What a Delight! Yelp comes through again…read more We wanted a hearty lunch while heading north on I-5, and this place popped up. We like BBQ so did the quick hop off the freeway. Small, family-run, welcoming, great service-with-a-smile. Classic variety of meats, great sides. (N.B., my spouse opined that these were, by far, the best collard greens he'd tasted. I am not quite as experienced in the genre of collard greens as he is, but they tasted mighty fine to me!) It was a hot day, and the place was deliciously air-conditioned. Five small tables inside, but plenty of outdoor dining. The place filled up with other happy patrons after we were seated. I had the brisket sandwich... Five stars. Spouse had the rib plate, five stars. We plan to tell our friends about this, and we will definitely stop back in again when we need to have the chance

Also, my husband was wondering if it could possibly be worth leaving the interstate and going through 3 traffic circles. Bottom line: SO worth it! What a great growing town, a great local spot with friendly service and food that makes you talk with your mouth full because you can't wait to say, "Wow! Amazing!" for the 10th time. We had the brisket sandwich, fish tacos and pork. We also had the carritos, cole slaw and fries. Every bite was phenomenal! So if you live here, what are you waiting for? If you don't, take that little side Jog off the beaten path. And Guy Fieri, I expect to see an episode featuring the Nest very soon! Next time we are in Portland, we will come even if it's not on our way anywhere! Thank you for the great hospitality and the wonderful meal!

Listen... Oriental Cafe really be having me in a chokehold…read more This is hands down one of my favorite local spots, especially when I'm trying to pretend I'm making a healthier choice (we love balance). My go-to is always the teriyaki chicken with fried rice, never misses. Like ever. Now let's talk about those gyozas... because why are they SO good but come on "I need more than this" portions They're a little spendy for the amount, but somehow I still end up ordering them every time. No regrets. My kids? Obsessed. Chow mein, soups, doesn't matter, they're all in. Which says a lot because kids do NOT lie about food. And don't even get me started on that frozen strawberry lemonade... it's honestly unfair how good it is. Like who gave them permission? ! If you haven't been yet, fix that immediately.

Let me start by saying my boyfriend (Eddie Tattoed) has been eating here for 15 years and I have…read morebeen eating here for five years. We loved it until our visit a couple of days ago. The waitresses were awesome overall, but as soon as we called ours over and told her that our egg foo young tasted burnt on both of our orders she became very nervous. We asked her if we could get a fresh order of that item and she said "let me go talk to the boss." what happened next was the last thing that I ever expected, mind you I grew up in a restaurant. My parents owned one for 40 years in eastern Oregon. The chef.(whom we assume is the owner) come to our table with the plate that we put all of the egg foo young on and starts chopping it up with the fork while consistently stating " it not burnt, see it soft!" she repeated this for 3 to 5 minutes quite loudly, everyone in the restaurant was watching her. The edges were burned all the way around each piece, five in total. My boyfriend asked " What do you want us to do? Cut off the edges and just eat the middle?" her response was to cut it again and."SEE IT SOFT! NO EGG FOO YOUNG FOR YOU!" and she stormed away. Sadly, both waitresses rushed to our table and apologized on behalf of their boss. Nobody should ever have to apologize for someone else's behavior. We told them it wasn't their fault then our waitress promptly removed the $12.50 side order of egg, foo young and adjusted the price of mine down to a two item instead of a three item meal. I can promise you we will never go back. The only photo I have is when I first got my mail and you cannot quite tell that it's burnt as it's covered in gravy. I wish I would've gotten another picture however, I never expected that to happen. I have never experienced such horrific actions by an "owner or boss" of the business, neither has Eddie.
