Had no problems with a troublesome jacket stain that I had tried everything else with. Would recommend.

My son dropped off his suit for dry cleaning in April 2026. Not only was St Paul Cleaners not able to clean it, they destroyed the jacket (shredded sleeve & torn jacket front) in the process. See attached photos. The owner Harry tried to deny his business damaged the suit & refused to pay for the damages. After a heated discussion, he threw $24 at us in bills as a refund for the dry cleaning charges instead of reimbursing us for the cost of replacing the damaged suit. Just walk inside and you will know immediately not to leave your clothes here. As another reviewer said, the owner was rude & surly. If you want to get your clothes back way worse off than when you dropped them off, by all means, use St Paul Cleaners. Will try Remington & Sanitate nearby the Hopkins Homewood campus which have better reviews. read more

The clothes were washed with rugs. The sheets smelled. The blanket was rolled in a ball. The man at the front desk was rude, surly and disrespectful. He said, " you won't find anyone around here who sorts laundry." I am now rewashing everything as it is dirty and wrinkled. It's disgraceful. What a waste of time, money and energy. The place is filthy and I cannot believe my husband chose this place to drop of laundry to be cleaned. It's like bathing in mud and expecting to come out white as snow. Great service. Not a chain cleaners, seems to be locally owned. I had to do an alteration ... dropped off the pants on Tuesday evening, got them back Thursday. They actually called me to tell me my pants are ready, 1 day earlier than promised. The alteration was done nicely, and the place is also located at a good location, right across the street from Eddie's market and other restaurants. This small, dingy place... not a good place to get your clothes cleaned. Took a blazer there to get it altered, and the first thing I noticed/sensed when I opened the door into the dimly lit chamber of doom was the smell of... old buildings and crap. The carpet was worn out and smelled bad, and the walls had paint coming off. How can one expect his stuff to be properly cleaned in this environment? I'd be worried about bed bugs and other stuff. Alteration was reasonably priced. When I got it back, it didn't fix the problem I had with the blazer; I consider myself lucky that the blazer was not destroyed in the process. For the price I paid ($12), I guess that was $ down the drain. I took my blazer immediately to the Super Laundromat across the street to get it properly cleaned. That unacceptable smell was on my blazer and I needed to get that off. I recommend going across the street to the Super Laundromat for your alterations and cleaning needs. I have been going to St. Paul cleaners for almost 20 years despite moving around the city a lot and it not being my nearest cleaners for a long time now. Yes, it is a tiny space that doesn't look like much, but this is the most reliable and friendly place in town. The prices are great and the service is even better. My clothes are always ready very quickly (2-3 days) and look like new! I really enjoy supporting this small, locally owned business that, to me, is a charles village institution. read more

Sorry this place is just way too expensive for my taste. I'm not sure if my hometown in New Jersey is much more economical, but $12.95 for one gown to be dry cleaned seems extraordinarily high. Other quotes the man gave me were $1.50 for men's shirts, but $4.95 for women's blouses or pants or other items. Miscellaneous items or long dresses are $12.95. Comparatively, dry cleaners I know will charge $0.99 per dress shirts and $1.99 any other item. I just feel $12.95 is overpriced for dry cleaning one garment. The store does not seem well kept, which just makes me question the quality of service. If the storefront is looking messy, cluttered, and a little grimy, then it doesn't validate my trust in the cleanliness of my items. I delivered my gown early in the morning and it was ready the next day by noon, so efficiency is a plus. There's other dry cleaners close by, if I ever need something dry cleaned again I will check those places first, but I don't think I'll ever come here again. read more

I had a suit and dress dry cleaned here. They advertise service in a day but mine took about 2 days. Also, my dress didn't get clean :o( but my suit did! It's so close to the Hopkins campus that I'll definitely be using it again for my dry cleaning, but I just wish it they did a more effective job. Great service! I recently had a wedding to go to. I bought a suit on Thursday and the wedding was Saturday. I needed a super rush job. After trying several dry cleaners and almost giving up on thursday, on Friday morning I went on yelp and did a neighborhood search. They were right around the corner and the reviews were good but the real service was outstanding. I called the owner before they were even open. There was no answer but calls were forwarded to his cell he called me right back. I met him at the store as soon as it opened and explained the situation. He made a call to his seamstress, got confirmation and the deal was on. He took my measurements and told me it would be ready the next morning. True to form, it was! And the suit looked great! I wasn't thrilled with my normal dry cleaner so I tried this place. The prices were good but the results were horrible. I took 10 shirts in and every single one of them was pretty wrinkled (more so than other dry cleaners) Roughly 6 of the shirts had stains on them that looked like drops of the starch left on them 1 of them had burn marks from an iron on it and is ruined. 1 had a button lost during cleaning and he replaced it with a mismatched button that looked bad. A few months back, I was interviewing for med school. Anyone who has gone through that process (or any arduous interviews-all-over-the-country type thing) knows just how balls you have in the air at any time, and how easy it is to drop one. I did so. I dropped off my interview suit for cleaning, then got his hours mixed up and forgot to pick it up until the day before leaving. Because I'm an idiot. So, he's closed for the day and my plane leaves at 5AM the next morning, and I call and leave him a message just on the off chance he gets it. It's like 7PM on a Friday. He calls me back, and it turns out he's left for the day and is at the gym working out. He says if I'm willing to wait until like 10PMish, he can grab my suit as a special favor. He's super nice about it, never once says anything like "you're out of luck," just amazingly kind and gracious about the whole thing. Have used the dry cleaner for the last 6 months with no problems. I took four dress shirts in two months ago and all four came back with a two-inch cut at the elbow. The cuts happened on the right elbow on two shirts and the left elbow on the other two at the exact same level, large enough to have noticed if they happened while wearing them prior to dry cleaning. I didn't realize it had happened to all the shirts until wearing the second one and then going through the whole closet. I took the items in twice to talk with a manager and both times the employees denied that the damage could have happened at their dry cleaner, without even considering the possibility. Recommend any other dry cleaner after this experience. read more

I have used all these services and have been very happy with the quality of alterations and shoe repairs too. They have never lost any of my clothes nor ruined anything like other cleaners have.
