and uncomfortable. This is definitely an old lady's paradise though..except for the children's section of course.

Tiffany should be more skilled in customer service .I understand anyone can have a bad day but my daughter told me her other interaction with Tiffany have been left a lot be be desired on Tiffany's part of the interaction.

The cost of admission is $15 for adults and will take around 2 hours. They do a guided tour which last for 20 minutes which is a Mary talking about the house 20 minutes straight. For me, my attention span was low that day and everything went in and out of my ear. After that, you get to tour the grounds like the kitchen, guest quarters, etc which I enjoyed the most. The place is pretty big. Make sure when you head back to go to the 2nd floor as there are a lot of artifacts. It was worth my time going however.

Amazingly enough, this brick structure from the sixties survived hurricane Katrina's wrath, and it…read morehas recently reopened as Longbeach's downtown library. The outdated, sixties facade sets the tone for the rest of the library. The magazine selection is skimpy and does not include any major national news subscriptions (ie: national review, Newsweek, etc). I have found the bathroom to be unserviceable due to..plumbing issues. The whole place has a faint smell of mildew and stale cigarettes. The reading room is just big enough for five. Longbeach is trying to come back, though. I found a few gems on their dime a paperback sale table, including several of Leon Uris' masterpieces (Mila 18, The Haj) and "Burr" by Gore Vidal.

The top floor was plenty big enough to accommodate the 100 people we were expecting (and more). It was easy to rent and to get in to set up for the party. There is a kitchen with an industrial ice maker and refrigerator, if it is needed. The venue supplied all of the tables and chairs. All we had to do was bring the tablecloths, decorations, food, drinks, and music. It was a fantastic night and I would highly suggest using this for your next event!!!

They do have an elevator. There's a balcony you can use for your ceremony like in the wedding we attended this weekend and you can set up little small, tall cocktail tables out there for socializing. There's a kitchen and a bar area. The restrooms were clean and there were plenty of stalls and sinks. The place is roomy for a table for cake, separately for appetizers, main course and a DJ area plus many round tables and chairs for guests. The floors were of nicely polished wood for dancing and grooving. Longfellow Civic Center seems like a great place for a celebration and is close to the Buoys Bar for an after party.

All of the staff genuinely love the kids and make it such an enjoyable event for them Mrs. Amber is incredibly dedicated and reading time is always accompanied by dancing and moving around and then a craft. You can't ask for more. Plus they have a great selection of books for children.... Almost all of the elephant and piggy books!
