My son is tall and extremely slim so having his items tailored/altered is a must. The first initial visit was good however the pants were still baggy. So she had to take them in some more. I picked them up, my son still didn't like them so we went back for another fitting. She said she's never done skinny type pants on a suit before and said some costumers get upset. I went to Remington's for Alterations's on a formal dress. After coming home and trying on the dress I was alarmed that the alterations made the dress worse. I called to have my money refunded as I needed to seek other alterations. They would not refund the money only offering to fix the alterations. My husband and I were planning a last-minute micro wedding due to the pandemic. I found a dress off the rack that was 2 sizes too big and way too long, and brought it to Jenny 3.5 weeks before our date to see what could be done with it. She hemmed inches off the bottom (skirt was 3 layers) and took in the entire top of the dress (which was intricate lace). When I tried it on again, and the back was bulging slightly, she kept the dress and fixed it within a few days. Her prices are affordable and fair. I was able to wear it on our wedding day, and felt beautiful. I couldn't believe what a difference the alterations made! Jenny was wonderful to work with; friendly, fast, and professional. I had a budget wedding and didn't want to spend much on dress alterations, so I brought my BHLDN (Andora Gown) wedding dress here to get altered. I was initially hesitant to bring my wedding dress to a dry cleaner for alterations since my wedding dress was so intricate and had lace, but I am so glad I did. The owner was very kind and accommodating. No appointments were necessary and compared to other places I inquired with, the price she charged was well within my budget. The owner was able to get it done within 2 weeks and when I went to try it on afterwards, the dress was still a bit long. She immediately offered to adjust it again free of charge and had it finished within a week. They did a fantastic job patching up some jeans with big holes around the thigh and crotch area. What a great experience! I was super nervous because I had a wedding to go to on the west coast and needed a dress altered within 48 hrs. I called ahead and a friendly lady answered the phone. My husband and I had an anniversary party in Baltimore and, after a tailor in NY took too much expensive fabric off of some dress straps on the first alteration attempt, my dress was way too snug to be worn and I was in a major time crunch. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Jenny. She has altered a few garments for me, and restored my grandmother's fur coat, even though I don't think she usually does fur, she did some research and had it cleaned at a very fair price. I was just going to clean it, and she recommended that the lining needed some repairs (it definitely did, I just didn't think of it!) and it's now in gorgeous condition. Her dry cleaning services are fast and affordable, always ready when she says they will be and always pristine. Most of the people in my office use her, because I can't stop raving. So... I've been waiting to clear up this issue I had from these "Cleaners" I had early in the year before I posted my review. Ultimately, according to the Dry Cleaning and Laundry Institute, Remington Cleaners was not found at fault HOWEVER the experience I had with them was an absolute nightmare. It should be noted that this business is not a member of the Drycleaning and Laundry Institute, and they will make that YOUR problem. Essentially I brought in a wedding dress from a designer sample sale with a loose strap and a smudge of dirt on the bust to be lightly cleaned and pressed. The dress, new, was still full price on the designers website so I intended to re-sell the dress (obviously not full price, at a serious discount) because I found another one, and the price I paid reflected a lightly used dress needing dry cleaning. I picked up the dress and immediately noticed a number of patches all over the dress that had gone matte (it was a liquid satin gown). According to the testing that happened later, the company that they send their laundry off to be cleaned to chafed the mirrored finish off of the satin, making it un-useable. I returned to the business, showing her the patches all over the dress. She started stating that she hadn't gone over the dress in full before with me (when I gave her the dress I showed the the strap and the small smudge of dirt on the dress and we went over probably half of the dress). She started interrogating me about the origin of the dress. I will admit the only thing that I did that was problematic was that I stumbled on the origin of the dress with her, sensing that she was positioning herself to state that she wasn't to blame and to completely take advantage of me. I later cleared this up with her daughter who was much less aggressive and easy to deal with. It should be noted that at no point did they offer to refund the cost of my dry cleaning (as it did ruin the dress). They sent the dress to a color restorer who declared that the dress was completely ruined. According to the Better Business Bureau, the next step is to send the dress to a lab to get analyzed to determine the cause of the damage. The owner told me through her daughter that "as an honest business" they would offer to do this for me. I say yes, this is what protocol stipulates. 2 weeks later I am contacted by the daughter. She tells me that it would cost $540 to get the dress tested. She thought it would be fair to make me responsible for the cost of testing if the testing came back and the analysis stated that it wasn't Remington Cleaners fault. I was shocked at this cost and did some digging. I found out that testing only cost a business $36 per garment, no matter what garment, as a member of the DCI/IFI (FYI, they were not a member so if this happens to you, expect the same struggle). After pressing them where the $540 number came from... they told me that it was $504 a year to me a member of the DCI and that they thought it would be fair for me to pay their professional dues for the year as "this has never happened to them and they don't expect that it ever will again". Obviously this frustrated me as the DCI told me almost immediately after I called them that if the dry cleaner wasn't a member of the DCI I should go through the local BBB. After they TRIED TO MAKE ME PAY THEIR PROFESSIONAL DUES TO A PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION I attempted to draw up a contact using the BBB standards for dry cleaning and International Textile Standards but they refused to respect them, stating that they would only pay 30% of the sale price that I paid, citing slightly imperfect material around the zipper and claiming that the garment was in bad condition (I have a product description of the dress from the designer stating it was lightly used but in good condition). Ultimately, you can't dry-clean a liquid satin dress without severe risk to the finish of the dry cleaner and it is out of the ability of a cleaner to prevent any damage to the dress, so they were found not responsible, however the owner maintains that she believes it was right of her to insist that I pay her professional organization dues. Horrible business, horrible experience. read more

Jenny skillfully tailored an off-the-rack, 2-sizes-too-big wedding dress for me within a month's time in September last year, and I can testify to this woman's finesse, ease to work with, and extremely fair pricing. The dress I bought was an upscale one at Macy's with an intricate lace with literally thousand beads work. It was too big for me and had a few sites where it was damaged, but I was pressed for time and they had a sale that made the dress very affordable that I couldn't pass on it. Having bought the dress, I took it to three different tailor shops, but Jenny was the one who gave the best price for all the work that needed to be done and had the experience and confidence to say that she could do all the intricate work on it. My mom and I both felt like we could trust her, and her work did not disappoint. I had my dress dry-cleaned as well after the wedding, and my mom also got her dress altered here for the wedding.
